I have recorded 12 & 45 minute voice overs files for a documentary. I also recorded a test today. It was fine for a few minutes, then I got the same error message I have attached. It appears the waveform is there, but there is no sound. I pulled the file up in another DAW, WAV or MP3, and the audio is gone. In another DAW thee waveform has vanished. The wave in flat. It played back just fine last night when I saved and closed out.
Hi everyone,I'm experiencing a frustrating issue in Adobe Audition when listening back to my recorded audio file. After exporting to file to see if that fixes, I noticed that the exported files have no sound, even though the file size suggests there's audio data present ( see screen shot)Here’s what I’ve tried so far:✅ Checked Master (mix) Channel & Track Outputs – No change✅ Verified Export Settings – Everything seems fine (format, sample rate, bit depth).✅ Tried Different Formats – WAV, MP3, FLAC—same muted result.✅ Restarted Audition & Reimported – No change.✅ Checked Audio Hardware Settings – My system plays other audio files normally.✅ Bypassed Effects & Plugins – No accidental gating or muting applied.✅ Reset Preferences – No luck after resetting Audition. At this point, I’m stuck! Has anyone encountered this issue before, or does anyone have additional suggestions?I'm now cocnerned that the file has corrupted somehow.&nbs
Over the last few months, when I’m playing through a track, the playback head visually progresses from smooth scrolling to more and more choppy. It’s starts out fine, then after 3-4 screens-worth of scrolling on the timeline, in my case maybe 20 sec, it slowly gets more and more choppy or laggy. It’ll look like it’s slightly starting to lag, and progress to the point it looks like it’s jumping 0.5-1 sec increments. If I switch from multitrack to waveform view then back. It’ll reset to a smooth scroll, then start the process over again. The same issue occurs in the waveform view. If I have several tracks in a project, it will immediately start with a choppy scroll, even if all tracks are pre-rendered. I run Windows 11, have 32GB RAM, and a 14th gen i7 processor 2.8gHz. Audition doesn’t seem to being using an inordinate amount of CPU or memory. Not sure if there was a windows update that doesn’t jive with the newer versions of Audition? I used to run v.2022, issues started after
On regularly base some (Waves) VST (3) Plug In’s don’t open in Edit (Waveform) or Multitrack mode. When opening Audition fresh start, plug in’s can be used and ALL work perfect. Plugin settings popup window shows up and can be adjusted. After a while working and editing some of them stop working and can’t be opened anymore. For example: After a while working, when ‘Metaflanger’ is selected in waveform-mode via menu ‘Effects/VST 3/Modulation/Waves/Metaflanger Stereo’ or in Multitrack mode in the Effects Rack, nothing happens, the plugin does not run anymore. The plugin’s are installed properly because they initially work (when Audition is started fresh), but some of them (for example ‘MetaFlanger Stereo’, ‘Metafilter Mono’, ‘Metafilter Stereo’, ‘Metafilter Mono’, ‘OVox Stereo’, ‘OVox Stereo/Mono’) stop working/are no longer usable when using Audition for a longer time. The plugin settings popup window doesn’t appear anymore.Other Wave Plugin’s have no problem and still are usable (For examp
I just started using Adobe Audition after years of Audacity and FL. It's got some powerful features I like but there is a design choice that I just can not wrap my head around and I think it's gonna make me quit this program if I don't find a solution: Why can't I undo edits made in the effects applied to clips or tracks? For example, when I tinker with the EQ or FFT and I end up not liking the edits - there's no way to undo them, Audition does not register those steps as undoable and it starts undoing other stuff while leaving the changes I made as they are. So I have to manually recreate the effect parameters as they were before the changes. I find this program behavior is stifling my creativity and my naturally experimental approach to editing audio, as I have to very carefully plan around the fact that whatever I do can't be undone. Yes I can duplicate the effect and turn it off while I experiment on the copy, but it's all very cumbersome and doesn't allow for insta
This is not reporting an issue in Audition (I don't think), this seems to be an issue with two VST3 plugins:TBTECH - Kirchhoff-EQFiedler Audio - SplatThese are the only two plugins I've found that have this issue. If either effect are opened such that they are first drawn to an extended desktop monitor, it crashes Audition, everytime. So, anytime I need to open either of them, I must first unplug my external monitor to ensure they are drawn to the primary display. I can then plugin external monitor and then I can move either plugin onto that extended desktop without issue. I'm posting this, not because I'm trying to find a solution but to provide this workaround for others who run into this issue.
