OK so I have been trying to install Lightroom Classic. And no matter what it is just not working. Creative cloud or lightroom. The installer shows in the task manager every time I run it, but nothing happens, no error message or anything. The mouse just loooks busy for a second, then nothing. I did everything they said, shut off protection, restarted, installed c++ libraries, ran as admin, sat on my head... It worked on my computer fine till I reinstalled windows. I am pretty sure that I probably have stopped a service that it might need to install, although I can't figure out which one. Any ideas would help.
I've made a complete mess of my LrC catalog. Unknowingly I've must have corrupted it since, on trying to open it, I get the message that it is unwritable. Unfortunately I hadn't made backups as I went along so I can't access the files in that catalog. I had to make a completely new catalog and start from scratch (fortunately I now backup religiously). Is there some way to repair the older catalog?
What is the proceedure to revert from LRC V15.1 to an earlier version?
Here's my situation: Just bought a new macbook (to replace an old iMac) and successfully restored from old iMac to new MacBook. In both cases, I have two external drives (my drive naming convention is the brandname followed by the date I put it into service). I'm running Lightroom Classic 15.11 on a MacBook Pro running Sequoia 15.7.3. WDELEMENTS11302024 is my backup drive, and I use TimeMachine as my backup softwareLACIE12212018 is where I store ALL my photosThe internal drive (MACINTOSH HD) is where all my software is, as well as where my catalog file (and all my plug-ins, etc.) are stored. That's not going anywhere. LACIE12212018 is (can you tell by the date) old, slow, and I can just tell it's not long for this world. I'm not getting any errors/problems, but I can just tell and I want to deal with this BEFORE it becomes a problem. I have about 2.5 TB of photos on this drive. New external hard drive arrives this weekend. Let
I took some shots with a Wingscape bird camera. I imported them into Lightroom Classic. It says "Lightroom has encountered problems with this file". They are displayed in very low resolution and cannot be edited. They import into Photoshop fine. If I save one in photoshop as a jpg it is uneditable in LR. If I save it as a PNG from Photoshop it works fine in Lightroom. The jpgs display without issue in Windows and in DXO Photolab 6. The JPG to PNG solution works but I end up with much larger files. A sample file can be found at https://paullantz.smugmug.com/Wingscape-sampleThanks for your help and suggestions.
I don't know if maybe I have something saved wrong, but every time I update Lightroom Classic, the language gets reset. I've been studying Japanese, so I thought I'd try setting Lightroom to Japanese, too. In Windows 10 Lightroom Classic, I went to Edit > Preferences and changed the language to Japanese. However, every time Creative Cloud Desktop updates Lightroom Classic, the lanuage preference gets reset to English. Is there a way to make it save so I don't have to change it back every time Lighroom has an update? This has been happening for over a year. I tried providing feedback to Lightroom many times via Help > Provide Feedback..., but nothing has changed. I can't understand why the rest of my preferences are respected, but the language is reset. In case it's relevant:* My OS language is set to English. (I haven't taken the plunge there yet.)* I primarily use two catalouges, and both were created while using Lightroom in English before I started using Lightroo
I've connected my Canon EOS 6D Mark II to Lightroom Classic via Tethered Capture mode. Everything seems to be working fine i.e. I see view from my camera in Lightroom GUI, trigger is responsive, I can take a picture with GUI trigger etc. The only issue is that pictures are neither saved in specified local folder nor in collection. They are only saved in the Camera's SD card. The same functionality works in EOS Utility software then something must be wrong with Lightroom Classic itself. Would you be able to help please?

Im relatively new to Lightroom, familiar with most features, but when I tried Lens Blur, it doesn't work on any of my photos. I shoot in RAW with a Canon R5 mk I. It's supposed to be possible to adjust the feathering of a linear gradient by hovering the mouse over the outer line until the cursor changes to a double-headed arrow. That never happens on either of my computers. Instead, the cursor turns to the hand symbol, and moving it makes the entire gradient larger or smaller. I doubt this has anything to do with the specific computer, as I get the identical performance on a Dell laptop and a Lenovo P3 "Tiny" desktop. Anyone know how to get this to work?

