Hello everyone,I’ve been working with Photoshop since my student days. Now, almost 20 years later I still do (in combination with Lightroom) and would like to buy a new workstation, optimized for these 2 apps. I’ve always used Photoshop on an older computer or a laptop and would like to improve my workflow with a more powerful system.I do not want to make this question go on for to long so I’ll get to the point. I would like to buy this exact system and while it is technically a gaming computer, I ‘m sure it is way more powerful than all my other computers I’ve ever used for Photoshop.I would like to configure this system with an 9900X, 64GB RAM and an RTX 5060.Now my question(s): Are these specs wrong or not ideal for Photoshop / Lightroom? Are they maybe too powerful and am I wasting money on specs I won’t ever use? Should I be worried about having a watercooler? Will it leak ever? Thanks everyone for taking the time to read through my questions.
Happens to me, when I use text tool. Click once to start writing text and it freezes, when it responds again it has multiple layers of ‘Lorem Ipsum’ text added
I receive monthly emails with new features and links. the links don’t work and an Adobe chat says that it’s phishing. Are there genuine monthly emails?
Can anyone help, please? Photoshop has changed the behaviour of the text box, I used to be able to change size seamlessly with good old Command + T. Now, I cannot find a way to make the new, annoying ways to work. If I manage to select the text box and see the handles, only happening while pressing the right button, which is not practical. When I try to reshape, resize, the text size does with it. Etc… I don’t have much time and I’ve already spent two hours on AI platforms to try to figure it out. Thanks!!!
When I try to open a JPEG file on my hard drive, even one I’ve opened before, it won’t open it. I also cannot save in JPEG format now, either. It gives me an error message ‘Could not complete your request because of a program error.’ I click on the ‘let’s fix it’, but it sends me to a page of helps that tell me to update the files and restart the program. I did, and it did nothing to help.MIcrosoft Surface with Windows 11. Photoshop is on my desktop.Photoshop current version 27.6.0Steps to reproduce:Open an existing document.Click Save As and try to find a JPEG extension to save it as after editing the photo.Expected result is to scroll down to see a JPEG file extension and save the picture. What actually happens is not finding the right extension and not being able to save it.
Does anyone know what’s going on here? I’ve never seen anything like it in all the years I’ve used PS. I’m guessing that resetting Preferences will fix it, but I’m putting that off in case someone might tell me, ‘Oh yeah. That’s the many worlds quantum cat in a box color picker.’ or some kind of rarely seen PS Easter Egg. I did add the pre-2020 swatches from this YouTube video earlier today, so there’s a good chance that broke something.
When I set an action top open a raw image in one folder, The raw process opens, I click apply AUTO as a general setting, then OPEN the image and set a SAVE AS then close. The action record stops. All fine and dandy, however when I try to run the action, the only thing that happens is that the image opens in Photoshop RAW and that is it, the Set to AUTO does not happen, it just hangs until I cancel. What am I missing?I had this working before but when I ran it, it did what my new recording does, so I deleted it and saved a new one, no luck.
Subject: Difficulty Accessing Adobe Smoke Brushes - Anyone Else Facing This?Hey Adobe community!Hope everyone is having an amazing day! 🌟 I've been exploring brushes on the Adobe site, specifically the smoke brushes available at https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop-brushes/smoke.html.I encountered a bit of a hiccup when trying to download them. Despite being a licensed user with the Adobe Photography Plan and Adobe Express monthly, every attempt led me to a plan package page. I've reached out to the Adobe staff, and they mentioned looking into it, promising to get back to me later.I'm curious – has anyone else experienced difficulties accessing these smoke brushes? If so, I'd love to hear your thoughts and any solutions you might have come across.Let's help each other out! 😊Cheers, Josh
I am experiencing an issue with EXIF metadata preservation in Photoshop. My workflow is: Open a JPEG file that contains complete EXIF metadata. Edit the image in Photoshop. Export the image as a JPEG. After exporting, all EXIF metadata is completely removed. Camera model, lens information, capture date, exposure settings, and all other EXIF fields are missing from the exported file.I would like to know: Is this behavior normal? Which save or export method preserves all original EXIF metadata? Is "Export As" designed to remove EXIF metadata? Is there a Photoshop setting that ensures all EXIF metadata is preserved when exporting JPEG files? Thank you for your assistance.
I was just doing the steps from this video: But unlike on the video, for me it is VERY slow to process this.I am running a very capable 19400K with 64GB of fast DDR5 RAM and an RTX 5080Anyone else experiencing slow performance?
I’ve already looked in the Creative Cloud app and on the Adobe website, but Photoshop Beta never appears as available to install. What’s the solution?
Hello,I’d like to “fix the perspective” of an image as follows:From the top trapezoid to the bottom rectangle. The key is for the width of the parallels to be maintained between the two perspectives. In other words, I’d like to adjust the vertical lines only. Not the horizontal ones. Thank you!
