I am a creative photographer and I use Lightroom Classic and Photoshop (and Camera Raw) extensively in my workflow. They are, I believe, the best programs in their class and I cannot imagine functioning without them. I am, however, frustrated by inconsistencies in their interfaces. In Lightroom, for example, you adjust contrast by placing the cursor on the slider and then using arrow keys to increase or decrease contrast 5 values at a time (or 20 if you hold the Tab key). In Photoshop, however, adjustments are made by putting the cursor on the adjustment name, and then using arrow keys to increase or decrease contrast by 1 value at a time (or 10 if you hold the Tab key). I find the disconnect maddening.I am frustrated as well by functional differences between Lightroom and Photoshop. Recent releases of Lightroom have seen dramatic improvements its interface and functionality, especially selection and masking, content-aware remove, color grading, tone curve, and the color panel. Problem: Currently, if you have a shape positioned at X: 100px, and apply 1px center stroke, since photoshop can't actually create half pixels on either side, so it ends up creating a mathematical hack job by creating a 2px wide stroke and compensating for this by giving it a transparent fill, so that "mathematically" you end up with a "1px stroke" in terms of fill values or weight, but a visually blurred shape edge. The same thing happens to edges of shapes if you position them off whole-numbers Solution/idea: Short answer, allow photoshop to create half pixels. Long answer, can't photoshop use some math to properly address this and apply an actual 1px stroke? I think technically this would mean photoshop has to introduce the ability to split pixels from whole numbers into decimal points 0.1 to 0.9. But just to be clear, I'm not saying we need the ability of a 1.5px stroke, whole number strokes are fine, the problem is how strokes are rendered and shape edges are rendered de
Current Setup: Overscrolling is currently a setting located in Preferences > Tools. It only works when in Standard Screen Mode and Zoomed to Fit on Screen. Problem: Turning off Overscrolling only works when in "Standard Screen Mode" (View > Screen Mode > Standard Screen Mode) and the window zoom is set to fit on screen. If zoomed in even slightly, or when in other screen modes, Overscrolling occurs despite toggling it off in the settings. Why would this be helpful:Example 1 - When using a projector to project an image that is open in Photoshop, it is best seen in Full Screen Mode with no interface or UI visible. If you project an image onto an irregular shape by transforming and distorting an image to fit the irregular shape, Overscrolling makes this task nearly impossible. Currently it is possible to transform an image to the document bounds with Overscrolling disabled while in Standard Screen Mode, but there is no method for hiding the UI. Example 2 - Wh
Simply separate the language selection into UI language and Layer Language. Layer Language will affect the default names of layers like "Background", "Layer 1", "Group 1", "Curves 1", etc. This would make it possible to use actions made for foreign languages without affecting the language of your entire photoshop UI. I cannot explain the pain of using photoshop with a language you don't speak. And before anyone tells me to "download better actions", because actions should raname their layers as they create them or use relative layer selection, let me explain my situation: Me and my colleagues work with foreign clients, who supply their own actions that fit their demands. These actions are made in italian photoshop and therefore assume italian layer names, and break on any other language. We could fix a few actions, but as we have dozens of projects with multiple action files containing hundreds of individual actions each, it is just not feasible, especially since the cl
Two things bug me about the 'recent' opening screen. Sometime I edit something personal on my work PC and don't want it showing up whenever I open up Photoshop. I can't remove just 1 item from recents (apart from renaming the file and clicking it in recents). I would love to have a little X at the top right of every thumbnail which removes and item from recent files. There are files I have to use on a regular basis but not enough to stay in recents. I would love to have a little heart- or pin-icon on the top left of every thumbnail which keeps files on the top of the recent-list. A quick example to get the impression:
I've created 14 custom brushes for spider hairs. The ideal size for these brushes on the section I'm filling in right now is 175px. (but it will change as I go). Every time I use "<" or ">" to cycle to a new spider hair brush, it defaults back to the 1935 px size, and I have to manually shrink it back down to 175. I want the ability to lock the size of the brushes/brush set like we already have on other setting types in the brush settings window. This way it will vary the size, according to my size jitter % setting, using 175 px as its base, as I cycle through my 14 custom brushes. (visual reinforcement below)
After selecting the person , I want to select all but clothes. Now I need to check all boxes leaving clothes. There should be option to to ommit clothes only or clothes and hair etc. This will save lot of time where we have want to enhance wanted segments
Hi Adobe Team. You guys been spending a lot of time working on features and bug fixes ahead of the new Photoshop 2024, and I appreciate how busy you've been.Btw, I would like to request one more feature. I would like to be able to drag an entire folder to open all the images in it.Especially if have subfolders, will want to include them as well.Currently, if you have a single folder, you can just drag all of its images in, but if you have multiple folders (or multiple subfolders), you'll have to go into each folder and load all of the images. Something like this Main FolderSub1 Sub2 Sub3Sub1_1 Sub2_1 Sub3_1 ......Sub1_2 Sub2-2 This would be handy for opening dozens or hundreds of images at once. Currently, I have to go into each folder and open each image. =(
The Adobe Photoshop Express app has a feature under Looks called Splash. This allows you to desaturate an entire image except for a certain colour range. It has options to leave in colours such orange, blue, green, aqua, red, RGB, yellow, purple and magenta. To achieve the same results in the desktop versions of Photoshop appears to be a much more convoluted process. This is an example of yet another very useful app version feature being omitted from the desktop application itself!
