I am using Creative Cloud 2025 on Windows 11. I do most of the graphic design, typesetting, and layout for print for my org. Once a book or project is published, I need to send a pdf/a to be archived.Is there an export to pdf setting from InDesign that will allow me to convert to PDF/A in Acrobat without first going into Standards and then using Preflight to finally convert to PDF/A?

Hi, everyone. This is the first time I've run into this. Basically, I have a client that is wanting to switch to a specific blue. When I went into our brand guide InDesign document and entered the new blue (45 /128 / 252), I get the Gamut Warning (fine, I've seen that before) but for some reason the the blue was being converted to this drab CMYK friendly color even though the RGB reflects correctly in the swatch.Here's the kicker though. There is another shape in the document that is reflecting the correct blue from that same swatch. So some of the pages the shape appears washed out (converted), the other pages the blue looks correct. I tried dragging the shape with the 'correct' blue to one of the pages with the converted blue and it converts itself! But they are using the same layout page. So, then, I tried duplicating the page that was reflecting the 'correct' blue and the shapes look fine. Absolutely no clue what is going on.

I own a legitimate perpetual license for Adobe InDesign CS6 (version 8.0, International English for Windows). The software is currently installed and working perfectly on my PC Desktop. Until recently, it was also installed and activated on my Surface Book 2, but due to a technical issue, I had to perform a clean reinstallation of Windows 11 (version 25H2). After reinstalling the OS, I attempted to reinstall InDesign CS6 on the Surface Book, but I received the following error message:"The serial number you entered has been revoked. This product cannot be licensed. Please contact Customer Support." I contacted Adobe Italy support, but they informed me they are unable to assist with legacy product activations.I also tried emailing abuse@adobe.com and support@adobe.com, but received either an automated response or a delivery failure. Bonjour,  Problème avec Indesign, je ne comprend pas je n'arrive pas à ouvrir l'application. Dès que je clique dessus l'application s'ouvre et se ferme immédiatement. Je n'ai pas changer d'ordinateur. 

I'm sure to have already asked this but I cannot find it anywhere, nor on search engines. In a music-related text, I need to show the octave of a note with a subscript digit. So, the middle-C on the piano would be C3 with 3 being subscripted. I am trying this GREP but it's not working:(?<=[A-G])\d This should be positive lookbehind for uppercase letters A to G, then applying the character style to the single digit following it.  Any idea why this may not be working? Thank you!

Auf meinem alten Rechner hatte ich CS5 installiert. Nach Kauf eines neuen Rechner habe ich CS5 erneut installiert. Allerdings hatte ich vergessen vorher auf dem alten Rechner CS5 zu deaktivieren. Dies ist nun geschehen. Nur bekomme ich bei der Aktivierung eine Meldung: wegen Zeitüberschreitung kann die Aktivierung nicht erfolgen. Besteht die Möglichkeit die Serien-Nr wieder freizuschalten?

I have found that if I use try to use the eye dropper feature in the color picker in InDesign that InDesign freezes. It is as if there is a dialog box is open but is not visible on screen. My only option has been to force quit. I have repeated this on multiple documents. I just thought Adobe should know.I'm working in the lastest Mac OS on an Intel 16" MacBook Pro. 

I have a font issue that is only a problem when the file is printed to PDF. I have confirmed the fonts are correct in the InDesign file, however when the file is printed to PDF, the fonts do not display correctly. The font we are having an issue with is Helvetica Neue LT Com. The font issue is within some but not all .ai figures in a document. I have confirmed this is not a result of different PDF viewers. I have checked in multiple PDF viewers and the font appears incorrect in all PDF viewers.  Please let me know if you have any solutions or thoughts on what this issue could be.

Do you have experience with  InDesign freezes in last few weeks? Two steps, and I need to shut down InDesign through    task manager... 

Sometimes when I place an Illustrator artwork into InDesign, it arbitrarily ignores certain elements of the design.The only solution is to duplicate the artboard and hope it picks up that one. This can take 10-15 attempts.This bug slows the workflow down a lot — anyone got a solution?

I have a project with mixed fonts/symbols on the same line, and the distance the line "descends" is based on some font settings, I assume.In this example, you can see the differences in spacing above the Ws:When the word "Wish" is removed, the W of "When" is flush against the top of the text box (solid magenta line). When adding other fonts/symbols onto a line, as you see here, I'd like the W in When to remain at the top of the text box (and, in this case, the W in Wish would ascend above it).The only thing I found so far in googling for that space is "Line Height," but I don't think that's it.Is there a way to adjust this on a Character-Style level in InDesign?I'd rather avoid baseline-shifing my main body text.Any help appreciated! 

