I want to know if the revision option can be updated for adobe indesign, as the option is turning as a boon for all designers who want to revert for the version which they had done before saving the latest edition, which was problematic.

I tried to open my InDesign file and opened partially but I got the prompt "Could not complete your request because of a database error. The file "03_3話_F190701A_HP" is damaged (Error code:6)." From CC Fonts I installed Wingdings 3, not realizing Wingdings 1 was already being used. The Type panel gave an error message about Duplicate font. I uninstalled all Wingdings, but since then I am unable to load any Glyphs from the panel. No matter which Font I select, when I open the Type>Glyph Panel I get a Report Error message and after I send report InDesign shuts down.The only clue I have is in another instance I saved a font to a "Library" which I named. After that, when I opened indd files, versions of that font went missing. Once I deleted those libraries, everything came back.This time, however, I haven't touched the installed font families.

Could someone please advise me on what I’m doing wrong? Every time I add a table of contents and tick the Balance Ranged Lines feature it doesn’t work inside the table. I end up having to force return which isn’t ideal as I copy and paste this into my mailing. This issue is consistent across all six newsletters. Please help.In normal text this works perfectly. 

Hi. Very much an InDesign newbie and I'm standing in a painful medical boot or a maybe stress fracture, so be kind. I've skimmed many posts here, watched relevant YouTube videos, and spent a few hours with Google's AI which appears to know InDesign well.  So pardon me if I repeat others' posts. I signed on for a year of InD in order to selfPub two novels based on my first selfPub that was formatted by pros at Booknook. Despite minor stumbling blocks (I failed to get my indb book's add-chapter plus sign to let me navigate to my indd chapters in Creative Cloud so I had to resave them to my computer where they don't have autosave; and styles looked like too much to learn [I've never used them in Word] so I did a lot manually), I've set up my book Double Time as an indb book with all 43 chapters formatted manually. Hi there I am working on a large size document. Each page has a mxitures of elements, tables, text boxes and images. When I go about moving pages around. The elements on a lot of the pages move completely around and overlap each other. It is a disaster It takes me hours to fix each pages again  I am not sure why this is happening. It is happening a lot.  Would anyone know why?

My CC Library locks up and becomes unusable without fully relaunching InDesign when I close one file and open the next. I have tried clearing the cache, deleting and recreating the library, and even checked the host files. I am also running a fully up to date InDesign on a Mac using Sequoia. Is anyone else having this issue or does anyone have a solution? I work on upwards of 50 InDesign documents a day and it is a real time suck to  have to relaunch the software with each file.  This issue has also slowly gotten worse because it used to only lock up once a day.

Hi, I originally created a cover design in Illustrator and placed that in Indesign for my project. When previewed in Indesign it looks as desired (image 1) when exported to PDF the black of the foreground shape changes and doesn't match the illustration in the background (image 2). I've tried changing the format of the file that I place in Indesign (Ai file, tiff file) and the same thing happens. I'm unsure if its just a crappy print preview on the PDF and it will actually print as desired or if it will print like the PDF displays. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Matt

Dear Indesign Dev Team: You should remove Indesign V21 from Create Suite immediately. It is completly irresponsible, that you publish an app that destroys and eats up my files. Today I've lost the second client file in only a week. There is obviously some real compatibility issue with Indesign V21 and Adobe Fonts. In this latest episode, I can open files in which fonts have been previously converted to paths, but I can no longer open my original files, were Adobe fonts are still present as fonts. I can obviously initially open them without a problem, work on them for some time, but then for some unkonwn reason and out of the blue, Indesign freezes when I load the file and I cannot open the document any longer. I have worked with V21 and my latest document for over three days with no issue. I opened the docuemnts multiple times, saved it multiple times. No problem. Today I tried to open it again, the app then frooze and crashed. Hola, tengo un archivo que recibí ya diseñado (y no tengo contacto con el que lo hizo) donde -en algunas páginas- aparece un ícono como si fuera un globo de diálogo. Lo googleé, lo busqué con el Google lens y nada, no sé de qué se trata. Lo peor es que hace que esa página sea súper súper lenta. En una página pude copiar y pegar el contenido en otra y desapareció, pero son varias en un documento casi 260 páginas. Quisiera saber de qué se trata y cómo eliminarlo, o por lo menos para qué sirve.Se puede cliquear y aparece un recuadro azul alrededor, pero no deja hacer nada ni ver nada ni borrarlo.¿Alguien que sepa cómo sacarlo o para qué sirve? Hello, I am currently going through Peter Kahrel's "ScriptUI for Dummies" book, and there is a piece of code to make a dialog window with user input that I tried out:var myWindow = new Window ("dialog", "Window title"); myWindow.orientation = "row"; myWindow.add ("statictext", undefined, "Prompt:"); var myText = myWindow.add ("edittext"); myWindow.show ();This works, but .orientation is striked through, which as I understand means this feature will not be supported anymore in the future. Hi Abhishek Rao ,   Nice to see this issue has been resolved for the width and height constrain proportions in the top control bar. But for me the issue is still present in the properties panel (which also contains width and height constrain proportions), I use the properties panel often to resize elements   <Title renamed by MOD>

