After Effects

In After Effects 25.3 on macOS, using mouse scroll or Option + mouse scroll no longer zooms in the composition panel. Instead, it pans the view, regardless of modifier key. This function worked fine in version 25.2. Tested on multiple Macs with clean installs and no tablet drivers.Please restore the ability to zoom with scroll in a future update.

If you want to change the position of the anchor point you have to use the anchor pt tool [Y]. But changing the [X, Y] coordinates of the anchor pt in the timeline will not change the position of the anchor point in the graphic area. So that what is purpose of anchor pt coordinates in the timeline ? Video also attached.  

The Perspective Offset checkbox in Turbulent Noise does not currently work. No parallax. It does wok as it should in Fractal Noise.

Intermittently, pressing the playback shortcut (Spacebar or Numpad Enter) fails to initiate a preview. On the first press, the UI appears to "stutter" but nothing happens. On the second press, the Current Time Indicator (CTI) moves back exactly one frame and playback still does not begin

Hola.Tengo el AEjuice Pack manager y lo utilizo muy frecuentemente. Cada vez que visualizo los efectos, me toca arrastrar la ventana del pack hacia un lado para poder ver la pantalla del after effects. Me parece que debería tener un atajo de minimizar. Este atajo se lo debe poner AEjuice o After effects??

I’m just getting started with After Effects and so far I have been working with short clips and graphic files stored directly on my internal SSD. I do not plan to work on long projects, most of what I will do will be under 1 minute. The videos are imported at either 1080 or 4k. 1.) Based on what I described, and assuming there are no space limitations, is there any reason to consider working off of an external drive containing the media, or should the internal SSD be sufficient?2.) I might also be working on different computers at work, some with internal hard drives. Are hard drives fast enough to work from? Some drives might only be 5400rpm.Thank you

I add 12 repeater to a shape layer. Position works but rotation doesn’t work. How to fix it?Video is attached as well.     

After update to AE 26.2. i am facing sometimes bug that drag and move keyframes with mouse+shift does not snap even to frames nor other elements. It slide like on ice… pixel after pixel

In previous versions of After Effects I was able to load txt files with javascript variables inside into expressions with the $.evalFile() function. In the current version 26.2.0 (Build 49) this doesn’t work anymore.

I'm having some massive issues with Cineware in After Effects 2025 (25.3.2). Haven't submitted a ticket for Maxon yet because I think it's something wrong on my end, but can't figure it out. Whenever I import even the most basic .c4d scene file into AE (made not only with Cinema 2025.3.2 but with any 2025 Cinema version) I'm unable to open it into a comp with crashing. If I drag the .c4d file to the button to create a new comp, it'll simply crash with this following last log message: <######> <BEE_MiscTasks> <5> Set Artisan Task: Classic 3DIf instead I try right-clicking the .c4d file and select New Comp from Selection, I get the following error message first: "After Effects error: Error during event PF_Cmd_EVENT Code (PF_Err_INTERNAL_STRUCT_DAMAGED) : GlobalData image was nullptr during DrawEvent(512) ( 25 :: 101 )"I've reset preferences, uninstalled, reinstalled etc etc. And not only that, I'm getting this exact same error across multiple machines:2022 Mac Studio /

I’m trying to create a lower third template with two text ayers the lower text layer follows the other text layer vertically and horizontally. I used the expression from this thread.It works but with some extended characters  the text layers are no more aligned correctly to the left.Though the last comment in the thread above mentioned it I found no solution to this.Thank you for your help.The T in the layer below shifts the text box to the left

Issue - When trying to open the colorspace options in After Effects 26 Project Settings on a second monitor attached to my MacBook menu I am unable to scroll up or down to select more colorspaces. When I bring the same window on to my MacBook’s monitor, the colorspace options immediately closes when clicked on, selecting whatever colorspace my cursor was over. If I hold down the mouse button I can hold the menu open, but I can not scroll. Steps to reproduce - Open project settings > Color > Colorspace - can not scroll up or down to see other options - the pop out menu of color spaces exceeds the screen. Expected result - A scrollable menu of color spaces to choose from. Actual result -  the pop out menu of color spaces exceeds the screen, or instantly closes after opening unless holding mouse1. Often times, we need to append the latest version to a new render. Maybe its the latest version for today, or reflecting the version from the project.For example, using the [projectName].[fileExtension] template, you get:ProjectName_v001.aep >> ProjectName_v001.movHowever, often we have many comps inside the same AEP which all need to have the version appended to the end. Creating [projectName]_[compName] places the version INSIDE the filename, and not at the end. This results in ProjectName_v001_CompName.mov. The only way to put the version at the end is manually. What would be great, is some way to append the project version to the END of the string. Even an incremental version which reads other files in the output folder and goes up 1 version. For example something like [projectVersion] or [version] or [v###]. Is there some way to approach this that I’m not considering, or some way to create incremental numbers at the end of the string?

Issue   -- Can’t use “Shift + \” as a keyboard shortcut for split comp viewer and lock without breaking the ability to type “|||||||||”  Steps to reproduce: ​​​​​​​Set New locked comp viewer to “SHIFT + \” New Type Layer Attempt to type the characters --- ||||   Expected result - Type layer takes precedent and types out |||||||. Actual result - Comp viewer splits many times.  Adobe After Effects version - 26.0.0 Operating system -MacOS 26.3.1 Video format - n/aWorkaround -- switch to default keyboard map so you can type properly or copy paste from another app…  

Issue - Cine4d Lite - Will Not Close with “Edit Close, or Clicking “Red X”. Only creates new project. Steps to reproduce - Open Cin4d Lite, create project, save, try to close Cin4d with “X” or Menu>Close. (It does close when right clicking on Icon in doc (Max OS)  Expected result - App Should Close? Actual result -  New Project Copy is Created   Adobe After Effects version - CC 26, Operating system - Osx Tahoe 26.3.1 Comparative information helps us understand more about when the issue occurs:  Only tested on One project Does it affect new projects?  When did the problem begin? First Try.
