I’m trying to really dial in my workflow around transcriptions and captions in Premiere Pro, and I’ve run into a bunch of questions. Some of these are pretty granular, so I’m hoping to get clarity on best practices and what’s actually possible vs. not.⸻1. Transcription Behavior with Multiple Audio Sources (Lav + Scratch Audio)In scenarios where I have: • Camera video with scratch audio • Separate lav audio layered underneath How does Premiere decide what transcription to display? • If both clips are transcribed and overlap in a sequence, what determines which transcript is shown in the Text panel? • Is it based on track priority? Clip selection? Playhead focus? • Do I need to solo a track to isolate a specific transcript? • Is there any predictable logic to this, or is it somewhat arbitrary?⸻2. Fine-Grained Control Over Transcription Timing (Word-Level Precision)I want to get extremely precise with transcription timing — down to individual words and
I thought it couldn't get worse than the incompetent disaster of 2025, but then v26 came out. Is this it now? Are the apps just going to be buggy, slow and unreliable forever?
I’m encountering an issue where every time I open a project in Premiere Pro, it displays the message “Relinking Media.” This problem persists regardless of whether I change the project’s path or name. I’ve tried closing the project and reopening it directly, but the issue persists. Occasionally, I need to re-open the project to make corrections for a client, and I have to wait for the “Media loading” notification to clear before I can export the rushes without encountering the same issue. I believe this is not a deliberate action by the PR team, and I would appreciate any explanation or solution to this problem.
Hello,I've been having a problem with the Frame.io extension since today. It simply doesn't work anymore, and it's impossible to connect to the service via Premiere or After Effect. An error message appears asking you to reload the extension and restart it.Despite this, it doesn't work.Am I the only one? Thanks in advance for your help
It's exactly as just described
So basically I have a film I'm editing (a big production). I have each part of the film in a 20 min sequence. It crashed at one point I opened that section up via auto save. I dragged that project into the Production. It repopulated all the footage in that one project. After using it for a bit i noticed it’s very slow and occasionally i will get a warning of low memory which will sometimes crash.I thought if i repopulated the production with footage from the previous project it will match frame back to the old location but it doesn’t. Before i re cut that whole section in a new sequence is there anything else i can do. Additionally I had a huge problem with my project on dropbox the project started to disappear. I moved it off dropbox. But now that section is always asking for a mask? I don’t have it and i’m pretty sure the problem was there before this happened.Info-I’m on a Mac Studio M4 Max, 36 GB, 2025.I’m using Adobe Premiere 26.01 (Official version)I’m using proxies exported fro
I would like to shoot a 4k video, zoom in to make it full HD but then use auto reframe (or other means) on premier pro to follow the object. Auto reframe appears to work well when going from 16:9 to other aspect ratios but not when keeping the same ratio and zooming in. Is this even possible?
I’m trying to make an effect of a sound wave. There’s a guy in the center of the screen and when he yells, there are air-distorting waves coming out of his mouth at a high frequency. Something like this:To create this effect I’m using a combination of animated stroked circles (graphics layer) of a black color and a compound blur targeted on this graphics layer. The problem I need to fix is make the strokes feathered. I tried the compound blur settings (there’s a feather), 2 rounded crops on a black solid (one - inverted, both feathered, blur to blur the stroke. Nothing makes the circles have soft edges. Any ideas? Maybe a different technique? No AE. NO AE.
Hey all! I'm experiencing a really weird quirk in Premiere that I think might be a bug? Looking to see if others can confirm it as a bug, or show me a fix. For 4 years, I've used a keybind system in Premiere that incorporates custom mapping for the thumb-side buttons of my mouse. I currently use a Logitech Mx Master 4, but this has worked across various mice and mapping softwares. Using the "Logi Options+" software, I have ( = ) bound to the front thumb-side button, and ( - ) bound to the back thumb-side button (shown in an attached image). I use these to zoom in ( = ), and out ( - ). I also use modifier keys with these buttons for different commands. These modifier mappings are as such: ( Cmmd ) + ( = ) : Step Back 1 Frame*( Cmmd ) + ( - ) : Step Forward 1 Frame*( Cmmd ) + ( Shift ) + ( = ) : Step Back 5 Frames( Cmmd ) + ( Shift ) + ( - ) : Step Forward 5 Frames( Option ) + ( = ) : Nudge Clip Selection Left 1 Frame( Option ) + ( - ) : Nudge Clip Selection Right 1 Frame( Option ) + (S
Geting this strange bar on the side of my preview and export. I'm running windows 11, on premiere version 26.0.2 System Model Z690 AERO G DDR4Processor 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13400F, 2500 Mhz, 10 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 96.0 GBGPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Disappears when I disable my burn layer - which is just a simple curve adjustmentWhy does this happen and how can I avoid it?
While I can blame some of the tardiness on my NAS, it is still very odd that I can open an After Effects projects with hundreds of files and everything snaps right open - yet Premiere takes so long. If the files' paths have not changed and no relinking is required, what exactly is Premiere doing? Why is it doing anything? It reminds me of sending files to AME to create proxies. If you select a bunch of files and choose "Create Proxies", Premiere slllllowwlllyyy sends them over one at a time to AME. What exactly takes so long? It's just a list of known files combined with a general instruction to apply the same preset. It feels like the code is insisting to do one file at a time when sending over a list all in one would be so much more efficient. If I grab a bunch of files in the finder and drag and drop them into AME then - ZIP! - they get added right away.I think Premiere is forcibly relinking files because some code in there has to verify the location of EACH and EVERY file, one at a
After writing this ENTIRE letter for 25 minutes, it DISAPPEARS !!!!“Subscribing” did not help. Also, adobe has done a good job of making writing to forum very difficult.Too much search and click.Doing NOTHING, the sound disappears from my project panel.Maybe i was resizing the panel, who knows, but not pressing all sorts of buttons.I’ve looked at every button i can find, and see nothing I might have done.Restart PPro does not help.Sound for EVERYTHING else if fine, like the source panel or everything else on this computer. You can see that “audio clip mixer” recognizes the sound, but that lower right monitor does not.Is that supposed to show project sound? There must be a simple fix?I noticed a custom preset in the “essential sound” panel. I NEVER use presets so why does it say “custom”? Each clip shows custom, but when I “select all” clips it says “default”? No sound changes have been applied yet.Ok look below. I added a screen shot that shows a sound track anomaly:good track:
It's annoying that every time I create a new text box in Premiere Pro, it reverts to the font Myriad Pro with a font size of 100. I never use Myriad Pro or a font size of 100. Why can't it default to the last font I was using?
