Photoshop

Hi I'm trying to load some of my actions but a good portion of them have been missing for a good while, and now I've just decided to get into solving this issue. Turns out whenever I try to load them - I still have the action files of course - I get the typical ' unexpected end of file error'. I remember this happened completely randomly back in the end of December. What is that supposed to mean and how am I supposed to fix it and make my actions load again ? I did the correct backup of all my photoshop actions periodically on a regular basis just to avoid situations like this one and suddenly most of them are unusable ? Best regardsKay Frank

Hello PS users,A very basic issue but one that is giving me trouble.I can duplicate the opening layer of a new image (ctrl + J) to keep one version free of edits.  However, my problem is not being able to duplicate the image on the screen such that I have two images on the screen that I can rotate, flip, distort and create interesting permutations.  I have read numerous tutorials but no one has answered the question.  Can anyone help me become a master of duplication, triplication or whatever since I feel very frustrated?   I am using Windows 11, PS 25.6.0 and LRC 14.1.1.Thanks,Photodoc16

I tried to resize an image and change it's aspect simultaneously.  The menu told me to hold the shift key when you want to have different numbers for height  and width.  The problem I'm having is that when holding the shift key down I can't enter numbers but only the symbol above the number.  What am I missing here?

Is it possible to compare two different layers to see if they are in fact the same image?   I'm actually working on a game at the moment. The game map was created by using game sprites created by other people. For example, I found 5 different pictures of trees, and copy pasted them into photoshop multiple times to create a forest. I have 100 trees in my photoshop document, but in reality, they are all made up of only 5 images. I want to save out each of these trees into a format usable by my game engine. I want to save each layer as an image, but avoid saving duplicates. Thus the need to compare layers for equality.   Is it possible to do this within a photoshop script? Thanks for any help you can provide.

I'm on version 26.3 (Mac), and when I double-click a layer and attempt to preview saved custom styles (layer style -> styles), I have to click each one via mouse because the arrow keys don't respond. Also, when I attempt to change the gloss contour under "bevel & emboss," tapping right or left with the arrow keys always skips the adjacent styles (e.g., If there are 7 contour styles and you start at Style 1, clicking the right arrow will select styles 3, 5, and 7 while skipping 2,4, and 6.)  Additionally, I'm not sure if this is specific to my monitor  (Samsung LU28R55) or not, but I typically use Photoshop on my Cintiq and have a duplicate window open on the monitor for previewing. Whenever I wake the computer from idling though, the duplicate image on my Samsung always appears washed, like it changed profiles for some reason. But if I then exit the window and create a new duplicate, the colors appear normal again.  Anyway, nothing major. Just figured I'

Hi hive mind,try as i might, including updating photoshop, sign in and out, and resetting preferences, the generative tool doesnt work. If i select my image, in my case, a car, and select inverse, the generative tool allows me to type in whatever i want, then shows options creating in properties dialogue box with the spinning circle. However, at this point they just disappear like nothing has happened. No result, no layer. Its frustrating the .... out of me! Anyone find a fix for this?Btw, my internet is just fine. Thanks

Leaving this in the hopes someone from the development team sees this. The new crop tool is a huge downgrade, and the software generally runs worse than the 2024 version. I run into more issues than previous models, and many of the ai features seem to be prioritized over the staples that everyday users rely on. Hope that in the future, product development teams can spend more time talking to users, and better support their community.  Throwing this into the ether as it doesn't seem that there is a great spot to post a photoshop review on adobe's product page.

I tried using the command + option + left click to adjust my brush size with the brush tool selected and the correct layer mask I wanted but it keeps bringing up the eye dropper tool and every shortcut option I try from google is not working and I don't have anything open in this desktop other than photoshop so I'm not sure why this is happening. any help is appreciated, thanks. 

Hi guys, this is driving me crazy. I'm trying to enable the shortcut key within the timeline window. Lots of people have said to check that option in the pop out menu... but it's not there! This option is simply not there for me! Also... I want to assign the right arrow key to go to next frame, for example, but if I go to keyboard shortcuts and try to manually input them it says "these key cannot be used" when I try to assign "next frame" to the arrow right key.So, I'm stuck. I am trying to use the dodge tool, but it is stuck on the crosshairs mode and pressing or un-pressing the cap lock key doesn't fix it. I am trying to use the bracket keys to make the tool get into the circle mode and change the size, but nothing happens. It's still stuck in the crosshairs mode. How do I fix this? 

Photoshop version 26.0.1 constantly crashed whenever I use the Remove tool. I can't get ALT + F9 to open actions on a Win 10 machine, Photoshop 25.11.0Any suggestions?

Having an issue where whenever I go to my Brush Presets window, I will click on a saved Clone Stamp preset and it will force itself on to a Brush preset instead.  No matter how many times I click on the Clone Stamp prest, it will revert to the brush.   I have to then choose the Clone preset I wanted, let it go to brush, hit "S" to go back to the Clone Stamp.I've worked this way for years with no issue until today.  Having the issue in the most current version of Photoshop and Photosohp Beta (as of 02/28/25) as well as the previous version of each. Yes, "Include size" and "Include tool" were checked when creating the Clone presets.I have tried resetting both the Brush tool and Clone Stamp.  I have rest Preferences and reinstalled them. I've tried deleting Photoshop and reinstalling it.  To no avail. 

