I create a normal AI document. Make my graphic and save it as an AI document. In the course of my work, I need to send something to my client and save the document save as .pdf. As if by magic, the AI_Document has now become a pdf document. I have lost hours of work this way if you don't notice. This stupid and absolutely not comprehensible behavior sucks. That's why I save the document: save as and don't just save the document. For this behavior it now urgently needs a patch! Immediately! Thx     {Renamed by MOD}

I just updated to the current version of illustrator. I am realizing some things are not working as they were in 30.2.1 until i get it figured out i wanted to install 30.2.1 alongside the newest version. When trying to reinstall 30.2.1 creative cloud only gives me the option to remove the current version and then go back to 30.2.1 which I ended up doing. how can i install two versions on the same computer at once?

Hello! I made a logo on Illustrator and it’s perfectly centered in the actual software. However, when I go to export it as a PNG file,  the logo goes to the right corner so when it exports and i open the png file, the logo is in the top right hand corner. Does anyone know how to fix it so it’s centered when I export it? Thank you! 

When applying a freeform gradient i can edit the color points but the fill turns invisible.I can choose from preset gradients, and can edit the linear and gradient ones, but as soon as i select freeform (points or lines doesn’t make a difference) the fill turns transparent. Illustrator 30.3 Windows

The blend tool has done a pretty good job of blending my ombre shape, but it colored outside the shape lines in a triangular pizza-like shape. How do I erase the pizza-like shape?

These images often still have white backgrounds or are not optimized for presentations. We place a customer's logo (AI, PDF, EPS, PNG, or JPEG) over the garment in Illustrator to create a proof. Hi everybody, I’ve got a file with lines with pattern brushes on like in this attachment. However, the file with these in has stopped allowing you to select the line. Therefor, you can’t select the line any more to turn the pattern brush off or to modify anchor points in the shape.In image 1 the line is selected and can be modified but in image two the line in the shape is not selected or selectable. It has just selected all the shapes within the pattern brush. I can’t select the line in that shape any more! I could just make the line again when I want to edit it but that would be annoying and waste time.Thanks for your help,Gareth 

I have two .ai docs and when copy/pasting graphics from one, the appearance drastically changes. I need them to stay as they are in the first image. Both are in RGB mode 

Every time I export print-ready PDF artwork files, no matter what settings I export as, I keep getting the above dialogue box saying the document’s transparency blend space doesn’t match the destination colour space.The artwork elements don’t make any difference, whether they are entirely vector based, incorporate images etc.  Document colour mode is always CMYK, and exporting with FOGRA39 colour profiles.Any online guides that I find to go back to the artwork to try and resolve keeps telling me to go to a menu link that seems to be non-existent or now defunct, and strugglling to find anything even on here, so overall the dialogue box actually gives me very little advice or direction on how to resolve this, and just stop it showing up - and I think it’s the primary reason why print files I’m exporting end up getting printed paler than expected.It would be nice if someone could tell me what I actually need to do or where to change settings just to stop it coming up all the time (and I d

When I tried to write Arabic words in Adobe Illustrator Web, the letters appeared from left to right, and there is no option for RTL 

I am currently using Adobe Photoshop 2026 (version 27.6) and Illustrator 2026 (version 30.4).These should be the latest versions available.!-->I am running Windows 11, and below are my system specifications:CPU: Intel® Xeon® W7-2475X Memory: 256GB RAM Storage: 4TB SSD GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4500 Ada Generation (updated to the latest driver version)With the above hardware configuration, there should absolutely be no performance issues when using Adobe products. However, with this exact setup, the GPU does not seem to function properly in Photoshop and Illustrator, resulting in extremely poor performance.I have already followed the official Adobe guidelines and enabled the GPU under Preferences > Performance, selecting the GPU accordingly, but there has been no improvement.I also contacted Adobe support previously. Their technician remotely accessed my computer to adjust the settings, but unfortunately, the issue was still not resolved.May I ask if there is any solution to this problem?

In Adobe Illustrator they added a color pick tool inside the color pallet dialog box which is great, so we can now pick a color from a different place on the screen… Only problem is that after a color has been selected the picker stays active, so anywhere you click it picks that color, even if you want to click on the OK button it will sample the grey of the button and overrides the color that was picked in the first place!!? Photoshop has been using this same type of color picker for years - it’s as if Illustrator doesn’t belong to Adobe and the developers started from scratch in learning how a color picker should work!?

