I'm experiencing an issue when trying to edit pages from a PDF in Photoshop via Acrobat's "Edit Using" functionality. My PDF consists of a color cover and black and white interior pages saved as indexed PNG images.Steps to Reproduce:Open the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat. This PDF contains a colored cover and subsequent pages saved as indexed PNG images (black and white).Navigate to one of the black and white interior pages (saved as an indexed PNG).Right-click on the desired page.Select "Edit Using" and then "Adobe Photoshop [Your Photoshop Version]".Expected Result:Photoshop should launch, and the selected page should open for editing.Actual Result:Photoshop launches, but an error message appears stating: "Could not open '[filename].pdf' because this is not a Photoshop PDF image file."Additional Information:The cover page (which is in color and presumably not an indexed PNG) might open correctly in Photoshop using the same method (though I haven't specifically tested this in this bug rep

When using the Apple Pencil 1 on the iPad (6th Gen), there is a slight delay in Photoshop when compared to drawing in the Apple Notes and OneNote apps. It happens more often when the Pencil is titled. Pressure sensitivity is off for both brush settings.

Observe the result. Actual result: Photoshop becomes unresponsive. Closing 'Select and Mask' tool leads to the image being stuck in one state, you can't open other images and do anything. The only solution is to Quit Photoshop.Desired result: Photoshop doesn't get stuck. Or at least after clicking 'Cancel' in 'Select and Mask' it actually closes this mode and allows further editing.

Photoshop 2025 v26.5 was working absolutely fine, then I made the mistake of updating to the latest patch, version 26.6.0 on my M4 Mac Mini.   After updating to 26.6, the actual document window is solid black - even if I open a photo or previous document...     Even though the Layers and Channels palette preview thumbnails are showing what's in the document...     After digging around in Preferences, I tried turning off the "Use Graphics Processing" option and relaunching Photoshop afterwards, and it's working fine again...     I'm just wondering if this is a bug related to the M4 Mac Mini graphics driver compatibility with the version 26.6.0 release? And, if so, when can we expect a fix from Adobe.    I've discovered the workaround for now, but obviously turning off the Graphics Processing setting will affect perfomance. Sorry about the ridiculous thread title, but I literally don't know how to describe this. I'm attaching an image from PS upon opening. This doesn't happen on every JPG, but it happens only on JPGs, and has started in the past six months or so. I'm using version 20. The pictures are not alike, but they all look the same: there's an overall purple cast to the image, with the horizontal lines on the left side stopping at the center. Under the lines, the image seems inversed, but it's hard to say. As far as I know, the images are RGB, and they look fine in File Explorer. The quick fix is opening it and then saving it in Paint and then everything is fine, but as it's happening more and more, I'm getting tired of doing that. Has anyone seen this? Do I need to reinstall? Update? I generally don't like updating as it seems to always have more bugs and the version I have has been working fine otherwise. I'm stumped by this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Select Details tutorial shows part of the hand of the first woman as if it's one of the second one's hand. Not sure if there's a way to modify what gets detected automatically, but it doesn't seem like a good way to advertise a new resource.

Photoshop 2025 on the Mac definitely seems to have a serious bug. All off the "fixes" posted here and elsewhere to not permanently work. Show Extras get re-checked every time Photoshop is re-opened. Moreover, in Show Extras Options, both Edit Pins and Mesh get re-checked every time Photoshop is re-opened. Is there a fix? I have an M4 Mac Studio running Sequoia 15.4.1. Any help will be appreciated!

Hey folks! I was working with photoshop and illustrator, then I went to lunch and closed both apps. When booting them up again, Photoshop "home screen" is black. I can't open recent files. When I open a saved .psd, the file opens correctly.   Already updated to the 25.5.1 version.

Photoshop has a new tool called ‘Frame’ (K)   In layers, text can be converted into a frame. Unfortunately, in the French version of Photoshop (26.6.0). The ‘convert to frame’ function is translated as ‘convert to image’.   I've been trying for an hour to convert text into a frame and I can't find this function (even though it's well documented on the Adobe site).   This is because Adobe has translated the ‘Convert to frame’ function incorrectly !   HELAS, triple HELAS, Adobe has called it ‘CONVERTIR EN IMAGE’ (see screenshot).1 hour of wasted time, before I realised that the translation had been MISTAKEN. And that ‘Convert to IMAGE’ is actually ‘CONVERT TO FRAME’!   Is it possible to correct this please!It's really annoying!   Thanks in advance!

