Adobe Premiere

Using Adobe Premiere Pro 2026 is currently completely unworkable for me. Within the first 20 minutes of use, I’m encountering persistent and critical issues that make the software unusable in a professional environment:  The playhead regularly freezes or becomes unresponsive The timeline will start playing, then continues playing indefinitely, ignoring all input Playback cannot be stopped — the only solution is to force-restart Premiere Exports frequently hang at 0%, with no progress or error message When this happens, Premiere must again be force-restarted   This is happening on an extremely simple timeline:  1 video layer (HD footage) 1 audio layer Media stored on a fast external SSD No effects, plugins, or heavy processing   System details:  Mac Studio M3 Ultra macOS 15.7.3 Premiere Pro 2026   Troubleshooting already completed:  Cleared all media caches Reset preferences Fully uninstalled Premiere Pro (including preferences and support files) Performed a clea

The video was shot upside down so now I want to preview it inthe source panel, but I dont see how to rotate it there.Must I put it in the timeline, rotate it, save it all over againas a new file, import, and THEN view it in source?Thanks anyone

Every time I try to open a project in Premiere Pro, I just get the spinning wheel until I eventually give up and force quit the application. This is happening with all my Premiere projects and is not exclusive to a single one (and the projects open fine on other computers). I can open Premiere and create a new project, but if I close Premiere and try to reopen the new project, I get the spinning wheel again. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere. Cleared my cache. Restarted the computer multiple times. I even downloaded the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, which uninstalled and cleared every Adobe product on my machine, then reinstalled Premiere and still got the same wheel issue. I'm not sure what else to try outside of resetting my entire computer... any suggestions?

When I export the video I am editing, it ends up being way brighter than what it was originally. How do I fix this?OriginalExported 

I used to make multiple masks with this simple effect - you just use it’s opacity parameter and make as many masks as needed. What is more important, an Alpha adjust mask was independent - you could isolate an object with it and add Drop shadow, Glow, Stroke as a second effect and this effect completely ignored the fact that there is a mask and it’s not the object which is somehow rounded.Image + Drop shadow >» Opacity mask + Drop shadowAlpha adjust + Drop shadowNow I move the new 26.0.2 mask data on the Alpha adjust and nothing happens. The effect does not know how to use that data. With that there is no way to use any layer “edge” effects (stroke, glow,  shadow, volumetric rays, roughen edges and so on) without nesting. And everybody hates nesting because it gives you one new layer which even doesn’t inherit the layer name and cannot be unnested if else.So… Adobe, please do something good about it.

I am importing media into my bin and they’re playing as duplicates in the source monitor. They're also reading as the same clip within the bin. Once you place clip on the timeline does it show the original footage within the clip, no longer the duplicate. I’ve reset my preferences, updated my PP app, and still nothing is helping. Please advise. 

Liebe Community,ich drehe Videos mit der DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Leider habe ich das Problem, dass die Qualität nicht mehr dieselbe ist wie beim Originalvideo, sobald ich die Clips auf TikTok oder Instagram hochlade. Nach ein paar Stunden wird die Qualität deutlich schlechter, und die 60 FPS scheinen verloren zu gehen.Könnt ihr mir Tipps zu den optimalen Exporteinstellungen geben, damit dieses Problem nicht mehr auftritt?Wenn ich die Videos direkt über die DJI-App oder mit CapCut auf dem Handy exportiere und hochlade, tritt dieses Problem nämlich nicht auf. 

I don't know how to say or ask this. But when I create a sequence and add any effect, color matte, video, audio or anything I can't see them unless I move zoom slider for 3s to 5s or at least after many frames. I have tried everything, every possible troubleshoots online. Update the GTU, change the settings, clear the media cache, start time and everything. And also, that not any available answer address or solve my problem. I am using Pro 2025. and it's very frustrating that I can't see assets in my sequence and this frustrate me a lot.First image when I stand zoom in-out slider at the end point. And in the second image it is just slight mooved forward. 

Bizarre story. Editing a project was fine until I selected the automask tool in Premier 26.02.  Computer crashed. Several attempts just to open the Project again  resulted in complete PC crashes. Created a new project and attempted to import the old project resulted in another crash.  I then attempted to import footage into the new project. The PC crashed.Finally the PC was locked in a recovery loop. Eventually had to reinstall Windows 11.Reinstalled Adobe Cloud and Premiere . Now Premier opens but crashes the moment I import footage whether audio or video. Having now had a series of crashes,  I am getting the Windows recovery screen again. I am now a little nervous.  Machine is an XPS Dell 8930 with 32GB memory and a RTX 2020 Graphics card with 6Gb. 1 TB SSD drive with 3GB WD  HDD.Ran the Dell online tests all good. Footage (Canon D7) imports into KDENLIVE happily but my project with captions is in Premiere.

