I am using spell check in RoboHelp 2020 in a large project with over 400 topics. I have Spell Check set to Look in All Topics. When I select Run Spell Check, RoboHelp opens every topic, checks spelling, and stops whether there is a misspelled word or not. I have to select Skip on every topic. Is there a way to set it up so that it only opens and stops in topics with misspelled words? If there is no misspelled word, I would like it to move on to the next topic and not have to select Skip each time. I have Application Preferences set to check Run spell checking on opening a topic, but I'm not sure if that affects this or not.

I am creating  help content in RoboHelp 2022. I have a image in my header and when i click on that image , a default page should open. I have created a default page and added that page as a link in Header Logo URL. I am generating a Responsive output for my project as that is my requirement.When i test from my local i am able to see the default page when i click on the image. When i deploy it to server and test it, its not showing the default page. It is still showing some other page which is not there in my application at all. Is there any other configuration that has to be done for this?

I converted an old, rather large 2017 RoboHelp project into V2019. The project has all text in bold. I checked the css file and the masterpage and can't determine where the bold effect is being set. I can look at the souce code and see the bold tag. How do I turn off the bold (without manually modifing all the source code for each topic)? If I highlight the text it does not show the bold option as being set, but when I enter new text it is all in bold. What am I missing that I can't determine how the bold effect is being set throughout all the topics.  Thanks.

HiI cannot build PDFs from RH 2022.3.93 - the error message is below.This occurs regardless of the project or PDF output preset. I have tried installing and reinstalling Adobe Acrobat Pro, but I have had no luck.Any help would be fantastic as I am in my deliverable generation for our latest software release.Thanks M 

Is there a code scan in RoboHelp (i.e., looking for empty tags, multiple span tags on content, etc.)?     I've been noticing when our team has edited, we are getting these types of code issues and looking for a quick way to find them and fix them without having to review the code line by line.     

Hi I'm trying to link a .docx file and map Word styles and have been following the instructions at: https://www.grainge.org/RoboHelp_Tour/rh2022/authoring/importing_linking.htm   Each time I attempt it I come up against problems and have traced it to the contents of default.wsf needing to be edited manually e.g. there's a typo with spelling of "heirarchy" in the default code, however when I re-import all my manual edits to the file disappear and I am perplexed as to why.   Please see the attached PDF file particluarly the highlighted sections for details.   Any help would be much appreciated as I've been beating my head against for a while now.

Hello, again!Now that we've (you've) solved the import and skins issues, can we tackle the search issue I'm having, i.e., it doesn't work.In RH2017, I could click the Search button and enter into the text box any word I wanted to find, and if it existed anywhere in the project, I would see a list of which topic and page it could be found.Now, when I test the Search tab and look for a word I know is in the project (e.g., a topic title), I get No Topics Found.Was gibt?Thanks for any help anyone can provide...Lon

Hello Robohelp community. I'm sorry if this is a duplicate question, but I didn't see anything that was exactly like my scenario. I am trying to publish our robohelp "webhelp" project to our server and I keep getting the message "Warning: Failed to publish to "generic name web server". reason: The password was not allowed. Our technicians have assured me that the Host Name, Port, Password and UserID we are using is correct. We are using FTP Protocols. I am stumped. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. As stated in the subject line ...  FrameMaker comes with a built-in editor for styling its HTML5 output, but it is not a very efficient editor. Is it possible to build a skin from scratch using RoboHelp which can be applied in FrameMaker?

Hi all,I'm am facing the following problem.:The export from RoboHelp to Word is failing everytime and I have no clue why... before the export is failing the log show the following:Has some an idea, what autodid not return a double is meaning and how i could solve it?

I have used RoboHelp (v 2022.3.93) to export XLIFFs of our web content for language translation. After testing out the translation with a couple different independent tools then importing the XLIFFs back into RoboHelp, I'm finding that the translated content is missing (blank). One vendor has told me they are unable to parse the sample XLIFF files I provided (in the format generated by RoboHelp). Wondering if others have encountered this problem - the process I'm using doesn't seem outrageously complex. We'd like to use machine translation as a starting point and then have native speakers within our organization perfect this. However if the translations aren't visible after re-importing the XLIFFs then the process is obviously not usable. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I'm in the process of changing our help to use a template based on the TopNavigation frameless template. In that template there is a logo in the upper left corner that is also a link to the home page. Most of our clients use a white-label version of our site, so there is no logo for application.  I'd like to remove that image and the link but haven't been able to. I've created a black logo that blends in with the background so you don't see a logo. However, when you tab through the site, you still go to that black logo.

