I have 1min of footage, I want to create an expression that creates a loop that advances forward one frame with each iteration.I tried unsuccessfully time remapping with  LoopOutDuration(type = “offset”, duration = (4/24)).What I’m looking for is if “n” is the duration of the loop and “a” is the first frame of the loop, say n = 4 then what I need is:abcd bcde cdef  …. till the end of the footage.If I could get that to work I’d be very happy.If I could also get it to ping pong then I’d be extremely happy, e.g.:abcdcba bcdedcb cdefedcAny answers gratefully received.Chris-----I should have kept looking: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/227/23446#23446 f = timeToFrames(time); seg = Math.floor(f/5); phase = f%5; framesToTime(seg + ((phase == 4) ? 2 : phase))Currently fiddling with this.Does the travelling loop but not the pingpong.Praise be to Dan.

hello, I have a problem with my CTI.When I first opened my after effect, the red line CTI is doing fine, but after few minutes when I play preview the video & audio is playing but my CTI doesn't move.Could anyone help me with this problem?

An interesting development in the world of AE amongst its community members in recent months has been the release of quite a few free and paid After Effects scripts and Extensions (CEP). These are interesting times indeed because for those technically driven in the art of AE can and should take advantage of AI-assisted Coding Assistants -  the sky isn't the limit but you can certainly take flight and have a jolly good time. Here's a quick look at a script I imagined, desgined and crafted with the help of a couple of Coding Assistants. ACDC - a famous rock band and now aka Align Clone Distribute Clone empowers users to quickly and (hopefully) intuitively align and distribute layers and groups of layers quickly with pixel-perfect accuracy. Thefinal frame of my animation is still showing a motion blur. How do I remove this efect on the final frame?

I have a 1920x1080 .mxf in a 608x1080 Comp, to crop it and to make a vertical promo.When I add Lumetric Color to this Layer, it scales the layer horizontally to fit in the Comp size.This is strange behaviour. 

Hi everyone,I'm trying to upload my finished video using after effect on Behance. I wanted to upload it as a GIF but the size is too big and I couldn't upload it as a result (the outcome of downsizing of my GIF file through both photoshop and website was not smooth). So I decided to put it as a normal H.264 in Behance. However, as you can see in the photo that I attached, there are black lines on the side. I adjusted the size few times and the bottom thin line has disappeared but the ones on the sides do not seem to disappear. The pixel size of the uploaded image is 2720 x 1555 px. If I encode it as GIF with the same size black lines are not appearing. I also tried encoding from Vimeo but somehow whenever I encode the video becomes too small with bad quality. I prefer to upload it as GIF but would be happy to upload it as H.264. I have been struggling with this problem for more than a month and still couldn't find the solution. If anyone could help me out I would re

For many videos now I have had a black frame problem in After Effects. Random black frames appearing in the preview window and export. As well as random frames from a different part of the video, although that is less frequent.It seems like it would be a frame rate problem, but it still happens when frame rates are all matched. As I edit in Premiere and then export, which is then brought into After Effects. I also bring in separate videos in the an After Effects comp for B roll that will have the black frame problem, and the frame rate of those videos is not something I have control over. That is unless I exported a copy of the video from Premiere and changed the frame rate settings before export. This would be tedious to do, and there is no guarantee it would work.But if this problem does not happen in Premiere it seems like it is a problem that can be fixed in After Effects. Regardless it seems like something that should be possible to fix.Can Adobe fix this problem for future update

Hello! Some days ago i've found that my after effects eye dropper isn't working properly. I know that it's an old issue, but is there any fix? I need to use ofter to pick colors, and the hex numbers wont match them, unless the color that I want to pick is inside my composition (on project thumbnail it keeps getting the wrong color, same at motion tools plugin that collect the color palette).

Hi Forum. I'm adding an ellipse shape, and adding some points to the shape. But when I delete the points on the shape, rather than the shape splitting like it would in Illustrator its resulting in making a line across the shape still connecting the ellipse. I'm trying to achieve result A but I am getting result B as shown in this example. Thank you.  

