Hi everyone,I’m investigating a compatibility issue affecting my Photoshop plugin, Lipika.Users reported receiving “Compatible app required” in Creative Cloud Desktop even when their installed Photoshop version appears to meet the declared requirements. To address this, I republished the plugin and reduced the minimum supported version:• Previous minimum version: Photoshop 24.2.0+• Updated minimum version: Photoshop 24.0.0+Goal: Support Photoshop 24.0.0 and newer (including latest releases). However, the issue still persists.Current environment:• Plugin: Lipika (latest published version)• Installed Photoshop: 27.4.0 Release• Manifest host.minVersion: 24.0.0• Creative Cloud Desktop still shows “Compatible app required” and suggests installing a newer Photoshop version.I’ve attached:• Compatibility error screenshot• Installed Photoshop version screenshot• Manifest configuration screenshotQuestions: Does Creative Cloud Desktop cache compatibility data after publishing updates? Hi, I have been using PS for more than a decade. It seems like my skills are not improving anymore. I can make a extreme difficult project(according to people) while having a hangover. I am looking for a course which you think have the knowledge up to the par. Thanks in advance.[Moved to Photoshop ecosystem by moderator authority]
My Workflow:I work in the shoe sales industry. I use a 1000x1500px PSD file to scale down and position product photos. I then retouch them using Generative Fill, the Remove Tool, and other features. After that a create a copy backup file with all the photos of certain product, delete all the layers and continue with the next one. The source files I import are large (4480x6720px).The Issue:In previous versions of Photoshop (Pre v27), I had no RAM issues and could process a batch of 200 photos without stopping. However, with the new 2026 version (v27), my memory usage hits 90% after doing small batch of about 20-40 photos. Currently, the only solution is to close and restart Photoshop to clear the cache, I can also confirm using v26.7 version of Photoshop (2025) fixes the RAM problem.Troubleshooting attempted so far:Changed scratch disksAdjusted max memory usage in Photoshop settingsReset preferencesUsed Edit -> Purge -> Purge All (this had no effect)My Specs:CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3DMO
Recently updated to PS 26.1. The app grabs 6GB system RAM upon my opening of a single 8K image and continues to allocation big chunks (15GB, 33GB, etc.) while the app gets slower and slower as a result. 1) did anyone at Adobe test performance impacts before forcing the upgrade on us?2) Is this poor performance considered a bug or a feature?3) I'm not using any of the new fancy features of the update. I'm simply hand editing images.4) Going into Preferences>Performance and capping the app's memory usage to a reasonable amount (~10GB) seems to help the peformance and stop the leak.
I shoot dance recitals every year. I had an older Mac with 16 GB of RAM and had no issues automatically converting thousands of raw files to jpeg automatically once adjustments were made in ACR. My MacStudio with 64GB of RAM keeps running out of memory after about 300 images which is significantly slowing down my processing as I have to babysit the computer to keep the conversions going in a timely manner.I have looked at all the settings and I cannot see where I can fix this issue that seems to have started on the last or the previous update(s).
I think if I ever met the person in charge of PS development I'd probably get arrested. It's the only program that I use that simply hogs memory for no reason and causes my system to grind to a halt. It just sits there with zero files open and zero tasks to do just guzzling memory - I just had to shut it down for the 10th time today as it was hoarding 18GB of memory while doing NOTHING. This has been going on for over a decade. Mind you I suppose it's par for the course from a company that can't even fix the CTRL D (deselect,) problem in over ten years.
i have the non-beta, the normal photoshop., i have the same problem, the generated fill becomes gray, and i cant find where to put the age on behance
Hi, for a few days now, whenever I open and close Photoshop files, I've noticed a gradual decrease in free space on my system disk, which isn't recovered until Photoshop crashes. This is definitely a Photoshop or system issue, as it never happened before and still doesn't happen on my old computer. Has anyone had or has a similar problem? I'm working on an M1 MacBook Pro with Sequoia version 15.6.
Hey all, I recently upgrade from PS2020 to PS25 and aside from ui changes, I've had a shockingly bad memory leak issue crop up. Had a small psd open, 1000x1000, had 6 layers, and have ai features turned off. When i left my computer for the evening, i was using around 10gb of RAM of my total 64GB. When i woke up, i noticed my computer really chugging, which concerned me because it is a beast. Task manager showed i was using an 100% memory. I immediately closed chrome, nothing was released to free up ram, didn't see photoshop explicitly showing high memory usage, so didn't think about it at first. I started closing things down one by one based on the RAM usage in task manager, and nothing worked until i closed photoshop. That immediately released it. Won't be leaving docs open over night any time soon, but would be nice to have this fixed as i don't like resetting up my work space every day. Also generally just want to go back to PS2020 haha. Anyways, system specs in
Hi,I’m experiencing a very specific issue with Photoshop’s “Save for Web (Legacy)” workflow ever since updating to macOS Tahoe. When I open “Save for Web (Legacy)” using Shift + Option + Command + S and then click “Save”, the “Save Optimized As” dialog opens normally. I can type in the filename field without any issues, but none of the standard edit keyboard shortcuts work anymore inside that window: Command + V Command + C Command + X Command + A What’s strange is that right click → Paste still works, so the clipboard itself is functioning correctly. The issue is specifically with keyboard shortcuts not being recognized inside that dialog.Another important detail: every time I press Command while that window is open, macOS plays the error/ding sound, and Photoshop in the background reacts instead of the Save dialog. For example, pressing Command can toggle options behind the popup. Also, the Edit menu items like Copy, Paste, Select All, etc. appear greyed out while the dialog is
I have same problem here… zero solution. I tried updating the drivers for my graphics card, processor, and motherboard, but nothing helps.
