Photoshop

I'm trying to update Photoshop to version 27.1. It starts at 1% and stops there for a while. Then it gets to 17% or 38% or 43%. In the meantime it totally freezes my computer. Then the update stops with the comment that there is an update for Photoshop. Only after the 20th or 30th attempt does it finally work.I have spoken to 4 different Adobe agents, none of whom were able to come with a solution.The problem is not my internet connection or speed, not my antivirus or firewall, not the driver of my graphics card, not my graphic card, not my hosts file. Totally removing and re-installing Creative Cloud Desktop didn't work either.This is not a recent problem. This happens during I would say the last 2 or 3 years. Under Windows 10 and Windows 11.I hope anyone knows a solution.

Environment:- macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 (Apple Silicon)- Photoshop (latest)- Wacom Pen TabletIssue:- With GPU enabled, Liquify is very laggy ONLY when using a Wacom pen tablet.- Liquify is smooth with a mouse or trackpad.- Normal brush tools are smooth with the pen.Workaround:- Disabling “Use Graphics Processor” makes Liquify smooth with the pen,but causes other Photoshop features to become slow or unavailable.Summary:This looks like a Liquify-specific GPU/Metal pen input issue on macOS.The problem is fully reproducible.

I have looked at multiple YouTube tutorials but can't find an answer.If I am drawing a shape, and I make one curved line from point A to point B, when I make point C, how do I make the line curve in a different direction? In the screenshot, I would like the second line (from point B to C) to go along the red dotted line.Thank you in advance! 

Why would you have a limit on generative Ai and not tell anyone? Furthermore, why would you think that was okay? did you think it was "good" enough to limit? because i can tell you right now i go through at least 50 generative Ai requests before it even comes remotely close to what i'm asking for. So please enlighten me on why you would think it was a good idea to not even have a generic free version like the first one you put up? because at least that would help smaller issues. Like background replacing and such. You have set me back at least a few weeks on something that couldve been done within a day. Shame on you.

I will soon move to a new computer. I am moving from a 2017 Intel iMac running Ventura to a Mac M4Pro Mini running sequoia or Tahoe. It will arrive Monday and if it has Sequoia, I will update to Tahoe as a first step in setting up. I am a Creative Cloud subscriber, all my apps are current —except for LR which no longer is updated for my machine—so I plan to simply download to the new machine a new install of my apps from CC.1) How do I best handle moving my LR catalogs from the old machine to the new one?2) And my second question is about PS plugins. On my current machine I have multiple versions of PS, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2026. Can I copy and transfer the most recent plugins from PS to the new install on the new machine, or is there some other process? I also plan to do new installs of those apps referenced in PlugIns, eg the Topaz suite and Q Image One. If I do that would they automatically install the plugins making my effort to move them unnecessary?Appreciate any advice and TIA

As of 1:00 PM PST today. Topaz Gigapixel for Generative Upscale giving an error message: "We have encountered an issue and cannot complete your request at this time. Please try again.  I'm running lattest version of PS 2026 27.1.0. I've tried signing out of Cretive Cloud signing back in, restarting both PS and my computer, also cleared using Edit-Purge-Clear All Cache. I only get this error message when trying to use the new "Topaz Gigapixel" upscaling. This feature was working just fine earlier today. I can still use the "Firefly Upscaler" at both 2x and 4x. I'm testing this feature for my company and need to get this fixed asap. Any help fixing this asap would be much appricated.  

Is there anyone who works with transparent backgrounds in Photoshop and video, where the background of the video should be transparent? I have a video sequence downloaded from Stock (Green background) - where I can't get an alpha channel to work. I've tried both with video and with converting the video to a smart object. I've also tried with a video from Firefly - where I've added two video clips (Foreground video and alpha channel video) But I don't get the option to turn on the alpha channel.How does this works? Please help me ...

I want to provide feedback (and a complaint) about the generative AI features in Photoshop. I am a paying Creative Cloud subscriber, and I have been using the generative tools that require Firefly generative credits.The main issue is that the generated faces do not resemble the reference faces or descriptions I provide. No matter how carefully I prepare the prompt or reference, the output faces come out completely different. As a result, I am repeatedly wasting generative credits on unusable results.Because I pay a monthly subscription and a limited number of generative credits are included, this feels frustrating and poor value. The contexual task bar is an incredibly handy feature, but when typing in text bubbles, I find that it can often obstruct a large portion of the text bubble whenever it adjusts its position for a new text layer. It makes it hard to center the text without having to move the contextual task bar. Having an option to anchor, or to lock it in place would be a great quality of life feature.

