UK English not working. Illustrator says ‘Colour’ is wrong. How do I fix this? UK English is set in settings. See attached screenshot. Mac OS Tahoe 26.5.1. M4 Mac Mini. Illustrator 30.6

Anyone have any idea what’s going on here? The candle graphic should show a glow. I’m no expert on gradients so if anyone could point me to the setting to fix this I’d appreciate the help.

Using Illustrator trial and finding select, ungroup, color/fill not working. I’ve tried everything: top nav, Shift Select, updated Image Trace, right nav. Seems the imported image when “selected” by clicking on it shows a red box - I can’t seem to click on the vectored image (maybe vectoring via Image Trace wasn’t completed??). I’m in a class (with no tec support) so any help would be much appreciated. 

Hi, I’ve just updated my Mac operating system (MacBook Pro M3 Pro) to macOS Tahoe 26.1, and right after doing so, I noticed that I can’t launch Adobe Illustrator. When I try to open the app, it slows down, freezes, and becomes completely unresponsive (I have to force quit it every time). I’ve read online that this issue might be caused by a conflict with Wacom tablet drivers, so I completely removed them (including all files located in the user library). I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Illustrator, but nothing changed and the problem persists. Interestingly, this issue only occurs with Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign seem to work correctly. I really need help with this. I have a project deadline and need to get Illustrator running again.

I have been having an issue with the Links Pulldown Menu flashing on and off when selected via Window/Links. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Mas OS Tahoe 26.5.1Illustrator 30.6

Time and time again, when I try to access my cloud data, I get an error message saying that the account I'm logged in with doesn't have access. I only have one account … one day it works, the next it doesn't, and so on. This is so incredibly annoying. What's causing this?  

Hello, I am using image trace on a black and white source image.  The “line work in the original image are the “positive” and the white background is “negative”.  After trace, If I select all paths and apply a fill, it fills the background leaving the line work white.  Basically a reverse of what I need.  I also tried tracing an inverted image and got the same result.  Is there a workaround or a way to get the results I need? 

Since updating Adobe Illustrator to version 30.6 two days ago, I’ve been experiencing serious issues when saving documents.Files are taking more than 30 minutes to save and in some cases Illustrator appears to hang indefinitely without completing the save. A lot of work has been lost as a result.My setup:Mac Studio: Apple M1 Max macOS Sonoma Illustrator 30.6 Files are being saved to an external hard drive but I have also tested saving locally with no luckI wasn’t experiencing this issue before updating to version 30.6 and macOS Sonoma appears to be listed as compatible with Illustrator 30.6.Has anyone else encountered this since installing version 30.6?

How do I make it so that the connecting parts are erased? I want it like the image I attached. I'm coming over from Procreate so I lowkey have no idea what I'm doing. I tried the Pathfinder but it either screws everything up, or tells me that they need to be filled. I also have tried making selection masks and erasing in those but it doesn't work. A lot of the things I tried also screw up the arrow paths. 

HiI am going round in circles on this one.Latest version of Illustrator via CCWindows 11 Home PremiumNVIDIA GEForce GPUTransform Tool within the toolbar scales shapes when “restrain” is UNCHECKED.Transform standalone Window does the same.Some limited success if you enter the dimensions manually in the bottom area of the Toolbar window.Have uninstalled / re-installed / uninstalled / re-installed - Cleaner Tool etc.Bounding Box is selected.Anyone any ideas of how to resolve - I need the transform tool to work correctly a lot in my line of work.Thanks in advance

How is it possible to completely destroy the Image Trace tool?! I work with illustrations created in .psd, convert them to bitmap and save them as .tif. The illustrations can be quite detailed and use halftone textures. I have a custom setting for these in illustrator when I use Image Trace to turn them into vector. In the latest couple of updates this has been completely broken and there’s no work around that I have found. PLEASE FIX IT NOW!! The price for Adobe CC is way to high for issues like this to be acceptable.See screenshots below of preferred outcome and compare to the outcome in the latest version of Illustrator.

Does anyone know how to turn off this notification for the Learn window in Illustrator? It pops up every single time I open Illustrator, multiple times a day regardless of when I last opened, and it's driving me crazy. It's not useful or interesting, but I can't find anyone that's successfully turned it off.

