Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I can't find anyone else with this issue after searching everywhere. On Photoshop for iPad on my iPad Pro, the preset canvas options for Screen, Film, and Video categories are all missing. They used to be there until recently but now all I have is Recent, Social and Print (see image). I've tried an app reset and reinstalling the app to no avail. I'd love to know how to get them back. Thanks in advance.
Hello, does anyone know how to change the font size in the menu and also tools size in Photoshop? I just got a 4K display for Windows PC and everything is very small.
What is the best way to exit the polyganol lasso tool in mid edit? Many times I am using the polyganol lasso tool and something happens I am not happy with and I want to exit what I'm doing and try again, but I can't find a good way to do it. I would think hitting "escape" would allow me to do this. I would think right-clicking would allow me to do this. None of these are working gracefully. I am having to complete the bad edit and hit ctrl-Z (which is not ideal). Can someone please tell me the best way to handle this?
Mac OS.Photoshop 2025 I am working my way through Photoshop tutorials and I am stuck. I have selected a subject, used select and mask and I now want to change the background to black (see attached). When I open the View Mode properties panel, I cannot figure out how to change the background to black instead of transparency. In the View Mode window, nothing is selectable. Any ideas would be helpful. Thanks! J. Ross
How do I convert a selection from having "phantom" areas of transparency selected to solid? In other words, when I select by color, the selection area may contain areas that are not obviously selected. So when I fill the selection with a solid color, suddenly the hard-to-view selection appears colored (but slightly transparent). For example, I have a signature that I have treated with a simple drop shadow. The signature has a slight gradation from black to grey. My goal is a solid signature with no drop shadow. I select a color range starting with black and adjust the fuzziness until just the signature part is selected (according to the selection ants). I create a new layer and fill with red, for example, and now I have both the signature in red and the drop shadow (which wasn't obviously selected) both in red. I get this alot where my selection includes bits that are not obvious and filling the selection fills the extra bits. Or even more common, I have the selection ants ru
My gradient tool is not changing colors when I use the color picker. It worked once and now seems to be stuck on those colors. I saw on this forum that this bug occurred in the previous Photoshop version, also. I removed all my preferences and had the same problem in the default settings. System: Mac, Ventura 13.6App: Photoshop 2024 (25.0)

I am using CC Photoshop 2025 on a Mac, Sequoia os. The file was saved on the desktop. The next day the file was not opened, and it was still on the desktop. The file was not opened that day. The following day it was no longer on the desktop. Tried to locate the file using Photoshop's Open Recent list. It did not appear in the Open Recent list, even though it was the last file opened. Then used File Find but the computer was not able to find the file anywhere on the computer. I also looked for files from the same day to see if the file had a different name, and I opened all .psd files from the previous few days. I retrieved an earlier version of the file from the Time Machine backup. That version was missing several layers of edits. I made the edits again and saved the file to the desktop. Because I was concerned this might happen again, I dragged a copy of it to the external drive, in addition to Time Machine backing up the file.&nbs
So this morning I updated Photoshop to version 26.0.0, which has this new remove tool which can automatically select and then remove unwanted photo elements such as power lines and people. So, I tried it and the selection part doesn't work for me at all.I tried it on several photos including the provided sample, and I get the same result: "wires and cables" removes nothing and adds random black spots on the image. The people remover doesn't select people, instead selecting the entire image except for a narrow line at the bottom. Am I the only omne getting this? doesn't make sense that Adobe would release a tool that broken so I assume it's rare, but I want to know what your experience is.
Hello. I'm working trying to get out a deadline, and bam! The window changed, the normal side panels and tools are gone, and I don't know how to return to the normal workspace. I don't even know how I ended up with that window (some keystroke?) or what to call it. I can't even delete it or open another file! HELP! Below is a screenshot of the alien mystery window. Why does Adobe put these pop-up mysterious functions that I don't need? And while we're at it, how do you get rid of "Extras" that keep respawning after I de-select it? I tried de-selecting all the "extras" in the options window, and I lost keystrokes like Command-H to hide selection and had to research to get it back. Wasting my time. I wish there was a button to press to go back to the basic manual.
Whenever I go to save a file in Photoshop, once the explorer pops up where I can type in the filename to save, Photoshop starts lagging to the point where the file name you type is delayed showing up on screen. It is incredibly annoying. This has been occuring over the past year+. This happens even with simple and small images. It happens no matter if I use Save, Save As, or Save a Copy. Why is this occuring? Windows 10 Pro, 64GB RAM, Intel Core i7-9700F, Nvida Titan X 12GB
I just edited a 8 GB psb file in Photoshop version 24.0.1 that hadn't been touched since last March 2022. The edits were minor changes to text. When I resaved, the new file was 128 GB, a whopping 16-fold increase. Yikes! Neither the old nor the new file were compressed (and when the new file is compressed, it is only 4 GB). I'm using Windows 10 Pro. I get the same kind of behavior with another 3 GB PSB file which had not been edited since last May. It increases to a 6 GB file with a small text edit (a 2-fold increase). Is this massive increase in PSB file size a bug in the latest version of Photoshop? Or has some setting changed in an update that I need to reset? Or other...? Thanks,David
Unfortunately Adobe failed to renew my annual subscription and provide a fix to its billing issues. Therefore please suggest what other photo editing software i might use to replace Adobe Photoshop?