I recently updated my InDesign app (version 21.0.2 x64 on Windows 11) and now when I open a file to edit it the text I'm editing will randomly disappear and the page goes white until I scroll to another page or back out of the document and go back into it. It seems like a buffering problem but I haven't had this issue with other versions. Any ideas on why this might be happening? Below is a screenshot of what I'm getting.

Hello everyone, I have a book almost finished but I'm not getting to fix one issue. More or less in the middle of the document the footnotes are restarting from 1.I already confirmed that the texts are linked (see the figure). How can I set it to the footnotes numbering flow through the entire document?  

Using InDesign tool for importing XML file in vb.net, in this process placing xml contents in box text frames which are created in InDesign libary for diffrent types of box elements, after using InDesign library InDesign is crashing but if InDesign library placement is skipped InDesign completes the process. This issue is happening from yesterday only. What could be the problem in InDesign library .indl? How to fix this? Using InDesign version 20.5.1

I have a saved my workspace and it still keeps showing panels I did not ask for: style pack, tags, data merge, cross reference, buttons and forms. I closed these and created a new workspace again, and again, and again, no luck.What is going on?

After upgrading to InDesign and InCopy 2026 (21.0.2) we experience a weird random bug when updating Assignments (icma) in InDesign for Mac to be opened by InCopy for Windows.Quite random we get the warning "Because this document contains no InCopy stories, Galley View and Story View are not available" resulting in the Assignment file in InCopy is useless.Same Assignment file opens without problems in InCopy for Mac.After a long search I discovered that it wasn't any of the .icml files, nor was it any of the .ai or .svg files that cause the problem.Using Links in InCopy their Full Path were correct.When it comes to images we wont add them to the Links folder, that InCopy can access due to performance, hence they are all missing in the Links menu. That is the way we've been working the InCopy for 12-15 years.Now in the 2026 version of either InDesign or InCopy for Windows there has been introduced a bug that can cause, maybe one, maybe two or three, missing image links to corrupt al

I am currently running InDesign v21.0.2 and I cannot publish any documents online. I have uninstalled and reinstalled.  Tried different files and still no joy.  To top it off, when I save and then come out of InDesign, the software crashes.Any ideas what is going on ?  I need to publish something today.  Is there a working version if I roll-back ? I only have to publish this document every quarter, so it was working three months ago, so I could guss at what version was running then I suppose, but am I the only one having this type of issue ? Thanks

I have envelopes to print in the hundreds. Each one must be addressed individually, so clearly a job for variable data. My problem is that the customer does not have an Excel file to provide me, instead they have hundreds of individual PDFs, and within each PDF is the address that needs to go on the adjoining envelope. Normally I would just do an image merge to plunk that one part of each pdf down in the address field, however a further problem is that the addresses in the PDF are all out of order for US mailing. (Zipcode first, then name, then state, then apartment if there is one, then street address last), so I would need to descramble the lines into a mailable order. Some have a line for apartment or office, some don't, some have an 'in care of' line, some dont. Is there a way to automate all of this? Thanks!

Ich erstelle täglich dutzende Inserate. Auf diesen Inseraten muss die Inserate-Nummer abgedruckt sein.Der Name der Indesign-Datei lautet nicht wie die Inserate-Nummer. Das zu ändern ist leider keine Option.Der Speicherordner der Indesign-Datei lautet aber wie die Inserate-Nummer.Nun war meine Idee, eine Textbox zu erstellen, in der die Textvariable «Übergeordneter Ordner» steht.Das ist aber leider nicht möglich, da es eine solche Variabel nicht gibt. Hat jemand eine Idee? Ich habe ebenfalls schon versucht, ein Script zu erstellen. Dieses müsste aber manuell ausgelöst werden, was ebenfalls keine Option ist.
