My Brush Presets have Smoothing unchecked and locked in addition to Tool Presets and it's still enabled every time PS restarts. In fact, it's outright overriding my Brush Presets, they're all outlined in orange the second I click on them. Even the purpose-built "Default (No Effects)" Preset is affected and it's not linked to any Tools.Screenshot shows Smoothing still locked yet re-checked and re-enabled regardless causing the orange outline as the Preset knows Smoothing is supposed to be off... However, Shape Dynamics and Transfer settings ARE retained and staying set in the expected way. Smoothing says "f-you, I'll do what I want."Incidentally, what's up with the WHITE hightlighting in the entry fields of Collapsed ⇄ Expanded panels? (visible in screenshot)Lastly, good job on implementing this reworked Brush Presets managament. Hoping this Smoothing hiccup will be remedied quickly.

Ever since Select and Mask had been released, I've never managed to get it to work smoothly. Actually, when it was first launched, it probably worked the "best" but it still was a waiting game and was never quick. Is there an optimal setting? The quick selection tool is almost instant. I have a decent system but it struggles in Select and Mask. Please see video for demo of my experience. Also, see comments for system spec. Does anyone actually use it effectively? Or do you still use the "old method"(refine edge). This is excruciatingly painful - over 5 mins and I've still not manage to make a basic cutout

I have a fairly small psd file (1920x1080) containing just a couple of layers (25) mostly embedded linked psd files (small - between 70kb and 400kb each). Now Photoshop (CC latest fwiw) sais, it can't save the document because it's bigger than 2 gigabytes. The document info sais Doc: 7,91M/50,9M... Now what? iMac 24GB RAM, Mavericks (latest), PS CC (latest)

I have to reset this every single time I open photoshop. It's the default thumbnail size for the Timeline Frames.https://i.imgur.com/hNORIgr.pngPlease let users set a default for this somehow!!!

I discovered the watercolor artist photoshop action set earlier this year and have used it to make beautiful pieces. I used it not even a week ago to make a piece but I updated Photoshop to Photoshop 2021 and suddenly it no longer works! I now get an error message partway through the action set saying "Could not complete your request because of a program error" and it won't finish rendering. I've already checked the original link where I downloaded the action set (https://creativecloud.adobe.com/discover/article/transform-photos-into-watercolors-with-a-free-photoshop-action) and they have updated it since the instalation update in November. I tried redownloading the pattern, brush, and action files and re-uploading them into Photoshop, but that didn't resolve the problem either. Anyone else having this problem or have any idea how to fix it? I'm supposed to make pieces for people for the holidays but now I don't know what to do!!!

There seems to be a bug on Photoshop and Illustrator for macOS BigSur 11.0 Beta (Adobe CC latest versions 2021) that when you try to replace an old file with the same file name, the window freezes (and the buttons become unclickable) and you pretty much have to force exit the application in activity monitor to get things running again.    Please see the screenshot for reference:

In older versions, I used this combination (see image). Beginning from version 2020, stroke and shadow effects on a folder with Fill Layer do not work.

I have PS CC and when I try to export a simple psd which includes a text box as PDF when I open the file on mac with preview I realize that there's no whitespace in the text. I tried to set different PDF versions while exporting but the result is the same. Is there anyone experience this issue?

The enter key in the simplified test code below is not allowing users to create a new line within the edit text field (as expected). Instead, the modal is being submitted. The code works properly on OSX but not Windows.   I've mostly tried eventListener related solutions. So enterKey, onEnterKey, onChange, change, etc - then assigning them to different elements in the interface. Haven't been able to get those event listeners to fire, but if I could, would try event.preventDefault() or event.stopPropogation() as well. No luck yet.   var modal = new Window("dialog");modal = addFilenamesPanel(modal)/*Commenting 'addSubmissionButtonsGroup' fixes the issue. So maybe there is problematic a event listener or propogation occurring within the submission buttons.*/modal = addSubmissionButtonsGroup(modal)modal.show();function addFilenamesPanel(modal) {     modal.filenamesPanel = modal.add(        "panel",undefined,"Filenames"    );  &nbs

The Photoshop team welcomes your feedback on this experimental feature. Let us know what you think! — Photoshop user interface controls may appear small and hard-to-read on high-density displays. Also, on touch-enabled screens, you may have trouble clicking the smaller controls. 200% scaling solves this issue by doubling the size of the user interface. Since the user interface elements increase in size by 200%, depending on the size and resolution of your display, you may need to adjust the layout of existing workspaces. For example, on a 1080 px screen at 200%, the Tools panel extends off the bottom of the screen. You can change to double-column orientation in order to fit the panel on the screen. Note: This feature is only for Windows users. HiDPI on Mac has been available for high-density Retina displays since Photoshop CS6. Caveats You may encounter some cosmetic issues while using this feature. While many Photoshop dialogs have been reworked so that they fit on the screen at 1080

It's still a huge issue in the newest psd: it simply does not update when I drag the pasted graphic. handles outside the vp-mesh are not visible and I have to resize the window in order to get an update of its position. placing it where I want is near to impossible.MacBook Pro 2018, 16GB RAMNote: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop CC 2019: Vanishing Point Filter Issue.