Is there a way to export out ink separations at artboard size? I am trying to export ink separations through Ilustrator. Using the instructions from Adobe [https://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/printing-color-separations.html], I am able to create a .pd through the print dialog. The only issue is that even though we are setting the printer to Postscript, I still seem to be limited to the size limitations of the printer listed on the PPD. Setting the PPD to Generic Postscript eliminates the Custom Size option, and selecting Device Independent completely eliminates the option to create the separations. Any help on this or alternate methods? Mainly just need to export the white ink plate at size.

Quero habilitar no illustrator sempre mostrar os pontos de ancoragem, mesmo quando a face do objeto seja pequena. Estou trabalhando num projeto que preciso ficar dando zoom para aparecer esses pontos. Procurei em vários lugares e não encontrei onde posso fazer isso. Obrigado! 

Yesterday around 22:30 CET, my Illustrator 2025 (v29.8.9) on my MacBook M4 Max, Tahoe 26.5.2 Cloud Document suddenly corrupted while I was working. Most of my logos, packaging designs disappeared and the corrupted version synced automatically to Creative Cloud. I no longer have access to Version History in Illustrator. When I open the file in the browser (chrome), the file is bugging.. so no chance for a version history. The design had lots of effects and gradients. Lots of self-made logos.. Everything I was working for longer than a week is gone. I need to know if Adobe can restore the server-side revision of my Cloud Document from before 22:30. It’s a commercial work and my presentation for the file is this coming Friday. Please help me.

Since using Creative Cloud apps 2025 and 2026 for Windows like Illustrator after a few seconds, I can't manipulate objects on the canvas/artboard. This also happens in Photoshop, After Effects and InDesign. However, when I use Illustrator (Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, etc.), I have no issues. For example if I import an image in Illustrator, it will initially allow me to move, scale, etc. However, after a few seconds, I can’t select the object nor manipulate (scale, resize, etc.). If I close Illustrator and reopen, I am able to manipulate for a few seconds and then it stops allowing me to modify. This behavior persists in all the Adobe apps in Windows. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling various versions of the CC apps. But the same behavior occurs. Because I have a Mac, I switch over to my Mac. However, my main workstation is Windows-based.

The width and height are changing proportionately when not linked.  Is this a glitch?  Has anyone got a solution or had the sme issue?

i have illustrator 2024 but i need 2023 or previous for a plug in. when i press previous versions on the download page nothing comes up.

I work for a large corporate company and I’m linking to images in Sharepoint. When I close my .ai file and reopen it all the links are broken and I have to manually relink every image. There is a pop up messages that says it cannot find the plug-in to relink the images. I’m not sure where I can download this? They are also not automatically relinking after I link one. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello!  In the new update of the New illustrator cc 2020 versions, the Text Direction feature been removed, that supports the Arabic language! any idea's on how to activate this feature? Having said that it's still working in the 2019 version. Text Direction feature is quite helpful when writing in both English and Arabic text in the same paragraph.  

I am trying to add a logo onto the surface of a cap I tried the mockup tool, but that only works with vector artwork. I also tried the 3D classic route, where I make the logo into a symbol and map it onto the surface of the hat. But it looks awful. That’s the top image in this screenshot below. I also tried using envelope distort with a clipping path, which turned out very crisp, but it’s much more difficult to get the angles correct. I’d prefer to use the symbol mapping option, but I don’t know why it’s so pixelated.My document raster effects setting is 300 DPI and I have anti-aliasing checked.Any advice? 

Subject says it all. I use symbols OFTEN for tech pack creation.  When moving these symbols, all the elements break apart.  I have been using a 1+ year old version of Illustator that seems to be OK, but that version is no longer available to download in the CC options.  Please focus less on Ai, and fix these core bugs in your expensive software. 

Hi everyone,I am experiencing a critical bug with the Symbol feature in Illustrator and wanted to report it.My Workflow: I am designing packaging cards that share the exact same layout but have slightly different content. To do this efficiently, I use Symbols that contain multiple objects.The Issue: After placing a Symbol on the artboard, when I move it using the Selection Tool (the black arrow), the positional relationship of the multiple objects inside that Symbol completely breaks. The objects shift to unintended positions, destroying the layout. Additionally, this layout corruption cannot be undone using the Undo command (Cmd+Z / Ctrl+Z).Temporary Workarounds I Found:Replacing the Symbol: Select a different symbol temporarily, and then switch back to the original symbol. This restores the correct layout.Avoiding Symbols entirely: Stop using the Symbol feature and expand everything, which defeats the purpose of my workflow.Finding and correcting these broken layouts manually by eye
