Bonjour,Pour la mise en page d'un ouvrage scientifique, l'auteur demande une double numérotation des notes de bas de page.C'est à dire, une numérotation normale en chiffres arabes pour les notes de l'auteur et une deuxième numérotation en chiffres romains pour les notes du traducteur.Ceci est-il possible avec InDesign et si oui, comment procéder ?D'avance merci pour votre aide, bien cordialement,C. Background:  I have used the ExportAllStories applescript, and variations of the ExportAllStories applescript, since InDesign 2017 with no surprises.  I have not had any problem with it until today when I used it inside InDesign 2026.  Context: I'm running Sequoia and InDesign 2026.  Does anyone know if Sequoia security somehow blocks the scripted export function of InDesign?  I know it's a long shot, but I cannot get any version of this ExportAllStories script to export an RTF or text file, and in addition, I cannot see why using scriptdebugger.... All its variables set up properly, I verified this, but the export function doesn't work. Has anyone else experience this fail to export problem? Thank you!

Hello everyone, I’m working with the InDesign C++ SDK and need to determine whether a given text frame is a caption created using InDesign’s Metadata / Live Caption feature. Specifically, given a UIDRef of a text frame, I want to programmatically check:whether the text frame is a caption (metadata/live caption).Are there any recommended or official APIs/bosses to reliably identify caption text frames?Any guidance, best practices, or SDK references would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I am teaching students Indesign and was teaching basic graphic frames.Usually an image within a graphic frame has a circle in the center that allows you to select the image inside in the frame. One student did not have this circle in the centre of her image, and instead when she tried to resize the frame the image within it would also resize?Please advise!

Hello,This should be a simple thing, but I can't get it to work.I am trying to import Japanese text, vertical from right to left, into InDesign CS5J so I can edit the text.The text is in Word written vertically and from right to left.However, when imported it into InDesign CS5 it changes to horizontal.The format (書式) is set to vertical composition (縦組み) and the text tool is set to vertical (縦組み文字ツール).I know CS5J is old, but it is what I have and has worked fine until this.Any help in solving this will be greatly appreciated. Hello All, I am making a book about insects and wild flowers. When I add a text box to a bright photograph that has a subject in the pink tp purple range, the colour becomes dull. i doesn't happen to the red, yellow, green or blues. Any help ill be gratefully recieved. Thank you. Rupert

I am working on my first InDesign book and I have created a TOC that works beautfifully, BUT when I export, it shows up at the back of the epub, not at the start. How can I fix this.I am learning InDesign on my own and everything is new.

Hi!I have looked around in the community and found a few topics, which I must admit I did not understand. (I am far from "code wizard"...)What I want to do is replace one or more characters etc, but keep others. I believe this can be done in GREP, but my attempts have been unsuccessful.Example:Search for "(any lowercase letter) (any uppercase letter)" - with a space in the middle.Change to "(the found lowercase letter)./r(the found uppercase letter)" - thus insert a full stop and a new paragraph instead of the space, but keeping the two letters surrounding it.a Rbecomesa.RGrateful for instructions. 🙏

When a swatch is added to or removed from the Swatches panel in the document workspace, I need to capture this event.Which protocol should I observe?In my observer implementation, I attached like this:InterfacePtr<ISubject> wsSubject(workspaceRef, IID_ISUBJECT); wsSubject->AttachObserver( ISubject::kBothAttachments, this, IID_ISWATCHLIST, IID_SELECTION_CHANGE_IOBSERVER );  However, in my Update() function:if (protocol == IID_ISWATCHLIST) { // never reached } I cannot receive any notifications at all.What is the correct way to observe swatch creation and deletion events in the workspace? 

Iv been trying for hours id really appreciate some help, i have tried using paragraph styles and following youtube shorts but they are not working !

If you have indd files you are inserting those files into a new indd file and exporting that as a pdf - it fails. (meaning, several placed indd file, lose their images and text - but not all) the pdf is rendered useless. There have been enough of us trying to struggle with this.  WHEN WILL IT BE RESOLVED?Thank you. 

