Ich versuche mit einer Excel-Tabelle einen Katalog mittels Datenzusammenführung zu erstellen.Beim Importieren der Tabelle (egal ob als .txt oder .xls) erkennt Indesign nicht, dass eine Spalte der Tabelle Pfade zu Bildern enthält. Es steht immer das (Text-)T vor der erkannten Spalte im Feld Datenzusammenführung. Auch das Umbenennen der Spalte in `@Fotos hat nicht geholfen.Was mache ich falsch? Die Bilder liegen alle im selben Ordner ab wie die Excel-Tabelle und auch die Pfade sind richtig eingetragen.

HiI'm using InDesign ver.  21 on Windows 11 laptopWe copy paste text from MS Word, which is formatted with 'Times New Roman'In Indesign file, we use 'Adobe Garamond Pro' for bodycopy.On rare intances, the single quote shows up as missing.We normally go for Find and Replace Any solutions for this, why it happens ?Thanks 

This is an odd one, I double click on an indesign file, indesign and the file opens up but indesign goes to the background on my Mac, and the finder to the foreground then the Mac doc appears and stays there, I have to then click on the indesign layout to bring it to the front, the doc still stays until I click on something else on the doc then it disappears. This started when an agency sent me a brochure to work on and now it is happening with every file I open. I have searched and not found anyone with the same problem. So far I have deleted the Indesign preferences and that didn't fix it, then updated to the latest indesign and that didn't work either. Both illustrator and photoshop are working great. I would be grateful for any advice. Thank you. My set up is: Mac Studio 2023, 64GB ram, Sequoia 15.7.1, Indesign 2026.

Hi everyone,I am facing a critical issue with a corrupted InDesign file that I cannot open.File details:Size: 1,712 KB (So data seems to be present).Issue: The file crashes InDesign immediately upon opening or hangs indefinitely.Troubleshooting steps I have already tried (without success):Resetting InDesign Preferences (Ctrl+Alt+Shift / Cmd+Opt+Ctrl+Shift).Trying to place the file into a new document.Running a "Blind Open" script to export to IDML (script fails or crashes).Changing the extension to .indt.Renaming the Links folder to force missing links.Since the file is not 0kb, I am hoping the internal database can still be salvaged.Could someone with Markzware tools or advanced recovery skills please take a look? I experienced this alert and crash of Indesign during the last days and I can't work with thos files again.I tried to open them in another computer with another Indesign version - but faced the same result: "unhide spread" followed Indesign crash

why is this exorting with a transparancy (pic 1) if in the doc (pic 2) it doesn't have any of it!? 

I am reporting a regression in InDesign 2025–2026.When pasting even very simple vector artwork from Adobe Illustrator, InDesign displays the warning:“This command would create a large number of page items and would severely degrade performance. Data will be placed as embedded EPS.”After confirming the warning, the pasted object becomes non-editable:- Ungroup is unavailable- Fill and stroke cannot be edited- The object cannot be used as an image frameThis workflow worked correctly in earlier InDesign versions and appears to be a regression.I have filed a detailed bug report with reproduction steps and screenshots on InDesign UserVoice:👉 [PASTE YOUR USERVOICE LINK HERE]If this behavior is intentional, please advise on a supported workflow to convert Illustrator vectors into native editable InDesign paths.

Hi everyone,I'm currently using InDesign (Beta) on my Windows PC because my SnapDragon X Plus processor isn’t compatible with the standard version of InDesign. However, since this morning, the application won’t launch anymore. I immediately get the following error message:"Your InDesign (Beta) build has expired."The strange thing is that I already have the latest available version installed, which is 20.6.Do you know when it will be possible to use InDesign (Beta) again?Will a new build be released soon so we can continue working with it?Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi. I am experiencing disappearing text blocks. I import text into my InDesign document via the Place command. When I try to edit the document, and insert the cursor, either all or a portion of the entire text block disappears. I Control Z to recover and make my correction, save, and move on. When I spot another correction I repeat the process and the text block again disappears, not every time, but sporadically. The worst part is that the correction I had made previously also disappears, even though I have been Saving after every single correction/addition. This began in late Deccember. I have uninstalled and reinstalled InDesign. I have swapped out mouses. Same issue.

Ever since I bought it, the app have visual performance issues, making texts become invisible right aftes editing it, deforming fonts, having delays after copy and paste commands and many other issues that makes using the app really annoying. Anyone pls, knows whats the cause of such problem? Indesign is 21.1 and I have a RTX 5060, 16gb ram, i5 and the app runs from an SSD.Thanks in advance.