Hi! After updating Photoshop, my toolbar suddenly stopped displaying icons correctly. All I see is a tall gray bar with empty spaces where tools should be. A few icons (such as the brush or color swatches) are visible, but most are missing or invisible.   How can this be done?

The list of profiles shown in the Print dialog should match that visible in the Convert to Profile dialog.  In thirty years of working with color management, inventing tools for color management, developing software for color management, teaching color management, and using it, I've never seen a profiles list that's such a mess.  It fails to load at least most of the profiles stored in every single one of the correct profile directories.  But it does load profiles that can't be found in any of those directories or in packages installed in locations like /Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/ICCProfiiles/[package], except that on one of my two Macs (both M1 machines running Sonoma) it does list that package's 45 profiles in their own section right at the top. Pleases don't try to foolishly second guess what profiles we can or should be able to select for any kind of conversion.  It's up to us to pick a printer profile and we absolutely must not be arb

This is driving me bananas. I've inherited some banner files, and the text box must have been transformed to a tiny percent of the original. When I use the cmd-shift-> shortcut, the size goes up by 0.07 points. Cmd-opt-shift-> brings it all the way up to 0.37 points. (Of course this is 0.075/0.375 pts; thanks for the precision.) If I make a new type layer with the same fonts, that type behaves normally, ie, 1 pt/5 pt increments.  How on earth do I reset the transformation so I can make changes to these files? I've looked everywhere. Yes, I've reset preferences and the font cache, and restarted the Mac (Mini M4, Sequoia). Tried it on my old Air (Ventura) and it's the same. I'm just trying to get some work done here.

I updated to Photoshop 27.1 this morning. My clone stamp tool and patch tool were working fine before the update. After the update, while trying to use either tool, I get the result shown in the photos attached. I click the mouse one time and get what you see. Please help!

I want to enlarge a single character in a row or rotate just a single character in a row that I'm typing. Which keyboard shortcut do I need to press?

In the old days, if i wanted black in Photoshop, I would go to the color picker, select black and be on my merry way.Now, when I select black, I may get dark green, I may get dark red, nut it takes at least five attempts to actuatly get black.  This includes multiple times typing 0,0,0 in the color picker.This is driving me up a wall!  I'm sure there's an easy fix, but I can't find it. Please help!!! 

Does anyone know how to recover a file in this situation? I usually press Ctrl + S very frequently, but at that moment I was just finishing some small color adjustments to submit the artwork since the deadline was December 18. I had already been working on the piece for 4–5 days.I also checked the AutoRecover folder, but the file there was empty

My question's exactly as the subject - I'd like to be able to have fore to back as a default gradient and black to white as a default when masking, it used to work that way but now I can never be sure what gradient and why appears when I switch to gradient tool. Resetting tool does not really help - meaning it helps sometimes and I have to do it either every time I start the program or even for a new document, it's hindering and extremely inocvenient 😞

My colleague has shared a Photoshop cloud document for me to review. When I open it up inside Photoshop I can add comments in the comment section but I have no idea how I put a pin inside the actual document to show what I actually comment. Inside the Comment panel in PS it says "Give feedback, ask questions, or start a discussion in the comments. You can also place a pin to annotate this view." How do I place that pin?   The reason I don't want to use the Adobe online tool with the file is that it's CMYK an I need to be able to analyse the proper pixels and color proof etc.   I'm using version 27.1.0 on a silicon mac.

Hi, I frequently work with several Blender instances alongside Photoshop, which puts a heavy load on the GPU. Crashes are expected and not really an issue, but once they happen I can no longer launch any Adobe applications. They appear in the task list but never fully start, and the only way to recover is to reboot the PC. I’ve already tried ending all Adobe background processes or GPU-related services, but it doesn’t resolve the problem. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.Config:- Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2- RTX3090 24Gb- 64Gb RAM- Ryzen 5 5600x
