After Effects

I keep getting stuck on render when working on projects with 2 minutes+ duration, the elapsed time stops moving and it doesn't matter how much I wait, nothing changes. also, everytime it gets stuck on a different frame, so it's nothing frame or effect specific. Shorter projects don't seem to have trouble rendering The program doesn't crash and I can still click on the stop button, but it doesn't do anything and nothing happens, either it's to h264 or prores, still the same This project literally only have 4 color gradient being used as an effect, nothing else but it happened on other projects as wellI've cleaned the cache and did everything except reinstall I'm running version 24.6 and I can't update to 25 because some plugins I use still don't work with the new version (although i have very simple plugins)Specs: Macbook Pro M3 Pro - 18gb RAM | 512GGB - macOS Sequoia 15.5Rendering local to an external SSD (tried rendering to my mac's ssd but still the same problem)

As i was working on my project, my after effects suddenly crashed. So i reopened it and it gave me the opportunity to launch it on "safe mode", so i clicked on it. After that, i realized all my projects were gone. Pay in mind i have my auto save on every 20 minutes so no clue how the folders could have just disappeared on its ownThe auto save feature was set to every 20 minutes and the save path was set to "next to project"I have used boris plugins but i uninstalled them. Though i recall that everytime i opened that project in the past. it would claim that some projects were missing. Perhaps the safe mode had deleted the files because of that?

Hola, estaba usando ae como normalmente lo hago. Cree un nuevo proyecto y al adjuntar solo dos videos ya no me respondia o tardaba en hacerlo. ¿Alguna solución? Ya borré el cache.Gracias.

The software itself will open and then open again in the same window (as shown in photo) and then stops responding. I have tried all of the classic fixes and nothing has worked.This is the most recent version 25.2.2, but also does not work on previous versions.I am not even trying to open a project, this is just launching the program. That being said, it also doesn't work when trying to open a project.

Back in ae 2024 we could fully customize our outlines but now when i tried to follow up tutorial from yt (he was using 2024) i came up with this problem - there's no damn tick box, even if i type "TRUE" nothing happensAnd heres what it probably should look after i turn it on(from 2024 ae)

After Effects will no longer open, versions 25.2 and 25.2.2. I get the attached error messages. I updated my mac. I completely uninstalled AE and preferences and reinstalled it. I restarted my computer. I updated from 25.2 to 25.2.2. and back down to 25.2 again. AE has read/write permissions on all my folders. It worked just the other day, and today it's bricked.--Mac Studio Apple M2 Max64 GB memorySequoia 15.5

Hello, this is my first post after more than 10 years of using AE but now I have a problem and I don't know how to solve it. I don't even have a clue where it could be coming from. I've searched and no one seems to have this problem. Basically, for some time now I've had a problem with my mouse cursor. When I click on a layer, or do a manipulation (like changing the scale, opacity etc.) or whatever I'm doing, in 80% of cases my cursor "stays down" for a few seconds (2 or 3 sec). As if I hadn't released the click.It's getting very, very annoying, because it's doing it more and more. Especially on precision work. I've noticed it's starting to happen on Premiere Pro too. But only in Adobe apps. It's not a problem with my mouse because it does it with the trackpad too. So I've tried a few things, purged the cache, reinstalled the apps, everything's up to date. Safe Mode, remove plugins too. I don't know what to do... I've got a Macbook Pro M1 Max, 64GB if that helps. Th

Quiero utilizar la función 3D advanced de After Effects o la de Draft da igual y no me deja. Me sale este error (After Effects can´t continue: Advanced 3D plug-in generated an unexpected exception) Pasos que describan como encontrar el error:1) Creo una nueva composicion2) Creo una forma (circulo, cuadrado da igual)3) Selecciono para convertirlo en 3D4) Salta el errorUtilizo windows 11 y la última versión 25.2.2. Probe desinstalando e instalando nuevamente After Effects pero no funciona.  Cuando guardo el proyecto como tal y vuelvo a entrar a ese proyecto guardado me vuelve a salir el mismo error sin que yo pueda hacer nada y entro en un bucle repetitivo. Agradecería muchísimo su ayuda, gracias.

When using the Dynamic Link feature in AE 2020-2025, after making changes in PR, the bottom-right corner of PR indicates it is syncing. At this point, editing in AE causes it to become unresponsive for anywhere from ten minutes to several tens of minutes, seemingly until the entire AE project finishes rendering. This issue does not occur in versions prior to 2020 (e.g., 2019, 2018). What could be causing this? My system specs: CPU: R9 7945HX RAM: 64GB Storage: 4TB OS: Microsoft Windows 11 Pro, Version 10.0.22631 Build 22631 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU GPU Driver Version: 566.36

This might be a bit obscure, but for anyone using aerender for command line rendering  ( AE 25.2.2 on Mac OS 15.5 ) In certain cases, if a comp includes a footage layer (so far witnessed with mp4, but perhaps other kinds of footage have the same issue), although the comp can be rendered fine from the render queue, it fails when using aerender in the command line.  No error message is reported, or "layer has no source" is reported.  However, if I turn on the -v ERRORS_AND_PROGRESS flag, the render completes normally. Seems like a bug DB

