I updated my Mac mini to Tahoe 26.6.2 and now I cannot load Illustrator. It keeps saying that I should do it again. Which I’ve done but it never works

In the illustrator v30.6 non-proportionate size is not working. Give me a solution regarding this. 

What I have here is a design where the linework “flows” into a rectangular border that frames everything.  I need to bring the inner border in to where the red rectangle is.  I don’t wand to scale everything down, just change the inner rectangle to where the red one sits, effectively “trimming” everything with the red rectangle.  In the past I thought I have done this with pathfinder, but I can seem to make it work.  I have tried to combine the red rectangle with an outside rectangle, but that didn’t work.  The info panel says all shapes are closed.  Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Get error: "An error occurred trying to read the linked file “***.jpg”. Choose Replace to select another file or Ignore to leave the link unchanged.Replace | Ignore | Cancel"I choose "Ignore", and what I see is the 1 huge, unscaled image above the clipping group plus 2 scaled images within the clipping group, (3 links in total). If I delete 1 huge, unscaled image above and 1 scaled image within the clipping group, save, and open again, everything repeats - 3 links in total.Also, if I scale only an image within the clipping group, it shows SVG processing.

Please add a preferences toggle that keeps the active path/drawing tool engaged when a user switches to the zoom tool or uses zoom commands. Constantly losing the active anchor point during view changes slows down my drawing workflow.Again, I just want to be able to zoom and have the path still active instead of having to click on the most recent anchor point to reactivate it. Also, make the hit box bigger for users with a wacom stylus. Thank you!

Looking into this again. I cannot possibly be the only one on the planet experiencing this.Anyone have any issues with their document window opening in a narrow strip? Always narrow width full height.Every document. Hi,I'm using an EAN-13 barcode font.In InDesign, I know exactly what makes it work: Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer.The problem is Illustrator.If I copy a working EAN-13 barcode from InDesign into Illustrator, it works correctly.But if I create a new text object in Illustrator from scratch, enter the same EAN-13 digits, and apply the same font, it does not work.So there is clearly some text/composition setting being carried over from InDesign, but I cannot find the equivalent option in Illustrator.What is the Illustrator equivalent of InDesign's Adobe World-Ready Paragraph Composer?Where can I enable it, or what Illustrator text setting do I need to use so that a newly created text object behaves like the one pasted from InDesign?Thanks!

Hi everybody, I am trying to make these weird rounded diamond shapes out of another shape consisting of a tube and a circle. I want to blend the ends of the tube smoothly with the edges of the circle with straight lines to make a new shape. As illustrated. I hope that makes sense! When making the grey shape to merge with the original red shape, with snap to point and smart guides on, you can kind of do it by eye, but you have to guess exactly where on the circle circumference to put the point to get a smooth blend. As you can see if you zoom in, the bottom right side of the new shape is not quite right. Is there a better more reliable of doing this than just going by eye and guess work? 

  Found this on accident. At least on Mac OS and Illustrator 30.7, when in the file menu to place files, there is a button to “Generate with Firefly.” Clicking it takes basically takes over your Illustrator and sends you to a dedicated Firefly workspace. There is the option to open it in Firefly Web and the option to “Open in Editor”; this button seemingly does nothing but close the window and bring you back to Illustrator with your original file ready to be placed.  Genuinely just curious, how long has this been in Illustrator? Has anyone else ever noticed it? I can’t seem to find any other way to access this menu (for once that’s a good thing) and given there are so many other ways to generate inside Illustrator already, do we really need an entire dedicated workspace with a convoluted way to access it? It didn’t even start to load and instead just gave me a grey screen for 3+ minutes on my first click, I had to restart Illustrator for it to work. I would hope having a fully dedicate

Ilustrator 30.7 on a M1 Macbook Pro - Create a text box, enter my type, adjust size and leading. Create a border around the text box with the rectangle tool, group both.  Scale the group with the scale tool, and the type remains the same size.   Convert type to point type, redo the border, group, scale and now the type scales, but the leading does not scale.I have another machine (intel based) that has no issue with multiple text blocks, grouped and scales with either the corner pin or the scale tool no issues at all. I can’t keep converting all my text blocks to point type just to scale….What is going on? Edit to add - I have 24 text boxes that were created to fit into a certain area, I used to be able to scale the entire sheet to fit another size, now it won’t scale the type properly at all.   