The new grid in 21.1. Oh my God. I can't stand it. Whose idea was it to make the grid be a compulsory 2px thickness? It looks actually very nice in zoomed-in mode:But it's just horrible when you zoom out. What used to be a feather-thin lattice of lines has become a solid 2px-thick mess that overwhelms everything else. When you use use lots of artboards like me (and therefore need to frequently navigate around in zoomed-out mode) it becomes quite problematic. Here's the same portion of a document with the new grid and without. Even though it's zoomed out, you can clearly make out the content of it when there's no grid. But once you show the new grid, you can barely see anything but the thick gridlines. Some of the smaller shapes that are easily visible on the left are now hard to make out, as are the translucent ones; the text is much harder to read too. Plus the whole thing is just straining on your eyes. The old grid didn't have these problems. Dammit, Adobe, this reminds me of th

Greetings Adobe.1. It is just as the title suggests it.Photoshop CC 2020's vector and raster engines are performing way slower than many years ago and each new year it it continue to decrease. If you need to, work at least two years to implement The Vulkan lib as it seems to performs faster and better than OpenGL.But, yeah, in general, the app's performance has decreased over the years.

The object in preview does not update to show changes from moving the sliders in Filter > 3D > Generate normal map. Legacy Compositing does not help Using a Nvidia 2060s 8mbit vram

Here is a bug I came across that is replicable on Mac as well as PC in Photoshop.  If you create a shape layer, say with the Rectangle tool, and then fill that shape with a default Photoshop pattern, in this example let's use the first one in the palette, "Right Diagonal Line 1". No problems so far.  Now if you double click the shape layer a "Pattern Fill" window comes up and you have the option to change the Angle as well as the Scale. Now in my testing, you can change the Angle, OR the Scale to anything and it's fine. BUT if you change BOTH, to various number combinations you can preview and continue to work and save the file as normal but then won't be able to open it back up again.  So to continue with the example:  I change my Angle to 64 and my Scale to 70 previews, save, close and when you open again, you get the error "Could not open "Untitled-1.psd" because of a program error.   Some Angle and Scale combinations don't seem to trip up and break the

In the two latest Photoshop releases this bug occured: if to click a video layer on the timeline, it's not getting selected, but has to (two releases back it worked fine). It's really annoying when creating animation and need to switch between the layers constantly, but it's not possible on the timeline.

Hi, I'm using Photoshop 22.0.1 and I have a question that I can't find the answer to anywhere online...   I'm trying to use the Shape Tool to create a perspective grid that I normally use for my environment art. Unfortunately, when I open the Polygon Tool and then drop down the Path Options menu, it's completely different than what I'm used to since the latest update. It doesn't have an option to enable Star or to adjust the Indent Size. I don't know what to do. I depend on those perspective grid lines for my work. Can I change it back to the way it was before, or is there a new way to do it that makes my job easier? I appreciate the help!

Platform: Macbook Pro.I updated to Photoshop 21.1.0 and having path pasting problems. With an existing PSD file:I am trying to paste entire paths and path segments into other paths, or into new blank paths, and it is not working. Hello everybody. With the latest Photoshop update (21.2.2), the fix we had  to get the pressure sensitivity back with the PSUserConfig.txt fix is no longer working. This fix was necessary to work properly with a Pen Stylus on Windows, without using the Windows Ink features. We are used to turn of  Windows Ink systematicaly when using a Pen Tablet because it causes a lot of issues. (Wacom and other brands)   Why Windows Ink is not suitable  Windows Ink ON :   1-There is a 1 second delay with every new clic and drag before the cursor catches up with the stylus. It happens when dragging a window, using a slider to adjust a value (in photoshop or any other app), resizing a layer, and even when drawing. So the begining of each new stroke will freeze for 1 sec before catching up to the movement of the stylus. You can imagine the hell it can be when hatching, or doing fast repetitive movements/adjustements.   2-Certain applications, like Chrome for exemple, don't

HELP!!!!!  I need to send these files to print and cannot get the graphics to show on saved files.  The proper graphics show on my psd file, but then when i save as jpeg (or anything else) as soon as the save screen pops up some graphics disappear.  I need to fix this TODAY.  What do I do?

i downloaded photoshop from adobe, installer fails with Code 1.Running on Mac os X 10.15 Catalina

Bug: Photoshop v.21.2.0, running on Mac Catalina v.10.15.5. Photoshop instantly crashes when you try to change effect settings on a text folder. Description: If you have a saved effect on a folder for text (I use it to set all the text lines on a promo graphic to white or black), and you try to adjust the effect, like if you try to uncheck the effect, Photoshop instantly disappears and everything you've done is not saved. It doesn't go through normal shut down mode. This happened several times to me yesterday before I realized what was happening and it's seriously annoying. Workaround: Reopen Photoshop, reopen the file, and pull text items out of the folder with effects and into a new folder. Delete the old folder. Save the updated file.

Hello. My entire Photoshop layout has doubled in size with this new update; it looks like it's in Windows Safe Mode. Is there a way to fix this? I am currently uninstalling and re-downloading the previous version because my eyes were melting from the bloated interface.Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Photoshop CC 2018 (19.1) update now available.
