Hello, Since updating to version 2026 of the Adobe Creative CC suite, I've been having issues with InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. The fonts and text appear distorted or damaged, with a sort of outline, and my PNG files (with transparent backgrounds) show up with a white background. The same goes for PSD elements in Photoshop, which appear with a white background even though there isn’t one. This makes it very difficult to design my ads, brochures, etc.Has anyone else encountered this kind of problem?
Using the line tool, I’m finding I can draw one at 224 or 226 degrees, but not 225. I haven’t checked other angles. If I manually enter 225, it draws a line, but when traced, it’s 226 degrees.Huh?
Recently I'm witnessing more and more bugs/glitches that are resolved by switching from GPU preview to CPU preview. I wasn't able to track the exact situations that generates them but all of a sudden I see big pink areas that change when moving objects (not in the actual graphics, just in the "preview"), much greater "alignment" issues (this always happened but only when zooming a lot, and only on certain projects), “approximation” of curves (not sure how to call them). and gradient pixelations. All these stuff had a 500% increase since I’m using Ai 2025, especially the latest releases. I can’t update further, anyway (nor downgrade at this point), since I’m using a 2015 Macbook Pro Intel Core i7 quad-core with a AMD Radeon R9 M370X GPU and 16GB RAM.I know it’s a pretty outdated machine but it always run perfect so far and never had such issues before!I am now on Ai 29.0.
for some reason my clipping mask isn’t working. I’m making sure my texture is sandwiched between two layers of the same motif and that the top layer is in the very front. I’m selecting all the layers and clicking command 7
I am creating a pattern with lots of graphics in which I use merge live paint tool. Everytime I copy and paste a graphic it fills with the original pattern, even after I deleted the pattern swatch, it fills stroke and fill.
I am drawing house plans for a remodel. To get them precise I’m preparing drawing elements at 1:1 scale - which I set in the Dimension settings tool. I want a separate file at a scale of 1:48 for printing at 24”x36” open at the same time to paste various drawing element into for final preparation and formatting. AI responses online say that when I open the Dimension settings in one document those settings are for that document only and that I can set the other one at a different scale. I’ve done that several times and it does not work. Either I’m missing some setting to limit the choice to a single file or those instructions are simply wrong.Anyone have any experience with this and suggestions? Thanks!
Illustrator share for review updating still not working. You can only update the last file shared whatever the file you’re in. The only solution is delete the shared link — leaving clients completely lost and loosing all previous comments! — and start from scratch. Too bad the community manager’s replies — I’m sorry to hear… Are you AI or real people? Adobe, I’m paying 80 euros / month for your shit, so fix this now and stop saying you’re sorry!
I’m trying to stop Creative Cloud from downloading Adobe Acrobat updates without permission. Asking here because I’ve tried a dozen times but can't for the life of me get an answer in the Acrobat fora. I’ve come here because I always seem to get knowledgable answers and recommendations here. Does anyone know how to stop an updated version from being downloaded (in the way Illustrator and Photoshop manage to extend this courtesy to users)?
Hi there I am assisting a client of ours with a GPU error that is being received whilst he is in Illustrator. He is one of the marketing designers for the company. The device specifications are: Dell Pro Max 16Intel(R) Core(TM) Ultra 7 265H64GB of ramIntel(R) Arc(TM) Pro 140T GPU (32GB)NVIDIA RTX PRO 1000 Blackwell Generation Laptop GPUWhilst using Illustrator he repeatedly receives the following error message, I have gone through the forum and tried all applicable fixes includingSetting the application settings within the Nvidia panel to use the high performance GPU.Updated the Intel Iris drivers.Updated the Nvidia drivers.Uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Creative Cloud. (Used Revo uninstaller to ensure a clean removal).Attempted the registry fixes.None of them worked, The GPU is also not visible within the Adobe settings as per below,I am unsure as to how to resolve this issue as it is a brand new device. Any advice will be appreciated.
A few days ago, I was able to save Adobe Illustrator files containing older Monotype fonts as PDF files. But today, I suddenly can’t save them as PDF files, and the following error message appears:“Cannot save the file as the font “CHei2HKS-Xbold” could not be embedded because of licensing restrictions.”What’s wrong? Thanks.
Lately Ive been having lag issues with Illustrator opening. It takes a few minutes - and when i cmd+opt+esc to see the tasks it always says “not responding.” It does eventually open, but wondering why this is happening? I keep looking for an update to the program, but its been 2 weeks now.
