Since LrC 15 I get this popup: Smart previews have been the single thing that kept Lightroom Classic moving decently for me, even when my Macbook was brand new, even when I made super powerful workstations before that. Lightroom Classic has always been slow loading original images, no matter what I did, except for enabling the use of smart previews.Now the app says I should disable the only thing making usable for someone editing thousands of pics at a time. Now I have to go through several steps when I need one of the new models (because working with smart previews does indeed lower the output quality), then go through several steps again to enable the use of smart previews, when the only logical thing to do was probably a single line of code saying “if CurrentPic.source == SmartPreview {CurrentPic.source == Original} when using one of the features needing originals.Please fix this simple yet horrendous user experience bug asap.

I have been using LR for many years and have had no problem with dragging images in the film strip to reorder them. Recently, this has become very erratic. Sometimes it works okay other times, even though the cursor shows I have picked up the image, when I drop it it either just returns to the original place, drops somewhere random or even sometimes another image will randomly change place.I have tried shutting down and restarting both my laptop and LR but the problem persists. I have the order set to, ‘custom’. I have also collapsed and reopened the filmstrip. The problem also occurs in the library module using grid view.What once took my 5 minutes is now taking hours, it’s very frustrating. Any help would be great.Dave

In moving to a new MacBook Air I lost a year’s worth of photos even though backed up with both Backblaze and an external drive.  That is history.  How can I create photos from my smart previews on this new computer.  It tells me the MacBook Air won’t do it.   All I can come up with is taking a screenshot..  Thanks for any help.

I had to reinstall lightroom classic on my old Mac. Adobe support used remote Desktop to install it for me. Version 13.0. Unfortunately all of my catalogs are 13.3 and not compatible with this older version.Any idea how to update this version? The latest versions from creative cloud are not compatible with this machine.Thanks

Every time i try and edit photos in develop mode it keeps saying some masking models are being downloaded. ive reinstalled the app on my laptop and it still says the same thing. i cant use any filters from classic.

Description of IssueWhen I send a photo from Lightroom Classic to Topaz Photo and return it to Lightroom, Lightroom Classic sometimes shows this warning:“Topaz Photo either failed to start or did not finish successfully. Exit code: 3221225477”However, the image is usually processed correctly and returned to Lightroom with the edits applied.The issue appears to be intermittent. It happens when Topaz Photo is using the GPU. I have run LRC on my Windows 10 PC for ages without a problem. Suddenly it refuses to open. If I click on the App, the wheel spins breifly, disappears and LRC doesn't open. I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the LRC App but LRC still will not open. The App version is up to date (V 13.3)

Lightroom Classic won't open, writes that my catalog is corrupt, cannot be used until it is repaired, and then nothing happens. *updated title by Community Manager for more clarity.

Hi,I’ve been dealing with an issue that Lightroom uses too much memory when batch exporting photos, resulting in a memory usage of up to 60GB on a 48GB MacBook Pro.This causes a significant slowdown, and a very high system total I/O written count which wears down my SSD. The issue does not show up and Lightroom stays between 20-30GB of memory if I manually export every photo one by one. My question: Is there a way to stop Lightroom from trying to export multiple photos in the queue at the same time? It’s not even faster because the system is constantly waiting to get data in/out of swap, so I’d be significantly better off without parallel exports.Lightroom 15.2.1MacOS 15.7.3MacBook Pro M3 Max (16”), 48GB ram

This is only my second time trying to use this since purchasing and it won't allow itself to create a temporary folder for some reason.

Lightroom version 14.1 is not working.  (It converted my catalog and then said it's corrups and can't be fixed. ) I tried reverting back to an older verions, but Lightroom insistes that my catalog be converted and that I update to the latest version.  How can I continue to use the older version?-DeniseWin 10

I am using LrC 15.2.1 on a 16" M2 Pro 12/19 Macbook Pro 32gb/1tb, MacOS 15.7.5 and it is connected to a larger external display.  Been like this for the last 3+ years since I bought this computer.  I use LrC everyday and I have it on my big display.  Strangely, today when I use it though it has started doing something I have never seen it do in the 15 years I have been using LrC.  On my big display is the normal LrC window with the grid, but on my laptop display there is the loupe window.  If I explicitly click on the grid icon at the top of the loupe view to try and get rid of the window on the laptop the result is that on the big display it changes to the loupe view (but still the main LrC window) and on the laptop it changes to a grid display.I can't figure out how this got started.  Did I do something, maybe accidentally typed a shortcut?  How do I get rid of this extra window on the laptop?  I have tried exiting LrC and restarting, but the same thing.  I rebooted, but still the sa

Uploading photos and getting attached.  Import is grey and everything freezes?

