!--scriptorstartfragment-->We are using free Adobe Acrobat Reader on Windows. Background:- In our customer environment, about half of the PCs have already been updated from 32-bit Reader to 64-bit Reader in the past.- Because of that, we are now considering moving all remaining PCs to 64-bit Reader as well.- Our current plan is to re-enable automatic updates and remove previous registry/GPO-based controls related to 32-bit/64-bit behavior. Issue:- Previously, in some environments, we observed behavior that appeared to guide or prompt users from 32-bit Reader to 64-bit Reader.- However, in our recent test environment, we can no longer reproduce that behavior.- We want to understand whether 32-bit to 64-bit migration for free Acrobat Reader on Windows is still active and how it is supposed to work now. Questions:1. Is 32-bit to 64-bit migration still active for free Acrobat Reader on Windows?2. Is this migration silent by design, or should users see any prompt or UI?3. If automatic up
I opened a PDF file & I noticed a name of the file is displayed incorrectly. This seems like new bug since I wasn’t having any such issue till now. When I switch between the multiple applications & files, this issue creates confusion for me. I don’t know if I am referring to the correct file or not, so I have to double check the content before proceeding further.Anyone else is facing this? & is there any workaround for this bug?I don’t seem to find option to report it. So if there is one, kindly share that here as well.
Adobe Reader does not validate isomorphic signature files consistently. We have 2 files signed with EUTL trusted CA and LTA enabled with EUTL TSA (Timestamp). They are both valid according to the Esig DSS validation service, but Adobe Reader (latest and earlier versions) flags one as NOT valid and the other as valid. We have made object-level analysis and no structural differences are found. The one regarded as invalid is based on an editable form that was “frozen” to non-editable before signature. This seems significant. The files were both produced using the latest version of Esig DSS code package, release 6.4. - but same error occurs when we sign the form file with older DSS version. Screenshots of the example files.
Hi,I am encountering an "Unsupported Algorithm" error when trying to sign documents with a NIST P-384 (EC) certificate via a PKCS#11 module, although RSA signatures work perfectly with the same setup. Since Adobe's official documentation states that Elliptic Curve cryptography is supported, but the signature cannot be created in this case, I would like to ask for your guidance on how to resolve this. Is there a specific configuration or a known compatibility issue in Acrobat Reader regarding hardware-based EC signatures that we should follow?Best Regards,Melis.
I added a password to an Adobe Acrobat document which works to open the document, as intended, but the same password will not allow me to edit or print (to PDF) the document. I only created this one password. So what's going on? Why is Acrobat not accepting the one and only password I created when it uses that password to OPEN the document but refuses the password for EDITING or PRINTING?
Hello, I am working for an enterprise working with Acrobat native desktop apps rather than browser-based tools. We have conditional access policies in place via Azure Conditional Access. The rules include device-aware granting and blocking, meaning that users must have a compliant device to be able to access the app after successful authentication. Unfortunately, the Acrobat desktop apps do not send any information about the client and thus, the access is refused. It all comes down to the Primary Refresh Token not being transmitted with the authentication request of the app. If the Adobe team used the MSAL library, this would solve this problem. Can you please have a look at this issue?
When I formally request an Adobe Acrobat Reader Distribution License I am met with a rejection notice for: “License Form can not be provided for the public emails.” Unfortunately, I do not currently possess a custom registered business domain. However, I plan to include Adobe Acrobat Reader on my Compact Disc (CD) products to help my customers view media from their CD(s). I plan to serve around 100 customers this year, until the end of 2026. I am respectfully requesting an Adobe Acrobat Reader Distribution License for the purpose(s) described above. Thank you in advance!

