Hi Team,I need your assistance with an issue related to using the MinionPro font in MathType.Please see the attached PDF. The document was processed in InDesign and includes MathType equations that use the MinionPro font. When working with this file, InDesign becomes very slow and difficult to use. For example export the PDF or update the mathtype images. Since updating to 2021 over a month ago, my workspace keeps resetting.  When I open a file, sometimes it opens with my default, chosen workspace.  Sometimes, however, it opens with no toolbars showing and I have to manually go to Window --> Workspace --> Default.  (Default is the name of the workspace I created with my workspace set as I want it.)  How do I set it so that my chosen workspace is the workspace that always opens?  It's so frustrating to have to open it up nearly every time I open a file because it's not defaulting to that workspace!

I have been using a font – Prenton RP Pro – for a numbers of years for a regular publication. I installed it from Adobe via Creative Cloud. It comes in 10 weights/versions.Last week i started getting errors for missing fonts. Indesign has changed the name of the font from “Prenton RP Pro” to “Prenton RP Pro (OTF)” and has split it into two groups: one with Black and Black Italic weights, and one with the other 8 weights in it (Light, Regular, Italic etc). I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the font family, checked Font Book for conflicting installations (none), have tried restarting machine and Creative Cloud in various orders, all to no avail. My colleague has no problem with his font (showing as a group of 10 weights of Prenton RP Pro - without the (OTF)). The problem is that if he opens a file I have worked on, it shows font errors and vice versa. We can no longer work on the same documents, which is proving impossible. I don’t know where to go from here. Advice appreciated

When I publish my document online half of the page content is missing? There is two different page sizes on the document, and it looks like the size of the smaller pages are what is showing on the larger pages. I have been using this document for years without issue.

I am Running InDesign 2026. I went: Type > Document Footnote Options > Layout. My understanding is that is where the maximum attributable area for footnotes on a page can be set. The option is not there. Where is it?

Wie ist es möglich die Application bar in Indesign auf Mac einzublenden. Ich habe diverse Screenshots gesehen, bei welchen ich dort oben die Möglichkeit habe, direkt z. B. Files nebeneinander zu platzieren.Gemeint is die Leiste ganz oben neben dem Home-Icon.How can I display the application bar in InDesign on a Mac? I’ve seen various screenshots where I can use the options at the top to place files side by side, for example.I mean the bar right at the top, next to the Home icon.  

I have just upgraded from CS4 to Creative Cloud, so I am still discovering things that are different . .This problem is that the dialog box for creating a New Cross Reference takes about 40 seconds to load. That doesn’t seem right, so what am I doing wrong?I place my cursor in the desired location. Open the Cross References window Click on Create New Cross Reference Wait 40 seconds (it seems even longer!)Thanks for your help.

I’ve recently changed my renderer on Cinema4D from Standard to Redshift and when the renders are put into an InDesign document and then exported (with the settings below) we’re getting some renders burning out. Document screenshot: Export screenshot: Export settings: 

There is absolutely no reason InDesign should retain an export page range on all documents after one is set on an unrelated document. The export dialog for each document should be tied only to that specific document and start initially from a default state.Too many times I’ve been bitten by sending a client a truncated PDF because a previously opened document was exported with a defined page range.In what world would a designer decide that all subsequent documents should only be a specific page range. Any documents export settings should reset to a default state and only retain settings for that specific document.That is faulty logic. 

The dark mode and light mode follow the system, just like in Creative Cloud and Acrobat client. The darkest and brightest shades are in line with the Windows settings.

Hi when I export my InDesign magazine, it says when I'm trying to save it that text is overset on two pages. But when I look at the design, it isn't. I even deleted the text frames and typed up the content again. Any reason why this is happening that you can think of?

