Questions

This issue was noted by other users in 2024, but started happening to me a few months ago and I've yet to find a solution.  In most cases when I execute an Ungroup or Unlock command, Illustrator hangs for 5-10 seconds. Often, the cursor also becomes "possessed", eeirly sliding across the screen and not responding to commands.  Then, once the hiccup has passed, back to normal as if nothing has happened.  Needlessy to say this is a severe drag on my workflow and I am getting asked why things are taking so long to complete.  (Unfortunately, the answer is because Adobe...) It is doubtful that it's a hardware or settings issue, as Illustrator worked flawlessly when I first got this machine and the bug can be triggered no matter how simple the file is -- even just ungrouping a few open paths on an empty artboard will do it.  I have also completely wiped and reinstalled both the OS and all software, so it's not a virus or other issue.  My suspicion is that t

I have been working on this important file for days and I saved it multiple times in the span of those days. My laptop just now shut down because it ran out of battery, and when i restarted it again and reopened the file, everything in the file disappeared, the artboard turned white blank. I checked the DataRecovery folder but it's empty, I didn't turn on Data recovery option in Preferences beforehand because I thought saving it is safe enough. Someone please help!!

It's very unprofessional that one we hit Release to Layers, the layers name change to Layer 1, 2. Professional people have put it time to actually name the layers, and when we wanna prepare the file to animate for After Effects, it changes SO UNPROFESSIONAL ADOBE

Bonjour,J' ai deux textes différents, sur le premier j ai appliquer ' effet 3D matière avec un contour dégradé et lorsque je veux copier les effets sur le deuxième texte , le message suivant s' affiche: l'effet 3D ne fonctionne que sur certains type d objet et ne peut etre appliqué en tant qu instance multiple.Quelqu' un peut il maider? merci d' avance

When I move the side balk at illustrator with my Wacom pen ( Wacom Intuos Pro)  It's get stuck. And then I can do noting while my page is moving when I move my pen. Hope someone can help me?   <Title renamed by MOD>

HiIve created a pie chart using the graph tool in illustrator - displays fine EXCEPT i want to change the leading in the legend ;list - is there a way to do this but keeping the links to the graph data? I know i can do this easliy by just ungrouping and styling as normal but that loses the link to the data and if any numbers are altered and graph is re generated it will bring the legend back in how it was .hope that makes sense?! Thanks

The Illustrator link short cut link once again is pointing to Beta. This is not the first time this has happened.Not sure how this continues to happen whether it is on my computer or Adobe side?The link is at the TOP of the screen on the CC Desktop webpage. 

Hi.My illustrator is constantly freezing and becoming unresponsive . And finally crashing. This started all of a sudden today. Anyone here to help?

I have tried the help instructions to change the scale in Illustrator but scale does not show up in my UI Preferences. I am using Windows 11. 3840 x 2400.the Virtual help said some systems don't show scale. what system will show this Or does anyone know how to scale the tool and header in Illustrator?susan_9558

Bonjour, depuis quelques mois, je rencontre des problèmes avec ma version d'Illustrator (2026).Je suis sur Mac OS Sequoia 15.5. A plusieurs reprises et sur des fichiers différents, Illustrator me fait disparaitre des éléments, soit à l'enregistrement soit à l'import sur InDesign. Je ne sais pas quoi faire et recréer un nouveau fichier ne marche pas forcément. Est-ce que d'auters personnes rencontrent ce type de problème ?Merci pour vos réponses.

