I am ready to pull my hair out.  I was hoping 2025 would fix the painful issues with tagging a document.  Here is my problem:Word document (100% accessible) - converted to PDF.Opended PDF in Adobe Pro 2025 and used the prepare a form tool.Spent about 3 hours tweaking a few field names and the tool tips, manually adjusted the reading order and adding radio buttons as well as a few calculation  formulas. Ran the accessibility checker.  Had issues with all of the radio buttons I added.Went to the tagging pannel.  Couldn't figure out how to get it to recognize the radio buttons.Tried Automatically tag PDF.  That wipped out the entire tagging structure, rebuilt it and now I have ooodles of tagging errors.   Had oodles of document structure errors. Totally messed up the accessibility of my document. Went to the Reading order pannel.  Cleared the document structure and tried to manually assign the structure types.  There are three se

Hi there, this is no doubt a qyuyestion that exposes my ignorance. I have created a series of files and emailed them to myself and others, however now cannot open them and all have this message: 'This PDF file is protected You'll need a different reader in order to view this content: Download a compatible PDF reader. This PDF Document has been protected. The reader you are using does not support opening files protected by Microsoft Office' How on earth is this possible as I do not recall actively adding any protectuion to these files. How on earth can I open/read these? 

I know there has been a lot of talk about this topic. BUT -Why is it, that I have two similar PCs in my office - both run standard windows 10, and acrobat pro dc. But on one of them some PDFs looks like jibberish - weird characters that don't make any sense.It's not just from one source, that the PDFs are unreadable. Someone wrote that it was generated from companies using "not-adobe" programs to create their PDF, but thats not the case, since I have two PCs where one can read the PDFs and the other can't. What is the solution - there has got to be one!

Hi,We have a requirement where we will pass a file(jpg,tif,pdf etc) to OCR system through a service and in return the OCR system will extract the text from the file and will send that text in response of that service request. Does Acrobat Pro DC supports this kind of requirement ?Thanks!

It seems I was able to find old answers for old versions that are no longer valid.I have the Acrobat reader, version 2025.001.20577 and I don't want to have to turn the rulers on every time I open a file.Isn't there a default setting? Edit - Perference - General or any other catagory doesn't have a selection. I hope someone has an answer. Thank you...

I have been using Adobe FrameMaker, Acrobat Pro and Enfocus Pitstop to create print PDFs for well over 10 years using the same process, the process has not changed. On Aug 14th, the appearance of Pantone 152 U changed from orange to green, and I can not figure it out.

Hello, I am trying to install Acrobat; however, it does not want to download past 45% and then prompts me with Error code 136: (Unable to install the product). I have reason to believe that it is because it still has Acrobat Distiller and Acrobat installed; however, when downloading the remover tool, it is not able to find them. What can I do about this?

I have a web design client, a dentist who is requesting a PDF form which he intends to use as a waiver for his patients to sign, before undergoing dental procedures. The intended workflow for the document would be: Doctor explains to the patient the procedure that will be performed on them.Doctor hands a tablet with a blank copy of the form to the patient, which they have to fill out with their name, date and e-mail, then write their initials on each of the ten clauses, finally proceeding to sign and clicking on a button to submit the form.A copy gets sent to the patient, and another copy gets sent to the clinic for their records. Is a field where they could add their signature using their finger or tablet pen possible? Or would they need to sign by typing in their name once again? Considering that the doctor wouldn't send the form to the patient over email, but would instead provide a blank copy preloaded in a tablet, what would be the ideal method to store the for

I am trying to convert some photocopied bank statements into a more usable form. I am able to successfully use the OCR scanning tool to create a pdf file which contains editable text and images. Now I need to know how to extract the editable text from the resulting file line-by-line like the "Read out Loud" tool does.  If I simply try to use the mouse to select the main body of the page (which contains a table of transactions with mm/dd date on the left, a description, and a dollar amount), as I drag the selected area across the page, the selected area expands upward and downward to include editable text at the top and bottom of the page, which I don't want. If I then paste the selected text into a plain text file, I get a completely jumbled result which cannot possibly be parsed into what I want. The issue seems to be that the copy operation proceeds in a kind of vertical columnar manner from left to right, over the entire page. It is obviously possible to process the editable te

HiI am switching laptops.  When installing my Adobe XI Pro (7.0) onto the new laptop I made sure to deactivate my license on my old laptop before adding in the license to the new installation and when I log into my Adobe account, it does not show any activated devices. However, the product is still registered with my email and shows when I log into my Adobe account.  However, on my new laptop, although the install was successful and I can use it, it is now past 30 days, and I'm trying to activate it in a new laptop. When I log into my Adobe account to register the product again, I keep getting a message saying my serial number is already in use. I spoke to customer service and they said it is out of warranty. This license was only on my old laptop, which I removed the installation from.  There is no other computer with it.  Any suggestions on how do I activate it in my new laptop. Auf der ersten (win11) funktionierte es gut. Bei der zweiten wird meine Seriennummer nicht akzeptiert. Ich hätte zu viele Geräte aktiviert. Gesehen habe ich aber nur eins. In meiner Verzweifelung deaktivierte ich es. Trotzdem kann ich den Acrobat nicht aktivieren! Was kann ich tun?Steffen

