Questions

Seems to me that when a picture is wrongly orientated (shown landscape in Organiser when the picture is composed portrait, or vica versa), faces that are clear, but on their side, are not recognised.  I know I can "Mark Face" - but, when I have re-orientated it, is there a way to ask Photoshop to run face recognition on an individual picture ?

I use the selection tool, select the sky, and now I don’t know how to accept that selection.

I want to remove adobe raw from Elements 2024.  I found instructions that said to delete the plug in.  I uninstalled the plug in, but adobe raw still appears in the edit menu.  What do I need to do to remove adobe raw?

Elements 26 Organizer and Editor will not open .Nothing happens at all , no error message ,when i click on organizer or editor the blue thing goes round but nothing opens .

These are instructions for a class I am taking:  Press shift, control J to cut out selection and place on it's own layer.  When I do I get an error instant GIF off and it doesn't perform the task.Also if I use shift control U to make pic black and white I get in-game replay message and doesn't turn pic black and white. I am using PSE 2024 with windows 10.   Any ideas why this is happening?        

Until a few weeks ago, I have been able to print from PE 2024 to my WiFi connected printer, an Epson ET-8550. I am running this on Win10.The printing utility in PE allows me to select the printer and change its options, but when I click the Print button, it spends the next 15-20sec doing nothing and then defaults to the default printer (HP Laserjet). I haven’t tried switching the ET-8550 as the default, as it seems to me that it is timing out on connecting to it. In the printing dialogue, under More Options, the colour management is set to “Printer Manages Colors”, and under Edit>Color Settings, “Always Optimize Color for Computer Screens” is selected.I have found that I am able ro print from Windows Photo Viewer, and little else, as a .tif file.I’d appreciate some help on this. I have been using the Photoshop Elements photo editor just fine, but recently it won't open and sends me to a Free Trial page. I have it on my PC with Windows 11. I was able to get the Photoshop Premiere video program open, just not the photo editor. 

(google trad) Hello, I'm having trouble installing Photoshop Elements 15 on a new PC (Windows 11). Photoshop Elements 15 refuses to activate my license. After contacting Adobe support, I was able to verify (unsuccessfully) that my license was indeed deactivated on my other devices. I also tried reinstalling with my antivirus and firewall disabled.Has anyone else encountered or resolved this type of problem? Thank you for your help. 

If I open two designs in 2026 and I want to move a design in one to the other design how do I do that?  In 2021 I just highlighted and moved to the screen at the bottom of the other design.  Now I can’t find any way to make this work.  Help.

Moved all Photos from old laptop to individual folders on new ASUS 15” laptop then purchased new Photoshop Eliments from Adobe. Opened Elements organizer and highlighted all photos in each folder and imported into Elements {all 6000+ of them}. Have found photos are not in date order as expected, they all seem to have a 2026 date even though the earliest was around 2013. Also some of the photos have a cloud symbol on them, I have not asked for any of these photos to be stored in the cloud. Some thumbnails have a tick mark on them why? I am sure most of my issues are probebly due to the operating system being updated from my older version. But its strainge, I am thinking I should have stuck with my old laptop with Elements 2013. I was hoping for a smooth transition but it seems its a new learing curve. Disapointed that it does not recognise RAF raw files from my Fuji S200 camera, got about 1000 files to convert to DNG;s   

I have Photoshop Express in an iPhone Pro 12 and an iPhone 17. The 12 shows “Combine Photos” as an option (I use it all the time). The 17 doesn’t. I cannot add layers.  And nothing happens when I tap “#Combine Photos” right under the search bar  

I am running Photoshop Elements 11. Recently upgraded to Windows 11. I am sure I could see a preview thumbnail of video clips in Organiser before. Now all I can see is a blank image with a file designation, mov, mp4 etc. Have I ‘lost’ a codec?

I began importing a couple of folders into Organizer 2026 yesterday that have 200,000+ files in them. I expected the process to take a day or two based on the rate in which it was processing the files during import. However, the next morning, it was done. Although, it did say it only imported like 8,000+ photos. Problem is, when I went to view them in Organizer, there are 0 (zero) photos/thumbnails showing. Nothing at all in the catalog. I tried to repair the catalog, but that didn't help.

I'm hoping someone can help me.   I am a casual user of Photoshop Elements.  I have PS Elements 2024 and it is set to automatically update. I am having a problem with the polygonal lasso tool.  The issue I am having is the tool behaves strangely. Sometimes I am unable to set an intial anchor point.  I select the tool, drag the icon onto my image and then select the point where I want to set my anchor.  I click ... nothing happens.  If I select some random spot on the image I can then set the initial anchor point.  How can I set up PSE to use the polygonal lasso in the manner that I am expecting? Another issue is that if I am successful seting the anchor point I then drag the mouse and the line showing my selection appears fine.  I then select the second anchor point and so on.  Many time though, PS automatically connects with my initial point because it decided I was done with my selection.  Of course, I disagre

Why do all selection driven tools suffer from a delay on input? Marquee, lasso, patch, polygon, or any tool that creates selections, experience a significant delay when initially dragging, which is particularly noticeable with smaller scale selections. We know that Adobe knows about this. It’s been a problem across all platforms, hardware, and with all peripheral devices, as far back as 2020, if not prior. It is present in all file types, with all layer setups, and at any resolution. Can we stop beating around the bush and get an explanation as to why this behavior is seemingly now inherent and presumably unfixable, rather than some arbitrary aberration? What changes were made that caused this?Is this the result of legacy code that is compromised by modern builds? Arbitrary driver incompatibility? What coded mechanism is the culprit here? 