Using InDesign 21.1, I have a doc that is 8.5 in. x 10.5 in. Top and inside margins = 1.5 in; bottom and outside margins = 2 in. The pages reflect their parent pages accurately.I want use Adjust Layout to change the page size to 7 x 10.5 with top margin at 1.25 in and other 3 at 1 in.In Adjust Layout I set the width and height, unchecked Auto-adjust margins and entered the new margin values.Indd is not providing the margins I requested. In Document Setup the values are correct. When I reopen Adjust Layout the values are correct. But the page margins did not change on the parents or the body pages. (Page size changed accurately.)What am I missing?Thanks. 

Hi. Can anyone recommend a script that extracts individual pages from a multi-page document? I found some old ones but not sure if there's one for the current software. 

I am working on a book that has several chapters. I need to move Chapter 15 to 14. All the pages are linked by chapter. 1. Show me how to unlink a chapter.2. Show me how to then move the entire chapter so that it falls perfectly in sequence without distrubing the sequences of other chapters? If you can't do a video and upload here. send me simple steps with screen shots circling where to click.

I got a file at office which got corrupted (.ai file). I had to send its PDF into press printing at 300dpi. I tried setting up an indesign file and tried copy/pasting everything from illustrator to indesign. I wrote all the text but rest all graphics have now been copied/pasted from illustrator to indesign. Sometimes i got the message 'files will be copied as embedded EPS'. The resulting PDF from indesign turned out to be much lesser MB file size. The printer said that it might be a very low resolution file and bad for print. What could have caused this? To get my indesign file into a high resolution file what should i do now to fix it without having to redo all the work? Or should i redraw all images in photoshop and place file to indesign? I need help fast please

 This has been happening the last 24 hours after an uninstall and reinstall.I'm losing hours of work, what is going on?

I'm producing a document which has over 50 questions with multiple radio button answers set up in a table - Image attached. A button in the 'Your View' column and a button 'Our View' column can be active at the same time (so the green button in 'Your View' and a Green button in 'Our View' can both be active. However, when the 'N/A' Button at the end of the row is selected, it clears the buttons in that whole row. I do this in Acrobat by going into the settings of the 'N/A' radio button, and via 'Actions > On Focus> Reset Form > edit - and I select what other radio buttons I want switching off.   However, as there are soooo many questions and radio buttons in my document, I didn't know if there was a quicker way to do this? (maybe something I can set up in Indesign?) Rather than manually going into Acrobat after every PDF Save and editing each N/A button in every question row? (This is a document that might go through multiple version changes) also sorr

Hi, I desperately need advice. I am brand new to InDesign. I'm here to format my first book. So far I've created two documents in one book. Each document so far is about 8 pages long with one A parent. I have only created columns and page numbers so my files are tiny. I get damaged file, can't save, Error 0 every time I try to save. I can't get anywhere. Now when I launch InDesign I am getting a "Welcome to the InDesign Touch Workspace" page that I can't get past and and can't even open my files. I am totally lost and SOOOO frustrated!

Since I often work with different clients who have a specific color palette indicated in the Guideline, I created the COLOR Libraries for each one, implementing them over the years. So they can be used in the 3 Adobe programs: Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop (and wherever you can use it as it is very useful. Now I run into a big problem: InDesign doesn't treat the "gradient" swatch as normally as it does in Adobe Illustrator. In fact I would say that it has been doing it for some time: if you save the gradient it saves you a separate file with the gradient. Illustrator instead saves a Gradient sample. It's just not possible to make InDesign consistent with other programs. Because it works well in Illustrator while in Indesign it is decidedly more complex and not very useful. Thanks for listening.

This behavior appears to be new in InDesign 21.0.2. In earlier versions, when InDesign was open with a document and you opened another document, the application window did not resize; the new document opened in a new tab within the same window. In InDesign 21.0.2, if you have a window open with a document you are working on and then open another document, the window’s width suddenly expands to accommodate the new document. If your InDesign window is sized just wide enough for the current document and positioned on the right side of the screen so you can work with other applications simultaneously, the window now stretches far beyond the right edge of the screen. As a result, you may only see the left edge of the newly opened document. If the window size remained unchanged, the new document would be visible centered within the existing window. Users size their windows to meet their needs. InDesign shouldn't override that and think it knows a better window size.

Having problems in last month with pins unmapping between SRL and Indd. Anyone else experiencing this? Commonalities: mac user mixed with HP users, human error of design boxes being moved or deleted. Inconsistent occurrence.

Estoy trabajando un libro dec 372 paginas y esot aplicando correcciones pagina por pagina. de pronto un spre3ad de dos paginas enfrentadas salen los cuadros de las fotos blamncos y el fondo del spread transparente y sin textos. todo las demas paginas se ven perfectas. que puede ser y como corregirlo?
