Query: Containerizing Adobe InDesign Server on AWS EC2 Hello Team,I have a requirement related to deploying Adobe InDesign Server in a cloud environment and would appreciate guidance from the community.🔹are planning to run Adobe InDesign Server on an AWS EC2 Windows Server instance and are exploring whether it can be containerized for better deployment consistency and scalability.🔹 Key Questions Is it officially supported or recommended to install and run Adobe InDesign Server inside a container (e.g., Docker / Windows containers) on an EC2 instance? If containerization is possible: What are the recommended steps or best practices to set up InDesign Server in a containerized environment? Are there any specific prerequisites or configurations required (e.g., fonts, plugins, licensing setup)? What are the known limitations or challenges when running InDesign Server in containers, specifically regarding: Licensing compliance Performance and scalability Runtime dependencies Are
How to open the “Character Styles” panel?I found this:try { app.scriptMenuActions.itemByID(8481).invoke();} catch (e) { $.writeln(e.message) };But I don’t know where to look up “itemByID” for character styles.

InDesign users need a way to easily export documents as print spreads (imposed from reader spreads) from the “print booklet” option. Currently I can either print to my home printer or print to postscript, but not print to pdf. Distiller is no longer up to the task of handling complex postscipt files. Print designers need a way, when print shops request it, to send these types of files. As a layout program, this feature should have been baked in from the beginning.
NOT THAT ANYONE CARES — I know Adobe is moving fast with AI, etc. but all the new changes to InDesign in particular are totally slowing my process. Text is suddenly highlighted that never was before, command + z doesn’t always work, etc. And worst of all, Pantone Connect is useless. I’m old school. Was nearly a first-user on Macs in the ‘80s — my first was that little beige box with a B&W screen! I spend tons of time trying to figure out what to call the new issues and then search for the answers! Same with Acrobat describing what images are so that I can’t read the client comments hidden under the pop-ups. Maddening!!!
For example:Paragraph style A inherits only certain Grep settings from paragraph style B.Or, the “Paragraph Line” setting in A inherits from B, while other settings remain unrelated to B.Currently, I usually start by basing Style A on Style B, then modify it item by item. However, sometimes when Style A is based on Style B, many things change, and you have to start over from scratch. Sometimes, cell styles and object styles also require this functionality. This is different from importing styles from another document.
I have images in frames, and the images are MUCH larger than the frames. I’d like to be able to zoom in/out of the image, numerically (e.g. via typing in a %), but have the part of the image centered in the frame remain in the center of the frame. Is that possible?thanks!
The same problem that began to occur with Illustrator and Photoshop several years back is now occuring in InDesign (main palette window moves behind other active windows when you attempt to move the window). Not interested in work arounds and desktop viewing segmentations etc. I want to work the old standard way. Adobe and Apple please resolve this issue!!!
Hello,I need to find tracking for each paragraph. I change tracking size inbetween paragraph it shows null(empty) in indesign but in script even the tracking value mixed, it shows 0. I need the validation through script to find which page and which paragraph tracking is mixed. then i tried textStyleRanges, through stories and texts it wont work.
Hello, I use the INDESIGN program with the ARIAL narrow font. I cannot find the lowercase ʊ symbol to insert in the glyph list. I am also looking for a font for the ʊ symbol.
"Hi everyone,I recently switched to a new MacBook and I am trying to set up my workflow. I have several ongoing projects that were created using InDesign 2024 (version 19.x).To ensure the layout and formatting of these existing files remain perfectly intact, I do not want to convert them to the latest version of InDesign at this stage. I specifically need to install the 2024 version on my new machine to continue working on these files. However, when I check the 'Other Versions' section in the Creative Cloud Desktop app, the 2024 version is not listed or available for download. I have searched through various Adobe help pages but haven't found a direct download link or a way to make it appear in the app.Could someone please guide me on how to access and install InDesign 2024 on a new macOS system?Thank you in advance for your help!"
Hello, can anyone please tell me how to install InDesign 2024 version 19.3 .My creative cloud app is not offering the option to install older versions like how they show in tutorials when i searched a solution for this issue.
