I’m trying to use the “Remove Tool” in Photoshop, but keep getting the “could not complete your request due to program error”. I’ve double checked that everything has been updated, signed out and back into my adobe account, deactivated GPU acceleration, reset photoshp preferences, etc.It keeps happening. One time I also got the “can not use this tool because activation failed” Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've been experiencing a frustrating issue with Photoshop recently. Right after opening the program, it becomes unresponsive. No matter what I click – whether it's a menu, tool, or document – the program acts as if it's frozen. This unresponsiveness lasts for about a minute, after which Photoshop starts to function normally again. This problem doesn't reoccur until I close and reopen the program.I have tried all the solutions suggested on the internet, Adobe forums, and even had a service technician try to fix the problem remotely, but nothing has helped. The issue didn't start until after a certain program update, and unfortunately, reverting to previous versions hasn't resolved the problem. Uninstalling and reinstalling an older version didn't help either.Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? How did you manage to resolve it?This issue is clearly visible in the video that I am attaching.
I drew something by hand and I scanned it onto my computer, I have it in photoshop now and im wondering how do I remove all the white in-between each line manually
This has been a topic for years, so I can’t fathom why it still happens. When I open an old JPEG and make a few mods and then chose Save As or Save a Copy the creation date changes to the present moment. When I check File Info before saving the creation date is correct.
Is there a way to return to the older color picker? I don’t what this is besides unusable. Thanks for any help.
Once I finally dared upgrade my PS version and try out the generative fill and generative expand features, I fell in love with this. It is just so perfect for what I do, and my editing workflow. I take photos of indoor dance events without flash. I do not take these photos for the sake of the event organizers, but as a way to make artful images, where I capture the moods, emotions and connective interactions on the dance floor. The dance floor is usually crowded, and I often have distractions in the background that I would rather remove and replace with something less distracting. Or, at the time of taking the shot, a body part of a nearby dancer comes into my frame, covering up a portion of my intended subject. Or, since I am shooting moving targets, there is a need to expand the image on one or more sides to improve the overall composition of the photo. The new generative fill and expand is so perfect for this. I can now do what would have taken a great deal of time before, or in some
Paper selection function seems to print in ordinary absorbent computer paper, even though I select Premium Luster. When I open the print dialog box again it’s at ordinary computer paper. I'm using PS 2026 on an Epson ET-8500 with a Mac Studio (OS Tahoe). Have tried restart on all items. This just started today. Previously things were working fine.
Erasing on a transparent layer (besides the background layer) doesn’t erase the alpha, but “draws” with the background color. This is an outdated/unwanted result and should be deprecated. All modern illustration apps will erase the alpha regardless of whether transparency is locked for that layer (except the background layer). Otherwise, using the lasso tool to “cut” a layer with locked transparency should fill that area with the background color. As a developer, I find this inconsistency sloppy coding for such a popular app.🤔
I'm using PS and when I wanted to use Reflection removal the object tab is dead or not colored black. It just doesn't work. Can anyone help? I'm using a MAC computer and RAW format. Thanks for the answer and best regards to all.Branko
I cannot save files in PS Online. I can rename them at the top, but I cannot find where they are located. They are not local or in the cloud. I do have an older Mac that doesnt meet the minimum requirements for using the online service, although the editor works fine. I can work with an image and layers just like the desktop version. There doesn’t seem to be any other issues. However the file will not save and I cannot make any copies either.

Hi everyone. The code below automatically sets the image to 100% size when it opens, but I later realized that at 350 or 300 dpi, 100% size doesn’t look realistic.Later, I right-clicked the image in Photoshop, selected the Magnifying Glass tool, right-clicked the image again, and viewed it at print size. It still didn’t feel realistic to me. My image is 15 cm, but the print size appears very small. When I measured the image on the screen with a ruler, it wasn’t 15 cm either. How can I modify the code below so that the image width in Photoshop looks and feels the same as the printed width?Thank you.// Call the zoom function from within suspendHistoryactiveDocument.suspendHistory("Set Zoom to 100%", "setZoom(100)");//// Open the image size dialog//sTID = function (s) { return app.stringIDToTypeID(s); };//try {// executeAction(sTID('imageSize'), undefined, DialogModes.ALL);//} catch (e) { if (e.number != 8007) { alert("Line: " + e.line + "\n\n" + e, "Bug!", true); throw (e); } }function
Tried with RAW, jpeg, png. I have “maximize psd file compatibility” set to “always”. Pretty dumbfounded as to how Adobe apps are not only not improving, but actively getting worse.
