I got this error General Photoshop error occurred. This functionality may not be available in this version of Photoshop.\n- <no additional information available> in Photoshop 27.4, but I am quite sure it happens with other versions too, while doing something like this in ExtendScript if (textLayer.textItem.capitalization === TextCase.ALLCAPS) { } Now, the problem got away after I clicked the button to make the paragraph text uppercase and then I clicked again to make it lowercase again (the original). So, this must be a bug with ExtendScript or Photoshop. There’s probably a state-machine bug or sync problem. It’s like the ExtendScript API is not being updated correctly.

Should an image file always be converted to profile before releasing for output (digital or print)? Or, can the image simply remain with the assigned profile? In both cases, the profile would be embedded when saved.

I have created a 10800x1350 canvas and split it into 10 as i am doing an insta swipeable post.  When i go to export through 'save for web' i select jpg but it only lets me save at 75.85%. when i change it to 100% it shows a message saying "a value between 0.01 and 75.85 is required. closest value inserted" i cant get it exported to the size i need. I have latest photoshop downloaded on MacOS BigSur cheers

If aiming to change Pantone Lab values within an image file into process color (CMYK or RGB) via an ICC profile conversion in Photoshop, should the image simply have an assigned profile, or should it be converted to profile before conversion? In other words, how do I ensure the ICC profile is being used for the conversion of Lab to process color?

Years ago someone on Adobe forum showed me how to bring out blue in a white sky.  It involved using the sliders of red and green, lessening them and this brought out the blue hidden in the white sky.  I did this for years.  today, 1st of all when I selected images in Camera raw to make tiffs of, they would not then open Photoshop.  After several failed attempts, I went to Creative cloud and opened there and then they opened to Photoshop.  I thought that the way I did this was in Levels, but I am not sure and I didn’t even see such a graph where I could slide the individual colors. This didn’t require any alpha channels or anything more complicated.  I called Adobe tech help but he said that was impossible, that there was no blue in the white sky, despite me saying I’d done it for years, before opening the latest Photoshop with the increased price and now inability to continue my work flow.  Does someon know what I am talking about?

I was told I asked in the wrong forum, hoping this is the right one!  I have printed a photo from photoshop and somehow the printing has become a mess, first time I printed the photo was faded, second time I printed (not sure what I changed to be honest, colorsync kept coming up and all. I said was Okay) and it printed in grey scale, now after hours of trying to just print a nice quality photo, It comes out crazy in either too dark, not right, or greyscale. so I would love to rest the print settings, just to go back to what it was prior to me going nuts today. but i do not want to reset the entire PS < i am worried I would lose my desktop settings and brushes would be removed, moved around etc that I have already set up years ago to my liking. Please help!thank you !! 

In Photoshop CC, I am constantly getting the message "Could not ...... because the target channel is hidden" whenever I try to do anything.  Every time, I check and see that the alpha channel is selected and hidden, so I select RGB instead.  Why does it keep automatically switching back to alpha?

Hi,CS6I have found out that the colour I need is best created firstly by a certain rgb mix, spraying with that, then filter>noise Gaussian 0.7 is applied, then two adjustment layers added, colour and hue. If I need to add more areas to that layer the colour being added cannot have noise added to it as it will be applying further noise to the colours already on that layer. I need a layer which has three adjustment layers, noise, colour and hue ! Each time I spray more of my colour mix onto it , it gets all three applied. How can I apply a filter as an adjustment layer ? Merlin

Long time Photoshop user - Ok this might be a 1 in 10,000 but if you rename a layer to nothing as in “”, zip, nada, no characters - it’s very difficult to rename it to anything else:The area that allows you to double click to rename it - slightly right of the thumbnail preview is very very small indeed. If you don’t know where to look (to click) - it’s very very difficult to rename. Otherwise it just brings up the Layer Style properties box!

Hi there,I have a big problem,I am trying to use Neural Filters on Photoshop, specifically smart portrait with eye direction but every time I do I get this error I attached. I tried log out and in, I tried unistall everything and reinstall, I also tried removing the Neural filter plugin data from the library. Still same problem. Please help because I really need it, fast. 

Great that the latest Photoshop has "full" webp support, but lacking is the ability to export artboards to webp format. I build a lot of my website graphics as artboards, but it looks like I will need an intermediary step of saving the artboards as PSD files first, and then exporting them as webp? Or am I missing something? Thanks, Judi

For ergonomic reasons, working with Windows 11, I have two monitors and many times I have to open Photoshop by switching working monitor. The problem arises when all the floating dialog windows or open tools remain on the wrong monitor, even worse when the monitor is turned off. There should be an option where the windows follow the app's one.. There’s a fix for that?