Having an annoying issue while upgrading users from Acrobat Reader to Acrobat Standard/ Pro, depending on license.By default we install Reader on everyone's machines. When a user requires a version of Acrobat with more features we assign them a license and go about upgrading it. Sometimes when I am upgrading Reader on Windows machines, I can go to 'tools' within the application and one of the listed tools will be 'Edit'. Clicking this prompts the application to check the user's account for a license, sees that they have a Standard/ Pro license and there's a popup saying Reader can't edit PDFs but since a license is possessed, it will upgrade to Standard/ Pro in the background. Perfect.Other times (most of the time) this does not happen, because the 'tools' tab doesn't list all the features that better versions of Acrobat have, so there is nothing for me to click to prompt the upgrade. Hi all. I’m running Acrobat v25.001.20630. It’s always been tricky to know when updates are out. I know you can manually check inside Acrobat, but it doesn’t always show an update. And unlike the CC app, there’s no update popup or alert, nor does it appear alongside PS or PremPro in View Updates. Is there a way to update Acrobat directly from the CC app with the others? If not, could this be added in a future update? It’d make it easier to keep all apps updated together and be notified easier.

Hi, I have been looking for an option on how to automatically rename a PDF file after it being split. The renaming should be based on each specific PDF files content. After having googled around I stumbled upon something called Action Wizard, where people have had an option "Auto-rename" under the "More" tool. However, I cannot find this tool within my package. I tried to find and download it here: https://acrobatusers.com/actions-exchange/?trackingid=JZXYQ but I cannot find it. Is it possible to use the Action Wizard Auto-rename program to help me with my split PDF files, and how do I download it? 

As early as January of this year I was able to select hundreds of .msg files from Outlook and convert to individual PDF files using the Acrobat tool from Outlook. This was a quick seamless process and valuable tool. What has changed and is there another solution?

Hello there,I recently updated my PC to Windows 11 and installed Acrobat via Cloud. Since then the preflight does not work anymore. It does not open the preflight window and just shows the text, that it is being installed - but it never does. Sometimes I get a delayed message, that "I have to manually" install an element (guessing the preflight?), but it just leads me to an acrobat installer package of Adobe. I attached simple screenshots for to reproduce this effecet. I did clean uninstalls via acro uninstaller and also testes Acrobat Pro 2024, but with the same effect. Maybe someone encountered the same issue or knows a workaround? I went through the standard ChatGPT stuff (uninstall & reboot, remove appdata DC folder & restart).

Hello team, we are trying to add E-Signature to PDF files but for some reason the plus options never showed up. It always has a spinning circle and never works out. We have a workaround below from someone but it never works on one of the laptops. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.Workaround:deleted those three files from this location C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security and remove these three files.1) acrobat_fss_signature_initials2) acrobat_fss_signature_initialsi3) acrobat_fss_signature_initialskThen uncheck Save signature box when you add signature.  Thank you!

I regret signing up for Adobe AI Assistant for Acrobat which included undisclosed components that could not be removed during the uninstall process. Adobe has the capability of providing a Bill of Materials, i.e. a list of all components included with, and/or deployed with Adobe AI Assistant for Acrobat. I want to share this post and answers for this entire community but I want answers directly from Adobe representatives. Please provide me a list of all applications and processes to uninstall related to Adobe products on Windows 11.

Hello all, I think the subject describes the issue. I have set Acrobat as the default app, and I have tried managing the Outlook add-in, but PDF attachments still open in Reader rather than full Acrobat when I open a PDF from an attachment. If I save the attachment elsewhere, then it will open in the full version. Any ideas on how I can open a PDF directly to the full version when opening from an attachment in Outlook? 

I have a merged PDF that is comprised of a cover letter (page 1) and email attached to the cover letter (pages 2 and 3) . The email is a standard Outlook email with standard text, exported to PDF from Outlook. Each of the three pages also have text boxes that were added to indicate page numbers and Exhibit reference numbers. When I print the PDF out, all the added text boxes disappear.What is odd is that part of the email text (the first paragraph of the email, under the email header) also disappears completely. What are possible explanations for this?I understand why added text boxes might disappear (default settings for text boxes can viewable but not printable), but why would a section of original text from the email disappear - unless it was altered?One explanation is that the first paragraph was covered, and a text box with different text was added on top. I need help restoring comments (4 days of work) that disappeared in the Acrobat web app. I added many comments only in the web browser (Acrobat online storage). I made sure it was auto-saved.In the file list it shows Last modified: Aug 14, 5:18 AM (JST), but the file’s Properties show Last modified: Aug 10 (KST).<file list><file properties>Now all of my comments made after August 10 are gone. I didn’t intentionally revert or delete anything.I tried to look for version history but the file does not show Version History or View Details. This is the document I NEED to submit early next week and this happens...please can anyone help how I can restore the comments made until yesterday?
