InDesign

For reference, I am using an acer swift with an NVIDIA Geforce MX350 For the past few months, anytime I try to move an image on any of the adobe suite platforms (specifically Indesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and occasionally Photoshop) the bottom half of my screen proceeds to flicker, eventually flickering at such a rate that I am unable to see the object I am moving. This eventually increases to shut an extent that the entire screen fully blanks out. This glitch also occasionally happens when moving drawn objects (unsure of correct terminology, sorry. this includes squares, elipses and what not) I tried updating to the more recent version of indesign and that only made the problem worse Any help would be greatly appreciated!Best wishes!

We are creating an interactive brochure to be sent via email to employees. The brochure needs to be clickable, allowing recipients to navigate through it. How should I save and share this? I get an error message when I try to publish it online. 

I'm trying to bring tables, long tables, short tables, tables that span columns and more exciting InDesign tables ----- to bring them into Illustrator (!!!don't ask!!!)    Basically - exporting to EPS / PDF etc. breaks the table strokes into parts - and also breaks up the text and also some text is converting to outline opening in Illustrator.    My idea was to convert the indesign table to a drawn table where the table cells are objects, like paths.   But my scripting knowledge only brings me so far.    What I need to do is convert any table, whether the cells are merged or not - span columns etc.  That the table becomes strokes - continunous lines and not jointed (cos might need to resize a column or row)   So far I've got this - but it's very clean - basically make a table in indesign size the text frame to the table and run the script.   But it breaks if the cells are merged.    I just ned for the table to be generated as

Bonjour à tous, j'utilise la font Zapf Dingbag pour une puce et une étoile dans un document et il apparait comme un carré manquant surligné depuis que je suis passée sur Indesign 2024. La Font est bien activée et n'apparait pas en police manquante. J'utilise Connect Fonts pour mes polices. Elle apparait avec un carré surligné lié à un style de paragraphe avec un GREP dans une cellule de tableau. Avez-vous eu ce genre de problème

When i want to Export a PDF File my Window is moved outside of my screen. I cant move it down because the top part is cut of. Because of that i cant change the Export preset or the PDF Version. Is there a possibility to move the Window without having to touch the upper part of it? I am working on a Windows PC btw. Thx in advance 🙂

I have a long list of cases (some 1200) cited incorrectly across multiple volumes. I've set up a text file for the FindChangeByList.jsx to find the incorrect citations and replace them with the correct ones.But I want to retain the index markers in cases where the marker is inside the citation. My solution was to demarcate each case with « and » at the beginning and end of the citation, and then to find index markes between « and » and place them before «. For this I searched for the citations and replaced them with the found text with « and » around it: «$0» In the Find/Change dialog this worked, and the index markers were retained. However, when I did it via FindChangeByList.jsx, the marker itself disappeared, but a remnant remained, something like a blue colon. See below. If I copy and paste the blue colon into a find/change dialog box, it is pasted as ~I, i.e. index marker. But if I search for it, it's not found.Any ideas on how I can go about moving the index markers out

I am using InDesign CC 2017 on a Mac using OS 10.12.4. I can only see the frames when I click on the text with the pointer tool.   I want the option to leave the frames on, and have always been able to do this until now. I have the screen view set on normal at the bottom of the toolbox. Using View, Extras, Show frame edges doesn't work. Please advise.

Since the new latest version document which are sent for revies makes my InDesign extremly slow......EXTREMELY Slow for each adjustment....?Any other having the same problem? /Anders 

Hi, I've been working on a project for two months in InDesign, which was recently updated to InDesign 2025. As it has updated, it has created blank slides, but all my old files work normally. The file shows the thumbnail of my work to suggest that it is still there, however, it just opens 5 blank slides instead of a 40 page document with 28 slides filled in.  I have uninstalled the 2024 version and tried turning off the GPU, but it isn't available on my version of InDesign. I have even exported and saved it to IDML and re-opened it as an IDML file. I then tried looking at version history and it says the original date that I created it but it says there is no other version of my work. Is there anything else I can do as I feel as though I have done most things. Any help would be much appreciated as I have had to restart my work from scratch.