Goodmorning everyone,When I set the brush size to 200 pixels, I see a circle of about 400 pixels. When I start painting, the brush changes to the correct size, but I can't place the brush against a line to start painting precisely. The brush does this on both my Mac screen and my BenQ screen. It also does it in all versions of Photoshop, 2024, 2025, and 2026. It's been doing this for a while, but it's getting increasingly annoying.using iMac 26.3 Thanks for helping Jan Malschaert

Hi everyone,I'm reporting a regression bug in the latest two builds of Photoshop Beta on macOS. The Image Assets (Generator) feature has stopped generating JPEG files, while WebP remains functional. This works perfectly in the Stable version of Photoshop.The Issue: When naming layers to export multiple formats, only the WebP files are generated. Even a single JPEG export command fails.Test Cases & Results: 02.jpg7, 02.webp8 — Result: Only .webp generated. (.jpg is missing) 02.jpg7, 02_web.webp8 — Result: Only .webp generated. 04.webp7, 02.webp8 — Result: Both .webp files generated. (Confirms comma-separation logic is working) 02.jpg7 — Result: No file generated at all. Troubleshooting performed: Confirmed the same file works as expected in the Photoshop Stable version. Tried creating a generator.js configuration file in the user root directory to force JPEG support, but it was ignored by the Beta build. Reset Generator cache and preferences. Verified document is in RGB

I had just finished saving a large PSB file I had been working on when my screen went black.  After turning the computer back on (it’s a new laptop, and I haven’t had previous issues with it) I opened my file.  I had 3 files open at the time of the crash, and 2 of them opened as Recovered.  The main file did not.  Perhaps because I had just saved it?  In any case, although it contained many layers, there was only one layer when I reopened it, and it was black.  I’’ve attached a screenshot.  I Googled if Photoshop saves temp or backup files somewhere, and saw that it can in the folder path listed below, but there were no PSB/PSD files there.  Is there anywhere else Photoshop may have saved this file on my computer?  Thank you.  C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\Temp\

Hi,, other than an unlimited AI gen fill plan - how can you work out exactly how many credits a gen fill will use per image with a single text command?Example - I wanted to try gen fill for the first time with a batch of approx 30 tiff files 7000x6000px.  The simple text command was - Isolate the subject - Mask and remove the reflections and smudges and bright studio light in the mirror behind the subject whilst retaining the original background reflection in the mirror but blur the mirror slightly, keep the main subject in focus.Used Gemini with Nano Banano Pro ticked .I paid for a basic gen fill plan which provides 2000 credits and ran out before completing the batch of 30.  Spoke to chat support and they advised 40 credits per gen fill with that premium model compared with 1-10 for standard Firefly.  So by my calculations I should have had plenty with a few spare?So how do you work out how may credits are needed for say a client batch of 100 files?  I’m probably over thinking this a

Depuis quelque temps, j’ai un soucis en utilisant la fonction “Supprimer l’arrière-plan”.J’ouvre Photoshop, je crée un document, je glisse une photo dedans en drag&drop. Là, lorsque l’image est sélectionnée, j’ai cette petite barre d’actions qui s’affiche, proposant notamment “Supprimer l’arrière-plan”. J’utilise cette fonction depuis des années maintenant, elle fonctionnait donc précédemment, mais depuis quelques mois, un message d’erreur apparait après avoir cliqué dessus: “Impossible de trouver un arrière-plan à supprimer”.Ceci se produit avec n'importe quelle photo, et même avec des photos d’un sujet sur fond uni ou blanc, que l’outil détourait très facilement et proprement avant.Je ne trouve pas d’autre sujet concernant ce message d’erreur sur internet… J’ai un peu l’impression d’être la seule à qui cela arrive…Est-ce que quelqu’un a une idée de ce que je peux faire pour solutionner cela ?Je fais toutes les mises à jour Photoshop dès qu’elles sortent.

Recently, Photoshop has been frequently freezing when switching to the “Hand Tool” in zoomed view and moving around the canvas.A good example is when you trace something with the “Path Tool” at 500, 600, 700, or 800% zoom and then “scroll through” with the “Hand Tool.” Photoshop regularly freezes for a good minute and, of course, still recognizes every click that was made in the meantime. In general, the program often freezes when you are zoomed in and are using another tool before switching to the “hand-tool” (path, brush, text etc.).Program: Photoshop 27.3.1PC: Win11, 32GB ram, 1TB ssd

I just installed Photoshop 2026 on my new laptop (Windows 11) and when I tried to install a third party extension, I found that the Extensions is greyed out. I followed some posts on the Internet to check in the Preferences, but the extension panel option is enabled already. I also tried to uncheck and recheck, then restart Photoshop but it didn’t work. I then tried to upgrade the Photoshop to the latest verion via Creative Cloud Desktop, and also uninstall and reinstall, but it still not available. Would really appreciate any suggestions or guidance! Thanks in advance
