Questions

Is there a way to change the size of artboard used when importing a DWG or to detect the size automatically? I am also trying to figure out a way to batch apply layer settings to an imported DWG. I'm currently importing each DWG to its own artboard and the line settings should be global. Thanks

I just updated my creative cloud apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere) and in my macOS launchpad is a folder titled "Adobe Illustrator 2021 (Other)," it contains scripts titled Contact Sheets, Make Calendar, and Web Gallery. I'm not sure what exactly these are and the launchpad definitely isn't where I want it to be. Does anyone know how to get rid of this, why it's there?

Hi AllI am using Illustartor 2025 and when I go to print, the colours are very desaturated. The Red prints out as more of a burgendy colour. We have tried both CMYK and RGB and they almost identical. All other colour settings seem to be greyed out. I don't really know much about the colour settings or what could cause such a difference in colour between what is onscreen and what is being printed out. If we print to PDF, the colours are fineWould updating the print drivers help?Is there a way to test to see if it's fault with the printer or the settings? Thank you in advance

Hey everyone,I've been running into an issue with Illustrator where copied smart objects appear distorted when pasted into Photoshop or even within Illustrator itself. The paths seem to be misaligned.Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known issue, perhaps related to the MacBook Pro M3?Any insights or solutions would be greatly appreciated!

hello everyone,How do I make this line the same width throughout. For example this white, wave line.  Client wants a point at the wave but have the same width throughout. Hoping this makes sense..  I've been playing with the width tool for the first time and see how I can change the width at certain points, but can you do the whole thing at once? Thanks in advanve!

When I type a space after an asterisk, dash or bullet, the space is too wide, like 14 points. Tab bar doesn't affect it, and delete doesn't delete it. Anybody know why it's doing that? Looks like this:*     asterisk

I am new to this forum. I have a question on how to approach an illustration such as shown below. What I can see is, that there's perspective and some kind of warp? Can anyone explain on how to start, because I really love the warp around the circle, and I believe there must be an easy way to get this effect?Thank you very much for reading and maybe help me start something like this.Sandra

Whenever i pick a color from an object that is not text and alt-click on a text that i want to apply the color, it resets the font family and size. Am i wrong or the font used to change only when i copied from on text to another? 

After the most recent update, illustrator has been crashing A LOT! It finallt came up  and said that it was going to be running in "safe mode" until I ither updated or uninstalled the vectoredge.aip plugin. I am not even sure what the plug in does, so I really don't want to uninstall it if it is needed, but I also can't find any information about updating it. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

Je dois réaliser un décors de commerce à l'échelle 1/1, avec beaucoup de format différents, illustrator est ma meilleure option.Lorsque j'exporte en pdf (version 1.7) ma zone de travail grand format, les dimensions sont les bonnes dans acrobat, mais les images restent à l'échelle 1/10 et sont pixelisées (pour info, les paramètres des effets de pixellisation du document sont à 300 ppp).Comment obtenir un rendu full échelle 1/1 (dimensions + qualité des images) s'il vous plaît ?Je suis sceptique, je pense que ces zones de travail grand format sont pensées pour le vectoriel.Merci d'avance pour votre aide malgré tout.

Hi, I work for a vehicle wrap shop and we recently purchased our own large-format vinyl printer. I've been having trouble saving large format files that can be opened in our printing software (Flexi12) and exported for print.I'm in the middle of trying to print an art file that is approximately 110" wide by 35" tall. The art has a lot of gradients, text, clippings masks, and some large rasterized textures.I cannot save as PDF because the gradients do not hold up in Flexi at all.I was told by a colleague to save the art as a raster image. He recommended saving as a TIFF at 10% the actual size at 720ppi, and then when I go to print the file enlarge it by 1000% which makes it print at the accurate 100% size. However, this results in a very poor quality print with lots of pixelation. It's essentially printing at 72ppi - Not acceptable.I have tried saving a TIFF at 100% size at 150ppi, but I get an error notice that there is not enough memory to complete the action. Looking for advice on why my Ps fabric swatch images appear distorted when they are exported to Ai? The images are simple one layer jpg's and appear perfect in Ps.