I’m using the Parametric filter to create a felt applique image. The layer for the image is a smart object. When I add a new JPG or PNG to the smart object to use the filter, I;m getting the error, the material file provided cannot be read.Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening and any way to remedy it?
A while ago, I noticed several new fonts appear in Photoshop which I had not added myself. I wanted to remove one of these fonts (Gigantic regular) because I never use it, but it refuses to budge.I tried removing it via the Adobe Cloud app on my Windows 10 PC. In the app it would display as removed, but was still present in Photoshop. I tried this method several times, but the font would reappear both in the Cloud app and in Photoshop. Today, I noticed that it has disappeared from the Adobe Cloud app, and is displaying as having been removed, yet it is still available in Photoshop. Also, this font does not appear in the Windows font manager. It also shows as not installed on the Abode website where you can browse/add/remove all the available fonts. Can someone please help me remove this font, preferably without deleting all my other Adobe fonts that I use in Photoshop.
In my workflow, AI is a collaborator at the start—not the decision-maker at the end. I use partner models like Gemini, Nano Banana, and FluxContext Pro inside Photoshop to quickly generate starting points, variations, and directions. From there, the work becomes intentional: cropping, masking, color and lighting adjustments, and compositional refinement using Photoshop’s core tools.Sometimes I take selected artwork into Illustrator for AI-assisted Image Trace, vector cleanup, or pattern creation. Files may go to a manufacturer for physical samples, and when those come back, I bring photos of the real product into Photoshop to build polished marketing visuals and mockups.Partner models accelerate exploration. Photoshop is where authorship, judgment, and intent take over. I’ve shared a short video walkthrough of this process—curious how others are using partner models like Adobe Firefly, Gemini, Nano Banana, or FluxContext Pro in their workflows.
Hello everyone, Maybe you can help me?I am looking for a way to get pattern fills back into individual data.My idea would be a script that outputs the size of the individual tile of the pattern fill and adjusts the document size on this basis. now you would only have to rasterize and have the individual tile of the pattern fill? What is the best way to implement this? are there any other solutions? Many thanks in advance for your help 🙂
After selecting several color sample points I have numbered cross-hair points on the image and the RGB values shown in the side Info panel. How do I clear all these color samples? I have seen mentions of a “clear all” context menu option but I do not see such a thing. How do I get rid of the sample points on the image and the data in the side panel?
I would say 95% of the time when I go to use "generative expand" in photoshop I get this pop up, "Something went wrong. Please try again." My machine is updated, photoshop is updated, cache cleared, I even restarted my computer. After all of this, any time I go to use "generative expand" - which is on average once a week - it almost never works and I end up having to photoshop it the old fashioned way. We switched to a subscription based service to have the newest technology, but what's the point if that new technology never works? I'm paying a premium price for the same features I used 10 years ago. Generative expand is a great tool when and IF it works. Please fix because it's really annoying.
I got the last version of photoshop. Under Plugins I only have plugin panel and manage plugin but no browse plug in.
Shift and control still allow me to save(ctrl+shift+s) or select my entire screen(ctrl+a) but its just layers and rotating to my current knowledge. I have already restarted my computer, redownloaded photoshop, and its an issue both with stylus and trackpad.
This same issue is driving me NUTS - I know how to use Photoshop - Used it for years - something changed… I can’t get a transparent box on export of PNG!!!
Photoshop 2026 limits undos/history to a maximum of 5. This is a known bug in Illustrator 2026 that has a fix in progress, announced on a similar thread for that program. I can’t find an equivalent thread for this same issue in the Photoshop forums, so figured I’d report just to be sure it’s been recorded/made visible. Not seeking assistance, I’m just going to go back to the previous stable version so I can keep scooting on my work, so this is just a report. Thank you!
Hi, I tried to open a file and got this message, which I’ve never seen before. This is a fairly old file which I’ve opened many times before. Any idea why I’m getting this message and if there is anything I can do about it? Thanks.
Been searching but haven't found answers. How Do I Change Save / Save As Default from PSD to JPG in Photoshop CC? These are my steps: - Editing a RAW file in ACR - Then open it in Photoshop to do more edits - Save/Save As... Photoshop defaults to PSD. I've read other discussions that's because Photoshop will default to original file format. But this is a RAW file, not a PSD file to begin with. My question is how do I change this default to JPG instead of PSD? It's annoying having to use the mouse to go down the drop down menu and scroll through to find JPG to save the file. I move through keyboard shortcus, so stopping to use the mouse just do select JPG really slows me down. Any feedback is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Hi there! I'm having trouble trying to solve this problem concerning color correction. The image on the top right is in Photoshop and shows color corrected, accurate colors. The image on bottom right shows the exported JPEG in my computer photo viewer. The image on the LEFT is the upload to social media (Patreon). When I go to share this exported JPEG on email or social media, it becomes OVERLY saturated. What is happening, and how do I make them align?I am using these color settings in PSD:Any help is appreciated!
