I use layer colors in my layers menu to keep things organized. For some reason they are now switching to all black. I have even changed them back and they revert back to black. Any reconmondations?  

When creating a multi page illustrator document the artboard are not displaying numerically after the first 16 pages. Please see the screenshot attached and look at the upper left hand corner of each artboard.I am running Mac Sequoia 15.6, using Illustrator 29.8.1. Please help as this is causing issues with importing the ai file into InDesign.

I'm currently using Illustrator 2025 (29.8.2) on a Windows 10 device (Dell Precision with i7 chip, 16GB RAM and NVIDIA T1200) and noticed that after a while of using the app, I was getting severe lag when trying to do anything. Even trying to close Illustrator after the lagging started could take up to two or three minutes. After looking at advice from others, I remove all the tool tips and contextual options (all redundant to me anyway) and tried opening the app from the Adobe Cloud Desktop app, rather than from the start menu, but again, after a while, it would start to heavily lag. All drivers were up to date. I was baffled by this until I realised that the lag was occurring immediately after I was creating a new link within the Share for Review (SfR) option or clicking the 'Update content' option. I use SfR within Indesign on a daily basis because I'm working on projects with multiple staff across remote sites, so it's an incredibly handy tool, and have started to use it

hi,My problem is following : I need to make a seamless pattern of an existing shutterstock pattern in size of 1024*1024px. Let's say the original pattern is simple, geometric and it's 1302*1180. The size is just an example, because the sizes vary in shutterstock. So my question is how to edit the pattern that it is loopable in its new demanded size, 1024*1024? Is there any script available by whom I can export my Ai or EPS file as a Powerpoint Template File? Basically an Ai to PPTX script.Thanks!

Adobe Illustrator görseli bu şekilde kaydediyor. Kopyalanmış ve kaydırılmıştır. Eski konular ve metinler gösteriliyor. Orijinalinde böyle görünmüyor, ancak InDesign'ı çağırdığımızda böyle görünüyor. 1: GS is the best thing ever but.... Masking a layer in GS would be amazing!  2: A nudge button option(s) for transform effect panel with a setiing to adjust by how much  ..Anyone else like this idea?? hi all,although the interactive corner feature is really useful, unfortunately i cannot use it anymore. My problem is, that i can't see the corner-widget for all corners anymore. "Not anymore" because everthing worked fine and probably i made some changes in the settings or changed my workflow, and now i can't figure out where the issue is.So you can see in the screenshot, that for some corners the widget is visible, for some not. I already tried to play with the settings for corner-widget and also tried to convert the object into shape - nothing worked.What is also interesting: sometimes when i try to convert an object into shapes i just get a message "object was not converted".The issue mainly appears on objects wich i converted before (object -> path -> outline stroke). Objects which are created out of the rectangle tool, show all corner widgets.This one is created via pen tool -> object -> path -> outline stroke:This one is created via rectangle tool:So, does anyone

Every time I use the Effect > Path > Offset Path command, the dialog box defaults to an offset of 10px. In my daily workflow, I almost always use a much smaller value, like 1px or 2px.Having to manually change the value from 10px every single time is inefficient, especially when working on complex files.Is there any hidden preference or script to change this default value? If not, please consider this a feature request to either allow users to set their own default or have the dialog remember the last-used value, similar to how other tools function.Thank you.

Hi, I'm making a figure in Illustrator with 4 PNG files imported in it. When I export the illustrator file as PDF, the file I get messes up the figures. I am going crazy with this; never happened to me in years using Illustrator! Why is it behaving so badly? The images are simple PNGs!

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask a question: I'm working with Illustrator, and whatever object I select when creating a mockup, a message pops up that says: "Screenshot cannot be located." It's not a screenshot, but a placed image. I've also worked with screenshots and never had any problems. If you know what you're doing, could you explain it to me? Thanks for your time.

I am having an issue when scaling objects down (and interestingly, not up). When an object is scaled down it creates this sort of fragmented view that will hold until I zoom in or out. Fine with text, but if text is outlined as a shape it does this. I have updated to the most recent version as of today. Help?

I'm having an issue in which the UI of Illustrator is somewhat oversized compared to the other Adobe programs, it's not unusable but the difference is noticable enough to be a bother (screenshot shows comparison to indesign). I haven't been able to check out the UI scaling settings within the program, as the preferences window is also bugged out in some way (way too small to access any of the settings and cannot be resized; also included in the screenshot) -- this is arguably a bigger problem than the oversized UI itself. I have tried reinstalling Illustrator, installing older versions and manually resetting the preferences, none of which have had any effect on the issue. I'm currently on Ai version 29.8.2 operating on macOS Sequoia 15.5. I'd be glad for any suggestions on how to fix this problem. 