So, Adobe quietly stopped supporting the stand-alone distiller app I’ve relied on for 20 years to prepare printer spreads (vs. reader spreads.) This is something I do on a daily basis but distiller continually errors out with the latest rounds of Adobe updates. I have no way to easily convert my postscript files to pdf any more within the Adobe ecosystem. This is a GREATLY OVERLOOKED issue. What is everyone using as a workaround? Are you sending your files to the printer as single pages or reader spreads and letting them deal with? Is there a script you use to impose page layout within InDesign or are you finding ways to distill .ps files outside of Adobe? Thanks for your help!
I am currently facing a compatibility issue with Adobe InDesign 2023 on my device. In order to resolve the problem, I kindly request a direct download link for the official Adobe InDesign 2023 installer, or guidance on how to properly obtain it through my Adobe account.
It's not in The Creative Cloud anymore and I need that particular version for a Xerox plugin (VIDesign Express 18.1.0).I tried to install the latest VIDesign (18.1.3) on InDesign 2025, but it freezes on installation.
I just updated to InDesign 2026 and I'm struggling with the change to resizing split windows. When I'm in the 2-up vertical view (which I use all the time to compare documents), I used to be able to click on the space where the tabs of the windows met at the top and just drag left and right to resize. It looks like I can't do that anymore—I have to click down at the bottom of the windows and hit just the right place in order to resize them (and then it does some automatic resizing first, which is incredibly annoying). Does anyone know if it's possible to get the previous resizing ability back? The new way takes longer and is much clumsier, especially as I am constantly resizing back and forth.
I’m working on a book, 288 pages. Plenty of images, all .eps files as I’m working with spot colours for risograph printing. I’ve been working with this set up for years and I never had this issue. When I try to export the file, the app crashes, and as it took some 30 seconds before the crash I thought that the file was too heavy for my machine (Apple Silicon M1, 2021, 16BG running Tahoe 26.2 with >1TB memory available). So I started splitting the export in smaller parts. It all went ok for pages 1-49 and pages 50-99, but when I went to export pages 100-149 the app crashes, sometimes immediately, sometimes after some 10-20 seconds of exporting. I found it consistent with the first export attempts of the whole file, which occurred after some 30 seconds—maybe some file is corrupted around mid book and if I skip that batch and proceed to export pages 150-199 I might be able to isolate the error and keep exporting the book. But the same occurs to this new export attempt. Sometimes, after
It opened fine yesterday, I shut down the app. Then this morning, it just will not open,
I want to set Indesign keyboard shortcuts to conform to macOS conventions. alt-arrow : move by words shift-alt-arrow : select by words alt-delete : remove words backwards command-arrow : move to the line extremitiesThose shortcuts are set but I can’t find a way to set the deletion to the end or the beginning of the line. Do you know where it’s located in the shortcuts table ?
I can’t figure out if it’s possible to recreate this text style. Specifically the rounded corners. I tried the Underline hack. It will highlight the text but only with a square shape. I can also create a pill shape. I would like to use a square with rounded corners.Any ideas?
I used to be an InDesign expert but only use it occasionally now. I’m using it today and I have noticed an awful new thing: whenever the cursor is in a text window, the interface in the background flashes!!! This is intolerable, I have a vestibular disorder and this is hell.Do you know how I can turn this flickering off? I've looked in the preferences but I'm not sure I see anything there. It literally makes me puke and it’s 100% a WCAG violation (Success Criterion 2.3.3 Animation from Interactions, and others).I’m on 21.3 if it helps. Thank you in advance to any kind soul who can release me from this dizzy hell.
Because they occupy different numbers of characters, their `horizontalOffset` values are different.How can I more reliably determine if row 10 and row 1 are in the same column (or the same text box)?var d = app.activeDocument;var item = d.selection[0];tab = item.parent;var fo = tab.rows[0].cells[0].insertionPoints[0].horizontalOffsetfo = Math.round(fo * 100) / 100;alert(fo);
As noted, I can’t actually sort links by Effective PPI. Here’s what I get (right column): Is there something I’m missing in getting this to work?It looks like it might be ignoring content that appears more than once, i.e. in a folder in the Links list. Thanks!
Ich habe meine InDesign 2024 ausversehen gelöscht und kann jetzt in der Cloud nur noch bis Version 20.0 installieren. Wo finde ich ältere Versionen? Ich benötige die 2024er Version.Vielen Dank vorab.