My photoshop keeps crashing when I try and open up a new or existing document when I have my pluggable usb 3.0 hub docking station plugged into my computer (that has a windows OS).I had contacted support and we did remote help. We found out that it was the docking station that was causing the issue. However, I need the docking station for my job and hobbies. They told me it wasn’t supported, but it had been working fine for about a year (that I’ve had it) up until yesterday when I opened PS for the first time since the 27.5 update.I did realize after the conversation with the represenative that I was speaking with that I can plug the hub back in after opening photoshop, getting things loaded, and continue to work as normal. However, I shouldn’t have to unplug and plug my dockng station in every time I want to use photoshop since this update.I’m hoping that since it’s only been a couple of days since the update that a patch will come out to resolve this issue. I was told to make a post
Hey everyone, Photoshop 2026 is running as if it’s severely disk-constrained on a machine that has >240 GB of available storage on the startup volume. Performance is unusable, multiple-second delays on tool selection, UI interaction, even basic text editing. Root cause hypothesismacOS APFS reports two distinct storage figures:- diskutil data volume: >59 GB truly free- Finder / macOS storage APIs: >240 GB available (free + purgeable)Purgeable space is APFS-managed storage that macOS can and will reclaim on demand, it is not inaccessible. Apps querying disk space via standard macOS APIs (NSFileManager attributesOfFileSystemForPath) should receive the Finder-inclusive figure (~240 GB). If Photoshop is instead reading the raw diskutil figure (~59 GB), it would incorrectly treat the machine as disk-constrained. Operating environmentHardware: M3 MacBook Air, 24 GB, 1 TB internal SSD (APFS)OS: macOS Tahoe v. 26.4.1Photoshop: v. 27.6.0Scratch disk: startup volume (default)Subscription
I’m attaching a video comparing the Remove Tool results in LrC vs Photoshop. The image is of a photo of a friends daughter playing the viola. The intent is to remove as much as possible the strobe reflection and worn spots on the wood grain. The first part shows rhetorical results in LrC - which does a decent job.The second shows the results from going from Capture One (my main RAW editor/catalog) to Photoshop. It takes several passes of remove tool to get close to what LrC does. The Remove tool in PS used to do a better job. Am I missing something?FYI - I did duplicate the layer in PS, turn it into a Smart Object and use the Remove tool in Camera RAW. Same results as what LrC produced.Thoughts?
Why does GF hew to the color of the central objects. For instance, today, I have an old photo of two people dressed largely in blue. I requested a fill behind of “white curtains,” but the curtains are generated as blue. Why does GF not allow me to choose what colors I want? Why does GF usually misspell words? Why can’t I dictate what will be generated and have GF simply follow directions properly?
When I open Photoshop the complete interface darkens on a new Macbook Pro. After opening I will open a RAW file which looks normal for a moment the darkens and all adjustment sliders go to zero (0). The interface is so dark I can't make out wording on the screen. When I open an existing photo it appears normal for a moment then darkens. Testing a few changes and when I get the Save window it is so dark I can't read any words. When I close the file my desk top picture is very dark for 20+/- seconds and then returns to normal.
As a children's photographer, I was able to use backgrounds in the early days of generative fill. Lately, 98 percent of the photos refer to the guidelines. What is the problem? Or can we no longer do anything at all regarding children? Even a prompt from Chat GBT to turn it into a fine-art portrait no longer works, whereas this was possible before.
All of my photoshop files will no longer open. All of the projects just show this blank paper icon now. When I save a new file, it also just turns into this. When I try opening the file within Photoshop, it says the file has been moved and deleted.
How to reinstall Photoshop 10 (I have the 24-digit serial)
I updated photoshop yesterday or the day before to 27.6.0, the latest version. It opened after updating just fine and I used it all day long. Then today, just a fee minutes ago, around 12:50 pm, I opened Photoshop for the first time today and all my history is gone, all the text is tiny, everything seems to be reset and screwed up. Instead of seeing a page of thumbnails of previous files on the Home screen, I get this CRAP in the screenshot below: I need to know what the heck I can do to restore it and prevent this kind of CRAP from happening again…
I have been having this problem for a few months. I am using Mac OS Ventura 13.2.1 and Photoshop 2023 or Lightroom Classic. I have long used presets but now, after I save one, when I come back to it the next time, the saved preset does not retain any of the settings. I tried uninstalling Photoshop 2023, rebooting, then re-install Photoshop 2023. The presets still don't retain settings. I've also tried deleting my P5000 printer from the system settings, and then re-installing my Epson driver. Again, doesn't fix the problem. I also tried printing from Safari and made a preset in Safari and this one does work as it is supposed to. If I then switch back to Photoshop, the preset created while in Safari works properly in Photoshop. I tried one more time to create a preset while in Photoshop, but it still will not work.