Hello! I'm still fairly new to using photoshop and have been able to package files before, that be it on my school's MacBooks, however, now the package file is greyed out on my windows. I was told I shouldn't have an issue packaging it as long as I make sure it is no longer saved to the cloud which it's not. I've got pictures and fonts in my file, but I only vaguely remember my teacher mentioning something about how we need to do something extra with the text but I can't remember what that was for the life of me. I can't seem to find any other people having this same issue, and the ones that I've found who are having similar problems, I don't understand the answers that have been given. I'd appreciate any help, and if it can be dumbed down even better<3

I'm a heavy user of the shake reduction feature, which was eliminated in the next update past 22.2.0.  Not for actual shake reduction, I have VR in both the lens and the camera, but because it does a decent job of eliminating motion blur.  I shoot in very low light situations with a lot of movement, and in probably 10% of the cases I just can't manage a fast enough shutter to freeze the action.  Shake reduction has been the difference between selling a photo, or not. I'd like to commend Adobe for allowing us to continue using older versions of Photoshop.  I can even right click on a photo in Lightroom and say "edit in 22.2.0" instead of "edit in (latest)".  (26.3 at the time I write this.) And hey, there's probably some really nifty features in 26.3, but rather than incorporate two different versions of Photoshop into my workflow, I'll just keep using 22.2.0, thanks. Your mileage, as always, may vary.    Ron

Was mich aber immer wieder erstaunt: Die Generative Fill-Funktion blockiert schon bei minimal sichtbaren Hautanteilen – ob bei Strandaufnahmen in Badehose, Babybauch-Fotos oder auch bei anderen künstlerischen Gestaltungen.Ich frage mich, was hier genau das Problem sein soll. Welche Inhalte sollen eigentlich verhindert werden? So unproblematische Bildinhalte blockiert die Funktion und schränkt den kreativen Spielraum massiv ein. Falls Adobe diese Filterentscheidungen nicht besser umsetzen kann, stellt sich doch die Frage, ob man überhaupt von einer sinnvollen AI-Lösung sprechen kann.Habt ihr ähnliche Erfahrungen gemacht? Wie geht ihr damit um, und habt ihr vielleicht Tipps, um diesen Einschränkungen zu entgehen? Ich bin sehr gespannt auf eure Meinungen und Anregungen. Beste Grüsse 

Hi there, I've been designing mainly in Illustrator the past two years and have recently had to start working in Photoshop for work and have run into a few things I just genuinely can't figure out the best way to do. One thing that I am trying to accomplish is resizing a smart object to match the exact size of another smart object. I am fairly familiar with the Transform tool and know how to resize smart objects that way, but I can't figure out how to match their exact dimensions this way. Normally in Illustrator, I would copy the height of one object and paste it into the height field of another object, but in Photoshop, I've noticed the height and width fields in the Properties panel are not editable for smart objects, so I can't do that. And when in the Transform tool, it looks like the height and width fields that pop up on top are only for scaling percentages. To give an example, if I have one 100x300px logo on an ad artboard in Photoshop and I need to place it's si

Hi,I buy Photoshop 26.1 to get at the RAW converter with masking methods (primitive as they are) I have loads of scanned negs and slides to use RAW converter controls on, gain acces to dehaze, clarity etc.made a load of masks to sort one photo out, 14 or more. opened it into Pshop 26.2, went back next day and all are gone, no .xmp file in the folder the file lives in, .A test discovers File>Open As > Camera RAW, denies an xmp file  being made. Only opening a raw file from a camera raw mode setting allows .xmp.I have a Canon EOS 70D and set to take images only as RAW. each one 24Mb !I get sent images not as raw, and so use Open As method.I have scanned negs, and slides , loads of, to fix., they are not native RAW files, denoise in RAW would be so useful for them, and all the tools it gives for sorting out images. Why is Adobe against non native RAW files ? Its exactly what we need for such. what STUPID THING is this. oh its not a raw file so sod off , it feels like

I logged into PS this morning, had a 'New Features' box appear and clicked OK.My interface to PS then changed to a minimalistic view and my previous imported PHLearn Presets on a drop down menu to the right of my main screen but to the left of my layers workflow screen, disappeared. I am not looking to import them again, so really hope they are just hidden within the 'new features' change. I am currently using version 26.4 (if needed) since this morning, but have updated a previous version since to try to resolve, so am sitting on 26.3 as I write.  Not overly technical minded, could someone give me the 'idiot's step-by-step to get the presets panel back.(See attached which indicates where it sat on the page. It could be closed and opened through an arrow facility as needed.)Thanks  Thanks

In Photoshop CS6 the flashing type cursor cuts through several lines of text (see image).  This makes it hard to select text since it is hard to tell which line the cursor will select (see image).  Can the text cursor be resized?  This happens no matter what type size is used or what paragraph settings are selected.  Is anyone else experiencing this problem?  I am using Windows 7 professional, service pack 1 on a Dell Precision T3500 with 8.0 GB RAM.

Si no mantengo el cursor , deja de verse la selección. Para no tener que hacer una nueva selección igual, ¿Qué debo hacer para que esta permanezca según la máscara y pueda hacer ajustes en las zonas seleccionadas?  (repito que si retiro el cursor, la selección deja de verse. Agradecido por cualquier tipo de ayuda.
