Is it possible to round the corners of a table in InDesign?
How can I deactivate an installation I don’t have and can’t get to?
I make a biannual magazine that features academic articles from several different writers. I have spent time each magazine to try and figure out a way to make my footnotes start and end on specific pages and i can't seem to figure out a good system. I can get them to start over each spread, but the articles are different lengths so this only works if the article only spans across 1 spread. Is there a way to better customize the starting and ending pages for footnotes? I usually end up just highlighting the wrong number, making it transparent, typing the right number and formatting it like a footnote. I feel like theres gotta be a better way
When I try to put a text box over a photo the text disappears but the text box shows. How do I get the text to show
I understand that this is a feature, not a bug. However, how do I make InDesign change existing text to match the edits to the style? It must be automatic -- I’m working in a 550 page document. I need to change the spacing above and below. I did a search & replace from the style to the same style, but that didn’t do it. I can tell that the changes haven’t been applied because when I’m in the text, the style name shows up with a + next to it.
I don’t know when this started or what caused it.When I open my document the blue wheel at the top keeps spinning constantly. After I click on the blue wheel another box opens titled Background Tasks and displays Adding Font and a blue line going back and forth to the right of the font name Times New Roman Regular. It does the constantly. What is this and how do I get it to stop.I have attached and image to show what I am talkign about.
This happens to me quite often, where there will be inconsistent spacing in normal lines, but often in the footnotes section. When I highlight the lines, they all have the same settings, and yet the spacing is clearly different. I’ve tried going in manually to just change the line spacing on just the lines that are different and the number on the dial goes down but nothing budges on the actual document.
Constrain proportions for width and height in InDesign 2025 (20.0) is broken. In previous versions of InDesign the constrain-status would stay the way you selected always, now you have to link it every time you scale something, it's quite annoying and adds an extra step to workflow. <Title renamed by MOD>
Hey gang,Help me get this straight, please, as I experiment with newer things:An INDD file is operated within the InDesign application on desktop. OK, I know that.An INDDC file is an InDesign file converted to be stored in the Adobe Cloud. Is that the same as what you put into a Project folder? For sharing? But what about Share for Text Editing? Is there now a 3rd InDesign filetype? What is an INDDL file? Only for collaboration with the awkwardly-named “InCopy on the web (beta)? Are there 2 cloud-based versions of the InDesign document? How does anyone accomplish any version control with this arrangement?
having problems with newer version of indesign with font support. I have lots of math textbook that uses mathtype, i need 18.1 version of indesign
I have all updates for the apps installed. When using indesign--where i constantly use the libraries--it freezes constantly and I have to quit indd & restart it for it to come back. all other parts of the program work fine. it's only the libraries that freezes.
Title: Hebrew text reversed in mixed LTR/RTL headings and TOC — World-Ready Composer activeProduct: Adobe InDesign (Windows)Composer: Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer (active)---I have a book with chapter and poem title headings that contain both English and Hebrew text on the same line, for example: Passing Passing... הָבֶל הָבֶלThe Hebrew word הָבֶל (with diacriticals) appears reversed in two situations:1. In the body heading using the Poem Title paragraph style (Adobe Hebrew font)2. In the auto-generated TOC for both the chapter heading and poem title stylesWhat I have tried:- World-Ready Paragraph Composer is active (set in Preferences > Advanced Type)- Paragraph style Middle East Character Formats: Character Direction set to Default (setting to RTL flips the entire line including English)- Inserting Unicode Right-to-Left Embedding (U+202B) before the Hebrew and Pop Directional Formatting (U+202C) after via Type > Insert Special Character > Unicode Markers- Inserting
Hello everyone~The paragraph styles starting with @m2 are the ones I want to use for generating the “table of contents”.However, the Toc Style window is too small to work with comfortably, and I’m worried about missing something when paragraph styles are changed. If I could move all @m2 paragraph styles to the left side of the TOC Style window at once, it would save me a lot of work. The number 2 in @m2 indicates the second level.