Im debating to add a second GPU to my computer system to help process files for encoding and decoding 8K video files. I currently have a RTX 5070 GPU. Im thinking of adding a new Intel Arc B70 GPU for a second card. Now AI responses suggested to select the Intel card for decoding, and use the Nvidia card for encoding. Is it possible to select both cards for both encoding and decoding, to share the workload, being they are different brands of GPUs? I see under “Preferences- Media” that for decoding, it selected both my AMD on chip GPU as well as my Nvidia card. Could I technically add the Intel and get all 3 branded GPUs to decode my videos? Or would it be better to select only one device for decoding (like the Intel B70?) I see for encoding it does not allow a selected device for that. Not sure how that works with different GPUs installed. Or does it share the workload with all GPUs for encoding?
So basically everything is fine until I export my video. Tried various methods but still getting the same error over and over. I am using the latest adobe premier software. My video format is mp4. There are no effects on the audio except the fade out at the end and nothing else.
I went to go nudge an audio clip in the timeline by one frame using alt+left/right yesterday (like I always do) and it is no longer working. The keyboard shortcut for nudging a clip by five frames left and right still works, and nudging up and down still works, but not nudging one frame left or one frame right. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling premiere, resetting the original settings, etc. and nothing works. Is this a user error or a bug?
Hey all,I’m trying to find a reliable way to lay clips from a bin into a sequence in strict chronological order, and I’m running into inconsistent behavior. My typical workflow: • In the Project panel, I switch to List View • Sort by Creation Date (ascending or descending depending on preference) • Select all clips in the bin • Either: • Right-click → New Sequence from Clip, or • Drag them into an existing timeline The issue:Sometimes this works perfectly, but other times: • A random clip gets placed at the very beginning or near the start • Or the entire sequence comes in partially out of order • Occasionally it even seems reversed I’ve tried: • Clicking the first clip vs. last clip before creating the sequence • Dragging from top vs. bottom of the sorted list • Using both ascending and descending sort orders None of this produces consistent results. What I’m trying to achieve:A dependable way to take a bin of cli
When playing video on the timeline, the playhead won’t move, or skips every few seconds. Resetting to saved layout hasn’t worked. Undocking the timeline panel works, but docking the panel again causes the issue to come back. This has been occurring since Premiere version 25.6.3 until the current release, 26.0.2
How do I disable GPU acceleration here? Premiere won't let me switch to "software only".
Hi, I have some proxy files created by Atomos Shogun recorders. They are created as 720p HEVC with .MOV extensions. When I try to bring these into Premiere, the Import progress bar sticks at the very beginning and will not import. This happens on v24, v25, v26, and beta.I can open the file just fine in QT Player and Avid Media Composer and Resolve import the files just fine.I’ve tried re-installing Premiere. I’ve cleared my media cache and reset my Premiere preferences. Here’s where it gets interesting. This issue is on 2 of my machines; but the files import just fine on many other machines I’ve tried. All Mac systems. MacOS 14 and MacOS 15.And then to make things more interesting, if I simply change the extension to .mp4, the files import successfully on the problematic systems. There must be a corrupt setting or codec somewhere but I’m at a loss of where to look. In my /Users/Shared folder, I have a AdobeInstalledCodecsTier2 folder that contains mc_enc_hevc.framework and mc_dec_hevc.fr
I have project that I am exporting. It is one long video file.I am just adding subtitles and captions. It works fine in PrePro 26 AND 25.I can export via the PrePro Export tab and all works fine. However when I export via MediaEncoder the video file says “offline”. It is not offline. It all works fine in PrePro.I have tried linking.. relinking.. taking offline.. putting back online.. moving the fine.. renaming.all to no avail. It all works fine in PrePro, just not when exporting to Media Encoder. Any ideas?
I have uninstalled and reinstalled, but I cannot get Adobe Premiere to open up on my computer.
For some reason, the Project panel for one of my Premiere projects has completely vanished and I can’t find it anywhere. The Project panel tabs for other projects open and display as usual, but not the panel for this particular project. So, now I can’t access the bins, clips, compositions and other elements that are contained in this project. What happened and how should I restore this project’s panel?
I would like to have Premier Pro Version 23.5.0 (build 56) for a workstation that needed to be formattedThanks and Regards,Savvas
In the version 26 is there a way within Premiere to apply a shape mask to an image and then add a stroke to it? (See the attached image) I have tried adding a mask to the image and then adding the stroke effect to the image with zero joy. I then tried to add the stroke effect to the image without a mask. Then had to google why it doesn’t show up on that either. Turns out you have to apply a Pre transform and re-scale it. Which is possibly the most unituitive way to go about out it. So then I tried to add the mask back in and bam, no stroke. I gave up and did it in Photoshop instead. But it would be good to see if someone knows how to do this seeminlgy rudimentary task within photoshop. Thanks