So, Illustrator is acting up like an idiot again, for reasons that only Zeus knows.When trying to create a new file, instead of the usual dialog box with all the options and settings, this is what I get: A blank box, with nothing else to to but close.I've done the usual. Quit and ReOpen, reboot the machine... Nothing.I'm running a brand new iMac, the app is fully up to date.I just want to know if this is a known issue with any simple solution before uninstalling and installing again (which seems to be the only solution to Adobe apps these days).Anyone?

Why when I try to create a new custom template and hit create I get this? I am trying to do my assignment but the white background is not popping up. 

I need to replace my old MacBook and wonder if ID and IL will be available and work in a Parallells VM with Windows 11. I need both the macOS and Windows versions for my work (which includes screenshots and screen video). Getting a cheap Windows laptop is not an option because I do not want to drag two laptops around. Therefore, a MacBook and a Windows VM was the perfect solution for me. I tried it in summer 2023 on a MacBook with M2 Pro, but ID and IL were not available in CC for download.Does anyone have such a set-up on a MacBook with M4 Pro chips? If so, what configuration is needed for the MacBook?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure if Illustrator is the best Adobe app for designing wood working projects? After reviewing a few tutorials on the Dimension tool in Illustrator I was not able to find enough to get started on the project. There are videos showing how to use the tool to place objects within a room. What it failed to show was how to set up Dimension to "Scale" to fit the artboard. However, after exploring which Scale to use I was able to start the project. A discovery which appears to need some work is setting the line dimension tool or have a dynamic tool. An example I want to set the Dimension too to 5.5 Inch mark. As I am dragging out the 5.5 Inch reference line it stops short at 5.35 inch. I can drag out the line to the 5.5 Inch point. However, the recording at the 5.35 is fixed vice changing based on the line length. There also does not appear a way to set the line dimension manually?

My Illustrator app suddenly does not work in any way. Everytime I open up the program, the app freezes upon the first click, goes unresponsive, and eventually crashes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, I have tried resetting the preferences, I have had a screenshare support sessions with an Adobe Agent, i've updated the drivers to my graphics card, I've tried opening in safe mode, running as administrator, and I've even tried installing previous versions of AI, none of which has gotten me any closer. Occasionally, if the program does no close after 5-10 minutes of being unresponsive, I will be able to open or create a new file and work on the program relatively unhindered, but whenever I try to save that file, it will take me another 5-10 minutes, even if the file is blank.  I also have been able to use other Adobe programs like PS and InDesign just fine without any issues. This has been solely an Illustrator issue. Any help is appreciated

I’m generating SVG code programmatically, with the intention of editing it later in Adobe Illustrator. When I create a <g> element with an id attribute, like <g id="item 1"></g>, Illustrator recognizes it as a group named "item 1" within "Layer 1". However, I want Illustrator to recognize it as a separate layer named "item 1", not just a group. Currently, I’m using an Illustrator script to convert these <g> elements into layers after importing the SVG. But is there a way to write the SVG code so that Illustrator recognizes certain <g> elements as layers from the start?

Wondering if anyone can help me, I hit Save As and nothing pops up but when I clock around I get the error ping noise. I cant use any of the usual things like alt space. Ive restarted my computer, restarted illustrator. Nothing.I usually work on a multi screen setup, i tried to go down to one and see if that would fix it but no dice. Please help if you've been here before. Frustrating.

I have noticed since I started using CC that the eyedropper does not work when trying to pick up color from a placed jpeg. I know for a fact it used to work in CS6 because I did an entire gradient mesh project using this method. Honestly, I don't know quite how else you would do an accurate gradient mesh without this tool. Is anyone else having this issue? Is it just a setting that needs to be changed? My color space is RGB.

I downloaded Illustrator today, though I've used the program a while back.No matter which tool I select, be it shape, brush, move, anything, the symbol which appears at the cursor is a pencil and a circle with a line through it below it. When I click with this tool nothing appears and an error sound occurs.My layers are visible and unlocked. I have selected a color with full opacity. I have created new layers, new documents, restarted illustrator. No tool will create any effect whatsoever. I can't select, move, paint, etc. it just shows the same pencil error symbol.I'm using a Huion 610 tablet which runs a tablet driver in the background. However the problem is identical when I use the mouse instead.I hope there's a viable solution.

Hi all,  hope there is someone out there that has experienced my dilemma and can help sort my problem out.  I'm a crafter/cardmaker and I purchase digital cliparts for my projects, mostly through Etsy and mainly PDFs/SVGs and jpegs.  I recently purchased a Wedding Couple jpeg, in which the groom was wearing a green suit.  When I went to print out on my Canon Pro-S100 printer the whole clipart printed out in a Sepia/pinkish/orangish colouring.  This is the first time that this has happened, so I contacted the seller on Etsy and she suggested making some changes in the drop down list on the Print Dialogue Box to the 'Color Management' ie. Color Handling and Printer Profile.  The changes made no difference to the colouring, they still printed the same.  A few more changes were proposed, which I carried out, but didn't solve the issue.  I have never had to make any changes to any cliparts I have previously purchased ... they have always printed
