Photoshop

Hi,I am working on big projects with multiple stack photo and it take up to 18-25 Gig of ram per project. So when I want to switch on another project I try to close the project before openning the other one so it could Free up some ram, but it doesn't. I tried to purge the cache but it does nothing when no project is open. the only way to free the ram from photoshop is to close it and then wait for 1 min so the process can close and then re-open photoshop.I want to know if there is a way to clear the ram when closing a project? so i can work on others projects

Hi all. a few years ago I downloaded a sports template with two square "permanent" areas that I could paste photos into, and don't have that template. THATS fine.....but how do I create one?? essentially it's an area (say a square) that hats saved on the template/file and I can paste into that selection. AND the photo pasted goes into that selection only.  I've googled a bit and found something where I can save a selection? Thatsounds like it might work I'm using v26.x all help is appreciated. 

Hey there, my recently bought Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X with AMD Ryzen 7 6800HS Creator Edition 3.20 GHz and RAM 16GB, with a battery normally lasting up to 6 hours, gets hot (especially when using the pen) and lasts 2 hours when I use photoshop. I just learned how to use it, it´s the 2023 version but I don´t know which exact update. What can I do? It also heats up and drains the battery whenever I use premiere, I bet it will last way less when I learn AE. Btw, this only happens with Adobe programs and sometimes with games. I think it´s a laptop issue but I wanted to post it on here either way. Thanks.

Bonjour,Depuis quelques jours, je rencontre un souci avec adobe Photoshop 2025. Je ne parviens plus à redimensionner les images correctement. Merci de m’aider à résoudre ce problème.

I have an image post processed in ACR; saved as a jpg. Copied it, resized, exported with Save for Web [legacy] in PS and saved as a jpg. But its too large, so using the original full size jpg image I copied it again, resized it but now when I export with Save for Web [legacy] in Ps it does not allow it to be saved as a jpg. It only offers “Images only, HTML or both.” The original image I’m working from and the first resize are saved as jpg. So there is not a 16 bit issue or layers involved. Preferences => File Handling => Enable Legacy ‘Save As’ is ticked. I also tried Export => Export As => jpg but with that it’s over 1 MB which is too big b/c this is for the web. What is wrong? It saved as jpg now it won’t. How do I fix this so resized images can be Save for the Web [legacy] as jpg? I’ve tried more than one image and cannot save any of them as jpg now. Thank you in advance  NOTE: This message appeared when I clicked POST:Your post has been changed

I loaded up a .PNG into PS. As I readied myself for the task, I accidentally pressed the 'F' key. I pushed it several times until the program was back to normal. Except now, I cannot draw, fill, erase...nada. All I have is the prohibition symbol (circle with a diagonal line through it). I tried resetting the tools, the Essentials workspace, etc. What's the magic key to fixing this?

I've noticed that the Select Sky feature in Photoshop and in Adobe Camera Raw can produce slightly different results.  From that I'm taking the leep and suspecting that there are slightly different algorithms or different implementations of the algorithm in the two products.  If you've noticed this difference and have an opinion as to which one does the better job, I'd be interesting in hearing what you think.

That's say I have file C, which contains a link to file B and has a link to file A. I'm trying to switch to non-destructive eiditing where I've already been destructively editing iles A B & C. Ideally I want a way to comprehensively track many file links including recursive links (linked files that contain their own links). Perhaps an equivalent of <link removed> each dot is a file and each line is a link, if file A links file B then it will two dots and a line for them.  

Hi, I am trying to record an action.Sky replacement / Adjust brightness to 100 / OK / unclick foreground lightning. Even thought Adjust brightness shows at 100 int the action menau breakdown, it is not being applied to my photo.Any idea how I can fix that? Thanks 

I am almost constantly getting "encountered an issue" when using gen fill on images with a femal present pretty much *anywhere* in the image. I am wastings hours and hours removing the females from the image, retrying the fill - which works - and then pasting the females back into the image. Is there any way to prevent this? It has gotten really bad lately. I am on version 26.4.1 on Windows 11. Possibly related, it seems after the latest updates, my Adobe account seemed to have forgotten who I was and what country I am in. I had gone through all of this before and I had to compeletely uninstall all my Adobe software and reinstall. Also, I've noticed lately that the generative file - when it works - leaves very noticeable lines around the edges of the replaced section. It used to work great but now it is usually starkly different. I wish the things that used to work fine would just stay working fine. Very frustrating.

I am quite new to photoshop on the iPad, and as I am trying to color a drawing, these dropshaped blots of color show up. I have no idea how they got there, or how to get rid of them. I do not even know how to google  it.   Please, they are wicked annoying!, and have no function as far as I can tell!   Thanks in advance for all and any help!