Suddenly the hand-tool (hand) is turned on and stuck. I pressed the space bar many times, but issue do not let go. Switching to other instruments does not work, but menus and hotkeys do. This behavior in Al, ID, I even installed the AI beta, everything is the same. All the latest versions.Demo:Hardware:MacBook Pro 2019Intel + AMDmacOS Sonoma 14.1.2 Did not help:- Reset settings- Uninstalling/installing Al via cloud- Reboot in Safe Mode, start AI and reboot again.- I found tips to disable mac OS dictation. But I don't have it enabled. Rebooting the computer temporarily helps, but then the problem returns.Contacted in the end to tech support. The support connected via a special program for remote access. In Activity monitor completed all processes where Adobe and Creative is mentioned. Started Cloud, then Al.And sort of clicked the space bar a lot and everything went ¯\_(ツ)_/¯It appeared again though. I opened the virtual keyboard, clicked the space bar and so far it began to wo
Occasionally I will have a file that all the links seem to get to this weird broken state of including massive amounts of clear space at the top of them and all their scales are wildly off. I have not be able to figure out what may be causing this. the links do not have this space in the files. included 2 photos. one is the graphic prior to relinking it and the other is the skewed graphic after relinking.
I’ve been using Illustrator for well over-20 years and have never seen this issue at this intensity. Illustrator is freezing every 4–5 seconds, like clockwork, for about half a second. It’s rhythmic and continuous, and it’s now becoming difficult to work with.No other Adobe apps do this. No other program on my system does this. It is 100% Illustrator‑specific.I spent my entire Saturday trying to isolate the cause. Here’s what I’ve already done:• Reset all Illustrator preferences• Renamed/deleted Adobe cache folders (AppData → Roaming & Local)• Checked mouse settings, polling rate, drivers• Checked Windows registry scancode maps• Disabled all overlays (Xbox Game Bar, NVIDIA, etc.)• Toggled GPU Performance on/off• Toggled Real-Time Drawing & Editing• Toggled Pixel Preview, Overprint Preview, Smart Guides, Rulers / Reset Preferences • Tested in blank documents and new files• Disabled Creative Cloud sync features• Checked for background p
Since updating to the latest version of Illustrator (Regular version) I have not been able to use freeform gradients, I have a client document with multiple versions and use of freeform gradients within it and since the update either I don’t see any fill in the gradient or the app crashes altogether. i have installed a previous version of illustrator and the problem is fixed, I guess this post is just for anyone who is experiencing a similar issue and to flag it for adobe.
Hi everyone,I’m facing severe performance issues with both Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign on a very powerful workstation laptop. After extensive troubleshooting, the situation hasn’t improved at all, so I’m hoping someone here might help me understand what’s going on.System specifications• Laptop: ASUS ProArt P16• CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 (high‑end mobile workstation class)• GPU: NVIDIA RTX 5070 Laptop GPU• RAM: 64 GB• Storage: 2 × 2 TB NVMe SSD• OS: Windows 11 (fully updated)The machine is extremely fast in every other application, including 3D, CAD, GIS, and other heavy creative software.SymptomsBoth Illustrator and InDesign show extreme lag, even with very simple vector files. The issues include:• Delayed UI response when zooming, panning, selecting, or moving objects• Stuttering and slow redraws• Lag even on empty or nearly empty documents• Occasional multi‑second freezes• Illustrator frequently shows this error:Resource usage (very abnorma
On Windows 11 and Mac Tahoe. In the average 8 hour day, Illustrator crashes on me 8-12 times. I lose about 30 minutes to an hour of work everyday. No specific error, sometimes I get the error report screen, sometimes not. Sometimes it recovers, sometimes not. I even have Astute Saviour installed to help stay on top of saving, but since Illustrator won’t auto save while a group is isolated to edit it, then I can be editing within a group for 15 minutes without an autosave, and then I just lose it all and have to start over. Constantly throughout the day. Why not let it save while in a group, why does it kick me out of the group when I save? This feels like an easy fix and more of a secure way to make sure autosaves actually happen.I have grown to absolutely despise Illustrator.Photoshop almost never crashes on me. And Illustrator crashes on both Mac and PC platforms.I’ve gone through all suggested fixes, and it still just crashes...constantly. (update GFX, disable GFX performance , purge
