I have always been puzzled by the blue lines (straight or curved) that appear when I'm editting video. I cannot find documentation on what information these lines show me and what they are guiding me to do. I'm do a lot of zooming and focusing on particular moments in a long video (in this case an hour and a quarter long play). What makes them appear? Why do they seem cumulative in a give editing session? What about them tells me what I need to consider in order to make cleaner and smoother (or sharper and more abrupt in cases where that is appropriate..) This is likely to be too complicated at topic to consider here, but I would appreciate direction toward a good explanation of the purpose and use of what are sometimes called "motion guides,"
Hi, I want to know two things. 1- Is there any one here who knows after effects also? I mean as it is the premier pro community so I should not ask anythng about AE here, right? but I am having trouble understanding 'Sequence', is it exactly like 'composition' in AE? Or Group in Ai/PSD? I mean I can put multiple media like audio, video, image etc in one 'sequence'? I mean does sequence work like a group? which holds many things and acts as a 'one' entity? exactly like After effects composition which acts as a group? 2- What are these color mean in a video layer? It should show same thing all over its body, right? why some part violet and some light ash? Thank you.
I am currently trying automation blocks and so far its impressive Like the title I would like to know if its possible for automation block to create a script that will move a clip only on one Axis, X for example and then another different script for Y axis. I am planning to map them on my controller and use one knob to move on X and another knob to move on Y. Similar to how it can be done with any other value that is a single value.

Transcription grammar: consistently fails to capitalize after a period. I cannot understand how the transcription engine could be programmed to not capitalize EVERY TIME after a period. I waste a lot of time adding initial caps on sentances. This is stupid, should be a simple fix!
Hello everyoneI have a problem when rendering from After Effects with the Alpha channel. If I render from After Effects with the Alpha channel and I move it to Premier, in Premier I see the blacks softer, I see the image clearer. I have tried changing color profiles and it doesn't solve it. I have even tried it on other computers and it happens exactly the same. The constant is that when I render with the Alpha channel from After Effects, in Premier I see it clearer. I have also tried rendering with various codecs from Apple ProRes 444 to PNG. The same thing happens in all of them. The only difference, or the only thing that solves it, is that in Premier, changing the color space from 709 to the other option which is 2000 and something. I click OK, of course it looks bad, but if I then go back to the 709 option and click OK, everything looks fine, that is, simply in the Premier sequence settings. If I change the color profile to another one and go back to the same one, everything is sol
Hi,I am uploading videos to Creative Cloud and then downloading them to work in Premiere Pro. However, when downloading the video files, they download in 1 second, are 1kb in size, won't play in any player and when importing into PP I get this error message - This file has an unsupported compression type. I chatted to someone at support and they tried to download and everything worked fine for them. Is this an issue with my Internet? Or in PP? Thanks
Has anyone encountered a bug where, when using a video file that has captions recorded under the CEA-608 caption track, the captions show on the timeline but when i try to export a new video, the captions do not follow. I have a preset video output which includes embeded captions, but the option is not clickable. In fact, it does not even give me an option to include captions. If i transcribe the video and create new captions it works fine. Any thoughts?
I have a video that is keyframed and in 4K. I am scaling it down to fit a vertical format for social media. I want to reposition the video, but if I move the position, it is adding another keyframe and not the entire video. Is there a workaround that i'm not aware that "flattens" the keyframes/video and allows me to move the video position indepedently? I know I can export the video and do it that way, but i'm just curious if there's other options. I also tried the "nest" feature and it "flattens" the video, but it's cropped into the vertical format and removes the 4K format. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!
Hello all, I'm using Premiere Pro 25.1 on Macbook Pro M4 Pro. I have a lot of videos from my DJI Mini 4 Pro, some saved to an external SSD and some still on the SD card. When trying to import direct from SSD or SD card to Premiere Pro, the videos don't even show up in the import section. When I download the videos to the Macbook however, I am then able to import them to the program, even though the video specs are unchanged! Example video specs:File name DJI_20241226151412_0894_D.MP4Data size 167.9MBData rate 90.34Mb/sRes 3840x2160Vid format HEVC Please could someone explain what is going on, I would like to be able to import direct from SSD/SD rather than have to download to Mac first. Thanks.
