Captivate

I created an advanced action using several Change State of commands see below:  It will tell me the script is saved:  Then when I click close it asks if I would like to save   If I say yes it tells me the file already exists    If I say no and open it back up the script is gone.  I know some of my screenshots have Checkup_button_1a and some have Checkup_button_1b. That is that the problem. I have tried multiple times and I just grabbed some screen shots from one attempt and some from another.  It only seems to be doing this when I add a change of state command. I have used this type of command multiple times with no problem. Thanks, 

Hi community,  Struggling with a multichoice quiz I'm creating using shapes. I can't save my advanced action with both change state and assigning a number to the variable. Any suggestions?   

I've been building eLearning modules in Captivate for the past several months, and they've all made heavy use of slide videos uploaded from my computer. The problem I'm experiencing is that with my most recent unit, all my reviewers who've been doing QA for me have reported that the final three videos in the unit are displaying at ~50% opacity for no apparent reason. I cannot figure out what is causing this display issue. All the videos are displaying at normal, 100% opacity when I view them both in the HTML5 preview in my browser, and after I publish and view the SCORM file. FWIW, occasionally I will view a file in HTML5 preview and the videos will appear transparent, but usually I just refresh the browser window and it goes back to normal. This is the first time I'm hearing of this issue in the SCORM file. Does anyone have a solution?

I am working in Captivate 6 and need to include a numbered list that is too long to fit into a single text box. Unfortunately, the part of the list in the second text box restarts at number 1, and there does not seem to be a way to tell it to start at a higher number. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hallo,ich habe ein Objekt mit 3 Status und eine bedingte erweiterte Aktion dazu, die jeden der 3 Status identifizierbar machen soll, weil nur einer der Status als "richtig" akzeptiert werden soll (mit jedem Klick sollen sich Status und Wert der Variable ändern, bei "Senden" soll die Variable überprüft werden und je nach Wert ein "richtig" oder "falsch" eingeblendet werden). Meine bisherigen Versuche sind leider gescheitert. Der aktuelle Stand: Reiter 1:IF [var] ist gleich [0]THEN Status ändern von [Objekt] zu [Status 1] + zuweisen [var] mit [1] Reiter 2:IF [var] ist gleich [1]THEN Status ändern von [Objekt] zu [Status 2] + zuweisen [var] mit [2] Reiter 3:IF [var] ist gleich [2]THEN Status ändern von [Objekt] zu [Status 3] + zuweisen [var] mit [0] Egal ob ich THEN leer lasse oder "Weiter" eingebe, ändert sich leider der Status und damit auch die Variable nicht. Hat jemand eine Idee, wie ich das Problem löse? Vielen Dank im Voraus!

Hello again,This time I don´t get how I can avoid misformating like this. The font doesn´t match.Potentially easy fix that I just don´t get. The format of the text doesn´t seem to affect the A) B). 

Hey!Since the latest update, Captivate is akting me to replace "missing fonts" after opening a project.The fonts aren't missing, I can see them working fine on the first slide.It always misses Lucida Sans, which I don't use in my projects.No matter which font I choose of even if I cancel, every font in my projects will be replaced by Tahoma.I've tried opening projects with customers corporate fonts and projects which only use Arial, all of them get this message. Unit Pro for example.The only option I have right now, is to let Captivate replace all of my fonts and put them back to what I used before manually.After that it won't ask me to replace, but that can't be the way to go? This takes forever I'm on macOS Mojave 10.14.4.

Hello! I made a custom branching logic scenario for users and I want them to be able to re-take it if they end up with a rare fail (let's please not debate this fact, it makes sense here, trust me!) The issue is, when I have the user jump back to the start, the elements on the slide don't refresh as if it's the first time visiting it - all my buttons are still hidden from the advanced actions the first time after they selected an option, etc. The question is - How can I have all slide elements reset as if it's the user's first time visiting it when they go BACK to a slide they've already viewed?