Example of the issue I'm having:I have a paragraph box with text in it, it is set to an Extra Bold character style. When I type new text into this paragraph or change any existing text, it will automatically change to the new text to a Regular version of whichever font I have selected. Additonally if I type any text directly onto the document it will change the colour to black regardless of what I have selected.This suddenly started happening a couple of days ago. I have tried resetting my preferences, didn't work. I've even uninstalled Illustrator, deleting all preferences and then reinstalled the app but it still keeps happening.Any help would be appreciated, I cannot figure the issue or find a solution.

Adobe Illustrator was running perfectly on my computer yesterday, but today it suddenly stopped working. It hangs on startup, and despite trying everything possible to fix it — including updates, a hard reset of my PC, uninstalling and reinstalling the program, and even trying different versions — it still won't open. I have also noticed that it's pinned to the taskbar but doesn't respond when clicked. 

Open the image in Photoshop and save it as a .tiff file. The resolution is not fixed.Note: The previous resolution value remains fixed.The tool was not working when the script was run in Extended Script.

Illustrator creates AITEMP folder on C:\ drive. How do I stop it? When I delete the folder, it appears again after the app's restart.

Hey Community, recently I noticed very annoying thing.. If I have text, for example Poppins Regular  in illustrator and I need to add any new word / letter in that  existing text - it's formating becomes BOLD, not Regular. Before I didn't had any issue, I didnt even changed anythign in the settings.. It accures on both systems MAC & Windows.. Is anyone aware how to solve this? ;( Thanks!

Hello Community!I have to say, I'm just an amateur graphic designer (I do have a Graphic Designer Diploma tho, took ages ago).  I read million posts about this issue, watched youtube videos and tried all the options, etc but nothing worked out for me. I wonder why there are so many people having issues with managing printing blacks? It feels to me it's more about how the black is blended and managed in the printed process and  if could be an issue that should be solved from a software perspective/communication incompatibility with some printers/setting.I've been using Illustrator for many years and I've never had this issue before until more recent times - hence my big struggle to understand when, how it happens and comes from. As many others, the issue is that my blacks comes slightly greyish/magentaish (as if it's a bit faded) through all the document affecting also illustrations from the web or photographs etc.So, it happens not only to text or any vector I personally

Hello! I have a huge problem that I need help with. I teach graphic arts at the high school level and I have had 5 students in the last few days have their illustrator files vanish. I see them every other day and they are assigned a local user account. Other students use the same computers, but they all log out at the end of the period. My students have been working on a big vector portrait project for the last 3 weeks, and they have been trained to log in, open illustrator, open their .ai file, then save it in their local user folder.  What's weird is, all of the sudden some of them have randomly lost their files. When we go to click on "open recent files", we can see the file name (see photo - "jj.ai"), but when we click on it, we get the message in the other photo ""file does not exist": jj.ai" We have tried everything to locate it. I've spent a ton of time trying to figure it out myself, and have had our district IT helping and we are perplexed. The missing files are

Hello, i intalled the "Pantone connect" plug-in to get access to the pantone libraries again. I recived a pop-up saying that (translated to) "you may need to open your CC-program in Intel-emulation mode if i want to use it" and a link to the Help center. However the steps on the help center shows me to open through the creative cloud program by klicking the three dots next to the program under "installed programs", but i don't have that option.  Am i looking at the wrong place or is there another way to open as "intel"?Or is there another way to se your pantone color libraries in your programs? 

I am new to this community and relatively new to using Adobe products so apologies if I am asking a stupid question. I have thousands of Master AI files containing multiple layers of text, symbology, graphics etc., containing a mixture of Pantone colours and CMYK. Is there a tool (or scripts) that will convert my unwanted Pantone colours to CMYK for multiple files or do I have to go in manually to each Master AI file and convert them myself? The files themselves, although having multiple layers, only contain around 6 diff Pantone blacks and 3 or 4 other base Pantone colours - they are not complex at all really.Any help would be much appreciated 👍 ScottMilton Keynes   

Hello wonderful community  I am having an issue with Illustrator 29.1 (64Bit), whereby I draw a simple shape, like a rectangle and it appears with a fill and an outline. The shape I want to draw requires an outline but not a fill. I click on the fill and choose the "No fill" option and it kindly obliges, leaving the rectangle with no fill and a black outline. I want it to have an orange outline, so I click on the Stroke icon, choose the RGB pallatte and enter the hex code. The outline remains black and it refills the rectangle to the inputted hex code. My version is the most recent version (see above). I have rebooted the computer and ran some Windows 10 updates. I also tried creating a fresh file in Illustrator all to no avail.  Any help will be greatly appreciated. Aled