Hi,I'm filming an object on a green background from several directions at the same time using identical cameras, so I get pretty identical videos. In After Effects I remove the green background (keylight1.2)My problem is that the software doesn't do it simultaneously, it only works on one video at a time.I enabled multi-frame rendering, also search for a solution in the web but didn't find one CPU amd 7950x, 128 GB ram Thanks in advance

Trying to Launch AE after install to Tahoe. All of my other applications work. Upon launch I get a message about possible corrupted plug-ins and if I want to start in Safe Mode. I cannot even select safe mode as it just spins so I force stop the application. I uninstalled and re-installed, same problem.

Hello, Posting this for future reference/in the hope that it can be resolved before other people lose time. Not sure if this is the place for it, sorry if it isn't!I found myself unable to save my working file. This has happened to me for the third time in a week:As I Cmd+S save the file, the little pop-up box that indicates the saving progress —the one with the little blue bar— pops up, but doesn’t fill up completely. It got stuck on a certain percentage (last time 41%, this time 71%), but rather than giving an error message or anything similar, it just seems to abort the saving process and closes the box. It looked as if I had saved it, but I actually hadn't. This is the same when– using any of the other saving options.– trying to package the file. I could ‘export’/hack a copy of the file by rendering it via Media Encoder. I tried to remove all unused footage. Then all linked images/video/audio. This seems to bump the percentage of saving up from 71% to 75% s

Win 11 64Gb Ram, Nvidia Studio Driver 572.83. The update to AE went ok, but I am getting incredible strained lag when I use the general top drop down menus - especially if you navigate back and forward. Even in AE Safe mode and Software only. Looking at Task Manager it briefly flickers the word 'efficiency' when it freezes but not sure if thats anything. Anyone else notice this. Hi, I am struggeling with something , Please seinors help me.  So I know I have to apply easy ease, or easy ease in, out, to the keyframes- to make keyframe's motion smooth. linear makes it look robotic.  right? so what if I have 12/20/40  keyframes of position and rotation of a character doing something with its hand. do I need to make them all easy ease?? or  suppose  I have a perticular part where I need to make the motion swift or slow, only then I would  select ''all those assosiated keyframes'' and apply easy ease to those ONLY  and I would leave the rest of the keyframes as it is (linear)?   I am losing my peace over it. Please guide me.  In the attached example do I need to make all the keyframes F9 (easy ease) ? Or only the part where I feel like here motion should be fast and make those keyframes easy ease and go to the graph editor and tweak them.. Thank you.

Hello,I am experiencing severe performance issues with Adobe After Effects. The application is lagging significantly during use and while rendering, even when I am working in quarter resolution and using it minimally ( minimal animation with 3d camera ). Additionally, the software frequently crashes and takes around 2–5 minutes just to save a project or export a video file, and it is also crashing frequently.This is not due to my system configuration, as I am using a newly assembled high-spec PC with the following specifications:NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti (16 GB)32 GB RAMAMD Ryzen 5 9600X (6-core processor)MSI Pro B650 S WiFi motherboardI have already visited the PC service center 2–3 times, and they confirmed that there are no hardware-related issues.The main issue appears to be that After Effects is not utilizing the NVIDIA GPU at all, and instead it is consuming nearly 98% of the CPU and MEMORY. So far I know of 2 different ways to export to a PSD, but each has it's own problem:'Save Frame As / File' — flattens all layers'Save Frame As / Photoshop Layers' — saves low-resolution, also some with some glitches (at least with the 3D objects I'm using) Is there a way around this? I don't get why the first option flattens everything and exports it at a lower resolution?

Hi all,I usually receive graded files for footage done in Resolve and then import them to After Effects (or Premiere) but the person using Resolve has to do that with every clip we use. They did the first clip in the series so now for colour consistency I need to have the same settings as them so the following clips don't seem off. I was wondering if they can somehow export a lut? xml? of the values Resolve used on the log/raw footage and import them in Lumetri in After Effects (or Premiere) and apply them directly in log/raw footage having the same visual output. If a plugin for this workflow transfer exists it's also welcome.