Hello people, I've built a new PC, and every time I try to render a video, Premiere Pro crashes out of nowhere. It starts off well, reaching 30%, with all fans running at full speed to keep the machine cool. Suddenly, the fans begin to slow down, as if the rendering is complete. Shortly after, about 8 seconds later, Premiere Pro crashes. I've tried everything – a fresh installation of Windows 11, installed all the latest updates, tried new RAM sticks (just in case), completely disassembled the computer for a thorough inspection but found nothing unusual. I've also applied new thermal paste, but nothing seems to help. The export settings are as follows: 2 MP4 video formats - the first is a facecam recording at 25fps (captured with Sony A6700 in Slog3), color-graded; the second is a gameplay video at 4k 60fps. The gameplay video underwent a standard edit with only color grading and nothing else special. Format: H.264Frame size: UHD (3840x2160)Frame rate: 60Field Order: Progress
When I go to add text to my project nothing happens.I've tried using the Type Tool and click directly on the Program screen. Nothing happens.Tried going to Graphics > New Layer > Text and nothing happens.Have quit and re-opened the application.Tried restarting my computer.Did the latest update.Uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere Pro.None of that has helped. Is there some weird thing I have done by accident that's affecting me adding text? Please help! 🙂
So when you scrub the time bar through the sequence, it goes at an increment that I currently do not know. I want to sync my video to a song using an increment of time for each photo that I've set to be 2.310 seconds apart. Currently I have to keep scrubbing/re-entering a calculated time from google into the timecode box to go to multiples of this time. Is there any way to do this better and faster?
I've used Vegas for years, and decided to give Premiere Pro another go, and happened to notice a trial was available. One of the things I was looking forward to, is having integrated clip sync. I took two shots, one from a Sony A6500 and the other from a Panasonic GX8. Both in 2160/24. Used audio to sync, which had a loud clap on both camera tracks. I get the following error:could not synchronize one or more clips because a match could not be found. Now I know this has been posted before. But I have tried every suggestion I can find. Funnily enough, I own Pluraleyes, which was a must for Vegas. Clips sync up perfectly. PPro 13.1 Wintel 10
Hi, so I finished editing a series with the proxy files I recieved from the DIT team. I've just got the full res files and was going to link them. I've worked with this workflow on the same job multiple times but this time the DIT team synced the audio with the camera for the proxy files so the audio channels for the proxy and full res files don't match-hence the problem.I've tried the method of offlining all the proxies and relinking the originals instead, but I don't know if it's because the proxy is a mov file and the full-res is a mp4 file, they don't sync. Please help..
In this video text is hard-coded into video. Is there any way to remove this text only in APPr? I tried with mask but mask hides the boat as well, you can see in the screen shot. I have attached the original video as well.
I just came over from Sony Vegas Pro 9 (which kicks —, but has bad native support for DSLR files). In Vegas you can apply effects to video in three ways:1. A whole clip in the project media bin (automatically applying such effects to all timeline events using this clip).2. Individual timeline events.3. Entire video tracks (automatically applying such effects to every clip on the track). Is this possible in Premiere CS5? I find it hard to believe that it's not possible since it is such a useful thing to do. For example, what if you have a bunch of footage that you want to look grainy but you don't want to apply the same effect to every timeline event from the clips because it is time consuming and creates many sources of change if you want to tweak the effect settings?Mod note: Warning. Do not use profanity. It is against our community guidelines.
Hi,This is the first time I'm trying to simplify my work, using the captions tools, so I can use to make a CC, OC and a SRT.Tee point is, that my caption window doesn't show up any editor tool, see screenshot to clarify. Thanks in advance...
For some context, I work as a video editor for a firm. Recently, Adobe products have been extremely laggy but only on my firm's server and not on my computer's personal server. The weird thing is, other editor's within the same office don't share these issues except for one other person. He and I both edit on a MacBook Pro, with an Apple M2 Max chip and plenty of memory. All of our Adobe products are running on their latest updates (Premiere Pro 25), his macOS is up to date but mine is not, however, we both have the same issue. It doesn't seem to be a bandwith issue for the server, because no one else is experiencing this, and it's not a connection issue, as we all run on the same internet and again only the two of us experience this lag. And like I mentioned above, this issue has only recently occured and this lag wasn't always the case. I'm not sure why Adobe has been acting up for us and nobody else in our office. If anyone has any idea how this could be resolved, that would be very
Hi, I'm utilizing VR De-noise to correct some low lit footage. The render plays back fine but certain frames appear broken when pausing or scrubbing. What is this called and how can I remedy it? Thanks, Ty
In the video attached you'll notice a flickering black line around a mask. The video file in premiere was 'replaced with AE comp' where the designer then tracked a garbage can and used a reference frame and used content aware to fill in the snow. Once complete, the mask in Premiere Pro and on proof export show that black outline. Attempted to expand the mask, then tried expanding the fill. Feathered, scaled, etc. None of which removed this outline with precision it just seems to move slightly when these parameters are played with - but never goes away. I am at a loss on this one. Any ideas? Thanks!
I have about 2 hundred clips all back to back and need about 10 seconds of space between each one. I can't think of any creative way to do this all at once. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I am very new to Premier pro, I was learning. I dnt know what I did, or what I pressed in keyboard, But my mouse pointer has changed. Please guide me to get back the normal mouse pointer. Please.
I'm a DP and colorist shooting on the Arri Alexa MiniLF for the most of my work. Myself and the production companies I work with all want to use the HDE workflow but Premiere still has no support. It's frustrating that there's no info out there and the Adobe still has no support. Anyone know if this is coming or when it's coming?