I imported some new footage into a project (mts and mp3 files) I’ve tried editing since the import but the software has crashed 3 times. I had to turn off the computer and restart as everything was nonfunctional. This is Premiere Pro 25.0 Operating system – Windows 11 1.60 GHz intel core GPU driver version (Windows only) – I have 16BG of RAM and a 128MB graphics card   Please help! Can I do anything to able to re-open the project and remove the footage I imported?

I use Lightroom Classic as my initial catalog. I import footage by date and tag photos and videos with keywords in Lightroom. I then edit photos in Lightroom and video in Premiere. I’d like to know if there’s a way for Premiere to read the Lightroom keyword metadata so I can view or search by those keywords in Premiere. My goal is to have search bins in Premiere that automatically populate based on these keywords. Is there any field in Premiere’s metadata that can sync or read Lightroom keywords? Any workflow tips appreciated!

Okay so I took a field class that I documented with 2 GoPro's, 1 GoPro was always recording in standard 5.3K (5312 width 2988 height) and the other was recording with the "Max Video" function (2704 Width 1520 Height). I start the project with only the Standard 5.3k video so that it sets the video that frame size, then I add in the "Max" videos and then synchronize via audio. While editing I commonly switch back and forth between camera views, using the scale to frame size function for the Max video. Also, occasionally I will have the max video as a smaller window within the Standard 5.3k video to allow viewing both angles at same time. The majority of the videos I utilize both sources of audio.HERE’s THE BUG: So I've spent hours editing these videos and go to export and within seconds it causes Premiere to crash, every single time!!! When using text based editing, especially when removing multiple pauses or filler words at once, there is a bug which causes there to be multiple 1-frame clips stuck between the actual video-clips. To fix it, I have to manually delete all of these excess single-frame clips, sometimes hundreds of them - as there is no way to automatically delete all clips with a length shorter than 2 frames, or something alike (this would practically solve the problem). This makes the text based editing feature borderline unusable for me, especially for long (30 min+) videos with lots of text. Encounter this bug by going through the following steps:1. Import a video file where someone is speaking2. Use text based editing to automatically remove all (small) pauses3. Find countless single-frame clips in your sequenc e, between the actual cut clips you want to use 

HelloWant to export a XML from Adobe Premiere for Davinci Resolve in the right way. I have been exporting XML from Premiere to Davinci for ages and never got any problem. But want to know what Adobe engineers suggests to export a XML from Adobe Premiere to color grade in Davinci Resolve?So I shoot this film in 3840x2160 XF-AVC in my Canon C70. I am done with my editing in Adobe Premiere. Now I am going to send it for color grading. Steps to recreate: 1. Open a project. 2. Either click the home button and select a different project, or open a project through file>open recent/open project/new project. 3. You should see the first project as ghosted over the one you just opened.

This is incredibly frustrating. Abobe, why did you change this? version 25.0 / premiere / sonoma 14.7 In older versions, "match frame" would show the used clip, both in and out point in the source monitor. This was useful for when I would need to replace the raw media back into the timeline with a simple, match frame, then insert/overwrite. It was an easy way to very quickly replace clips. This is now no longer possible, and has completely ruined my workflow for many big projects. Please make it possible to match frame both in and out points, I beg you!

I’m looking for some workflow advice from editors cutting heavier performance-based material in Premiere. I recently finished a band performance shoot where I have 17 takes of the same song stacked in a single sequence, essentially 17 video layers one above the other. My goal is to cut it almost like slicing a layer cake from top to bottom, meaning I want to move through the stacked takes visually and choose moments from each layer as I build the final edit. I haven’t cut a music video in years and this way of cutting was never an issue but I also never cut open gate material inside of a UHD timeline. Here’s the issue:Even when only the top visible layer is actually showing in the timeline output, I’m still getting dropped frames and laggy playback. It feels like Premiere is still trying to evaluate or play all 17 layers at once, even though nothing underneath the top layer is visible unless I cut down to it. My setup is not weak: Mac Pro M2 Ultra. 192 GB RAM. I have a merged source where I have combined audio track with video (due to studio outputting wrong/bad files) and using these merged sources in my edit. I have just noticed that these new clips have separate tracks (L/R) where if I need to edit volume I have to do it to both audio tracks. But another video source (see image below) one track has L/R. How do I change the audio tracks for A1 and A2 to be like A3 in one track only? 

HelloWondering if anyone else has had the same issue. Im trying to move a project from my MacBook to my iMac using the method of Project Manager; Collect files and copy to new location.But every time I try this I get a error message saying "an unknown error occurred during the project manager operation. Please save your project and retry the operation". I tried that and still no luck.Anyone able to shed light on the situation would be great. after the last update of premier pro there is no longer the option to crop a clip/image/video with handles but only with % (right, left, bottom, up). when applying the crop effect and using the pen mask tool, i can use handles but i can’t succeed to get to the result that the cropped area is left and all the rest is erased. it was so much easier before… any solution?