Adding a marker to audition is super easy - just click m and there it is, yay. However, they don’t stay where you put them. So, they are useless.I’ve added markers to a track (single waveform, not multitrack view), saved the file and come back to it later. Sometimes the markers are just not where I put them. Other times they move if I do an edit. Any kind of inserting a recording will move all the markers (or rather, keep the marker where it was while shifting the rest of the waveform along with the new insterted recording). Sometimes pasting audio into the track will mess things up. Other times it just seems to happen anyway.Any ideas how to make markers an actual functioning feature rather than a waste of time?(I’ve shared this in a group with audio narrators and many of them report the same issue, some suggesting editing from the end of the track backwards as this might be a workaround. I’d prefer to have it just work properly if possible. Tech support suggested it was due
I’m having issues with Audition. I was able to use it for 10 minutes today, but then it froze. When I tried to restart it, it will still be frozen. I can’t even send any bug or error reports. I tried using previous versions of Audition and they too weren’t working. I spent like 1 or 2 hours trying to get this software to work. I tried updating all the versions of Audition and they still freeze. I posted a video here of what I’m experiencing so you get an idea.
new issue with Audition. If i highlight the whole waveform and delete it, the content is cleared and the scroll bar along the top is emptied, but the main editor window still hase the waveform image in view. If I hit record this screen then clears and the recording continues, so the content has been deleted, but for some reason this ghost of the waveform remains in the viewing window until I hit record again. This was never an issue before latest update.
Audition 26.0.0.56 does not work properly with Huion Keydial Mini on Mac OS 15 – buttons execute different functions than assigned (it works fine on Audition 2025 though)
v.26 hangs on opening until force quit.
This is actually not a bug report, but rather a feature request. For some reason it won’t let me put in a feature request. Here is the feature request that I’m asking for:It’s very common for me to work with multiple tracks that contain similar audio clips, often created through copy-and-paste. Sometimes this results in unintended duplicate clips stacked directly on top of each other.Because these overlapping clips aren’t always obvious visually, I’ve occasionally played back audio without realizing that multiple clips were sounding at once. This can lead to messy or confusing playback and makes troubleshooting more difficult.I propose a feature that either prevents audio clips from being placed directly on top of one another or provides a clear visual warning (such as an icon, highlight, or alert) when overlapping clips occupy the same time range on the same track.
Screenshot 2026-01-08 160736.pngI have large MP3 files that I am gradually ‘splitting’ into individual files. To do this, I use right-click > Save selection as. When saving directly to the network drive, the save fails in about one out of three cases with the following message: ‘An error occurred while saving the file to the hard drive. The destination directory may be full or no longer available.’This is extremely annoying and has been happening repeatedly for many months. What is the cause and how can it be prevented?
This has been going on for awhile through different versions and had hoped it would just get fixed, but apparently not. In Hiss Reduction clicking Capture Noise Floor no longer works for Channel 1, only Channel 2, making it half useless. GodzFire_0-1766102710523.pngGodzFire_1-1766102718694.png
I have the Wide Orbit plugin to save from Adobe Audition directly into our automation system. Every time I save a pop up comes up BEHIND the Adobe Audition Screen instead of in front. Is there a way to change this so that it pops up in front so it's not hidden?
Steps to reproduce:Open an audio fileChoose Edit -> Convert Sample Type from menu barSet the 'Bit depth' control to 4 bitsHit OK Expected resultAudio samples are quantized to 16 levels Actual resultAudio samples are quantized to 256 levels (8-bit) You'll notice that the Y axis of the waveform changes to 'samp' with values up to 256. If you correspond the samples of the quantized waveform to the axis gradations, you'll see they correspond to these 256 values, not 16 values.
