Steps to reproduce:Open an audio fileChoose Edit -> Convert Sample Type from menu barSet the 'Bit depth' control to 4 bitsHit OK Expected resultAudio samples are quantized to 16 levels Actual resultAudio samples are quantized to 256 levels (8-bit) You'll notice that the Y axis of the waveform changes to 'samp' with values up to 256. If you correspond the samples of the quantized waveform to the axis gradations, you'll see they correspond to these 256 values, not 16 values.
I made some edits to an interview, to try and get the background noise out of the clip. I'm making the video in Premiere Pro, and right clicked the audio -> edit clip in adobe audition. Then, in Audition, I did Effects -> Noise Reduction / Restoration -> Noise Reduction (Process). After that, I saved my work in Audition, and quit the program. The edits I made didn't sound great, so I want to revert my audio back to it's original form, taking all of my adobe audition edits out of it. How do I do this? Essentially, I messed up and want to start from square 1.
Hi all! I have Windows 11, Audition 2025, and a Roland Rubix 24. Unfortunately, audio playback is faulty when using the ASIO drivers due to problems. It seems to be the typical issue with the sample rate.I also have an older version of Audition CS4 on the system. With the same hardware settings in both versions, the identical files play back without any problems en CS4. Does Audition 2025 have a bug with ASIO under Windows 11? Is there anything I can do? Meanwhile I deinstalled Audition 2025 and installed it again. Now at least the MME-drivers work again and it seams without problems with the sample rate of the files. But again: How is it posible, that CS4 doesn't have this issues with Asio? Best regards!Hans
I created a .wav file in Audition 2025, converted to AAC there (1) and also (2) in Apple Garage Band, but NOTHING permits a successful import into Apple Music. Involved Apple tech support for 2 hours, resulting in their belief that something in the original Audition file (a codec?) in Adobe is not compatible with an Apple Music import. Would value any solution or ideas towards one. Thanks.
PLEASE make add a SHORTCUT for MOVE PLAYHEAD TO CURSOR!!! Premiere Pro has this shortcut, and it's AMAZING! I HATE having to click along the bar at the top of the multitrack session to move the cursor when using the cut tool or anything but the time selection tool. THANK YOU!!!
DAWs like Samplitude let you place track markers in a multitrack project (CD Track Start/End markers) and then export the entire session in one pass, producing separate files split at each marker. This is extremely useful for exporting multiple songs, cues, or deliverables from one timeline. Audition currently requires manual selection and rendering for each region. Please add support for exporting multiple files based on markers in a single render pass.
i have set up everyting and i still can't get audition to recongize my microphone. Is there a trick to this?
Hi!I am using the latest version of Audition and I am trying to have it record (and playback) sound from my system and a Rockville RockMix 6FX mixer. I have downloaded Blackhole and can hear and record the audio from both, but there is a massive echo. From what I have read I am recording both the sound going out and the sound coming in. I'm hopeful that there is a way to resolve this, as I need to hear all the elements (it's for a podcast and the guest will be connected via the Mac running audition, I need the mixer for multiple elements (microphone, another computer for sound, etc.) and need to be able to hear playback of the recording through the computer so I can hear the person speaking over my computer. The reason I can't run everything from the Mac is that I am also using video and need to capture the screen to get the video of the guests. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks.
SiriusXM gave us new Windows 11 laptops. During setup, I loaded the latest edition of Adobe Audition from Creative Cloud. I immediately ran into problems loading up sessions, with warning about files that could not be imported. After doing some research, I decided to uninstall version 25.0 and install an older version (24.6.7 Long Term Supported). That got me back in the game, but now I anticipate having issues sharing my sessions with others in the SXM community with new laptops, running the new Version 25.0. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Also, I'd be interested in knowing if there was something I could have done while in Version 25.0 that could have helped.
As the title indicates, using ctrl k cuts all the tracks in multitrack view. How can I use a shortcut to cut only one track and not all of them?
I need to use some of the favorites effects to apply to elements currently being edited together in the multitrack views. These elements are not whole tracks, but just parts of a single file split into multiple parts. I only want to apply the effect to one part, aka element.I tried pasting the element to a single track in waveform view, but that does not work either. How do I do this?
I cannot monitor any audio during recording (whether through my bluetooth headphones or mac speakers), I would prefer to hear the audio through Audition (I know Blue Yeti has a headphone jack, but that play back is not very good) while I can hear the audio through the headphones and speakers during playback. Is there any way to hear the microphone during recording or do I have to listen to the awful Blue Yeti playback while I record? This is Mac-related, but if there is any info that could lead to the answer I would be extremely thankful. Rob
I work with an Archive of single speaker talks. Some have recording or transfer errors where the voice slows down and/or speeds up randomly every few seconds. Anyone have experience repairing these kind of files? There is supposed to be a way to do this in Audition, but even the support people can't find it. The manual mentions the Spectral Pitch display, but the prcedure described foesn't exist in the latest version of Auduin. Any ideas?
