Photoshop

I've used ~ to toggle the brush to clear mode for as long as I can remember, but it has recently stopped working. I checked my keyboard shortcuts and the setting still appears to be correct, but it doesn't actually toggle back and forth between normal and clear modes for the brush any longer.  I've checked several forums and found no solutions that work for me.

Hi Adobe team, I’d love to suggest a small but very useful feature for Photoshop: a “Recent Colors” panel – similar to how we have recent fonts. The idea is to automatically display the last 5–10 colors used in the project (both fill and stroke), so users can easily reselect them without manually saving to swatches. This would significantly speed up the workflow, especially for designers and illustrators who reuse specific tones throughout a composition. Bonus: if the recent colors could sync per document, or even across projects via Creative Cloud, it would make color consistency much easier. Would love to hear what others think. Thanks!

Hey Everyone. I got stuck in this particular question where I want to save a custom pallate but I'm not able to do that because of some glitch Ig. So could you please guide me step by step on how do I do that I have successfully created a folder and after adding the single color, rest of the colors i am unable to add it. So could u plz guide me step by step how do I do that. I have only this particular pallate in swatches. So I want to add the custom Colors in the swatches in a specific group. So how do I do that? I'm a complete beginner and can't upgrade my software to the latest 1s. So could u plz guide me step by step on how do I do that in photoshop 2021 version in wacom one tab in windows 11 laptop. I'm unable to share the pic so basically I have only swatches tab at the moment in my software. So please guide me accordingly n also u can share the pics/ screenshots accordingly 

I shoot in raw + jpeg on my sony a7iv, and normally when i put a raw file into photoshop it opens in camera raw as the actual arw file. but some reason now whenever i open it, it opens in camera raw as a the jpg file. when i open it on my computer it normally shows the jpg preview but then renders the actual raw image but in photoshop its only showing the jpg. my raw files are all .arw and stay in arw when opened. ive attatched screenshots of all my camera raw settings and what opens compared to the jpg and arw.

There are several problems1. When all images have been denoised, apply the denoising settings again in batches. Even if the parameters are the same as before, denoise again.2. You know, noise reduction itself is very time-consuming. It may take an hour to denoise 300 photos at a time. If Photoshop crashes during the process or I quit it without clicking Finish, all the previous work will be wasted.3. In previous versions, denoising by generating DNG did not have the above problems.

I'm having an issue where I've created a layered photoshop document and saved it as a .psd. I open illustrator and select to Place the photoshop file into the document. As I place the .psd art, only one layer from the photoshop file is showing up versus the full piece of art.The first image shows my photoshop file with layers, the second photo shows me trying to place it into illustrator. I'm using '20. 

My Photoshop CC does not have Appearance panel. Window menu also does not have Appearance menu item to open it. Shift + F6 also doesn't work. Is it broken? or the feature totally removed from Photoshop?     [ "2018" added to subject line by moderator, as this post from May 2018 is now drawing replies four years later ]  

I was editing a picture in Photoshop, and it was going completely normally. Then I went to Quick Export as PNG, and when I pressed it, it said, "Can no longer use GPU, so will use CPU to export. You can re-enable GPU acceleration in Preferences." So i pressed ok then, I went to Preferences, and Use GPU is still checked, so I unchecked it and re-checked it, and then I pressed OK. And then Photoshop gave me an error saying, We're unable to complete this action due to an error, and it didn't say what the error was or anything. And then I checked my desktop where I was exporting it to, and it just exported the base image, like, the background image that I started with, with none of the edits to it or anything. And it didn't even have the name I gave it when I pressed Export, it just had the normal name it started with. And the preview in Photoshop just randomly went black after closing preferences, and then I tried to save the project so I don't lose it and when I pressed Save, it says, We

I'm having this irritating problem where everytime I select a different layer or group, the Quick Mask channel is automatically selected. This forces me to switch to the Channels tab and select the RGB channel before I can perform work on a layer. Why is Photoshop automatically selecting the Quick Mask layer when switching between layers? I can't seem to find a setting for this and I'm not sure why, all of the sudden, it started doing this. Does anyone know how to stop this madness?Thanks!

I’m using a MacBook Pro 2024 with an M3 Pro chip. In Photoshop 2025, Camera Raw 17.4.1 does not detect the GPU — the “Use Graphics Processor” option is greyed out. I tried Rosetta mode, resetting preferences, Terminal override, and reinstalling — nothing works. My laptop and applications are up to date. Please add M3 GPU support. I edit in Camera Raw from Adobe Bridge for simple edits, but I keep getting the same notices, reading: "Camera Raw graphics acceleration is not supported by your system" or "Camera Raw requires GPU acceleration to edit photos." What could this mean? My system is pretty advanced, is that the problem? What else can I do? 

