Photoshop

Can anyone help me with proper printing procedure through photoshop? I have an Epson 5370 printer and plan to print on premium lustre 260 paper. I'm getting confused with color settings and profiles in photoshop. Should I set both of those to my paper type? Is the purpose of those settings only so I will be able to preview what the print on that paper will look like or do they have an effect the print output?  I'm going to use the "Epson print layout" automation. As long as I use the correct ICC profile in the color settings section, will that override any color settings I set in photoshop? Lastly, I have been looking for a tutorial on printing from Photoshop but none of them mention the color settings at all.  Thanks 

Hi.My wife does all of our Photoshop processing. She uses the Topaz Labs Photo AI plugin to do some of the editing. She's very pleased with it.However, even though Photo AI works fine on almost all images, there is one that causes a C++ exception when she tries to invoke Photo AI from Photoshop on it. OTOH, editing the image using standalone Photo AI works fine.I've discussed this problem with Topaz Labs and tried all their suggestions. But they weren't able to solve the problem. Their final suggestion was to ask for ideas from Adobe,I've attached partial screen shots of the exception and the image properties. The original file is a 1.3 GB TIF file.Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? Any ideas would be appreciated.We're using Photoshop 2024 (25.5.1), Topaz Photo AI 3.3.1, Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19045), Intel Core i7-6700 @ 3.4 GHz with 16 GB of RAM, Asus motherboard.ThanksBob Zarnke

Just read that you are going to start to phase out the photoshop 3D workspace... please leave generating bump maps and normal maps.

Hi! After double click or just closing the selection while selecting with simple select tool the selection desappearies. I mean instead having dotted line around selected area I have to ctrl Z everytime to have selection. Any tips? THX

I would like the "Save As" dialog to automatically generate a random file name (any combination of letters, numbers, or symbols). Is there a plugin or script that can solve this issue?

I'm trying to use the Select and Mask tool to use the Refine Edge tool. However, when I try to use any of the selection tools in the Select and Mask workspace, nothing appears to be selected. This happens regardless of the View Mode. Attached is a screenshot where I selected part of the image before entering Select and Mask. I'm using Photoshop CC 2020 21.2.0 on macOS Catalina. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

I'm posting this as a new thread because there are simply TOO many threads out there concerning this topic and only a handful of them even have a work-around solution.   That solution being to open the picture in another program (like Paint) and then 'save as' another format - like .jpg .....   It's a work-around...but it doesn't help the majority of us that had a working .psd file with multiple layers that still needed editing.   So, here's the solution that I found that has worked like a charm for me and saved me HOURS of editing time:   Open up Finder or Windows Explorer.  Locate the file and delete the extension entirely.   Whether it's a .jpg, .png, .psd, etc. - whatever the extension is, just delete it.   Then right-click the file and 'open with' Photoshop.     This has worked for me on numerous occasions.   Now, to keep this from happening in the future - always be very careful about HOW you save your work.&nb

This is a real problem. I use Photoshop every day for work. I am unable to change the fonts in PS. It glitching to the top of the list, or if I get it scroll down to the font I want, when I click it simply reverts back to the old font. I have tried changing the preferences to show 0 in the font history. I have tried using both the top drop down and the panel to choose the fonts. This is a big issue for me. Hi all,I've been having trouble with the application frame and I am wondering if I am missing a simple fix to this. For starters I am using the latest 25.5.1 update. It was updated 8 days ago and the problem didn’t show itself til this morning.When I boot up photoshop the typical image /credit graphics show. The normal home screen with updates and recent file history looks like it is about to show but disappears and all I have is a blank application screen.Going to the window drop down list, the application frame is checked but both Options and Tools are unchecked. Unchecking the application frame will minimize the size of the frame and then I will be able to see and interact with my toolbars, layer boxes etc. But the fame itself is inactive and cannot be double clicked on.Going again o the windows drop down obviously the options and tools are checked but application is now unchecked, re-clicking on the frame brings everything back together and usable for me.The problem is that the pro

Many years ago (pre-Creative Cloud) Martin Evening demonstrated using the Patch Tool together with Free Transform.  As I remember it he duplicated a boat, but made the new boat smaller appearing to be further away.  I have forgotten how to do that now.  The trick is to make the selection and move it without it pasting the patch and blending it with the background.   I have Photoshop for Photographers CS6 on my bookshelf, but I am remembering it from a video.  I will try and find it in the book, but it's a very long time since my eyesight was up to looking at books. Thank goodness for audiobooks — I get through several of them in an average week!   Anyone remember that, or knows how it is done?