Hello,Is it possible for layers containing artwork / text to be hidden / unhidden, based on a selection or check box that is made as part of a decision process?For example. Like when a new document is created, there is a selection process for the size and details of that document the user has to input. I would like a similar selection process; however, it would have questions like “is the product Round or Square”. Depending on the check box / pick list value selected, the artwork on the appropriate layer would be hidden / unhidden in the correct location.To give a bit more context, I am a Technical Artworker for a company needing to create labels for products. I currently have various enormous templates where I need to drag and drop labels of pre-determined size and change the text, depending on the product specification. This is long winded and open to human error. A selection process, tool, or add-on that helped with this would be a huge time saving.Any feedback would be most welcome

Just curious. Why has it become more difficult to select paths with smart guides off? Even with the black square dot appearing on the arrow cursor, clicking in Illustrator frequently fails to select the line I’m pointing to. Yet clicking the exact same spot with the smart guides on, results in selection.And while I’m at it…Why does creating a new paragraph style with text selected most often (but not always) result in a style sheet that is missing font, weight, and color?Why does the appearance palette frequently require me to deleselect and reselect an effect before the trash can icon activates?Why does the swatches palette frequently require me to deselect and reselect swatches before the plus icon activates?Why does changing stroke color of a selection containing both lines using arrows and lines not using arrows, result in all lines using arrows?…why is Illustrator’s interface becoming less reliable?

Whenever I try to open an .ai file containing elements linked to a Nextcloud server folder (virtual files that have already been downloaded), the application consistently stops responding.This never happened before; the error only started occurring yesterday.

Say you have a curved path, just a 'u' shaped curved path. There's 3 anchor points in that path, 2 at the ends and 1 at the middle.How do I remove the middle anchor point without changeing the shape of the curved path?

I’ve been writing scripts for many years and I have created a large library of helper “include” scripts that I share between scripts, but they have never worked when I need a UI Window. Is this a known behavior?I just went through a long trouble shooting session with AI and tested all kinds of configurations and here is what I knowthe included files run and there are no errors - I can verify defined variables and functions when I run the script, but any UI fails to loadthe UI shows if instead of #include, I eval() the filethe UI shows if I interrupt the script with an alert() window and the UI will remain visible till I dismiss the alertI’ve tested it with stripped down scripts with no logic just the UI. stripped down include files, even empty ones, the conclusion is the same. #include causes windows to not show, or close immediately. i have “#target illustrator; #targetengine main” at top. etc.Is this the expected behavior?

When I open an Adobe Illustrator file I have just saved and closed, some pixel layers disappear, but their bounding boxes are still there and still in the links panel without thumbnail. What should be the reasons and how to fix this?  This happened with many different illustrator files and even with my friends.

Hi! I'm having a persistent cursor-size problem in Adobe Illustrator on Windows 11.My computer is a Lenovo Slim 7 ProX 14ARH7 (Type 82V2), with a 3072 × 1920 display running at 200% Windows scaling.The problem is that the cursor becomes extremely small when Illustrator is using its canvas/interactive cursor. It is normal-sized elsewhere in Windows and in most of Illustrator. On Illustrator's Home screen, the cursor also becomes tiny when I hover over selectable/clickable elements.I've tried Illustrator versions 29.0 through 30.7, and the exact same problem occurs in every version I've tested. I have also completely uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator and reset the Illustrator preferences.I've tested:• Windows mouse-pointer size — no effect• Illustrator "Scale Cursor Proportionately" — no effect• GPU Performance on/off — no effect• Windows DPI compatibility overrides — no actual fix• Windows display scaling at 150% — the cursor/UI become proportionally smaller, but the canvas itself

Really annoying and frustrating problem. One of the most basic functions > "Export > Export for screens" > Saving as PNG > is not working as it shouldI have a file with 10 artboards and when I export for screens as png, some of the files get exported as .tmp Its almost like illustrator is choking with a png export function. Is there a fix for this? Was it because of one of those "infamous" adobe updates? 

When I try to open or save a file to Adobe Cloud from Illustrator, it takes an extremely long time to open. This has been the case for several weeks, but today it doesn't seem to open at all. On another device, it is also slow, but it works at the moment. Is this a known problem?