I looked through bunch of websites, and I think I have the right settings, but it’s still not working, so any help would be appreciated.Under File → Document Color Mode, it is set to CYMK Color.The file tab shows CMYK as expected:Then, I draw a black line with the following CMYK valueIllustrator draws a line as expected and using the Color Picker tool from PowerToy, it also shows correct value. After reading some documentation, it seems that TIFF and PDF file format supports CMYK, so first I exported in in TIFF format. As you can see, it’s slightly off. Then I exported to PDF file and did the same thing: Not only that, these two black are different either.I played with a few other settings, but nothing seems to be working. I wanted to share a solution that finally worked for me after spending far too much time trying to resolve this issue.On Windows 11, if you have both Illustrator 2026 and Illustrator Beta installed, right-clicking an .ai file and selecting Open with > Choose another app > Always use this app does not allow Illustrator 2026 to remain the default application.I tried all of the troubleshooting suggestions posted by Adobe, along with numerous recommendations I found online, but none of them resolved the problem.After a lot of searching, I finally found a solution that worked for me.Open an Administrator Command Prompt and run the following command:"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator 2026\Support Files\Contents\Windows\Illustrator.exe" /regserverAfter running the command, Illustrator 2026 was restored to the Open with menu, and double-clicking an .ai file once again opened the production version of Illustrator instead of Illustrator Beta.One minor issue remains: the Windows file

Scrubby Zoom works when I open up documents, then afterworking for a short while it just gives up and stops. When this happens I just get the draw zoom area feature and Illustrator zooms in to this area.Why does it stop working, and how can it be permantly fixed? Affinity Designer never has this issue, why can’t Illustrator just consistently work the way it’s meant to?! 

I have a simple line pattern that I am using to fill text.  How can I convert this all to individual vectors so it is recognized as individual components in an exported cutting (svg) file?  

I am not sure what I am asking for here, but maybe it is a merge? That is why I can’t look it up. I had AI created an image that I need to be a vector file to move into CAD software. When I use AI 2026 and do a n image trace and expand I get the object with 2 lines that are adjacent to each there. I laser cutter/engraver does’t like this. Can you please tell me how to merge these lines if that is possible, or delete one set of lines? For some reason, I can’t upload the .ai file here, so here is the original that you may be able to recreate my steps.

I'm having a problem in adobe illustrator with the Fraunces variable font. When the file is open and I change the variable font settings like optical weight, softness ect it works fine. When I reopen the file it asks me to replace the font and all my settings are lost. I'm doing logo designs so I've had to manually update the 4 variable settings across the 6 versions of a logo each time I open the file. This won't work for showing clients so I've just had to outline everything. Is there a way to fix this as I'd preffer the text to be ediable. I don't have this issue when editing the varaible settings in figma.  It says missing fonts but the variable font still works once the file is open but I have to make the changes again manually.

I often convert point type to area type. Frequently, when I do this, I cannot change the background color of the area type, which is the reason I’ve changed it to area type. I can’t figure out why. Often it’s when I’m given the file with text objects, but sometimes it happens when I add the text objects myself.Always when I start out with area type, there’s no problem. Any ideas? I’m using Mac OS 15.7.7 and Illustrator 2026. Thanks for any help. It’s driving me insane.

Hi All,I’ve been getting “Acrobat PDF file format is having difficulties. No error” all day.Restarted Illy, no go, restarted computer, no go. Deleted Illy prefs, restarted computer. Makes no difference.It was intermittent earlier today, now it’s every time I do a save, I have to do a save-as to get around it.Online research said delete prefs, I did, no difference.I see a lot of “Acrobat PDF file format is having difficulties. Bad parameter”  and variations, but none that say “No error” on the end…Frustrating rather than anything, at least I have a work around.I do have a lot of Adobe PDF Presets in Save Adobe Pdf dialog, but I have had those for a long time, and I’m currently only using the default [Illustrator Default].I did update to 30.6 24 days ago, no issues in the preceding 23...Any ideas?Thanks, Em.“difficulties. I have multiple displays connected in laptop. Working with illustrator, it becomes a pain when I move and dock the illustrator to a second monitor and vice versa. The side panels closes (minimize) automatically and I have to re-expand them all the time. Yes there is a resolution different in both the monitors but still are above FHD resolution.Is there any way to fix, lock and have them be opened permanently?

I would like to create highlights that looks like the ones in the sample image.I've tried creating this highlight using two paths that have been offset with then the top one subtracted from the bottom one. That produces a highlight that runs the entire height of the letter.I've also tried applying an art brush to a line segment, but getting the taper in the right place is challenging.