Hello- I have  the latest vrsion on LRC, never had problems with exporting to a designated folder on my hard-drive  (Windows 11),  seems like that changed today.   My export box opens and when I scroll down it seems to keep trying to save on the CD/DVD option (I don't even have a CD or DVD drive),  I now have to select the Hard-drive option everytime.  Is anyone having the same issue?     Is that a new bug in this app?  Thanks  -Terry

Please let me know what I can adjust in my laptop that might be causing it to slow down and flickering, especially when I work with masks. I updated to 15.2.1 but it was so glitchy I had to go back to 15.1.1. Ability to turn off culling.   When searching for peoples faces on extremely large catalogues, Lightroom classic just crashes.

Hello. Why can't I use the AI Remover feature in Lightroom Classic? I get an error message saying "Unfortunately, this feature is not available in your region at this time". (I'm in Germany). There is no such problem in Photoshop and the function works, but I need it specifically in Lightroom Classic. Please help me.

Using the reflection removal tool in Lightroom or Photoshop fails on my MacBook Pro. The result I get are below in image. I presume this is a GPU issue and probably due to the MacBook age and not powerful. what MacBooks are compatible or Mac Studio with the Adobe Lightroom/Photoshop reflection tool? 

Hi there!I am curious about what others are doing with their mobile phone photos. Do you bring them into Lightroom along with your photos from other cameras? Do you feel the catalogue gets too large and clunky?Here’s some context on why I’m asking. This is my current workflow:Currently I am using Lightroom Classic on my desktop computer. All my camera raw photos are in this catalogue.  I tag, edit, and organize in Lightroom. I Publish JPG copies to my Synology NAS using Jeffery Fields Folder Publisher plugin. I use Synology Photos to then share these jpg copies with family and friends automatically by using shared conditional albums. I could see a benefit of having my mobile photos and videos in Lightroom so I can tag them all the same, using my Lightroom tag structure. This was photos from my Z6ii and videos from my iPhone could all share the same tagging structure and publish to the correct albums on the NAS. My main worry is bloating the catalogue though, so I’m curious about what o

On my iphone 15 in my Lightroom mobile app I have a folder called”Recents” which totals 8,952 images.I need to make space for a wedding tomorrow in order to take videos and for the life of me despite trying different methods described I cannot delete them as they are taking up 36GB of data.I’m at my wits end in trying to free up this space, any ideas would greatly be appreciated.Thank you in advance for any help. Cheers Neil McAllister

 Import a large number of images (in my case 3639 images and about 6 short videos).  Create Collections  Spend about 1-2 hours dragging images to various collections  Eventually and drag and drop operation from library into a collection no longer works, just get a standard arrow cursor and no image by cursor. Exit LcR Bring up Task Manager and notice LcR is still running and using memory (in my case 65GB). In Task Manager watch the memory usage of LcR executable decrease … for 65GB this took about 5 minutes or so … once memory usage reaches zero the executable will terminate.Since I have 256GB of RAM there should be no issue with using 65GB in LcR.  This appears to be a bug that I can repeat when loading MANY images that consume more than 64GB RAM.My System Specs:OS: Windows 11 (10.0.26200)CPU: AMD 9975WXMotherboard: ASUS Pro WS WRX90E-SAGE SERAM: 256GB ECC RDIMM Vcolor QLC (certified)GPU: two nVidia 5090 32GB VRAM (drivers  591.86 Studio)Local Storage: two Samsung 9100 Gen5 4TB NVMe M

Hello Adobe Community,I have been using Lightroom Classic for the past two years and have learned a great deal from it. I am currently working on a project where I need to batch edit metadata for a large number of photos (over 5,000 images).Specifically, I want to apply a sequential numbering system to the following metadata fields:Title Copy Name CaptionMy requirement is to assign values in a sequence format, for example:Edit-1, Edit-2, Edit-3, and so on, similar to how file renaming sequences work in Lightroom.The goal is to automatically generate and apply this sequence across all selected photos without manual input for each image.I would like to know:Is it possible to create a sequential numbering system directly within Lightroom Classic for any of these metadata fields (Title, Copy Name, or Caption)? If not, is there any recommended workflow, plugin, or workaround that can achieve this efficiently?Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, especially for handling this at scale.

In LR 15.2, the shortcuts for Maps’ Show Filter Bar don’t work German (DE) and French (FR). In German, “<” works on Mac but not Windows. In French, “$” doesn’t work on either Mac or Windows.
