I make a selection, then I free transform. The transform border is slightly larger than the selection. When I stretch out the transform controls, it creates a gap in the graphic. This proves to be a nuisance when working with layers that have effects applied.How do I make the transform controls be the exact size of the selection?In this example: each color square is a pixel. I've made a selection that encompasses the two right columns. Then I add the free transform controls. When I grab the middle-right transform dot and pull it to the right, a gap appears, due to the controls being larger than my selection.Photoshop CC 19.1.6

The latest version of Photoshop constantly freezes and also uses astronomical amounts of memory (yesterday it was 158GB), even when limits are set in the preferences. I basically can't leave the program open for more than an hour or two without the whole thing freezing up and requiring a force quit. I'm on a Mac Studio with 64GB of RAM running MacOS 15.5. My scratch disk is an SSD drive with a terabyte of space. I have tried resetting preferences, reinstalling the program, restarting my computer, changing the preferences and none of these solve the issue.

I'm currently using Photoshop 2020 (21.2.12) on a Windows 10 Pro Virtual Machine. This is my work computer, so I have no choice regarding the Photoshop version, or hardware configuration. About a week ago, Photoshop started taking around five minutes to open files, regardless of size or type. It happens if I double click on a file to open, as well as when I alt-double click within other programs (such as InDesign) to edit. The only thing that works to open a file immediately is to drag and drop. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop and that didn't solve the problem.  Is there anything that could cause this? Or anything I can do to try to fix it? I've switched to mostly drag/drop to open files, but my job often requires me to edit photos that are saved within a CRM system that I don't have access to the actual folder location and the only way I can access those is to alt-double click. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, new to photoshop. When I started using it, I'd make a gradient and a starting circle would show along with a line and then a small endpoint circle. Using these I could move the mid (radial gradient) and the end point to resize but now they are not showing at all when I create it. I've tried resetting the tool.Unsure if this is a but on 25.12 or I've accidentally clicked something.

Bonjour, Depuis que je suis passée sur Photoshop 2025 avec windows 11 , mes photos sont granuleuses sauf lorsque je zoom à 41%. En taille non zoomée je ne peux pas travailler ma photo car ces grains me gênent terriblement. Chose que je n'avais pas sur mon Windows 7. Quel qu'un connait il la solution à ce problème? Ok, what the heck is this? Screenshot below is of jpg image, shown on same monitor. To the right in bridge, to the left in Photoshop. Which one is correct? I´ve been looking in settings but haven´t found anything that I think would change anything. Please help! Latest versions of all programs, using Imac but Eizo monitor for image work.

I have created a script to extract all texts from a huge photoshop file with several layers and layersets and put it into a csv file.This csv file will be sent to a translator who will return me the translations which with another script (that I also coded) I am going to replace to the original ones.Now I have a problem.SOME text layers are composed of several lines, SOME of which, during the export get broken into two lines.The crazy thing is that some new lines are not broken and some are. Take the shown example (see attachments): the string is written in a single text box /text layer.When I export it with my script I find it split in ONE of the two new lines.Obviously the first "carriage return" is different from the second, resulting different in the exported file.I guess this is due to  hidden characters in the text layer, but the problem is that I cannot show hidden characters. This is something very easy in Indesign , but I can't find a way to do that in Photoshop.The

Hello everyone,I don’t understand how the available space on the scratch disk works in Photoshop.Sometimes, when I try to open a file, I get a scratch disk full error, and I can’t open my file.When I check Photoshop’s settings, I see that the scratch disk has 185 GB of free space, but when I look in the Finder, I have 1.2 TB free.Two questions:How can such a big difference be explained?And why aren’t the 185 GB shown in Photoshop enough to open my small 13 GB file?Does anyone know how this works?Thanks 😉Eric.

I am trying to locate the font 'ITC FRANKLIN GOTHIC' which is listed in my list of fonts in Photoshop 7.0. However, when I go to program files/common files/adobe/fonts - i don't see it listed. I need to use this font in Word. Any suggestions on where I can locate and export it? Many thanks in advance. S

ACR (17.4.1.2280) suddenly stopped opening in PS 2025 26.8.1. I use bridge to open the ACR, in ACR, I click on open and it will go back to bridge. The walk around for me is to right click and choose "open with" , this is set to PS 2025 26.8 as default and it will open in PS. However, after one click, this option's default will revert to "choose". Is there a way to rectify this? I have reset the PS raw preference but it's still the same. I am on windows 11.

I have recently had two proofs made for a book that I have written and illustrated. I would like to print in black and white if possible to keep costs down, however I've been having trouble with the grayscale images losing their contrast and rich blacks. The second proof was done in color, and the sepia images look great. I've put them side by side for comparison (the b&w appears more washed out in person). Is there something I should be doing to the b&w files to avoid the loss of values? I edited them in photoshop, converted to grayscale, increased contrast, saved as PNG's, dropped into my InDesign book file, and then exported for print. Thanks! 

Usando o programa com documento em aberto (16GB) RAM e quando eu fecho, fica na área de trabalho normal mesmo assim ainda consome 16GB de RAM, e só aumenta a cada documento aberto, não diminui nada. tem como resolver?

Photoshop ExtendScript bug using latest and recent versions all platforms:For textItem that uses text on a path, when the content is updated the text position shifts. The easiest way to show the problem is with a simple PSD and a simple JSX to run on it. The PSD has a duplicate layer of the original text on a path. Hello In Photoshop 25.3.1 (2024)When we have a DropdownList element and the user click on it, visually the element change.. but on the backend nothing is changing. when we have a onChange callback connected, this is not triggered.  I did some tests on my end. The DropdownList has a "selection" property, that stores the item that is displayed/drew in the UI.When I change this property by code, then the callback is triggered.// callback setup dropdown_list_instance.onChange = function(){alert("Hello world");}; // triggering the callback dropdown_list_instance.selection = 0; but when we change the dropdownlist from the UI by clicking on any item, then the "selection" property is not changeExample dropdownlist with two elements: "A", "B"1.- showing dropdown selection property ("A") (By default)2.- changing the dropdown to "B" in the UI with a click. 3.- showing dropdown selection property, still getting "A" I hope this helps to solve the bug.Thanks

Photoshop (latest) freezing for users with Chinese input language installed (and English) . Photoshop is semi-responsive, buttons show to be pressed but nothing happens. sometimes switching between languages fixes it.Reinstalling PS doesn't solve it.resetting PS %appdata% doesn't solve it.multiple users having the same issue -- only users with multiple language input/chinese seems to be having this problem.Issue is very random but some users are able to replicate it within 5 minutes .Shortcut to switch input languages is default (whatever it is in Windows). Latest GPU updates (latest RTX 5000)Is this a known issue?