I am suddenly encountering several freezing problem with InDesign. I cannot use the “Place” feature to bring an image in. If I click “Place” it opens the last folder and freezes. When I open “Task Manager” on my computer, it then shows Adobe using 88+% of the memory on the computer and I have to force close it. I also can’t open a file within InDesign because it does the same thing where it stops responding and freezes. I have to navigate to the file on my desktop and open it.I had zero issues with this until maybe 2-3 days ago. I have tried uninstalling, reverting to a previous version of software, and updating several preferences that may be impacting it and nothing has worked. We are a non-profit with a design that needs to be finalized for Monday, so I am in panic mode at this stage that I can’t get this to work.Any advice/solutions welcomed!!

After converting some old .indd files to v20 from v15 I see that custom metadata is completely wrong. I’d assume that during conversion InDesign finds old metadata packets and set incorrect values Here is the cimpress:Id value we have before conversion which is correctBut after conversion to v20(v19 works correct) I got something like this:Is it possible to fix conversion process somehow, because it breaks a lot of flows and makes migration to the new InDesign versions impossible?

Share for Review link made - client made edits with specific instructions to select text first on screen then click button to leave the comment for feedback and the feedback is not showing on screen in the backend so there is no way to put a comment with what is on the page.  I checked it myself and it is not showing my edits on the page either… HELP!! 

My layout has only one column.However, the text boxes are split into two or three columns.I have currently selected only the image “imgA”; how can I retrieve the text box below it?I want to use a script to determine how many columns the text boxes are split into.Thank you.

Dear all,I encountered one problem regarding footnotes in InDesign and hope you can help me with. I have a magazine with articless and in the beggining of each article is author´s name and short info what the article is about. The thing is that author has a footnote with * and info about article footnote with **The article itself has a standard footnotes with numbers 1, 2, 3 etc. So I would like to know if there is any chance to combine * and numbers in footnotes on same page? I am wondering how to figure it out hoping that someone has a solution of this problem. I believe that InDesign has a feature how to deal with it.Thank you very much for your help.

I’ve seen the other post with the same issue regarding the inability to package InDesign projects with files and fonts residing on a(n smb://)  server, but I contacted my IT department and they said that there are no access blocks on their end.Like others, copying all linked files and fonts to my desktop makes packaging possible, but I work with book documents with 50+ InDesign documents and hundreds of linked files. That would create hours of unnecessary extra work to locate all linked files, copy them over to my desktop, relink everything and package; not to mention having to re-relink everything when I copy projects back over to the server.I checked my System Settings and noticed that in Privacy & Security > Local Network, Adobe InDesign 2025 is allowed to communicate with devices on my local network. Yet, packaging is not possible. (I also use ID 2020, 2022, and 2023- for font purposes and imposition purposes).Everything worked fine on Sequoia, before I updated to Tahoe this

For the last few weeks, I’ve been struggling to get my deadline projects finished in InDesign without the aid of the various shortcuts I’ve always used -- e.g., cntrl+spacebar to get the magnifying glass -- no go; drag to highlight text -- no go; spacebar to get the hand to move around -- no go. These functions just stopped working, cold.Now I’m finding the same plus other problems in Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as in Acrobat! (Currently in Illustrator, I'm not able to edit text in or resize, or move text boxes -- and this is paragraph text, not point text, so it SHOULD be editable and movable.) In none of the programs can I zoom in and out with the cntl+mouse wheel, as I could before. I was caught flat-footed on a business call this afternoon because I couldn’t zoom in fast enough on a drawing I was discussing.I do not have these problems outside of the Adobe products. I’ve searched the internet for fixes in all three programs.  I’m not finding any answers. I’m on the latest up

Scenario 1: I need to retrieve data for the current page, so I use ‘var p = item.parentPage; ‘    For example: The number of columns on the current page is ‘marginPreferences.columnCount; ‘ Scenario 2: I need to move objects within the current page, but I can only use ‘d.Page[0] ‘.  Because the following code(var pb=p.bounds) throws an error: ”null is not an object”.—I suspect the object is considered out of bounds. What should I do? I’m writing an InDesign script using JSX. I want to loop through all frames and check if they have specific script labels set, which I then want to use to change the page of the linked PDF file.