I am using the InDesign web version to create pages for the CANVAS course management system.  I have embedded videos, so I cannot convert this to a pdf or use InDesign's print version.  I need the following:1) to have the webpage load true to size as a default (one page, for instance, is 8.5" x 40", and it is loading tiny, so students have to enlarge it).2) to be able to label images for ADA compliance in the web version for a screen reader.3) to have the entire web document within InDesign ADA compliant for a screenreader How do I do this?  This looks like it is being rasterized for the web version of InDesign.  College students may need to use a screen reader, so this needs to be fixed.Please help!  :0) Best,MDR

Ho scaricato la prova gratuita di 7 giorni di Adobe InDesign sul mio portatile e stavo cercando di scaricarla anche sul mio fisso. Tuttavia, quando provo a scaricarla ricevo il messaggio che mi dice che ho già attivato la prova gratuita su un altro dispositivo.Trovo questa situazione frustrante! Considerando che sono già abbonata a Photoshop e al pacchetto fotografia su due dispositivi.Mi sembra poco coerente che la prova gratuita di un singolo prodotto venga limitata in questo modo, nonostante io abbia già accesso ad altri programmi nel mio account.Mi piacerebbe poter scaricare e provare InDesign su entrambi i dispositivi . C’è qualche possibilità di risolvere questo problema o di ottenere un’altra prova gratuita?

Why did my image turn grey all of the sudden?? 

The "Break Text Threads" script that ships with InDesign is no longer working for me at all. After executing it, nothing happens. I tried a brand new document and resetting preferences—no changes. Anyone else having this issue? InDesign 20.5

Just today, on 2 seperate computers, both with the latest version of Indesign installed, have when I edit a file in anyway, gives me a message as follows:"Indesign is unable to save this file. We tried, but it appears to be damaged"The programme thengives me a message as follows when I try to close the file:"Could not complete your request becuase of a database error. The file "Indesign Defaults" is damaged (Error code:1).I have sent all the error reports to Adobe but that doesn't help me get my work done in the meantime.So, I thought I'd uninstalled Indesign and reinstalled it, but I still get the same messages on every indesign file I have, which is nuts!! I have tried with files on the computer's own hard drive, files stored in the cloud, files on a USB stick, and it makes absolutely no difference.I can open files and save them using 'save as' provided I haven't made any changes, but as soon as I make any changes, even to replacing a single letter, I get the above messages!I ha

Hi All, I have an InDesign document that contains multiple languages (English and Hebrew). However, when converting the InDesign file to ePub, the Hebrew content appears in reverse order in the exported ePub file.I’ve attached both the InDesign document and the ePub file for your reference.Could anyone please guide me on how to achieve the correct output in the exported ePub file.

Hi Community,When I apply Justify with Last Line Aligned Left to my text, the content tends to stretch awkwardly toward the spine, creating unnecessary gaps (as shown in SS1). even after hypenation is allowed the letters are not splitting.What I’d like instead is for the text to have a clean left justification, but with a natural white space at the end of each line — more like what’s shown in SS2.How can I achieve this effect while still using Justify with Last Line Aligned Left justification?Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I have a question about text frames in InDesign. It should probably be easily solvable, but for some reason, I can't seem to find the solution. I am working with a template that uses multiple columns and threading text. Now I want to split the columns into separate text frames, so I can change the height of each column individually. Is there an easy way to do this? I added a picture of how it looks now.

Posso esportare file solo in PDF, EPS, Epub, JPG, PNG, XML, HTML, Markup, ma manca la funzione di esportazione in Word o di esportazione in RTF. Qualcuno sa dirmi cosa è successo e come recuperarlo?Grazie!

I have a magazine that I am working on which has several community ads on one page in InDesign. We have to send a proof of each ad to the advertisers. Is there a way to export only a part of one page to become a PDF or is there a way for me to crop the page temporarily before export. How I have been doing it is I have been exporting the whole page into Acrobat and then cropping it there which does not seem to be something that would take that much longer, but it is a tedious process. Dear community,I have Indesign 20.5 and read, that you can open pdf documents in this version now and edit them. Unfortunately every pdf I try to open is greyed out and I can't select the files and I don't know, where the problem is. I tested my own pdf files and they don't work as well. Drag and Drop just inserts the pdf into Indesign as usual. Is there anything in the preferences I need to change?Thank you for your help 🙂

Hi,Recently, I installed InDesign on my computer. The app won't open due to some broken splash screen that cannot be turned off (no buttons are there, it cannot be zoomed in or out to see if there's anything "outside" the screen). The app looks okay for a second or two after launching and then the resolution breaks and the splash screen (or what I assume is a splash screen) appears, you can see it on the screenshot belowI tried re-installing CC, InDesign, going back to a previous version of the app, tried clearing appdata and roaming folders, tried the CC Cleaner Tool, nothing worked. Photoshop and Illustrator work without issues, only InDesign has this problem. Any ideas what to do?