Hello Tony, after the latest update of adobe cloud, it is not possible to install TK, as it says that it is not compatible. I would like to ask for advice. Thank you for your answer
My photoshop always feels slow, especially when there are a lot of layers, maybe it's the memory, maybe it's the video card.It often lags until it blacks out.But the configuration I feel is not that bad. I see other computers that are not as well configured as mine are not lagging that much. Can't find a way to do anything but clean up the files.Any scripts to clean up redundancy would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.
Adobe Photoshop Version: 26.6.0 20250413.m.3042 b0b0848 x64Keeps defaulting to using an ICC Profile of Apple RGB when I try to use Save As.The image was shot in Adobe RGB, opened in Adobe RGB, edited in Adobe RGB or sRGB as it seems to change that property sometimes too..Why would they F' with this, it's not new technology? Sigh...How to fix? TIA
I have been experiencing a strange behaviour with both Photoshop and Lightroom for some time. I have tried manually deleting the Photoshop preferences, reinstalling etc. and this has not helped. I recently bought a new machine and the problem has got worse if anything. Whenever I launch photoshop, the main document window loads to the extreme left edge of my primary monitor (Apple Studio Display) and is largely hidden offscreen. My floating panels mostly appear in the right place on the secondary display where I actually use Photoshop, although this isn't 100% consistent and during use things like dialogue windows don't open consistently. I sometimes can't see one as it has opened behind another window and can't for example, have a youtube tutorial open fullscreen on my main monitor as none of the dialogue boxes appear. My second monitor, which is to the right side of the primary (I.e. nowhere near where photoshop is opening) is An ASUS PA329. I have to drag the document win
Hello! What's the best way to convert a photoshop document from CMYK to RBG? (I am aware of Image-->Mode-->RBG Color)I just want to do this process without causing damage or losing image quality! Here is more info about my documents:I am working with 5 by 7 inch PS docs that have clipart PNGs on them. I have arranged the PNGs and merged them into a single layer. Do I have to flatten my images first? This wouldn't be the end of the world, however, I would like to avoid flattening if possible, so that I can save my merged PNG file with a transparent backround (I was only using the 5 by 7 as a size template). Did my PNG layers become CMYK like my document once I merged them? Thanks!
My sky replacement is greyed out. I only have the image layer open. Why grey?
I created a test image with tiles of increasing luminance side by side with tiles with black and white pixels of linearly increasing white pixel density. The gamma compression factor is changed for each group of tiles. When I view this image in Photoshop, I expected to see a luminance match to the black and white pixel tiles on my monitor when gamma compression was 0..4545 (1/2.2) but the nearest visual match is with gamma = 1.0. When I print the image out however, the visually matching set is with gamma = 2.2. My monitor is calibrated to gamma = 2.2, 6500K white point. I did try recalibrating to gamma = 1.0 and the result was ugly but the visually matching set was still at the same gamma = 1.0.I printed the test image with Photoshop two ways. One with Photoshop managing colours and one with the printer managing the colours. This test image is Adobe RGB 1998 but I got similar results with sRGB test images.I am working on a project that requires two layers of image. Issue: Photoshop version: 26.5OS: macOS Sequoia 15.4.1Steps to reproduce:File->Export->Export As...Format: JPGSet quality to 7move mouse to another field such as Metadata Expected result: the quality should stay where you left it after you move your mouse to another area of the windowActual result: the quality setting changes as you are moving you mouse in another part of the window, leading to inadvertant setting of the quality lower than you intended Note: Unfortunately, this only happens occasionally, but it is rather insidious given the side effect of a quality setting that is lower than you intended.
I've read all the info on this by the community and still after trying everything, I cannot get this fixed: On the top menu bar, the document properties refuse to display any other measurement except pixels! I've set and reset everything in the preference to inches. It's all there. The document itself tells me it's in inches, but the top width and height display always converts to pixels. This seems like a bug. I've just updated to PSD 24.6 and this remains a problem. It's very irritating because the rulers are all in inches, I set everything to inches but no, it has a mind of its own in that top bar display of width and height. Can anyone please help me switch this? In previous versions of PSD this was easy to take care of and inches on the top bar were always displayed. Sorry world, some of us still use inches even though that may seem Neanderthal to the rest of the world. Help? Thanks very much.
Hola! Gracias!
Hi when i make my image smaller it becomes blurry. I am sclaing my image down to 8.5 by 11.3 as you can see it gets blurry after i scale it down.
For context: I was having problems with every single version after Photoshop CC 2019 when using the text tool, specially when I was trying to scale text layers with the free transform tool. It was VERY slow and I couldn't work because of how laggy it was, so I was stuck with the 2019 version for years - which lead me to a a lot of trouble because my work colleagues were creating PSD files with the newer versions and I couldn't open them properly because of the lack of retroactive compatibility. So, I tried a LOT of things: deactivating and reactivating using the graphic processor, the OpenCL, the native canvas and so on. Algo tried updating (and downgrading) graphic drivers, reseting and reinstalling Photoshop and even the Windows. But, the solution was actually shockling simple and I felt very dumb when it worked. So, I wish you the best of luck if you are having the same problem and really hope this helps: I simply went to the character window on the Photoshop interfac