Can someone explain the results when the following is run on an Illustrator document with one text frame?var myDoc = app.activeDocument;var myTextFrame = myDoc.textFrames[0]myTextFrame.contents = "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet\rLorem\tipsum\tdolor\tsit\tamet";alert(myTextFrame.words.length);alert(myTextFrame.lines[0].words.length);alert(myTextFrame.lines[1].words.length);for (l=0; l<2; l++){ concat = "#"; for (i=0; i<myTextFrame.lines[l].words.length; i++) { concat += myTextFrame.lines[l].words[i].contents; concat += "#"; } alert(concat);}1459#Lorem#ipsum#dolor#sit#amet##Lorem#Lorem#ipsum#ipsum#dolor#dolor#sit#sit#amet#Why does separating the words by tabs seem to duplicate all but the last word in the line?Is this a bug, and if not, what is the logic behind it?I believe I have the latest version of Illustrator downloaded via CC
This just started yesterday when I save SVG files: I get an error message saying that this file already exists at the target location, so it creates a new file with the same name, ending in -01. Whenever I edit any existing SVG file, whether in a desktop folder, iCloud, or in dropbox, it saves the edits as a new file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Illustrator. I have updated my mac software and restarted my computer. Nothing is working to stop this duplication from happening. I just want to save my edits without creating duplicate files! This does not happen when I save them as .ai files, but I use SVG files with a machine that doesn’t read .ai file.
It's a little difficult to explain this properly, but whenever I try to move the Illustrator program window to another part of my screen, it instantly moves behind every other program window I have open. Even if I just move it a teeny tiny bit...boom... now it's behind all the programs I have open. It is very annoying and I can't find a solution anywhere. I dropped in "before and after" screenshots if they help at all. You can see the "Pathfinder" toolbar is still in front of the Chrome window so it's definitely a weird glitch. The issue doesn't happen with any other Adobe program either. I have updated to the latest vesion of AI a few times and still no luck. I have a 2021 Macbook Pro. Anyone have a solution? Thank you.
Hi, I get this error every time I try to save now, and after I try a second time Illustrator crashes. I have too much work on this file to start over again, does anyone have an idea of how I can fix this?
I open a file I’ve been working on, after I updated my Illustrator to 30.4 and it just quits. If I’ve made any changes it will ask if I want to save, doesn’t give me a chance to cancel and it quits. I get maybe 90 sec of work in and it quits.
I'm on the lookout for a simple script to sort an Illustrator artboard list alphabetically. (I don't need the artboards themselves rearranged on the canvas, just the order of the artboards in the list.)In the example (image) below, the artboard list reads:1. life-ring2. wheelchair-alt3. wheelchair4. information...30. blind-walkingThe desired result would be for the artboard list itself to be sorted to read:1. assistive-listening2. assistive-listening-telecoil3. blind-walking4. braille...30. wheelchair-altI've scoured the forums for solutions to this. The closest I could find is here: Sort artboards by name, but it doesn't seem to work in Illustrator CC. Also found this (How to sort objects alphabetically (inside of a layer)?), but it is layer-specific, not artboard. Thanks so much for any help!
I have never used the new ai tools available in Illustrator. However, in the background, they now eat up more ram than the program itself. In an era where there is a massive, expensive, ram shortage, users can not endlessly add more ram to their workstations just to feed features that we are not utilizing. I currently have 32 GB on my workstation. I have never had this issue before. Please allow users to disable this feature or at the very least, cut off any background processes if these tools are not actively being used.
Hi! I have been working with Adobe apps for years, and I think it is the time for Adobe Illustrator to change the “AI” file type to the new kind of type or extension. The reason is, the term “AI” is mostly related to the Artificial Intelligence technologies which are widely used today including Adobe apps today, but the problem is, we often found the misunderstanding since both “Artificial Intelligence” and “Adobe Illustrator” have similar abbreviations.I have the experience where I submitted my PDF file saved from Illustrator artwork to the client, and the client asks me, “What type of format you are using?” I used to say “AI” which refer to the Illustrator app, but now, everything changes. The client feel a lack of trust to me and tought that I am the using the instant AI (Artificial Intelligence) tool to make a vector artwork. It is hard for me to convince them that the artwork is pure build with my own work without AI online thing. You see, not all client understand the technical ter
