Substance 3D Stager

Hello everyone!  My name is Jeanette Mathews - I'm the product manager for both Adobe Dimension and Substance 3D Stager.  Placing graphics quickly onto models has been a core capability in both of these tools.  When we launched Stager there was a ton of changes in our rendering and material technology, which caused the quality of decals placed on models to go down significantly compared to what had been avialable in Dimension.   Unfortunately, it took a long time before we were able to address these issues.  We sincerely apologize for the impact to your work in the mean time. Improvements to Stagers decaling quality were completed over the summer and are included in Substance 3D Stager 2.1.1.  Here are some screenshots comparing Dimension and Stager.      We hope that these improvements make using the decal and image placement in Stager better.  As you can see the final results are actually better than Dimension was in some cases. &nbs

I was unable to open apps adobe 3d stager,  when i import object or anything into viewport its getting stuck thereonly showing loading bar continuouslyHelp Please

This is the first time this has ever happened but usually, when I go to place images onto an object, the images is placed onto the object no problem. However, when I'm trying to drag the image from my files onto the object, the object disappears and the image also isn't visible. Please watch the attached video for more context as I feel that is a bad explanation. I have already uninstalled and re-installed the program. Thanks in advance,Liam.

Is there a need for a book for Adobe Stager similar to the "Adobe Classroom in A Book: Adobe Dimension"? Granted for many folks here on the community page, maybe not, but your 'gut' feeling of people you know or work with that have an interest. How about you educators, do you see a need for such a book in your curriculum? Would really appreciate reader's responding to this query...thank you ahead of time for taking time to respond. 

As of a previous version (2.1.1) I have been unable to open ANY saved stager scene/file to use again.Upon opening a saved scene, from File -> Open.../Open Recent/or Recent displayed thumbnails, the program goes to a blank pre-loading state and hangs there indefinitely. It doesn't matter where the file is saved to (I have multiple drives on my computer) or what was in it. The program simply won't open saved files.File -> New and importing any 3D fbx file (I can't say for other file types) results in the same type of hang up.I am able to browse and open drop down menus in the program, but it never actually creates or opens a scene to begin working in.Computer's specs:This is getting exceptionally frustrating and any help or suggestions would be great.

 I have been having this issues for ages and am finally posting about it. I've been encountering this issue everytime. A render completes, successfully saves to disk, however within stager, it reports a cancelled render. I'm unable to exit this state and need to relaunch Stager to fire off another render. 

Is there a specific date to fully support Apple M1 and M2 processors?

I have a new issue that's popped up in recent weeks with Stager. After I'd worked on a file for some time, it seems to become corrupted. I can open the file but none of the scene objects show in the panel including cameras, mobiles, and lights. It's almost impossible to work on the file. It seems to happen to all of my files at once... I save several versions as I work and when I try to go back to a previous version, it has the same issue. Here's a screenshot of what my panels for scene, actions, and properties looks like - it's just blank. https://share.getcloudapp.com/d5unAeRW I also can't render and I believe that's because it can't find a camera or the current viewport. The button to render is disabled.I can't be the only one have this issue. Hoping someone has figured it out.I have tried opening from my local drive and reinstalling the app.Any other ideas? Mac Monterey, files stored on google drive.  

I've been provided a group of .X_T files that I'm to modify in Substance. I've looked online and could only find that Seimens' ParaSolid software can open such files. Is anyone here aware of a workaround to open .X_T files? Thank you for your help.

Hi! I think this is a processing power problem but I wanted to mention it just in case it's not, maybe I can still salvage my file. I was building a fairly complex 3D scene in Stager and was importing another body when I noticed the new body's name did not show up in the scene list. I quit the file and reopend it to discover all of my items were gone from the scene list and thus no longer editable. Everything is still on the stage but the labels in the scene list are gone and the "actions" tab is also unactive, so no selecting materials etc. All previous projects open and are working fine.The file size of the Stager document is 858MB.I'm running Mac OS Ventura on a Mac Studio M1 Chip64 Gigs of RamShould I look for more processing power or is something else going on?Thanks!

This issue has been killing me. If a model is sent to stager from painter, then you cannot replace any of the maps individually from within stager. Example:You have a model in stager, you've moved it around, and even duplicated it. Now you need to make a base color change to one small component. ,You don't want to redo all of the layout work you've done in stager, but there is no refresh from Painter function. Furthermore, you might have displacements set to a high resolution that took a while to process. If you reimport, you'll have to wait on that again. You think, no problem. I'll just export an updated base color map from painter and import that into the base color channel that you TOTALLY DO HAVE ACCESS TO in Stager. Nope not allowed. Your only option is to edit it within photoshop, paste in your new basecolor map, and then it works.  I could understand this being locked out if it broke communication between Painter and Stager, except there is no communication

Discovered an issue with unlinked materials (so you can change the color for the individual item) when a decal is applied. I had upgraded to 2.1.2 and on save, 5 seconds after the save finished, the decal would delete itself. I rolled back to 2.1.1 and the problem appears to be fixed, but the bug needs to be addressed for future versions.

Hi there,  How can I access the rotation settings for the enviornment when its rotated via the shift-RMB shortcut? Rotating the environment with shift-RMB way does not affect the global environment rotation setting that you can access when selecting the environment. I don't know why these are separated in the first place. I'm trying to match the lighting in another scene but can't figure out the rotation values for the environment since i adjusted it using shift-rmb. LT

I was so happy to see the turntable spin and orbit features that have been added to Stager, thank you! Would like to make a feature request to be able to import animated GLB and FBX files to Stager also...this would be a game changer if I could bring my animated characters in! I love Stager and would love to be able to use it more but since most of my things are animated I've been limited in what I can do with it. Hoping it's on the roadmap for the future at some point!

Hi there, I've encountered an issue where no amount of uninstalling, restarting or resetting seems to fix for me. When I open an existing document or a new document, the workspace/document window/main screen is blank or black. 

Model import from Solidworks is broken for Solidworks 2023 files.  I found some older files that haven't been updated since Solidworks 2022 and they import fine, but everything saved in 2023 errors.Please update the importer.  Exporting as a .step file works,but it would be nice to be able to skip that step. I have started creating a cover page with a render for every drawing that I do that gets sent out to a customer, so any reduction in steps and file count would be appreciated.  

I wuld like to know how to export a model and/or a scene to a .psd file (if possible)?  It seems that option is not available. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I tried using the latest version of substance stager after several months and the software keeps freezing on the launch screen. I've attached the screen where the applications get frozen. I've tried reinstalling the application and tried using the older versions as well but the same problem persists. Can I please get some fix for this please? 

Hello,  I created a composition in stager, and wish to visualize it in an AR app on my phone. Yet, the composition / creation is way too big. How can I reduce the file format, or reduce the polygons, withing Adobe.  I dont want to delete elements etc, as my project will become even bigger later on. I just want to reduce the size of the general file.  I you could help me do this, would be wonderful. 

I have some objects in my scene I applied a height map to and activated displacement. Now I cant seem to deactivate - or reactivate - this setting on these objects, the button is greyed out. Why?

The new Stager update has this weird bug where the entire screen goes blank. So, it freezes and it's impossible to restore any work (corrupts the files too) - won't close without a "force quit action." I have had to do this several times already and it's very unreliable/concering; Here's a screenshot, if anyone has ideas. 🤷🏻‍♀️(Don't think it's my laptop but for reference, I am running macOS Sonoma, on MacBook Pro M1 chip.)
