Questions

I have some artwork that i want to have the gradient follow the top part of the art.  The gradient should folllow the direction of the arrows ( i just put those in there for reference). 

This is all  that appears on my screen when I open my Illustrator app on my Macbook. These are the settings. Much help would be appreciated.    

I work with the SVG format a lot, creating and modifying icons.I was resizing a few SVGs today when I noticed this problem. You don't even have to make any changes to the file for this "bug" to corrupt your files. If you re-save the file simply by hitting Ctrl+S, your SVG will very likely have distortions and glitched out paths due to the precision that Illustrator defaults to on every startup of the application.BE CAREFUL when re-saving a modified SVG using the default File>Save after first opening IL. I'm pretty sure it's because Illustrator's precision for saving out SVG files has a default of 1 decimal place.This precision setting is reset to 1 after closing and re-opening Illustrator no matter what settings you have applied in the past. You can replicate this by opening a svg, nudging it maybe a pixel or two, and then saving it with ctrl+s. I've paid for a subscription to Adobe Illustrator for years because I'm an illustrator. I like to illustrate. I like vector art especially. What I don't like is generative AI stealing from us, prompting me to try it while I'm working, or robbing me of freelancing opportunities. I feel like Adobe Illustrator is circling the drain. If Adobe wants to sell an AI product to losers who can't draw make it a seperate program and get it out of Illustrator. Leave us alone, let us draw. We never asked for this garbage.

Hello,Problem is on Paragraph Style:While under General on the left column I can see under "Indents and Spacing" that my Paragraph Direction is set to "Right to Left", I can't find this defintion where is should be, on the left colomn under "Indents and Spacing". I am using Illustrator Version 29.4 and I am not seeing the 'Text to Vector Graphic' option. Any help on how can i find it?

I'm working on creating marketing floor plans from architectural drawings done in Revit.  Am I simply missing the shortcut to box deselect objects from a selection without reselecting new objects?Is there an option I need to check in the settings somewhere? Here is an example of the function I'm describing in AutoCAD:https://autocadtips1.com/2011/08/02/deselect-objects-from-selection-set/ This is neccessary when I'm trying to move/edit/delete lines/fills (shapes) that are stacked and put them on separate layers.

I am experiencing an issue when exporting JPG files using Illustrator, I am able to successfully export the JPG files to my computer folder. However, when I share the exported JPG as a document via WhatsApp, the recipient is unable to view it on their mobile device, although they can view it without any problems on a PC.Could you kindly assist in resolving this issue, or provide guidance on how to ensure the file is viewable on mobile devices when shared through WhatsApp?Thank you for your assistance.

I have a subscription, but ever since 2020 I cannot save as the more recent versions. I just opened up a file using the latest version of Illustrator and these are my save options (see screenshot). It used to not bother me but now it's 5 years old and I'm paying for the latest version, so why can't it save as the latest version?

I have been struggling to find a way to do the following in javascript: 1) Open an .ai file that contains a shape (in this case its a warped rectangle)2) Place a PNG file3) Move the PNG file below the warped shape4) Perform an envelope distort (Make with Top Object) on the shape + PNG file This seems stupid simple, but I can't figure out a way to do the Make with Top Object envelope distort using javascript. Any help would be amazing. Thanks!

I'm not a daily user of Adobe Illustrator so I'm not that experienced. I mainly create logos to use for screenprinting and embroidery projects. To do this I use Simulate Colored Paper to represent the garment color. I've recently started having the issue where AI changes the color of my imported logo to whatever my simulated page color is. For instance, I have a white logo that I can't see unless I simulate the page color. As soon as I change the page color, the white logo I imported changes to the same simulated page color.Any help would be appreciated.

All day, everyday, I'm let down by this product I have no choice but to use. We are back to the early 90s where you have to save your work after every single operation. Thanks, Adobe 🙎 Please do not reply with questions about what I was doing. It doesn't matter. This thing crashes on its own whims now. Each new update brings its own set of horrors.

Illustrator changes the image resolution on its own when placing it , but not all the images !!I placed an image  with 300 ppi into illustrator and it changed to 72 ppi, that of course changed the size significantly.P.S. - I used place command in file menu, i dragged the image directly to illustrator and used the open command in file menu, same result - I checked the page resolution and the document raster effects, they both 300- I tried another vector software it didn't change the image resolution.- I saved it as TIFF from photoshop (which read the size and resolution correctly) and illustrator got it right !! but i need it jpg !!So, what could be the problem here ??

I'm having issues with a spot color. I need to print something on a press.  It was advised that I change the logo colors to all one shade of green and then set the green to a different color percentage so that my press guy only has two screens to burn (one for red and one for green). But I'm not sure how I acheive the correct colors of green when I change the color percent.  The logo is attached below. It was advised that I change it all to the darkest green and then change the percentage but I can't get the correct colors of green when I do that.  Help!! 

I am running Ai 29.4 on an HP Windows laptop. I recently created a number of graphics and was asked to send jpegs to a colleague to drop into a mock-up. Using Export As and sending to jpegs at 300dpi, 3 of my files returned zero byte files. I tried several times with the same result. Having reduced the images to 72dpi, the files created fine. Is there a max file size for 300dpi or am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if it's a bug. When I lock any layer inside a layer group, I can't edit any anchor points within the layer group. I don't see any clear reason why this is happening. I've attached a video showing the issue. When the layers are overlapped more than two, I want click the under layer with the direct selection tool.But it dosen't work and the upper layer cilcked.

Hi,104.5 inches by 120 inches final vector/pdf for a vinyl transfer to outside storage wall .i use ipadpro with 4gb memory, so i need to. Relate a smaller Art board/file like 1/2 then 1/2 of that ? Need specific advise . Dimensions , ratio? I could be wrong but I figure 1/2 would be 26.125 by 30. Then 1/2 of that is 13.06 by 15. My iPad might be able to handle that illustrator file with all its paths and layers. Help please ?thx Dawn

Hello. A problem I started having today was my fill color of objects are off a bit from my object borders. Attached is a pic. This is zoomed in as far as it will zoom (6400%). Is this normal when zoomed in this far? If i try to snap an object to the corner of an imported photo, it's off by that much. The second photo below is the result of snapping the corner point of an object to the corner point of a photo. Thanks in advance for any recomendations.

Hello I have this design. In its original file the fireworks look good, when I copy it to another document it looks terrible.

Nu herhaald ik het programma opnieuw te starten, maar ik zie geen ankerpuntenblokjes meer waarmee ik kan roteren, verschalen etc.Ik heb al van alles schijnbaar om het op te lossen, maar tot nu toe zonder succes.Heeft iemand de gouden tip waarmee ik dit kan herstellen?
