Photoshop

I just switched from Photopea to test Photoshop (again after few years). Rectangular Marquee tool:I’m working on sprite sheets with pixel precision. I need to select some things and I need to be pixel-perfect. In Photopea I can just start selection zoom out and zoom in the different part of canvas and just end selection there. In Photoshop when I zoom out tool already lost my selection starting point because CTRL+ALT+scroll down moves my selection in different places. I can’t even zoom in somewhere else because with this tool I can zoom in and zoom out in the same place without moving.Brush/Erase tool:When I click brush/erase in one place and zoom out and zoom in somewhere else and I click with shift - there is no straight line, just another brush/erase point. Why?In my workflow dynamic zooming in and out is very important and it makes my work much faster.I just installed Photoshop and I have default settings.

I never encountered this issue as bad until updating to the 2025 version. I have been trying to edit wedding clients, ELDERY CLIENTS, peoples selfies. GenFill Community guidelines instantly deny any single photo involving a woman. All of these would have been do-able prior to the upgrade. It could be her face; none of my shoots have been anything remotely NSFW. Yet every single photo gets declined, even removing an eye bag. It's ridiculous, as the 2024 version never gave me this issue. It's now making my job twice as hard and it is impossible to edit 90% of my clients now. I feel like I'm paying for a service that downgraded its quality and instead of being a tool that helps me is now costing me more time and money?

One thing that really stands out to me with Adobe’s Firefly-powered features, especially the new Harmonize feature in Photoshop, is that it’s trained only on licensed or public-domain data, never on our personal projects.  This means the native Adobe AI model in Photoshop (Firefly) is designed to work for you, not from you. In other words, it helps you create without using your personal projects as training data.  By contrast, other AI models may use different methods and don’t always provide the same clarity, leaving the consent process less transparent.   So here are my questions for the community: Do you think an ethical approach to training data changes how much you trust AI tools? Would transparency about not using your work without consent make you more likely to try features like Harmonize? Computer 1: Mac Tahoe 26.5.2, PS 27.8.0Computer 2: Mac, Tahoe 26.5.2, PS 27.3.1Computer 3: windows 11, PS 27.4.0  Save As to Original Folder does not work correctly for PDF files. Repro: Ensure “save as to original folder” is checked in preferences->file handling open a pdf file from a folder save as tiff (or anything)Expected: default folder for the save will be the same as original fileActual: default folder is the last folder where PS did a save. PS 27.3.1 does the same thing. Question: How can I get PS to save to the original folder when I’m saving PDF files as TIFF?

I have been using the PS and Ai from decades, never seen such slow usage , which i'm facing on new updates , my both softwares lagging and aren't working fine since last week, can anyone tell me how to resolve this is issue , same laptop same evrything since many years but now both PS and Ai lagging and working slow Please Help

In Photoshop, I can only zoom in using the touchpad if I hold down the alt key. If I do the gesture without the alt key, the image only moves left or right. If I hold down the alt key, the "actual" gesture (swiping in one direction with two fingers) also zooms. Is there a way to set the touchpad gestures so that the image only moves when you swipe in one direction with two fingers and the image zooms in when you zoom in with your fingers on the touchpad without pressing the alt key for any gesture?In the browser or other applications, zooming in works even without holding down the alt key.Win 11Ps-version: 25.12

My entire computer consistently crashes when I try to use “Select and mask”, Some of my photoshop files have even been corrupted if the file I tried to mask was in them. Im not sure what has been causing this. I’ve tried to update my drivers, my gpu, cleared my cache, allocated more RAM space for photoshop to use, and nothing seems to work. Any guesses as to what could be causing this? I am not extremely savvy when It comes to hardware optimization, but I couldn’t find any similar issues online to help fix this problem.

Photoshop 2026 will not open any JPEG files. I receive a message that says “Could not open “file name” because the file was not found.” Yes, the files are there and are uncorrupted– Preview and other other apps have no problem with the JPEGs. It does not matter if the files are local, on a drive, or wherever. Also, photoshop has no issue opening PNGs, PSDs, or really any other normals file formats. I recently updated, reinstalled, restarted, and deleted photoshop 2025 from my machine to try to remedy the problem. I’m working on an iMac 2020 with Sequoia 15.7.3As a work around, I’ve been opening the JPGs in Preview and copying and pasting them into a Photoshop file, but I’d prefer a real fix over this method.

I have had a Creative Cloud CC plan for years. This morning when I opened my app and clicked on Photoshop it began to open but then disappeared. I rebooted my computer. I tried every possible fix. I tried the Repair option. Nothing works. Now what do I do?

I do have adobe CS5 I want to install in my computer I just want to know if is possible

This is the third time in 3 months that I have had to reinstall photoshop because it would not open. All my presets and actions are long gone. How to I keep it from happening again and can I get my presets and actions back. I use the computer, I am not a computer person. Simple instructions please.Thank you

My father recently passed away. He was known here as JJMack. This community was a big part of his life. After retiring from IBM, this is where he would spend a great deal of his time trying to help people as best he could. His strength was figuring out how things work, communication was not.  Despite this, he was able to amass 38,147 Posts, 9206 Likes, and most importantly 3437 solutions.  I'm sure his posts will live on and continue to help people. I work with Photoshop professionally myself and occasionally will research a problem I am having only to find a solution posted here by my father. In the future it will be bitter sweet when this happens again. Goodbye, world.
