Maybe is too obvious, but I'm missing to reorder a element, by dragging it to a particular layer, or group of layers in the panel.

How come use brush pattern make a curve pattern.  It will have a one pixel white line inside. So, every one repeat also have one line. It is very trouble. 

 Hey everyone,I am asking out of curiousity. When I have a closed pen path and attempt to replace the spline with a blended object. The pen path is not completely closed. Just wondering how to completely close the path w a blended image/ object. If not, is there a reason?  cheersNate

Is there any way to add text boxes using actions in Illustrator? I would like to add 6 separate text boxes as the last part of an action I have been working on, but I haven't been able to figure out how to add them. If it is possible, would it also be possible to make it show up with specific text like 'Figure 1'?   <Title renamed by moderator>

So, I don't know why, but since Illustrator 30.x I'm not able to just natively click on an artboard and drag or resize it.  And therefore to activate the artboard-tool by itself by just clicking on an artboard.  Now I'm forced to activate and use the artboard-tool first by clicking on it.  If I wanna move an artboard I just want to click on its name (like before) and do it. That's just super annoying now and does not bring any benefit to me?! Can't find a way to change it in preferences - would be nice being able to bring back the former behaviour.And: Now we can even LOCK an artboard (which is nice btw :)), so anyone who is annoyed by accidentally moving an artboard can lock it. There's no need to lock artboard-movement in general in my opinion.

Hello,When I open Illustrator it gets stuck and it becomes unresponding, not opening until multiple tries. When I manage to open it, working with files is nearly impossible, with constant crashes when saving and/or opening. Attached is a crash report in case it's useful to help debug the problem.Thank you!

This has happned a few times now so need to vent - if a user on mac erroneously opens a docuement that is already open and being edited and not yet saved, the document somtimes reverts back to the original saved file without a prompt. I have lost hours of work. I wanted to report this bug on adobe feedbacl page but typical of adobe, the link is broken.

Hi, I was working something for school and for some reason, the illustrator file  opens up as a PDF, and when I try to open a page, it just shows a message that there is a dict issue and will not open the file. IS there any way to recover the file at this point? Hi everyone, I created a JavaScript script that allows me to automate part of my job (creating packaging layouts). In this script, I resize the working sheet and then calculate the required bleed on the top, bottom, left, and right sides to have a A3 page format I would like to apply these bleed values automatically, but I don’t think this is currently possible. At the moment, I have to write them down and then copy and paste them into the document settings manually. Do you know if I’m mistaken and if there is a way to automate this, or is this a feature that might be added in the future? Thank you in advance for your feedback.   <Title renamed by MOD>    

So I think something buggy has happened to my Menu commands and Keyboard shortcuts. The Offset Path has ctrl+F4 as a shortcut, not ideel as everythings closes when I want to use it, and it does not appear as an option in my Keyboard shortcuts menu to change it.

I have been using Illustrator for ages, and for some reason I can't figure out how to make the whites fully transparent in Multiply mode. I scanned line art through Photoshop, used the levels there to make the whites 100%, but after adding the art into Illustrator and setting the layer mode to multiply, it's still making the colors beneath darker. The whites aren't fully transparent. I have tried saving the line art in a variety of formats (.jpg, .png, .tiff) to see if I could make any difference, but no luck. As I say, I am not new to illustrator, I have been using this technique for 20 years (yes, I am that old!), and I have dim memories of this occurring occasionally, but I thought I had previously fixed it by changing the format of the line art. Now I am at a loss. Any helpful suggestions are welcome. Thanks! 

Of course Illustrator randomly chashes when I am working on a file. I just lost a half a day of work. Unbelievable. No recovery file were made.is there any other way I can get my file back??

All of a sudden I can't see to change the color or stroke design (dashed).  What have I done?

I am new to Illustrator and using version 2026. I am following a "Get started with Illustrator" tutorial which appears to have 10 modules.  The first one titled "Get to know Illustrator" explained where to get the sample files.  The second module "Draw precise and freeform shapes with full control", just jumps in on a document which wasn't included in the first modules download.  Can somone help me figure out where I can get the sample files for all 10 of the modules for this tutorial? Thank you

At the bottom of this escutcheon, I tried to join two paths.   They ended up overlapping each other.  How do I cut off those little pieces? (They are at the pointy end of the sheild) I tried a clipping mask, but that did not work.  Should I just go back and redraw it?  Of course I didn't notice it until I went to turn it into a pdf!

I want to have a perpendicular cut of black stroke of this portion in yellow color. I separated stroke & fill & used "Perpendicular Line Tool" of AG & native Pathfinder tool. But it did not work. How to fix this? File was uploaded as well.Perpendicular Cut

I need to be able to send my vectorized .pdf file to clients.  I want them to be able to have a vectorized file (since the quality is so clear), but not be able to open the document in Adobe Illustrator and be able to see all my paths, layers, etc. Recently I opened another company's .pdf (that was emailed to me) in adobe illustrator to see if I could edit it, and noticed it was a Linked File. I am trying to save my own file as a Linked File, and it is not working.  When I reopen the document in Illustrator, my work is embedded, and once again my paths are able to be seen.         These are my steps:               1. File/Save As/.pdf /.everything unclicked/Save PDF                                  2. File/New Document/Create/File/Place/click on previously saved .pdf/check the 'Link' box/                 Place. As you can see, it is a Linked File                                   3. File/Save As/new.pdf/save/uncheck everything/Save PDF             4. Open the saved .pdf in Adobe and no

New Illustrator 30.0 now scales artwork when the artboard gets re-sized. I never gave Adobe permission to add this annoying feature. 🙂 How does one turn this off? So that I can resize artboards like the old days with it scaling my artwork.  

For quire some time this approach was working perfectly in our plugin: sAIFont->GetPostScriptFontName(fontKey, postScriptName, 1024); But recently in 29-30 version of Illustrastor it does not return anything when the fonts are missing. The font names are still returned correctly when the fonts are installed in the system. But if they are not, this returns an empty string and the result is an error. Other similar methods from AIFont are also not working correctly. I have also tested it in the recent Illustrator Beta, with the same result. Can someone explain what is happening and why this was somehow changed and how should it work now?

I have included a screenshot off my screen.  I can't reset and save the preferences.  I have completely shut illustrator down (and shutdown the computer).  I have checked my screen resolution and it is at the correct setting.  It just started happening...grrrr.