I am trying to make perfect ogg file loops for games using Adobe Audition, and for the longest time, this was never an issue with the app as it would create perfect loops each time for Unity. However, the latest version gives the ogg a very brief 'pause' at the end of the loop. When I bring the loop to a different program, such as Reaper, I can see that Adobe Audition's export has left a teensy tiny bit of silence in every ogg file I export, and now in order to do my loop exports, I have to do my sound work in Adobe Audition, bring it to Reaper and then export it as a proper loop. It's an additional step, with an additional app. This used to work in previous versions of Adobe Audition. Is there any way to fix this? I'm currently using, 25.6.0.97 on Windows 11
I installed the new version of Audition today, and proceeded to rip nearly 60 tracks (some over one hour in duration) from various compact discs. Listening to one of the files just now, I heard a short (less than one second) dropout toward the end. I have since visually inspected a couple of files, but found no obvious dropouts. Has anyone else had this problem with version 25.6.0.97?
Please allow auto-scroll in the multi track editor to be disabled permanently, so it doesn't turn itself back on every time I play/pause the session.
Hi!I'm having some issues when I apply "Dynamics processing" and the "sidechain" effect and links that to autoduck the music under speak. In the Multitrack view it works as supposed, but when I mixdown the multitrack to a single file, it applied the "Dynamics processing" effect on the entire track, instead of only when the ducking should be applied during speech. It used to work flawlessly, but for some reason after updating to Audition 2020, it doesn't work as it's supposed to anymore. I've tried creating a new track and using that, but the effect is the same. Thank you in advance. Best regards,Patrick
Hello, I’ve run into a strange issue with Adobe Audition. After watching the Help → Learn Audition video, one of my screens suddenly turns completely black. The black screen only appears when Audition is running – if I quit the application it disappears, but as soon as I relaunch Audition, the black screen comes back. System details: • macOS 15.7.2• MacBook Pro (M1 Max chip)• Adobe Audition (latest Creative Cloud release) I haven’t tried any fixes yet, so I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced the same behaviour or knows how to resolve it. Thanks in advance.
When inserting a short clip (seconds not minutes) into a new multitrack session, clip shows up at the END of a very long time line. Any ideas?
I have a recording of someone delivering a speech. There's a moment where he says something funny, but he says the wrong word in the punchline. The viewers will know what he meant, so it'll still work if we can't fix this, but I'm curious: does Adobe have a (likely AI-powered?) tool that can make him say a different word? (I'm posting this same question in the Premiere Pro community, in case that is the better place for this.) I checked, he does not say the word anywhere else in the speech, so I can't pull it from elsewhere and edit it in.
I'm thinking of on DLSR cameras you can bracket exposure, take photos as flat exposure and then +/- 2/3 or 1 or whatever. Is that possible on Adobe Audition? I've searched on the Internet — and maybe I'm not searching for the right thing — but found nothing.
I downloaded the trial version of Adobe Audition. I ended up not using it and I’m not satisfied with it. Now Adobe is trying to charge me 27 euros per month. I can’t find the button to cancel the subscription. It also doesn’t appear in my plans. I do not use the program and I do not have it installed on my computer.
This just started happening yesterday for me and is driving me nuts. I use the 5 clipboards extensively to cut and paste audio while I'm editing but Audition is now randomly but frequently selecting my entire audio clip and copying it to the clipboard. This is then overwriting what I've already saved to the clipboard and instead of pasting the one small audio clip I'm trying to paste, I'm pasting the entire audio file. To workaround it I'm having to quickly copy to my Clipboard and then switch to a second Clipboard before the random Select All/Copy happens. Searching the internet I've found the primary suggestion is to delete the temporary files and/or the preferences and start fresh. System:PCWindows 11Adobe Audition 2025 (but it's happening in 2024 and 2023 as well) Steps I've taken: Backed up (exported) my preference filesDeleted the Temporary directories and restartedReset all Audition preferencesDisabled all of my pluginsCharged my mouse in case it's a blu
I'm having the same problem, but on my imac. Just updated to mac OS Sequoia 15.7.2 last week. I've tried everything to resolve the issue. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Audition, reset Audition's preferences, installed the previous version of Audition, reached out to 3 different support tech people at Adobe--nothing's helped. For me, it crashes when I select an Effect in the Effects Rack. But only once... then it lets me do it about 6 more times before it crashes again. So weird! I hope Adobe fixes this issue asap. It's unbelievably frustrating, as I use it all day for my work.
I am running 11 on a new computer, when I installed the newest version of Adobe Audition the program crashes nearly daily and on days when I'm busy using it it crashes repeatetdly. For example in the past 2 hours I have had to close the program and restart it 5 times. This is unacceptable and VERY dissapointing especially after I just renewed my subscription. I have spoken to a couple other commercial producers and those of us who are uppdated are expierencing the nearly daily crashes. Adobe Audition needs to do better.