Hey there! As a designer, I often create 5 different banner sizes for each advertiser, starting with the largest size (300x250). However, this can take up quite a bit of time. I was thinking about how we could make things more efficient and came up with an idea for a 'Master AI Artboard' for the 300x250 size. This would automatically generate the other sizes based on this design, saving me valuable time. I could then easily tweak any elements that don't look quite right. It would be amazing if I could see all five sizes in real-time, with each artboard referencing the 'Master AI' 300x250 design. This would help me create multiple dimensions more quickly, while also ensuring that the design elements are consistent across all banners. What do you think?
In ACR (from Bridge), when I use the brush to make brush selections I can change the brush size while I'm using it with the left and right square brackets []. When I get to Photoshop I miss this ability, I mis it most with the remove tool, but with the brush too.Great work, love these productsDamian
When using Adobe express or Adobe Firefly directly, for Advanced users, let's say for Text to image, please give the option to control what is in the text, like but not limited to, how much flowers are in it, how much drop shadow is in it, the amount of glitter, or the color of the plants, the intensity of the plants, ideally you can include a slider for and as "intensity" For text to image, You can also include "ideal colors", where an advanced user, can select a number of colors that he/she would want.
Photoshop Add Live Brush Preview in Mask Feature
When placing a LINKED FILE in Photoshop, I would like the option in the IMPORT box to select which layers I want to import. Not just which artboard.Just like in InDesign, you select "PLACE" and you select an Illustrator file with "SHOW IMPORT OPTIONS" checked...it brings up a "General" and "Layers" tab of my file. From there you can turn on and off any layers before importing. I want that to be an option in Photoshop too, not just InDesign. Right now all layers come into my linked file and there are certain ones that show dimension and sizing that I don't want in my render.
If we can get a prompt database, which can help us create innovative prompts for AI generated images.
Use GenAI to apply MidJourney like affects to base photos, both imagining new possible photos from existing base and also providing a series of possible FX combinations from the base photo or generative images.
I still have to use upscale.media and now have added an app to my pc for upscaling an image. The AI does more than just sharpen, but takes a huge amount of work off of me by upscaling and enhancing images and is 8 / 10 times really spot on. I still have to do a lot of work - but that would be a huge benefit.
Honestly why make a program so convoluted that a normal person cant even use it? I'm trying to make sprites for a game, as I'm new to this, it is a challenge, but Photoshop takes that challenge and makes it IMPOSSIBLE! How nice of them! Can't even find simple things like how to draw a shape (oh its hidden under other features how nice!) Can't even click one spot on the canvas without something dissapearing or the program thinking im trying to do something else with a single click! Why have I wasted money on this trash app all this time??????? Anyone have any suggestions other than Microsoft Paint? cause at this point Microsoft Paint seems like a GODSEND compared to this over engineered convoluted hot garbage. *side note: You guys REALLY don't even have spellcheck on your forums??? How much money do you make from people with your software and you can't even provide your users with the luxury of SPELLCHECK???? How do you request a lifetime refund??**
Object recognition is doing a good job, but is still a ways off properly selecting all of the elements of an image or separating multiple parts on a single layer (for an object that may have multiple characters or a single item that is hidden behind others, etc.). It would be nice to see this being enhanced. One other issue along with this is how the magic wand tool and Quick Selection tool also function. In quick selection, when the object colors become exceedingly close, it struggles (and understandably so), but perhaps there is a way to set tolerances or certain color ranges, that could help in this selection process? In both object selection and magic wand, one frustration is always shadows, right? If the AI is trying to recognize an object, perhaps when analyzing a scene it can improve the algorithm for separating a background and recognizing shadows? Or creating a separate layer for the shadow vs. the object and we can make our own adjustments from there? As per another post I ju
I keep running into the issue of opacity changes while working very quickly during time crunch and it ruins my layers. Would have to take more time to clean up layer to make it one solid color and not opaque. I awnt it to alwasy be 100% no matter if I accidentally press any number keys. This would be tremendously helpful.
It would be nice if the generative tool bar would remember and open where I pin it.
I want to thank the adobe team and request if its possible to have an offline AI
I'd like to be able to change the resolution from the properties menu. Its greyed out there and shows what the res is. It does allow us to change the mode and channel. It would speed me up considerably if I could quickly change it there. rather than have to open the Image/Image size window for every image.
Please allow PSDT file thumbnail preview in Adobe Bridge files. Makes it easier to know which file user is looking for when previewing many.
Hi, good folks, I think the title is a bit confusing here, so let me demonstrate this with a video. While I'm editing a text box, you can see my cursor changes from a normal one to a "move" cursor when I move it near the said box. It would be nice to be able to modify the range of this. I've been using an older Photoshop till now, and the older version had a much more generous range for this function, as you can see in the second video right below. Now I should keep my cursor really close to the box I want to move. Of course, I can jump out from editing mode and use the actual move tool anytime, but that's inconvenient.I have contacted the Adobe team, and they told me to post this here. Thanks for your time, have a nice day!Bob