I don't know what is happening. I was able to pull photos in a data merge in the past without issues. But now it's not working correctly.   When it goes to pull the photo location to place the pictures, it keeps popping up that it can't find them because of the source file. It brings up this error:   The first half of that location is where the .csv file is saved. /Volumes/New Artwork/Artwork to Print/ARTWORK/Dealers/Dealer#4600-4699/4649 Interstate Ford/Holiday Cards/Drew Schendel/List/   and the second half is where the picture is saved.  S:\Calendar Cropped Photos\4649\0558856_0558856-R1-019-10.jpg   I don't know why it keeps thinking that they need to be together. I've checked the original Excel File and the CSV file to make sure they were written correctly and they are.   I've even made brand new files and put all the information in brand new. My company has a custom library of icons to use on various materials. To make this easily accessible across our marketing team, we built an Adobe Library so users can simply drag assets into their layouts. We intentionally included an un-filled, un-stroked square in each icon to help with visual alignment and consistent scaling. This works perfectly in Illustrator. However, InDesign ignores that square entirely, meaning just the icon itself appears.   This is a big problem for us. It will make it harder to spot inconsistent sizing and to properly visually align the icons. Adobe Library assets need to be treated consistently across Adobe products.   Is there a solution to prevent this issue? If not, I'd like to request this change be made (or at least a toggle be put in place in a library's options).   <Title renamed by MOD>  

Won't open at all. This is bull!

I recently had to erase and reformat my mac. I lost all my Adobe products in that process. Unfortunately, after reinstalling Creative Cloud, I discovered that InDesign 18.5.4 is not available for download. I need version 18.5.4 to work with plugin that pulls in company data. Is there any possibility of getting version 18.5.4???

I am using multi-state objects in a published online InDesign document. Everything is working, except that the multi-state objects are not printing. I have the buttons used for navigation and to control the states set to not print, which works. However, the multi-state objects should just print as the first state. What am I missing? I am trying to convince stakeholders that this is a viable solution. But if I can't get the images to print, this project is dead in the water. Hi everyone!I'm familiar with combining data from Excel into InDesign, but I'm having trouble figuring out if it's possible to place it all into the same text box.The fields should look something like this:"Name""Address""City"And then, the next person, like in a phone book or directory.So, the options I’m considering are:1. Creating a single box with three columns, where each set of data (Name, Address, City) appears one after the other.2. Keeping each text box separate, but finding a way to ensure the distance between each box remains consistent, even when the boxes contain different amounts of information. Thank you!!

I have a poetry group dead set on using the Electra font for their book I'm creating in inDesign. Is has been discontinued by Adobe since January 2023 as it is a type 1 font. If they were to purchase it for me, would i still be able to use it? Wouldnt it still be a type 1 font which Adobe says can no longer be used in inDesign? I dont know what to tell them. Does anyone else have issues with the InDesign Align tool numbers disappearing? This has been happening to me for years, across multiple computers and software licenses, so it's not just a one-off problem. Now it's even happening on my personal setup. I've tried everything—upgrading, downgrading, uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting my computer—but no luck. Hello ASC -  I find myself under pressure to create a few thousand COVID test results per day, with great urgency, using the excel output file of a molecular biology lab that does the work and needs to have it conveyed in a special PDF form to the government. I've solved all but the last steps of the process using DataMerge and the option to save as individual PDFs I can now generate the test bulletins. But for these tests to be distributed fast to hundreds of destinations and thousands of recipients, I need to be able to implement a naming protocol and this is where I got stuck. Each PDF should be named using a combination of specific fields from its content, such as test_result, pacient_name, test_date, test_place, etc I am relatively new to Indesign and have reached my competency limit with this one. I can probably crack it given enough time, but time is exactly what we lack. Can you help me please?

Hi, InDesign doesn't start at all. It starts downloading plugins, but after half an hour it freezes and closes. I had to Install V. 19.5 to work at the moment. Did you have the same issue?     <Title renamed by MOD>