When I attempt to use the move tool to resize images/components, the program delays or freezes (often 5+ seconds) before offering the Cancel/Done dialogue box (see image below), which makes this feature frustrating. I have uninstalled/reinstalled several times, which sometimes resolves it for one or two moves, but it always begins delaying, again. PSE Version …on a MacBook Air M6 Tahoe 26.2 fully up-to-date, but this problem has existed independent of iOS updates. IOW, it happened since I purchased  PSE 2026 across all iOS updates since then, except immediately after I uninstall and reinstall—but it always reappears.Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer feedback.

I use PSE2026 for comparing actual images with standard images which worked really well when using PSE2011 but I am having annoying problems when doing this in PSE 26.Depending on the amount of magnification applied, this dictates the minimum number of Pixels that Layer 1 will move over the background layer. 100% Magnification - 10 Px200% Magnification - 5 Px300% Magnification - 4Px400% Magnification - 3 Px500% - 800% Magnification - 2 Px1200% and above Magnification - 1 PxWhy can’t the Pixel movement be 1 Pixel regardless of the magnification. Pixel movements of 3 and above it makes it difficult to align Layer 1 images on the background. If you magnify the image to 1200% you can’t see the whole image!Additionally, when altering the size of the layer 1 images using the Move function the X and Y axes move together. If you uncheck the ‘Constrain Proportions’ box you can move the X and Y axes independantly. However when you click ‘Done’, Constrain Proportions becomes active again. Constra

Hi all, I hope this sounds familiar to someone,About a week ago I upgraded from Photoshop Elements 2021 to 2026 and since then changing the brush size via the keybord doesn't quite work anymore. For instance whenever I enlarge it by pressing alt and moving the mouse to the right ..and here comes the problem, the brush neatly SEEMS to enlarge along, but right after I use it, the size flips back to the setting it has in the tool options panel below. In other words: changing the brush size via keyboard isn't really connected to settings anymore. So my question is, have I found a bug in PSe2026 or do I have to adjust something in the software myself? And if so, which setting?Tnx for thinking (and typing) with me on this.

I’m doing a restore to a new computer of a pretty large catalog. (250k items). The backup goes without issue. The new computer has a single drive c: drive instead of two c:/d: in the old with the catalog on c: and all the files stored in D:. The restore seems to go ok and I restore without bringing over the old file structure. It takes around 4 hours to copy all the files from the external drive. Afterwards it moves to the Preparing Catalog and it seems to just hang on that. Windows thinks it not responding and it’s been that way for about 4-5 hours now. This is the second attempt to move it and the first attempt I ended after and then I had thousands of files that needed to be reconnected.  Am I not waiting long enough enough? What is it doing after the file copy and it says complete. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My old computer is running out of space and can’t be upgraded to Win11 because of age.  Thanks

I have been a Photoshop Elements user for many years, upgrading from one version to a subsequent one. In theory, the newer software reorganizes and updates the photo database. In practice, I’ve sometimes been left with digital soup. I’m presently using Photoshop Elements 2026. My organizer file has over 21,000 images in it. Keywords are divided between “Other,” “Imported Keyword Tags,” “People Tags,” “Family,” “Friends,” “Places,” and “Events.” There are people’s names in “Other” and “Imported Keyword Tags, places and evens in “Other,” and a few other oddities I can’t recall right now. Is it possible to move keyword tags from one category to another? I’d like to have all the names in “People,” geographic locations in “Places,” etc. I’d also like to be able to create new “Places,” tags, but when I try, the software brings up a U.S. map and requires me to pinpoint a location. It’s a topographical map, with no streets or addresses. I’d rather just input a city or an address.

This has been asked before, but never answered, and those threads are locked. For example: https://community.adobe.com/questions-716/theme-files-disconnected-1210159My Win10 PC had PSE 2019 (with ElementsPlus in case that matters). I reconnected all files and did a backup to a USB drive. On my new PC I installed PSE 2026 and restored the backup. Everything was successful except that in the new version Reconnect Files says there are some missing files: theme1.theme, theme2.theme…theme6.theme. These do not exist on my disk, and they do not appear anywhere in my Catalog’s Organizer screen so cannot be removed (as suggested in other answers). I searched the contents of all the XMP files for the text “theme” and they don’t appear there either.I suspect they are now there forever but a solution to this, and one that I think would be generally helpful anyway, would be if the Reconnect > All missing files > [Browse] screen included an option “Delete from Catalog” as well as the existing