Hello, everyone!As the title says... what I'm trying to do is copy the same brush and have it two separate folders.  So maybe I've got a brush that's great for painting hair and I've got that in a brush folder labeled "Hair".  But now that same brush would be great for painting grass.  In a perfect world, I could copy that same brush and put it in a folder labeled "Grass".Is there a quick way to do that?  At the moment I have to select the brush, then click the upper right tab and select "New Brush Preset" then copy and paste the name of the brush, then move that new brush into the desired folder.  It's a bit clunky and I was wondering if there's a copy/paste feature somewhere that I'm missing?Thanks in advance!

Hi community. When doing artistic design using brushes to draw, or using layer FX,  importing an image to manipulate it,  is it most commonly 32bit or 16bit that artist will use to set up a canvas? thank you.

When I am creating a layer mask, there continues to be a portion of masks that is not filled the way I want it to be.This happens whether I: Click layer mask button in Layers panel with object selectedCreate layer mask via menu bar with object selected Create a layer mask, select object and fill with black.Additionally, even if I try to paint inside the selection, it bleeds out of the slection.Similar issues with multiple images.

Haven't used my 5d MarkIV for a couple years.  Recently went to convert some RAW CR2 files to DNG, but the converter can't see them/isn't recognizing them.  Not sure what changed, it used to work fine.  I'm using the latest DNG Converter and Windows 10.  Please help!

It would be very useful to be able to save settings from the Filter Gallery. We could have several presets of combinations of filters saved. It has been very frustrating to set up several layers of filters with different settings just to lose all that work by activating an action or using a template. Why not allow us to save a given array of filters, each with its own settings, often applying the same filter three or four times, with different settings? In a word, why not enable "filter gallery presets"? It would be a powerful differentiator for Photoshop and would save us enormously the exasperating task of reconstruct a certain set of layers of filters with fine adjustments.  

I'm going to try once more toget a straight-forward answer to this question: I'm running out of storage space on Creative Cloud. I cannot afford the fee charged to expand my storage. How can I download my files to my computer so I can delete them from Craetive Cloud and free up space? Can I really only download one file at a time? And lastly, I've been paying for my subscription for many years; don't my files belong to me? Thanks for any help or information anyone can provide!

I have been following a tutorial on how to mask complex images and when I get to the point of having pure black and white regions, I make a selection on the white part of the image but then want to invert the two region colors. CTRL I cause the white area to turn black but does not turn the black white so I end up with an all black screen. What am I doing wrong? I did it 2 days ago and it worked perfectly, now it won't.

Hi,I've just upgraded to iOS 15.1 -  ipad pro 4th gen. I've tried deleting and re-installing the PS app. The transform selection no longer is working so I can't scale or rotate a selection.... which is a pretty big function to lose!Please help!

Hi everyone, I need to create a massive 48m x 54m banner to cover a ceiling, designed to look like an underwater scene with fishes, a whale, divers, and other sea creatures. The artwork will be printed in two parts (each 24m x 54m). What’s the best workflow for this? I need to design the full artwork first and then split it for printing. I'm currently working at 1:10 scale with 300 DPI, but it's really slow. Would it be better to start at 1:100 scale, then upscale the final design using Adobe AI for the print files? Any advice or suggestions? Thanks!

Hello everybody, i'm a new muse user and i have a little problem with the picture quality when i turn a PDF into a Photoshop JPG.The original PDF is A4 Format, i open it with photoshop, RGB, 72 dpi, the quality is nice but after i downsize the picture it is blurred and frayed and i don't know what i'm doing wrong.I also tryed it with a pdf converter into JPG it is the same. I loss the sharpness of my images.Anybody an general idea for me how can i get nice, sharp images for my homepages?Thank you very much for your help.Maket