Hi there friends! So, I have been using Photoshop for over 20yrs but always struggled with Illustrator. I am working on a logo project and having more issues than usual. I started in Photoshop by creating my logo as a work of art to then use as a reference to get to a vector based logo. Now my paths are so complex and I am all around lost in it. Any advice would be appreciated! I tried image trace and that was even more difficult for me. I even tried Kittl but I loathe AI and that didnot work either. I am uploading my art ( a Tanuki themed therapist in a chair sipping on a coffee) and then I am uploading what I have so far as a vector logo of it. Thank you! Stef   <Title renamed by MOD>  

Hi there, I am looking for a way to divide ellipse into equal segments. Unlike circle, I cannot use angle to divid, which would yield different length on the ellipse. I've also tried Object -> Path -> Add anchor points, but I cannot specify the number of segments. I was looking for a way to do this (hopefully without any expensive plugins). Has anyone achieve this before and if so, could you share the method? All the tutorial I found online are based on circle, not oval. The ability to add anchor point at specific distance distance also works since I can manually calculate the length of the segment. Another way that I found is to draw number of lines matching the number of segments I need, then use Objegs on Path to place them onto the ellipse then manually add anchor points there. As you can image, this is pretty cumbersome, so  hopefully there is an easier and better way to do this. Tjhank you

Here's a problem that I've noticed a number of times. It seems to happen intermittently and the really annoying thing is that it doesn't show up in Illustrator, only in exported images. Strokes within symbols don't always display correctly when they are exported as a png. It seems to happen when the symbol is rotated or scaled. It doesn't always happen. I can't work out what specifically makes this happen or not happen. I've attached a screengrab and a screen recording to show the process.

Hi,Could someone please take a look at the attached file and see if they can identify my problem?For this file only, I'm experiencing noticeable desaturation of colours when exporting to JPG or PNG, or even when opening the file in Photoshop as an experiment. My Colour Mode is set to RGB, Working Space to sRGB IEC61966-2.1 and Profile to Working RGB: sRGB IEC61966-2.1, using Illustrator v29.8.2 but also having the same results on a different laptop running the latest version.I've done a fairly exhaustive search online with no change in the export, and even converted all objects in the file to RGB - still no luck. If I open an independednt vector file the exports are fine, so it seems like an issue with this file only.I've converted the file over to Photoshop and upped the saturation a touch, where the exports mirror what I'm seeing on screen but I'd prefer to work with it in Illustrator if at all possible.I've had to change the file extension to PDF to be able to upload it for som

We want to design a packaging label for a liquid product in Adobe Illustrator. The product will be sold in both the US and Latin America.We want to avoid mistakes between liquid volume units such as US liquid gallons vs Imperial gallons.Is there any built-in standard or best practice in Adobe apps for handling unit conversions or its entirely on the designer to convert and verify the volume values manually?

How do i make a pattern brush so that instead of stretching, the pattern just crops when the line ends?I have been playing around with flip settings and fit settings but no matter what i pick the pattern keeps stretching, unless i select 'add space to fit' but i dont want gaps in the lines.   

Adobe, please explain this to me. According to my privacy settings on my Mac, I have not given permission to be screen recorded. However, it still happens every time I use Illustrator. Does anyone else have this problem and find it concerning? 

Yo estoy haciendo otra tarea de Clean-up para la clase de Arte Digital de la universidad y cuando uso el pincel al cambiar de estilo de linea y tamaño se me continua con el mismo  tamaño numero y la misma linea basica, incluso con la herramienta de pincel manchas me pasa lo mismo. Asi que necesito una solución para tresolver este problema que me esta impidiendo avanzar con mi tarea, ya que se entrega para el jueves de la siguiente semana.Espero que no les sea mucha molestia volver hacer otro comentario de solución de problemas y espero su respuesta.

  Embedded links keep disappearing in Illustrator.  2 examples attached.  Please help, this has only started happening in the past few weeks.  I have recently updated tp 30.0 and it is still happening.  

Good afternoon,   I was exploring the 3D paenl, and put a 360º twist on an object. I was elated, and designed a proof of concept for a threaded object. Hubby, aka Mr. Grumpy, spoiled my fun. He said the twist was backwards, making the object lefty-tighty/righty-loosey. I thought I could fix that with a negative twist on the object. The panel did not want to give a negative twist. A web search said it should be possible. I have great ideas for 3D prints, and they are foiled by the twist.   PJ