I have a responsive project that has the learner click on a drawer to open it to explore the contents. I've used smart shapes to outline the drawer. The drawers are aligned in preview but once published they get pushed up by one drawer i.e. when they click on drawer 1 it's opening drawer 2 instead. In th eimage below, drawers 7 & 8 should be down one. The numbers are not in the program just using for reference from a snipit.Appreciate any feedback.  

Bonjour, j'ai ajouté des animations de texte qui apparaissent à des moments différents dans une démonstration. Lorsque terminé, les apprenants ont une question à répondre. S'ils ne donnent pas la bonne réponse, ils retournent à un signet, qui reprend au début de la démonstration. Lors de cette reprise, je veux que les animations de texte réapparaissent. Par contre, MON PROBLÈME est qu'ils apparaissent en double lors du retour au signet. Lors de la 2e lecture (la reprise au signet), ma phrase qui apparait en animation de texte s'ajoute à celle déjà présente. Comment puis-je faire apparaître cette animation de texte lors du retour au signet, mais que l'ancienne apparition ne soit plus là. Merci de me répondre rapidement 🙂 

I'm just setting up some projects for myself as exercises. I have a few Google Slides presentations exported as powerpoint presentations. I have Captivate on a Mac. I have Powerpoint on a windows machine. Do I need to have a running version of Powerpoint on the mac in order to import the presentation to Captivate? Is there an alternate workflow? GSlides exports a PPTX file. Powerpoint could probably resave it as a PPT if that helps, and I gather it's possible to just import the assets from the ppt without actually trying to import the slides. As an exercise, that's totally fine. 

Hi, I wanted to people's opinion on what would be the ideal laptop to use Adobe Cativate. I've been using Captivate for over a year and it always seems to slow down my laptop. I know it's the file or the cache as I am consistenly clearly it out. I had to adjust a lot of the programs on my computer that would run in th background and turn them off while I am in Captivate, such as MS Teams. Today it was particularly slower than normal and was propmted by my laptop that it turn off other programs to adjust the storage. My laptop is faily new, only 2 years old. It's a Lenovo running on i5 Intel Core Processor, 64-bit, 8 GB of Ram, Windows 10 Pro.

Hi thereThis is my first S.O.S here with this Captivate incredible tool for e learning.Well, All QUIZES are allright for now. I can send them  to Moodle and it shows all the scores... Now, I would like to put a, for example (watch video) button, and if the learner clicks, it gives him one point.I include that button to the quiz and Captivate gives me a ID /for example 6782). This button scores in the final result, but this Final results in Moodle doesnt shohs me the ID name. Just the total points. I hope I am explaining ok.How can I export this info ID to moodle, the info I mean. The score (points) are shown in Moodle Results.. but not the ID name.Because I would like to track the entire interactivity of the learner....Thanks thanks thanks  

I added an audio file to my a slide in my adobe captivate project and im having difficulty inserting playback control for the audio. The default playback control the comes with the slide controls the entire slide. I need to to control the audio independent of the slide.Can someone please help me out on this.Thanks

Hello everyone, I am new to the world of captivate and lms. I am currently trying to use the free moodle, but I am having problems inserting the scorms files created in captivate. In fact, so far everyone has given some kind of error. One is in loopin and does not load, the other appears an error "Error reading the base", when I try to insert - these two have video in the file. Finally, I have a course that I can insert correctly, but when it arrives at the quizz page I need to press F5 three times for the true / false choice button to appear. Do I need to change any settings? 