After creating a curve layer, I can set points onto the curve. But the points can not be moved. After restarting photoshop, the points on the curve can be moved and set to the desired values. Adding numerical values works neither Photoshop is the most recent version running on MacOS
I'm trying to create evenly spaced copies of a rectangle using Transform Again but instead of creating separate layers, PS keeps adding the copies to the same shape layer. Is this expected behavior in newer Photoshop versions, or am I missing a setting somewhere?Because I learned this from Piximperfect's Tip & Tricks video and in his tutorial, PS create multiple separate layers. Here's the video.
Hi I am Running PS version 27.6 on my mac and the remove tool is not working. My operating system is MAC O.S. 13.7.8Initially I got the message i need to update to OS 14 but my mac is unable to update to that.Steps I have already taken: Uninstalling PS via creative cloud and re-installingChanged in Preferences > remove tool preferences to more stableIs there any way to work around or fix this? Thanks.
I've suddenly had major problems with Photoshop on Mac Studio. The PSD files open extremely slowly and some simply won't open. Messages says “Could not open xxx because it is not a valid Photoshop document. Any ideas of what to do?
Quite expensive for such a program! that crash every day, delaying my work as much assomeones sanity can handle. every day I have to close and open at least about 5 to 10 times each session to reset photshop. Dont accpt keyboard shorcuts, or when tools selects it keep selecting something else, not responding to command on layer.
often times updates are making the app work with less stability, many times when an update strikes it does not introduce something as useful as the core features.the last update changed the actions menu and layers menu.the layers update does not account for duplicated layers numbered, there is no number. the ai label system is not mandatory but the ad implies it should replace this.pair this with the new actions tool, which obtrusely is designed like an ai generated thing. it looks and works less straightforwaly… than the old one. IT GETS CONFUSED WHICH LAYER IT IS ON BECAUSE OF DUPLICATE BACKGROUND LAYERS WITHOUT A NUM#.some of the images on the app are strange like the loading menu has a weird image.there should be a new devmanager team for this app, I want to buy the new one that has better features like more depth to the image.
I accidentally merged all the shapes into a single vector layer in Photoshop. Luckily, they still retained their individual paths, so I could use the path selection tool to select them. However, my job requires me to separate them into individual vector layers, and there are thousands of such shapes, like this:
i'm working in Ps, a painting project, and now my whole project has turned black and white. all of my layers. I'm fairly sure I pressed something accidentally but I don't know what or how to fix it. help??
My workflow for Canvas Size has always been using the up/down arrow keys to resize by one step at a time. However, recent updates to the UI have made it so the numbers nonsensically move 0.01 pixels at a time:Pressing “down” changes the value from 1366 to 1365.99If I go into Preferences > Technology Previews and uncheck “Enable Modern User Interface”, I can restore the classic interface which functions as expected – pressing ‘down’ once moves the value down by one pixel:Pressing “down” changes the value from 1366 to 1365This solves the problem for the time being, but I am concerned that a future update will force the “modern” UI with its attendant issue. Is there a way to force the modern UI to iterate only by whole pixels?---A few addn’l notes:Obviously an image cannot have dimensions a fraction of a pixel. Once “OK” is pressed, it rounds to the nearest whole; i.e., in the first screenshot pressing “OK” at 1365.99 px just results in a width of 1366 px. The “Image Size” UI behaves a
not much more I can add, the question says it all
I opened a .CR2 raw file with the latest version of Photoshop, which subsequently opened the Camera Raw a[[. I did my various edits on the file and finally clicked "Done". To my horror, the file subsequently was NOWHERE to be found! It was gone... I searched everywhere and it's gone for good. This is extremely upsetting as this was a very valuable photo... 😞 I tried reproducing, and could not reproduce it.... I noticed the file missing immediately after I clicked "Done" in Camera Raw. In addition, the other files that accomodate an edit to a raw file were not there as well. Version: Adobe Photoshop 2023OS: Windows 11
Issue summary: Camera Raw Filter inside Photoshop fails with an unrecoverable GPU error after using Select Subject or Adaptive Presets. The subject mask is created successfully, but GPU memory remains pinned and Photoshop disables GPU acceleration several (about 30) seconds later. This error is also induced simply by invoking the presets in Camera Raw and doing nothing else – error after about 30 seconds.Sometimes more editing in the session can take place, but after closing Camera Raw can no longer be invoked (ACR requires graphics processor to edit).Product and version:Photoshop desktop version 27.7.0 Camera Raw version 18.3.1.2580 Lightroom version 15.3Operating system:Windows 11 64-bitHardware:HP Z2 Tower G4 Workstation NVIDIA Quadro P4000 (8 GB VRAM)Steps to reproduce:Open an image in Photoshop. Choose Filter > Camera Raw Filter. Use Select Subject or apply an Adaptive Preset that uses AI masking. Observe GPU memory usage in Windows Task Manager. Wait several (about 30) seconds