I need to change the setting of my jpeg sequence in after efects and so when I go to the interpret footage dropdown, the save option is not seen on my device. even after many attempts to scroll,zoom out change the size I cant access the bottom part of the dropdown. Ive attacthed my viewport image, pls see it and rectify the issue asap. Thank you 

Hello.Currently running into a very frustrating issue where after effects v25.2.2 makes the whole comp viewport (not just the comp itself but also it's background) much darker when I have HDR enabled on windows and I have any colorspace selected (like srgb, rec709 etc, on a 32bit project). If I have colorspace selected to "none" it looks as expected.I'm not able to take a screenshot as windows snipping tool makes the image blow out when capturing so I had to take some photos of my monitor with my phone.On the photos you can see that with colorspace "none" the comp looks as expected, but when switched to any other colorspace (srgb in this particular photo) the comp and the comp background turns significantly darker.I have tried to updated After effects, reset preferences, dissable all plugins, re-install after effects, update nvidia drivers, revert back to much older drivers, update windows, but nothing is solving this issue.I'll also add that this issue is not occuring on the after eff

While checking the Boolean-search behaviour described in the official manual I ran into what looks like either a regression or an outdated piece of documentation. Here is what I’m seeing:1 · Steps to reproduceOpen the Effects & Presets panel.Type Change → the panel correctly returns the two effects Change Color and Change to Color.Without clearing the field, change the query to Change,Color (comma-separated).Same result if you add a space after the comma: Change, Color.2 · Expected result (per manual)According to “Search and find items” in the AE help, a comma should be treated as an OR operator in all three panels (Project, Timeline, Effects & Presets). Therefore I expect to see any effect whose name contains Change or Color.3 · Actual resultThe list goes completely empty — as if the panel is looking for the literal substring change, (including the comma) rather than splitting the query into two tokens and applying OR logic.In contrast, the same query works in the Project pane

New Project -> New Comp -> Text Layer with sample text with numbersAdd a text animator (scale) -> change scale valuesAdd Expression Selector and replace expression with:text.sourceText.charAt(textIndex - 1).match(/[0-9]/) ? 100 : 0This expression will change the scale of all numbers found in the text. Anything in the regex match can be there.. this is just an example. This should work as intended and it does. If the font has ligatures and is checked, it will not work correctly. Tested this in AE 24.6.6 and 25.2.2 and is still not working as intended. The sample font I had used is Daniels Signature - Signature. Also tested with HopelessRomanticSociety - Regular. Both seem to show the same incorrect behavior. I'm not sure if it's incorrectly calling the indices or if there's something extra that needs to be called for it to work with ligatures enabled. Any ideas or is this a bug?

I have a grid of images 960x720 in a grid in my 16K comp (15360x6480) I have block dissolve set to 960x720But it is not matching the 960 widththere are 16 across which is an even number but it is the width that is inaccurate see attached?Is it broken? Did it ever work correctly? I am sure I used to use it accurately( plus the standard moan...STOP FORCING ME TO TAG AND STOP LIMITING THE SUBJECT LENGTH NOW COME ON!!!! )Tris

I'm trying to open After Effects 25.1 on my macbook and this alert keeps appearing. Once i click OK the whole app closes down and a report tab opens up. How do I fix this? I've tried deleting cache, plugins and also uninstalling and installing again. 

I am randomly now getting this export error with the latest build (25.2.0) 

Imported a vector file from Adobe Illustrator and One object came in with a neagtive starting time and ending at zero time. Is there any way to fix or avoid this issue?I have been unable to adjust the start and end times for this one object. I have attached a snapshot of the issue. I am using After Affects version 25.2.2 (Build 2)Any insite would be helpful. 

I have exported a simple 5-minute video to AE render queue and the current render bar has been spinning with 0% progress for hours. I have emptied the cache, even reinstalled AE and also moved the files directly to my hard drive to see if that would help and nothing helps. Please advise. Is something wrong or does it do this?

I got upgraded to 24.5. Can anyone confirm if any plug ins have stopped working for them?   I'm getting an error using the Red Giant 11.1.9 Keying Suite plugins (Edge Blur, Light Wrap, etc.) saying that they can not be applied to a layer.     Downgraded to 24.1 and got the following error on startup.   Now, I like VFX Suite and all, but I know that Red Giant isn't gonna do anything to support these old plugs.   Anyone else had any issues?

Hi,I create best-of videos from Twitch live streams. The rushes are about 4 hours of .ts files with variable framerate/60fps.I use Dynamic Link a lot to edit my project in After Effects. The problem is that when I do this, very often the keyframes become invisible in AE. They are still there because you can see them in the Graph Editor, which serves as a workaround for this issue, but it's not practical.I always use the latest versions of my software, and I already had this problem when I started editing, which was more than 4 years ago. I also talked to support about it, but they didn't provide a solution. In the meantime, I have changed my hardware several times. I think it's safe to say that the problem is not related to my PC, especially since I also have it on my laptop.I would really like Adobe to fix this problem, as it wastes a lot of my time on my projects.Premiere Pro V25.2.3After Effects V25.2.2