After the most recent update, camera raw no longer opens the edited photo in photoshop by clicking the open option, normal open or smart object option.    When I click open it just goes back to Adobe Bridge main screen.  I then have to right click open with Photoshop, it will open camera raw again, and then if I click open it finally opens in PS.   Why am I having to go thru these extra steps to open in PS?    

Hi, i have a problem with missing symbols in my sidebar (screenshot). The default symbols are not shwon. Also the same in the settings dialog. A downgrade to 26.8 changes nothing. In the moment i have the 26.8.1  

Recently I noticed that when selecting an image file, there is an Edit with Adobe item in the context menu. How do I get rid of it?   The Photoshop version is 26.8.1, and the Adobe Creative Cloud version is 6.7.0.278.

ik heb een probleem bij het gebruik in photoshop "tool verwijderen" .wanneer ik deze wil gebruiken komt er een blauw cirkeltje te voorschijn en word mijn foto verwijderd .de pc loopt vast en moet ik opnieuw opstarten om verder te kunnen doen . wat zou ik eventueel kunnen doen ?  

I run the latest versions of PS et LR classic on a brand new W11 PC with U9 processor.  When I launch PS from LR (Edit in PS 2025) PS freezes during 30 to 60 mins. There is processing going on with with approx 6% of the power utilized by PS. After this freeze the image finaly opens.This makes the integration between LR and PS unusable. Have you experienced the same issue?  How to fix it?  Note that I have already reinstalled the two products but it has no impact.Thanks for your help.

Hello, while i'm drawing if i fat finger on "<" key, it changes my brush settings to a soft brush, i could not find that key in tools etc, and i've already tried to reset all the settings, plus i can't find an answer online, i have a Huion Kamvas 24 plus and the latest version of Photoshop, 26.8.1.Thanks in advance

Photoshop 26.8, Mac OS 15.5 From a CMYK images:Export CLUT Layer as an ICC DeviceLink profile;The CMYK ICC DeviceLink profile is created but, the OUTPUT curve are inverted.See attached picture: LEFT: correct output curves. RIGHT: Output curves of the ICC Devicelink profile exported form Photoshop are INVERTED.So, when loading the ICC devivceLink profile as CLUT Layer or doing a Convert color using the deviceLink profile, the color are inverted.  

The Remove Tool although a great start, is still under performing. During the PS perodic updates I recall seeing updates to the app. However, what I believe to be an easy removal took 3 attempts before I finally had to use the Clone Stamp tool to clean it up.  Really be nice if Adobe had a Changelog to record in detail what was changed during the update.

One year ago, same version, I could type "Blue blouse" and an almost perfect one appears, even in the messiest of the photos. Now all of a sudden, a woman staring clear on, 4k photo, type "blue blouse" I get a striped blue/red blouse, 40 buttons all over the place and she's holding a stop sign.... Like what the actual [removed by moderator] are you guys doing? This isnt even worth paying for anymore. 

When I create a "new" document it stores them in an ever expanding list.  I can't figure out how to delete all these saved templates.  One is 3000000 x 300000 pixels. I have no idea how that got created and now I'm up to 20  and I want to delete about ha

When I select part of a photograph using, say a oblong selection tool, I get the marching ants. Is there a way that I can get the marching ants but also black out the area not selected. I find it difficult to visualise the finished object until I crop, then often need to go back and reposition the selection box. I would like to be able to move the selected area around, with the background blacked out to get my composition correct, then crop the part I want. I hope you understand what I mean.

The issue: I open an image in PhotoshopLaunch Luminar Neo via Filter > Skylum Software > Luminar NeoDo my edits in Luminar NeoClick “Apply” to return the image to PhotoshopThe image returns to Photoshop as a completely black layer — no visual content Notes: Luminar Neo works fine as a standalone appThe issue only happens when returning to Photoshop 

So i recently got Photography 1 year plan and i read alot about the credits. It's still unclear to me what our future is. I thought it was "Once you run out of credits, you can continue using Gen AI but at a slower speed", and then people say it doesn't even get slower (i have not run out yet but i have only been using it for 5 days). Then i just noticed all the times they say "Limited time" in all the terms about Generative Credits.. like in my Adobe account under credits it says:"When you're running low on credits, continue generating content at no additional cost for a limited time. Learn More"or"For a limited time, Creative Cloud, Adobe Express, and Adobe Stock paid subscribers won't be subject to generative credit limits and can continue creating beyond their plan-specific monthly credit limit to create vector graphics or standard resolution images*."Does that mean eventually they will start to just straight up CUT OFF generative functions COMPLETELY if you run out of credits