We use desktop PCs with multiple monitors (2 or 3) and Windows 11. Windows has a feature that it tries to remember on which monitor was app running last time it was closed, and when you open it again it will launch on that same monitor. But this feature doesn’t work properly with Adobe Reader, and since monday it’s kinda broken. Let me explainUser1: three monitors side by side, center is main. User opens some pdf that he never opened, it opens on center monitor. He moves the window to left monitor and closes it. He opens again the same pdf and it opens on the left monior. He closes it and opens different pdf that he never opened before. It opens on center monitor. He moves it to right monitor, closes it and openes again. It opens on right monitor. He closes it and opens previous pdf. It opens on left screen. User is annoyed 🙄.User2: two monitors, right one is main, left one is secondary, new Adobe UI. Users opens pdf from Outlook (classic) running on left monitor. Adobe Reader opens o

This is not a question, but a suggestion. This product's version numbering scheme is very confusing and should be simplified. Currently, the version number is a code of YYYY.nnn.nnnn, where Y is the year and n is a number. Use case: It's not intuitive to ask someone to download version “YYYY.nnn.nnnn"
I installed Acrobat Reader on a Windows 11 machine and am getting a view in which all tools are spread across the screen at different locations as shown in the first image below. Also, some tools are floating around. which I want to avoid. I want to change the view back to old one I am used to as in second image below. How to get the view on the second imave on a Windows 11 machine.
I have a number of documents with links to youtube videos. These had worked a few weeks ago, provided we exported the doc to a PDF rather than 'saved as'. Please can you advise how I make these links now work? Thanks....
Not a question, but a suggestion that this forum should be called exactly what the product is designated “Adobe Acrobat Reader”.
I noticed that the ability to delete pages is still a premium feature. That's ridiculous in 2026! Could you reconsider the FREE vs. PRO options? Many people have the Reader app, and basic tasks should be included, not just viewing.Years ago, I also requested a searchable settings menu. Nothing has changed. Sad.
Hello, I have been using windows 8 on my laptop, sometime adobe reader could not open bigger file which must be size above of 100mb. I have updated adobe reader regularly. I have been facing this problem from last one month. Thanks,Steven Lash San Diego

For many years I have had trouble free borrowing from Borrow Box.Having changed my computer and moved from Windows 10 to Windows 11 I have experienced difficulties.I can borrow a book, download it to the computer and so read it but the transfer to my e-reader via Adobe Digital Editions no longer functions.I have ensured that the edition of ADE is current, even dis-installing and installing again but on opening the app I am confronted with a blank page. The top line with "File Edit Reading Help" is all that appears, there is no list of books borrowed, "Help" indicates it is authorised to the computer but downloaded thumb print fails to open. Can you please advise as I have no further ideas

Since installing KB5074109 the WebBrowser component can no longer load PDF’s within applications utilising Windows WebBrowser component.Instead of displaying Adobe and the PDF in the browser a grey screen appears and the Adobe Acrobat Reader process is launched but appears to not do anything.Users are using the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (2025.001.21111, although had a previous version when logged). As a work around we currently disable the add-in in Internet Options which provides users with a popup to Open or Save the PDF instead.I was monitoring threads https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/issues-with-adobe-dc-reader-after-windows-11-update-kb5074109/td-p/15665887 and https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/pdf-documents-not-loading-after-june-8th-on-64-bit-web-browser-control-web-app/td-p/12121363 (Although 4 years old had responses this week which included one saying it was being investigated by developers) but it appears since yesterday the com
Hey all, I'm trying to print a sewing pattern from acrobat reader, which has to be printed as tiles using the poster page sizing option. But when I go to print, the 'poster' button is greyed out and I can't click on it. I've got the latest version and everything and the file is specifically meant to be printed this way. Any advice? Thanks!
We have approximately 50 computers running Windows 7 that have encountered a critical issue since February 23, 2026. After Adobe Acrobat Reader automatically updated to version 25.001.21223, the application began displaying the following error message upon launch:“The program can't start because api-ms-win-core-winrt-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.”In response, we uninstalled the software and downloaded the official installer (AcroRdrDC2500120630_MUI.exe) from the official website to perform a clean installation. However, after a few days, the application automatically updated again and the same error reoccurred. As a result, we have been forced to remove the software entirely and switch to alternative PDF readers. This situation has caused significant operational disruption and inconvenience.Could you please advise whether there is currently a definitive solution to this issue?
