I spend a lot of time and effort adding tags with article view, and then after I export it as an interactive pdf, I open it in acrobat and the article tags are all out of order. Then I have to spend even more time and effort reordering them in acrobat because its all wrong. why does this happen

How do I get rid of the shifting gray tones (blinking effect) in the Application Panel background gray when in focus?

Quand pensez-vous être à même de nous rendre notre historique et les ctrl Z et notre sécurité de travail sur votre logiciel ?

Seriously, does every single update have to break something?For years, a simple Option + double-click on a photo would open it directly in Photoshop. It was fast, efficient, and worked exactly as expected. Now, after yet another update, that functionality is gone. Why?What's even more frustrating is that the suggested workaround doesn't work either. Going to "Links" and selecting "Edit Original" does absolutely nothing on my system.At this point, every update feels like a gamble. Instead of looking forward to new features, I'm left wondering which existing workflow Adobe has decided to break this time and how much time I'll have to spend finding a workaround. That's not a great experience for people who rely on these tools professionally every day.We're paying customers. Basic functionality and established workflows shouldn't be getting disrupted with every major update. Can someone from Adobe please acknowledge this issue and provide either a fix or a clear explanation of what's going

Hi everyone.Every time I need to create an index manually, I rename the “Contents Style” to “Index Style,” save the original ID file (e.g., A.indd) as B.indd, then open the A.indd file and load B.indd in “Contents Styles” panel.This gives me two identical contents Styles.It’s a bit of a hassle.Is there a way to directly copy an identical Table of Contents Style?

Hello, My InDesign somehow just decided to change the unit for documents from inches to points. I don't really points so I want to put it back to inches but haven't trouble. I think the way to change the units for new documents was to go to Preferences - Units and Increments and change the H and V units there. My Preference for units is already set as inches. And my rulers are shown in inches, too. But, when I open a New Document, it still shows me all units in "p". After having this issue, I updated the InDesign CC yesterday, too, but still having the trouble. Can anyone help please? Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a cloud based DAM for a 4 person art department. Looking for something that is reasonably priced for the features that it offers. Not looking for the cheapest option but something that will grow with us.

Prerequisite: Maintain the spacing between the text content and the text box (keeping the same bottom margin as before the adjustment).For example, in the text below, the normal, appropriate line spacing is 16.However, due to layout adjustments, I sometimes need to adjust the line spacing—either pushing it down by 1–2 lines or pulling it up by 1–2 lines.I want to run the script once to increase the line spacing by 1 line, and then run it again to increase it by another 1 line.Another script does the opposite:Run it once to decrease the line spacing by 1 line, and then run it again to decrease it by another 1 line.

I recently scanned a multi-page document to creat a PDF. I then performed OCR to recognise the text.I then selected all of the text using Ctrl +A , and copied itI then pasted it into a new InDesign documentI then used autoflow to turn it into multiple pagesThe problem:The text box on each page has gained a border, though I can’t see how it has been created: there is no stroke; and just to be sure, I set its weight to 0 point. I am therefore unable to remove it. I should add that any additional pages and text boxes I have added do not have these borders.Any help gratefully appreciated on how to remove this.

I've recently uploaded a GREP list/cheat sheet/reference card to a couple of topics. It's one I created a few years ago and have been updating for my own uses, since I can't seem to find one that meets all my wishes — complete, accurate, organized, reasonably tidy-looking and without the points of murky example or understanding that so many of the references out there seem to have. (Okay, I'm fussy.)   After my upload yesterday I noticed an error, and some omissions, and one thing led to another, and so — very polished version of what I think a GREP reference should be is attached. Hello fellow InDesigners 🙂I want to view my colors in RGB mode. As you can see in the screenshot. The 2 colors are bright and in RGB but the square in my workspace is viewed in cmyk mode, it's not that bright. Anybody knows how to watch the colors in my workspace in rgb?Thank you for your time 🙂 

Recently i was working on project. Saved with no errors. Now I cannot open that file, however I can open other files with no problem. Why my file is not OK anymore?

My Workflow view is changing of its own according, many times a minute, by itself and it is causing my job to become unworkable.First it was just swapping between Essentials and Touch - I naturally assumed my touchscreen was the issue so disabled it. But now it swapps back and forth between Essentials and Digital Publishing as I am working and I can’t make it stop. I can’t lock the Workflow. My screen is jumping back and forth and I am very frustrated. Can someone tell me what on earth is going on? Please help it’s driving me insane.

I have created a set of parent pages that have section headings on them and as you go through the document, when you change sections the new section gets highlighted in some way.I started with one parent page, with all the sections to be used, we’ll call that A-Parent. I then created a new Parent, named it B-Introduction and had it “Based on A-Parent.” I did an override on the word Introduction and styled it how I wanted and I was done. Then I created another new Parent, named it C-Product and had it based on A-Parent. Again, I did an override on the word Product and styled it how I wanted. I continued this process for each section that needed a highlight. As I went through the document, I applied the appropriate Parent page.I exported the PDF, and when I was reviewing it, I found that when I got to the first page of the section with the D-People parent page applied to it, it was holding onto the treatment from the previous parent page section, C-People.This is a screenshot of the A-Pa

InDesign continues to freeze, even though the PC fully meets all system requirements and there are no signs of performance limitations. The processor, RAM, and disk all have sufficient available capacity during use, which rules out a lack of computing power as the cause. To eliminate potential installation issues, InDesign has already been completely uninstalled and reinstalled. Despite this, the problem persists, indicating that the root cause likely lies elsewhere.

I keep getting this when I try to open up indesign. I have updated to the most recent edition and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign. Please help I need to submit an assignment tomorrow.

We just updated to the latest version of InDesign CC. Now the cursor does not respond, and the tools are not accessible. We have to restart the computer many times already—12 times a day so far since the update. Closing the app does not work; it goes back to idle ghost mode after 10 minutes. When selecting type and modifying text, the type does not show. We move elements and then cannot move them back. When selecting text, it highlights, but then the app stops working. Placed images disappear, come back after 5 minutes, disappear again, and then the app crashes. We have reinstalled the app twice already, same issues. What a nice update! Kudos to the InDesign team—now you've done it. My projects are delayed. Looking for a solution PRONTO.

I have the latest Indesign version. However I don't have the option Open PDF to convert PDFs into Indd files... How is it possible?

Hi community.I know the object states work when the PDF is viewed in Epub, next object state, previous object state buttons.But is there a method to make an object style for images to recycle back and forth, just to be viewed as a PDF file, if the Epub isnt available? Thank you.

left page is mostly blank, the right has an image and for some reason there is a strip of one page on the other  

PDF Export seems to be more buggy, when the “Edit in Indesign” option is activated. De-activating it made a difference here Win 11 / Indesign 21.? 

After 5 years of paying for InDesign, suddenly my Segoe font is “missing” and instead of 0 errors in preflight panel I get a hundred errors.  Still, I can edit fine and when exporting, the pdf looks like it has the desired font.   

Because the latest distiller settings are tougher and error frequently, InDesign users need a way to easily export documents as print spreads (imposed from reader spreads) from the “print booklet” option. Currently I can either print to my home printer or print to postscript, but not print to pdf.