Looking to upgrade my wife's old iMac with a new M4 Macbook that will perform well with current version of Photoshop.  She is skilled hobby photographer with strong Photoshop skills, & tends to keep her Macs for 5+ years.  Primary Photoshop use will be still photo editing of RAW images from her Digital SLRs. These files are typically 20-30MB.   We are considering these two Macbook configurations:Macbook Air 13" M4 24GB Memory, 1TB SSDMacbook Pro 14" M4 24GB Memory, 1TB SSD  We want 1TB storage to future-proof room for personal files and 100GB+ additional space for scratch files.  There are positive Youtube reviews of Macbook Air M4s with 24GB of memory doing video rendering, so we were hoping that for still editing, this would be a good balance of current performance, budget, and future-proofing.  We would appreciate feedback from current Mac Photoshop users on pros & cons of the two machines above, and particularly whether the upgrade to

I am using a Wacom touchscreen on my Mac, and the latest driver is installed. However, when I try to rotate, drag, or zoom the image, I can't do all of them simultaneously like what I could do on my ipad. I can only perform one action at a time, then do the next one. Hope anyone knowing how to solve this.

Hello,   I have seen a number of posts where users have had the same question. Most responses point to GPU settings in your Preferences or enabling gestures period. These are not the answer to the issue. I use a Cintiq 24, touch enabled, and the two finger rotation features works perfect in every other drawing program, even Adobe's own Fresco. With Photoshop, there is an intentionally programmed 'hold' with the two-finger touch for rotation. See the documentation:Photoshop Touch capabilities and customizable workspaces    You have to hold the initial two finger touch motionless for a few before rotation becomes active. This is extremely detrimental to a smooth workflow or an efficient drawing experience. You have to wait, resting the two finger touch for about a second before you can continue to navigate the canvas. Might not seem like much, but this adds up over the course of a drawing that has 100's and 1,000's of strokes.   Can anyone suggest how t

I'm considering purchasing the pro version of Photoroom, which I'm reluctant to do, since I already have the expensive Creative Cloud.What I like about Photoroom is that it offers batch processing of images and I wonder if the same functionality can be automated in PS: https://www.photoroom.com/tools/batch-modeDoes anyone use PS for this type of work? Good morningI have thousands of old scans and old photo’s (from first digital camera’s) that I would like to ‘refresh’ in batch. With refresh I mean Contrast and Colour correction, removal of dust, scratches and upscale the resolution.  Some are in pretty good state, just having a low resolution. But others are scans from old negatives, that have a brown yellowish colour tint. There are way to many phots and scans to do this manual. What is the best Adobe tool (photoshop, Lightroom,…) and process to use for this ? I attached 2 examples, but in the full set I want to 'resfresh' there is a mix of issues to fix not only restoring colour. Thanks for the help,Erick

Hallo zusammen! Ich muss für eine Kundin ein 3D-generiertes Bild von einem Anlasser überarbeiten. Das 3D-Bild ist zu glänzend und zu hell. Die Beispielbilder im Anhang zeigen den Stand des Jobs. "3D-version_shiny.png" ist die Ausgangsdatei, "3D_overworked.png" passt schon von Helligkeit und Kontrast her, die Zieloberfläche von "Product-Shot.png" habe ich aber noch nicht erreicht. Die Oberflächenstruktur auf dem Produkt heißt "Hammerschlag". Wer mal mit Metallen zu tun hatte, kennt diese Oberfläche. Daher meine Frage: Gibt es so etwas als Filter? Thanks for help.

Hi, the Generate background tool work great a couple weeks ago. I don't know what happened with the new update, the results are way worse. The background generated no longer integrates properly the original object. Please find attached some images from 20 days ago and the ones done today. All done with the same prompt.Thank you in advance

 Hello All-  Starting with  some history. My 2010 iMac crashed in 2019. I had CCC and Time Machine backups saved. The new 2019 iMac was bought June 2019 and never powered up until a few weeks ago due to job transfer to NIH. I’m back due to the Regime change. The new iMac features 27” Retina, 3.6 GHz, 8-core Intel i9 processor, 72 GB 2666 DDR4 Ram,2 TB SSD internal Drive,Radeon Pro Vega 48 w/8 GB HBM2 GPU, and Ext Optical Superdrive CD/DVD/BLU-RAY/M-Disk. I originally thought it had Catalina OS but found it shipped with Majave (luck would have it). I have run Photoshop since Ps 5 and ended with Ps CS5 Extended. I'm invested with lots of DVD tutorials, books etc. When Ps subscriptions to the icloud came out I was determined not to do it. Everything sat till the current Regime canned my ass after years at NIH. Thought I was back on track till yesterday. I backed up the new Mojave on the 2019 a couple days ago never been used. From my CCC off the old 2010 iMac