I'm using a laptop with windows 11. I took a series of 9 image of the one subject - on a tripod the only change was the focus point. The lightroom classic wouldn't stack the nine images, it seem to leave some out. ie the front of the photo was badly out of focus. The image was taken with a Macro lens with a F2.0Any clues as to why this is not working.
Thank you for releasing this update. Lightroom classic 15.1.1 is snappy again. AI tools in develop mode are now 3-4 times faster. Wow!
Hello Adobe Team! RE: Tethering Issue: I have the lastest Canon R5 mark2 Firmware and Lastest Lightroom Classic version. As soon as I upgraded to Tahoe several days, I cannot tether any more. I have spent several hours (two separate times) screen sharing with Adobe Support to no avail.
2 parts - 1. Is there a way to "syncronize" (match) the LR Catalog with the Folder. Catalog has different number of images vs the folder -- I believe I have "deleted" from the catalog but they were not removed from the folder. 2. I have spent a serious amount of time marking photos in a catalog - rejected, picked, unmarked. I can in Grid View - Edit - Select by Flag - Rejected resulting in those rejected files appearing in the Catalog. When I select Grid View - Photo - Delete Rejected Photos - I have one option - DELETE FROM CATALOG - 165 files are marked - I want them gone from the Disk too. (In Folder - Grid View- I show no files selected by flags. So my work is for naught. (I chose another catalog - Grid View - Select by File Type - chose RAW File extension -, I then went to folders - same folder as the catalog and those Raw files show as selected. I then was able to Delete from Disk and Catal
LrC 15.1 on macOS Tahoe 26.2Catalog contains around 98.000 RAW filesLightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata is over 300 GB large (containing all Standard Previews of all RAW files, but almost no 1:1 previews)Trying to reduce the file size from 300 GB to less than 200 GB by discarding the Standard Previews *and* the 1:1 Previews from almost half of my catalog's RAW files (the oldest ones) by using the command in the Library menu item (Library > Previews > Discard Standard and 1:1 Previews...) does not change the Lightroom Catalog Previews.lrdata size in any way. The file is still over 300 GB.Restarting LrC nor Restarting the iMac helps. The command seems to run fine, showing the progress bar in the upper left corner of the UI window of LrC, but fails to shrink the file size of the previews file. Thus no previews were discarded and the command does not function as it should.
I am observing this 1. Set up a smart collection "Is Edited Today"2. Change Develop Settings or change metadata for 1 image (E.g Reset Settings)3. I purposefully wait 10 seconds4. On demand with my own plugin I find the image edit at step 2 and my code auto writes to the image a custom metadata via catalog:withPrivateWriteAccessDo()So the image IS touched by the plug-in but privately, not part of the undo stack.5. Undo Result: The photo no longer appears as Edited Today smart collection BUT at step 3 it was touched by the plug-in, privately. Here are the detailed steps:1. Photo before ResetlastEditTime = 790266710.879182. I reset it3. I update the custom metadatalastEditTime = 790702916.123294. I undo lastEditTime = 790266710.87918 IMHOLrC should be smarter than this and keep the lastEditTime IF it is more recent than the lastEditTime of step that was undone. There might have been changes not part of the Udno stack, but they still happened.
Updates to Lightroom Classic have been released. The new version numbers are 14.5.2 and 15.1.1. These releases include a small number of security fixes as well as a couple of bug fixes from the 15.1 release.Of note, these forum threads have been updated to "Fixed." https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-quot-unknown-error-quot-for-denoise-and-distraction-removal-after-lrcat-data-file-is-deleted-lr/idi-p/15660832 https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-classic-bugs/p-lightroom-has-encountered-problems-reading-this-photo-after-upgrade-to-v15/idi-p/15613557
When in LrC Develop module, Soft Proofing, there is a setting on the Toolbar for "before:". The first three choices are "Before State", "Current State", and "Original Photo". These are to set the view shown in the "Before" panel. I see no difference between "Before State" and "Original Photo", and "Current State" seems to identical to "Proof Preview". I have searched Adobe LrC documentation and find nothing about this, and very little about soft proofing in general. Where can I find documentation about this?
I updated my macbook pro to Tahoe 26.1 and masking is no longer working in Lightroom Classic 15.1. I've done suggested work arounds to no avail. I have 16GB and Metal 4 with Apple M1 Pro chip. Will Lightroom Classic be updated soon or is there something else I need to do? This is very frustrating!