Hello Everyone,We are thrilled to introduce the new Export Content as HTML5 feature in InDesign. Please try it and let us know what you think. We can’t wait to see how you use this powerful new feature in your projects. Quick and easy steps to export content as an HTML5 Package Go to File > Export. Choose HTML5 from the Save as type (Windows) or Format (macOS) dropdown. Your document is now an HTML5 packag
It's been driving me nuts, ADOBE seems to have forgotten about color separation when using the export to PDF method. Even quark has this option.Anyway I was hoping to know if there is a way that I don't know.Cheers
For example, I want to find numbers in the `source` variable.The output is null?What's wrong? var source="@m2Title";//Default regular expressionvar re="(?<=@m)(\\d+)(?!\\d)"//Standard Regular Expressionsvar toReg=new RegExp(re);var result=source.match(toReg);alert(result);
I’m using InDesign to create a magazine. I’d like to remove the background for some of the photos I’ve placed. Usually I would use:Edit > Edit with… > PhotoshopHowever, ‘Photoshop’ isn’t popping up as an option. Instead, Adobe Express Beta is the only usable option. As such, I tried using Adobe Express’s new Beta feature to remove the background. It does a great job-- however, once you hit ‘APPLY’, it seems to automatically save the photo as a .jpg without giving you the option to save it as any other file type (that I can find, anyway). This makes the whole thing a bit pointless, as the background is just white instead of transparent due to the file type. For context, the pages are black. A white box for a background is worse than if I just left the normal background. I might just be unfamiliar with the new feature, but is there any way to save those images as a .png instead of the automatic .jpg? It would be really convenient if not for this hiccup. I can still use Photoshop, i
Windows 11/64 - INDD 2026 up-to-date - Intel Ultimate 9 3.5 - 96 Gig Ram - Nvdia 5080I am trying to finish a historical quarterly and InDesign is inserting spaces between words that I cannot remove. I am trying to get this job to the printer and this is holding me up. Screen shot attached. Any help appreciated. Thanks to those who know more than me. Joe
I have the main photo on a A3 document. Around the side will be detailed photos or text of a particular spot on the main photo. I will have line going from the selected spot on the main photo going to the relevant frame. is there a way of anchoring the line to the spot on the main photo and the frame, whereby when I move the detail frame the line remains ‘attached’ to it? Currently, if I have to move the detail photo, I then have to select the appropriate line and move the end of it. That is a real pain and, hopefully, there is a solution.
I’ve been working on making an ADA Compliant PDF for weeks. Everything is great except for the read order specifically in table headers. Accessibility Tags are in the correct order. The Order is correct. Specifically the table reads: MCLG or, MCL or, Detected in Your, Range, Range, Sample, Contaminants, Low, High, Date, Violation, Typical SourceAccessibility Tags are in the correct orderOrder is CorrectSomehow I get into a phone call with Adobe. Wednesday, May 27Goal is to get Acrobat to read a table header aloud in the correct order. Spent 1 hour 15 minutes with Adobe while they controlled my computer to get a table to Read Aloud correctly. They use Automatically Tag PDF (autotag) on the 8-page document. I follow the directions to autotag the document which deletes all of my indesign alt tags. There are several other accessibility errors after autotagging the document that weren't there prior to the "fix."Adobe suggests: Export the pdf from acrobat as a post script file, then put it
Already posted in user voice, but duplicating here as I rarely see answers in that forum… Wondering if anyone is seeing this?Previously, the Eyedropper allowed formatting to be applied only to selected text. In 21.4, it now applies formatting to the entire text block, regardless of what is highlighted. Even worse, there appears to be no way to apply a style with the eyedropper only to selected text or to text selected after picking a style with the eyedropperThis completely destroys an established workflow relied on for years. What makes this even more frustrating is that after discovering the issue, I rolled back to version 21.3. The behavior remained exactly the same, meaning the update appears to have permanently altered functionality even after reverting to the previous version. This is not a minor annoyance—it's a significant regression that fundamentally changes how text formatting works. A core editing tool has become far less usable, and users are being forced to completely reth
Does anyone have Adobe InDesign version 2022 ?Please help me. I need that version.
I have created an A5 InDesign document. I need to print pages double sided, two A5 pages per side. I had no trouble doing this in Publisher but it seems impossible from InDesign! It is shrinking the A5 page down, increasesing the margin I've double checked the page size and that's all correct. and the printer handles all this fine with Publisher. Has anyone an easy solution? This seems like a pretty simple request to me!
Hi,Getting an issue with indesign and not recognising the calibri system font installed. From what I can see, there’s a new version of calibri with a latest windows update. V6.26 > V6.27. Myself and colleagues are effected, and this is spanning across a lot of our documents. Replacing the font does not fully solve the issue as any forms text fields will not update to the font box. I’ve seen a similar post regarding this with the same issue on times new roman which is marked as resolved but it most certainly not. FYI, installing calibri via adobe fonts does not work, we are getting a conflict likely due to it already being a system font. We also running the latest version of indesign. Any help on this?
I have a top of the line machine. i9-14900k, Radeon 9070XT, 64gb DDR5 RAM, and a fast NVME drive.InDesign lags more than any adobe program, because of the AI Generated Alt Text, which is enabled by default and I cannot disable it, as I have a pro plan.Every time I drag an image onto a file, it lags for a good 5 seconds while the AI generated text does its thing. I want to disable this feature fully. I do not use any AI in InDesign. Please recommend a way to permanently disable this feature, as it nearly doubles my working time on any document, lagging with every adjustment. If I have to edit something in the registry to do so, or block something on a firewall, so be it. Please release me from this torture