Would it be possible for one of our Captivate Guru's to update the following tutorial with information and images that are relevant to Captivate 2019 (http://kb2.adobe.com/community/publishing/890/cpsid_89018.html)? I feel this may help novice users understand the concept of advanced actions a little better. The information is outdated (since it was last updated on 02/04/2011) and references a "Sample SWF." I apologize in advance if this seems ridiculous, but I am a new Captivate 2019 user and I would like to create six TEB's with one submit button for the slide shown below.  I am using Adobe Captivate 2019 version: 11.5.4.613 Thank you in advance for your time and consideration regarding my request. (P.S. The "No" Symbols are located directly underneath the green "Yes" symbols)  

Adobe captivate is an authoring tool, I'm very sure some of us here are programmers, kindly rate adobe captivate's HTML with the previous systems we used, remember we still used Adobe Flash to play those simulations through the browser. I just hope this software is embedded with Adobe Flash.

I have a slide with audio narration, three "View PDF" buttons that link to a new browser tab for each button, and a "Continue" button set to appear at the end of the narration that has the advance to next slide action set to it. The Slide itself has the Pause action set to it On Exit because I want the user to hear the naration, view and read the external PDFs in the new browser tabs, then return to the captivate tab and advance to the next slide. However, when the user views the external PDFs and returns to the Captivate project that slide advances automatically. I noticed that the buttons had the "Continue Playing the Project" box selected in the properties panel, so I deselected that for all three. I was able to preview the project and succesfully view all three external PDFs without the slide automatically advancing when I returned to it. However, after clicking the fist "View PDF" button, although the narration was still playing, the slide itself became paused and thus meant that

When I publish a project that I have created with some downloaded text fonts, how can I make the people who receive this published captivate see this font? When I publish the project with a source other than the default, the students see it as times new roman ... Thank you.

Hi, I'm trying to publish a project I made in Captivate. I'd like to be able to send the link to others via email or save in on our Shared Drive for others to view- is this possible? I have tried many times to publish to computer and chose HTML5. It saves it in all these different folders and then is not viewable. When I view YouTube videos and the documentation that Adobe has, it says to publish to devices and then choose HTML. I have Captivate 2019, however my publish to device options looks different than the tutorials. It asks for a username and password. I've tried my credentials and it does not work. Please help! I've been tasked with learning this software on my own and my IT department does not support Captivate. Thank you. 

Hey, a weird thing I've encountered 2 or 3 times in the past couple of years, and just versioned back to work around. But I think it's worth asking if anybody has seen this or if there is something I am doing that is causing this. So it's content that is viewable within the state view, and works fine in general. But every so often, only some of the content is subsequently editable....so stuff appears on the stage, fine, but if I go to state view for the object, I see only part of the content on stage, but can see all of it in the state view. Example below to illustrate. So the 3 boxes appear on stage at  the right time, but I can't edit two of the three. Any help would be appreciated or I'll just need to roll back or recreate the object again. 

Hi, I am using Captivate to send videos inside the slides. The problem is that the videos are very heavy and although I host them on the server, the students cannot play it well.One of the reasons why I use this method to send the videos to my students is so as not to give them the option to download it, but I have noticed that when I click the button to enlarge the video, I get the option to download.Is there an option to host videos in captivate without getting the option to download the video ?. And, is there any recommendation for the videos to be viewed faster by the students?

When I upload a video and I want to change the look of the playbar, it ignores me. It only works if I choose none, but if I choose any other aspect, the same generic bar is shown when publishing.

I am currently working in Adobe Captivate version 8.0.2.266 on an HPZ220 with 16 gig ram.I have recently encountered an issue where a couple of my slides are playing two sets of audio files when the project has been published. I only have one audio narration file loaded on the timeline. It seems that the affected slides are pulling audio in from the previous slide or that the previous slide is replicating its audio on the next slide.When previewing the project in captivate everything works as it should. The problem occurs when I publish the project. I am publishing the slides as SWF as our facility does not currently support html5 as an option.I have tried a number of things to solve this problem based on some similar situations posted in the forums. On the publishing side I have tried publishing in both Flash 10, 10.2 and 11.I have closed the project, cleared document cache from captivate, reopened the project and republished. This did not help.I have deleted and recreated the slides