SiriusXM gave us new Windows 11 laptops. During setup, I loaded the latest edition of Adobe Audition from Creative Cloud. I immediately ran into problems loading up sessions, with warning about files that could not be imported. After doing some research, I decided to uninstall version 25.0 and install an older version (24.6.7 Long Term Supported). That got me back in the game, but now I anticipate having issues sharing my sessions with others in the SXM community with new laptops, running the new Version 25.0. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Also, I'd be interested in knowing if there was something I could have done while in Version 25.0 that could have helped.
I am trying to make perfect ogg file loops for games using Adobe Audition, and for the longest time, this was never an issue with the app as it would create perfect loops each time for Unity. However, the latest version gives the ogg a very brief 'pause' at the end of the loop. When I bring the loop to a different program, such as Reaper, I can see that Adobe Audition's export has left a teensy tiny bit of silence in every ogg file I export, and now in order to do my loop exports, I have to do my sound work in Adobe Audition, bring it to Reaper and then export it as a proper loop. It's an additional step, with an additional app. This used to work in previous versions of Adobe Audition. Is there any way to fix this? I'm currently using, 25.6.0.97 on Windows 11
Hello, I’ve run into a strange issue with Adobe Audition. After watching the Help → Learn Audition video, one of my screens suddenly turns completely black. The black screen only appears when Audition is running – if I quit the application it disappears, but as soon as I relaunch Audition, the black screen comes back. System details: • macOS 15.7.2• MacBook Pro (M1 Max chip)• Adobe Audition (latest Creative Cloud release) I haven’t tried any fixes yet, so I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced the same behaviour or knows how to resolve it. Thanks in advance.
I'm having the same problem, but on my imac. Just updated to mac OS Sequoia 15.7.2 last week. I've tried everything to resolve the issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Audition, reset Audition's preferences, installed the previous version of Audition, reached out to 3 different support tech people at Adobe--nothing's helped. For me, it crashes when I select an Effect in the Effects Rack. But only once... then it lets me do it about 6 more times before it crashes again. So weird! I hope Adobe fixes this issue asap. It's unbelievably frustrating, as I use it all day for my work.
I am running 11 on a new computer, when I installed the newest version of Adobe Audition the program crashes nearly daily and on days when I'm busy using it it crashes repeatetdly. For example in the past 2 hours I have had to close the program and restart it 5 times. This is unacceptable and VERY dissapointing especially after I just renewed my subscription. I have spoken to a couple other commercial producers and those of us who are uppdated are expierencing the nearly daily crashes. Adobe Audition needs to do better.
When recording from stereo mix, as soon as I hit record I get a background waveform of around 36hz at -20db being recorded. This appears not to affect the recording other than by making the waveform look wrong. On playback it is inaudible. This doesn't occur when I record using Audacity.I've spent hours talking to AI about it and tried many ways to fix it but to no avail. Any thoughts?I'm using an HP OmniBook 5 WIN 11 with Realtek High Definition Audio
I’m using Audition 2025. A few days ago Audition seemed to reset itself (?) and I lost some preferences – I’ve been using the 2025 version for at least the last five months. I’ve tried resizing the healing brush three times with the result being an immediate crash. Just opening a file, hitting the [B] hotkey and resizing it up from 30 to around 50/60 is enough for the program to shut down and an error report prompt to appear.
Unfortunately the VocAlign VST3 plug-in doesn't work properly in Audition. I can only capture the Dub track not the Guide track. Any idea what I could do?
Hello All,I use Audition 25.3.0.71 for my work, where we create marker regions in a wav file, build a concatenated playlist from the marker regions, and play back. It simulates the end result for us, as we use concatenated audio files to build out larger pieces of audio. We typically use Sound Forge for this, but I'd like to start using Audition. Unfortunately, the playlists in Audition never play back seamlessly. It often cuts off the upcoming region by about 150ms. Things I've tried:1. Windows machine (Win11 v25H2) and a Mac (OSX 14.8.1) machine2. Various audio interfaces (USBPre2 and RME Babyface)3. Every buffer size availabe on each interface and various test files from sample rates 12kHz-48kHz)4. Disabling the "Return Playhead to Start Position on Stop" 5. Clearing the cache6. Playlists created in Audition, Sound Forge, and proprietary software we use at work, Sound Forge. The playlist works, it just always cuts off a good portion of the in