Why would Photoshop automatically go back to the default font (Myriad Pro 12pt) after I change to a different font and enter my text? I am trying to label a map for a client, and after every single label, I am having to reset the font to what I am actually using instead of the default. In 20+ years, I have never had this happen before.    Here's my typical workflow: select TYPE tool > select desired font, size, color, etc > click on map > enter text > ENTER or ESC to commit > select TYPE tool > click on map to enter more text > repeat until project is finished   Here's what's actually happening now > select TYPE tool > select desired font, size, color, etc > click on map > look at CHARACTER panel to see that font is now Myriad Pro 12pt black > yell at Photoshop > change the font back to what it's supposed to be > enter text > ESC to commit > repeat    Why is it constantly resetting? The normal behaviour in this drop down is for a checkmark to be next to the name of the CURRENTLY ACTIVE file. In the last year, the checkmark now appears next to ALL FILES WITH UNSAVED CHANGES.   Now I cannot use this window the way I had in the past because THE MEANING OF THE CHECKMARK HAS CHANGED. And the new meaning of the checkmark is not useful in my established workflow (I have been using photoshop since I was a high schooler in 1997).   Here is how I would use this feature in the past: – I have 10 files open – I am performing a series of manual actions on each file in an assembly-line fashion (check resolution on first pass, convert to grayscale on second pass, adjust levels on third pass) – I go to "Window" in the menu and choose the first file, perform the first pass action – I go to "Window" in the menu and choose the next file, perform the first pass action – Repeat until I am done; the checkmark acts as bookmark in the list so I know which file to choose next.&nb

Color Panel keeps resizing, I haven't been able to tell what triggers it but I keep it above my Layers panel and the spectrum box will eventually get large enough to half my layers panel.I'm on the latest version running on OSX 10.11.6

I cant drag an image from my open ps file to my open ai file.  I used to be able to drag things no problem.  However, now, when I drop it in ai, it has the green plus sign but nothing happens?  Is this a bug in Ps version 26.3?   {Title updated by moderator}

I can create from “New” and set the size for a white background working start, but “Generate Image” is grayed out on both the contextual bar and the drop downs. I’ve used it before successfully. …The only thing I could find in searching is to make sure that under   File >  Preferences > Plugins > Enable Generator checkbox is ticked.But I checked that and, as you can see in the second image, it is ticked.…I’m not sure what more to do and really wanted to generate some images for a newsletter I’m doing. I'm on a Win 11 PC with a current subscription to Adobe Creative Suite.  

Hello, I am new to Photoshop and experience problems with no opacity stops showing up on the gradient map. only the white & black color stops at the bottom when the gradient editor. (as shown in screenshot). Now please know opacity stops showing up for gradient overlay in fx.   Iv'e looked at other discussions regarding classic gradient than going to legacy but. Im not the best at navigating and it is not showing up in my setup or i just dont know how to get there. please let me know if there is any other way and explain as if I am completely new cause I am. I did try resetting all gradient preferences but that did not help or change a thing. I was following tutorials before and it did appear to be there before but now is not showing up. 

My Photoshop CS5.1 non-Creative Cloud “purchased product” that has been running flawlessly on my 6-year-old Dell Inspiron computer suddenly, and without invitation, turned into an upgraded 30-day trial version.  It has since expired and with every attempt to reload it from my disk, it will not run.  I have even downloaded the program from my Adobe account with the same results.  A pop-up request to enter my serial number is all I get when I try to run it.  My original serial number does not work for the 30-day version; only my CD version.So, here’s the history:  This happened about 6 weeks ago (July 2024) I did all the usual things that tech support suggested but nothing worked.  In the process of using their CC clean up tool, multiple times, I managed to also uninstall Photoshop Premier Elements and now can’t get that to work properly either.  (When the purple editor screen loads it immediately closes then nothing happens).  I have also totally

If you're a nvidia gsync user and experiencing mouse stuttering in Ps (and all Adobe apps), try turning off gsync to see if that resolves the issue. Basically what happens is that any activity in an Adobe app will result in 2-3 seconds of micro-cursor stuttering (looks like frame rate dropping) and the occasional 3-4 seconds of cursor freeze. Disabling gsync fixes the issue. This behavior appears only in Adobe apps and none other.     {Thread title edited by moderator}

Photoshop 24.0.0 Windows 11 Pro 22H2 build 22621.675   After running Windows HDR Calibration which is reccomended in the display settings   It will save a profile and use it, for some peers it helped their displays greatly.   Photoshop is now displaying UI colors incorrectly.        The color white appears green in most cases, amoung other colors.    The actual image displays correctly after the profile is set. But the rest is broken. these are my settings.   If turning off HDR, and rebooting photoshop with the same settings fixes it. But for my own ease of use I keep HDR "on" on my PC for various reasons. Considering this is native functionality with windows at this point, it really needs to be fixed.   

A user could not understand why the blue Export button in the File > Export As... dialog was not mapped to the Enter key which was his choice over using the mouse.   I found out that to get that button to work with the Enter key, the user would have to use the Tab key to get to it. Hi guys,   I am using PS 2023 and I really don't want to update as I don't wany ANY of the AI tools etc. Anyway, when I load up PS my home screen is completely blank. I have tried every fix I can find and nothing is working and it's very very frustrating.    I have renamed the UXP, CEP and Extensions folders in all manner of orders and still nothing.   This is really annoying and seems like a problem I shouldn't have to deal with.    Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
