Photoshop

Hello, I'm trying to create a custom shape with an image, and the. feather the edges, but for some reason no matter what steps I try following, I can't get any blur effect to apply only to the edges and I can't get the image edges to feather, in general. I could entirely not be doing something correctly, or maybe there's a setting somewhere that I'm missing. I am trying to complete this in a timely manner, I'm working on a time sensitive project, so I'm hoping someone sees this and can help me out. 

I am a longtime photoshop user. Suddenly every tool I select a how-to video pops up and I can't use the tool. ALSO, on every photo I open, there is a stationary crop box in the middle of the photo that I can't move. I can't crop. I can't do anything. I have turned off my computer, uninstalled ALL apps and reinstalled. Been trying to fix for five days and am on a severe deadline of TODAY!!! Help!\

I have lost the ability to open Intel based photoshop for some reason on my M1 mac & I am not sure why. All of my other M1 versions have the option to open up the Intel based versions, but my photoshop has now stopped. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still no luck. Has anyone else experienced and fixed this issue. Really needing access to some of my plugins that havent been updated.

When I start all Adobe programmes including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator from my office computer, it has not been working at all, which had worked well for a couple of weeks. It shows only white screen without anything as shown in below screenshot:  I tried my best to find out the solution, by (1) uninstall all current Adobe product including the Illustrator, (2) install them again, (3) Press and hold "Alt," "Control" and "Shift" at the same time as the program launched, and delete all current settings (4) press print screen to capture (5) uninstall current products and install old version and upgrade it..... all measures I tried, but no vail.  I desperately need to work Photoshop and other Adobe programmes on my working computer in the officer.   Thank you for your support. 

As you can see by the gif, when using the large preview image, this problem is not too noticeable, but when using the small preview image, I often select the wrong layer, I hope this can be fixed as soon as possible, it has been there for a long time!As you can see, if you double-click, theThe layer selection will return to normal, with the correct layer selected 

Hi,  I was wondering if someone could help me out. My son wants a laptop for using photoshop and I have to choose between these two computers,  AcerSwift 3 Laptop - 14in FHD IPS, AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD - Silver AcerAspire 3 A315-59 - 15.6in - Intel Core i5 - 16GB RAM - 512GB SSD I get that there may be way better laptops out there, but it is more than likely going to be between these two. If anyone who understands computer specs could let me know which one of these would be better, that would be a ton of help.  Thanks in advance 

Hello, I am an interior designer, and one service we offer clients is photoshopping exterior finishes onto 2D elevation drawings of their home's exterior, to show different colour/material options. Previously, I would import the PDF from the draftsperson and it would open with a completely transparent background, and only the black lines. Perfect. All of a sudden now, it is importing with a white background, and in order for me to have the lines on their own layer with a transparent background to add in new images of colours/materials, I have to go through and delete every single white pixel. I have very basic photoshop skills. Is there an easier way to do this?? I have tried asking the draftsperson to export the PDF a different way. They have even sent over PNG's of the elevations which still open in photoshop with a white background.I tried adjusting the tolerances with the magic wand tool but it still doesn't get everything and I have to go back through to d

I'm trying to run a script in Photoshop, and one of the things it does is update a smart object, and it was working recently, but it's now throwing this error: "error: General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop -The command "Replace Contents" is not currently available." After I updated my Photoshop, has anyone seen this error?

PS mobile on latest iOS and app version. "Add to" / "remove from mask" feature is broken, specifically the remove portion. Only adding is allowed. This has been broken for a few weeks and has halted my mobile workflow.

You can notice in this PSD document top layer [stone] is switch off. If I press & hold the SHIFT key & doble click this top layer a new transperent file is opned with black color text on it. I uploaded a PNG image I created to an online printer. They say they need the image changed from RGB to CMYK. How do I do this?

Magnification 300-400xIt's so obviously jagged that it doesn't really seem to be vectorized, only graphical.A bit disconcerting.

So this is the message I keep getting after I open a new Raw image and want to go into Camera Raw. The rest of the message says,,,, Convert document to another profile to apply the Camera Raw Filter. Can anyone help with this? These are images that are just pend up into PS and no editing has been done yet since I use Camera Raw before I do anything else.

Estou tendo problemas para usar a ferramenta dissolver, do nada dá erro. Ja fiz de tudo e nada resolve. 

After the previous update, I can't active the Type tool in Photoshop by hitting T. It will switch to it, then immediately switch back to whatever the previous tool was. If you click T and click the image fast enough, sometimes you can catch it. I was hoping the next update would fix it, but it did not. I use the Type tool a lot, so this is not great behavior.

I have been holding back my upgrade of MacOS to Sonoma 14.7 while the latest upgrade now is Sequoia 15.7.  This is still not compatible with Adobe LR and PS.  This is a real problem for other applications.  When can we expect the upgrade to be ok?

Hello, Can someone please explain to me what actually happens when you use photoshop with Windows set to 1920x1080 on a display with a 3840x2160 native resolution? For example, is the image quality reduced when running in 1920x1080? If so, I can't really notice a difference with the image quality. I see the UI is much different. Then again, I really have no way to compare the two side by side. I have cs6 and have to run it with Windows set to 1920x1080 due to the UI. Would the actual image quality be better in photoshop if I run it with Windows in 3840x2160? I have a 75" display and in 4k, that 59ppi. I heard someone say cs6 was designed for 96ppi. Since my display is less than that,(59ppi) should there be any issue? For example, I understand its only an issue when the display has a higher ppi than 96. Bottom line, I was thinking about getting a professional cameras but there is no point if using cs6 in 1920x1080 on a 4k display reduces the quality.  Pleas

I use the image processor in Photoshop to add my watermark to images. I recently got a new watermark and re-created the same action steps that were in my old watermarking actions. However, when I run the image processor on images that i zoomed in and cropped in camera, the watermark comes out Huge, while the non-cropped images, the watermark is placed as it should. Any idea on how to get the watermark to be the regular size on all images?  I have read through different topics here in the community but have not come across one that works. I watched a youtube video on how to properly create and align the watermark but that has not helped. I am working on a windows pc with the latest version of photoshop. Below is an image of my actions used when it worked properly. Any help is appreciated.

I am not placing this in BUG form... because it is there already AND STILL NOT FIXED!!!! Seems that this happens all too often where I click to scale a SO or linked file, the layer sticks to my cursor and I am unable to scale, it just follows my cursor until I click, hereby moving that layer elsewhere. 

I have taken 150 images and created a single image of star trails.  I want to use these same images and create a video that shows the actual movement of the stars.  I've seen a few videos of this and want to try it.  BTW....I think I need to redo the final image that I'm sharing here and remove the lens correction.  Could that be adding the distortion in the sky?