First off, Happy New Year to everyone around the world, or maybe across the world.Here's my question:I have an InDesign book, made of 30 separate documents (chapters).It has 31 images in it. For print I have had to make the images inB&W because the print cost for color leaves no profit margin for sales.I can however export it as an EPUB (electronic) with color becausethe cost for this is very low and there is a decent profit margin.My question is this: can I "copy and save" the B&W version, createa new folder for this document, then change the images to colorimages, save that and export it as an EPUB?Or will this somehow "confuse" InDesign as to which version it wasfamiliar with, location, name, etc. and then freeze or stall, withoutmy being able to close it out or cancel an action as it as done inthe past?Or should I change the images to color in the B&W version, then "save as"the new color version, but not save the edited B&W so that it will revertto the B&W pre-e

I’ve noticed that reverting to version 21.0.2 allows me to continue working normally. I have an InDesign file that was out for review for several months. The review link had hundreds of comments on it and yesterday, the link mistakenly got deleted. Is there any way at all to restore that link and get those comments back?

OS Tahoe 26.2 / Indesign 2026(21.1) / MacbookPro M2 When opening an Indesign 2025 file (converting) with missing fonts, I will go to font manager (Connect Fonts 26.0.5 or Adobe Fonts, same behavior) and activate the missing fonts. Upon returning to Indesign, the program will crash. Upon relaunching (with fonts already active) it converts & saves fine. Tried usual remedies, no luck. Any thoughts?

Ever since the most recent update, text frames regularly look blank as I work within them. They have text, character styles, paragraph styles, and occasionally objects, but as I apply a new character style to one line, the contents of the frame will disappear. This is very disruptive. The only way I have figured out how to get the entire frame to momentarily reappear so that I can see my work is to click on the frame and adjust its position. Typing within the frame may reveal the line or lines near where I am typing, but not the entire frame. This problem did not exist before this current iteration of InDesign (v.21).  I work with a team and we have all tried various ways of avoiding this issue, but have not figured out how. It doesn't seem to change based on our display performance, screen mode, transformation values showing or not, whether we've reset our cache, or if our GPU performance is checked or not.Are other users having this issue? Is there a resolution?It

Hi.I’m having trouble with "BOOK" where the documents show each individual document’s page numbers, starting from 1 to whatever… This is a Book with linked documents I’ve worked with before (I’m just updating last year’s files now), but when I open it in the latest version of InDesign this change appears. Everything should be set to Automatic Page Numbering in each document. Does anyone have any tips?

Hi, When I print my InDesign file it changes the font and makes it completely illegible, merging words and letters. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, I have tried going back to an earlier version of Indesign with the same issue still happening. I have checked that the font file is validated (which it is). This is happening across mutiple files so it's not that a specific file is corrupt. I have reset my preferences with no effect. I had been printing a file absolutely fine and then the same day (no app closure inbetween) it started doing this and now it is doing it for every file. Any suggestions?

Após a nova atualização do InDesign, venho enfrentando problemas com as fontes e estilos de caracteres. Ao fazer qualquer pequena alteração no arquivo, as caixas de texto perdem a configuração do estilo definido na criação do arquivo, como podem verificar na imagem 1 anexa. Quando copiei um novo texto para o arquivo, todas as caixas perderam o estilo e ficaram em negrito.  Salvei o arquivo, fechei e abri novamente e o problema corrigiu. A boa notícia é que isso não é preservado no arquivo, mas prejudica o fluxo de trabalho, já que se perde toda visualização original do arquivo.O que poderia ser? Será apenas falha da nova versão?

Is there a planned roadmap for improvement or similar features release calendar for InDesign?  Given Affinity revamp is out, among others, is there a reason to keep a subscription for the next year if there is no plan to improve?  

Hi, I have a suggestion to make to the devs,I think the Distribute Horizontal/ Vertical centers button is very misleading, why do I say this? Because even thought I can understand the "center"of the squares being vertical and horizontal, The lines that stick out of the square are wrong. Distribute Horizontal Centers has Vertical lines sticking out, and Distribute Vertical Centers has horizontal lines sticking out. At first I thought I was crazy, but it is actually misleading when you're in a hurry and all you see is the lines. I think the squares kind of make sense but the lines showing the constraints don't. Horizontal is side-by-side, and thats absolutly correct, and vertical is one on top of the other, but the lines are super misleading, making me confused for no reason at all. I think this  should be changed because the lines that are sticking out are not the correct orientation. Idk maybe im stupid but it seems like it makes more sense like that...Distribute top edges an

I've installed the program several times, but I keep encountering the same error. I haven't encountered this problem with InDesign on my other computer. What causes this and how can I fix it?

Hi, i recently upgraded to the 2026 suite and now when i update indd. templates to my Adobe library, the thumbnails no longer preview? I really nope there is a trick to fix this error as we have 100's of shared templates we share accross the organisation. we couldn't possibly open these thumbnails for a visual as it would be very unresourceful . Can anyone help?