Robohelp 2022 - I need to delete the tile images so we can replace  with a different image or at the very leaset, just set a background color for the tiles to get an idea of what we want to do, but I have deleted the tile images for both Blue Lagoon and Oceanic frameless templates, and nothing changes.  They stay exactly same as they were  before I deleted the picture.   To do this I'm going to the Oceanic Template editor and I click on Home Page/TOC Tiles/Image Box and remove toc_default_tile.svg from Image Path.  When I do that, nothing happens.  When that didn't work, I tried to add a background color (gold) but still nothing happened. Also, while I'm at it, I have no idea when it happened, but if you look at the last screenshot it shows my search box is now sitting on top of the caption "How Can We Help" on the HomePage.  I've tried many things to get it to move with no luck.  Any help would be appreciated. How do I make this h

Longshot question, but is there an easy way to rename multiple files names (not topic names) in bulk without breaking links? I'm using RH 2022.0.346

Hello.  I'm on the struggle bus and am needing some help and clarification.  I'm new to Robohelp.  I have hundreds of Word files that I need to bring into Robohelp.  Ideally, I would like to import all of the files and folders and subfolders into RH 2022 at once.  Is that even possible, I guess is my question?  If I right click in the contents panel, I see a menu that has import file, folder and Word Document options.  If I choose folder and go out and select my folder that contains all of the structure and subfolders and Word files, it brings it into my contents panel and I can expand all of the folders and see my sub folder and what looks like my "files" or topics, but when I double click on the file (or topic to use RH terminology) it is blank on the right hand side.  What am I doing wrong?  I don't know when to use import folder or import word document or link folder or link file.  I'm thoroughly confused because the way my brain th

My office has recently transitioned our software application from an on-premises (i.e., local datacenter) Windows Server environment to an AWS Cloud Linux environment.  The problem:  While Windows Server didn't seem to care how our files are named, the same can't be said of Linux.  Linux is apparently looking for files to be named in camel case.  We have eight RoboHelp project folders that this impacts, and within those folders are over 100,000+ references to files and folders that need to be changed to camel case.  (NOTE:  I think I have the nomenclature correct, I'm getting this from a developer.  I myself am a tech writer who does most of the content development in Rh, but I don't get 'under the hood' on issues like this.)  Here's an example of an affected file name: Old (Windows/incorrect)       New (Linux/correct)InstallRemovalBySN.htm        InstallRemovalBySn.htm My developer is telling me

I am needing to change the color of the light blue bar at the top of the skin (right below the dark blue bar).  Does anyone jknow what the specific item I would need to edit would be under the Topics tab?   I've clicked on each item found and i never did see the light blue bar highlighted .  I'd love to be able to make some edits to that if possible.   

Can someone tell me how I can remove the top portion (blue background with the bubbles) of the Oceanic skin in Robohelp 2022.  I have removed the default image in the Top Section Container under the HomePage tab and added a background color, but that doesn't seem to do the trick.   What am I missing?   

Hi there,I have 3 sections on my TOC that need to be on the TOC when the participants access the Knowledge Base.  However, I don't want a TOC tile on the SKIN for 2 of the 3 TOC sections. Is there a way to keep Section 1 tile, but eliminate section 2 and section 3 tiles on the SKIN? I'm updated to 2020.7.46, I'm using Studio Framelss SKIN. Thanks,Carmela

Hi! I am trialling RH2022.3.23 for the first time but am experienced with older versions. I have imported a project from RH9 and am outputting Webhelp.  The problem is that Keywords are missing, apparently at random, from the published Index and new Keywords for existing or new Topics do not apear in the Index. Screengrab shows RH Author view on left and output Index on right.     Note that of the first 7 Keywords in the Project only 2, "Add/Delete Node" and "Arc", appear in the Webhelp Index. All Keywords appear in at least 1 Topic.  No Cross References are used.  I've looked at  ..\My RoboHelp Projects\outputs\...\WebHelp\whxdata\idata1.new.js and can see that the array for the Index is failing to populate all the Keywords.[index image removed by moderator - kept crashing the webview]      Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix this?  TIA  

Hi,  I created a stylesheet and defined the styles for both numbered and non-numbered lists. The list works fine if no image (icons) are added to the text. If an image is added to the text, there is an issue with the alignment of Text and number. Please refer to the image below:But, I dont face this problem when I use the default numbered list. Can anybody let me know a solution to this problem?  

I have RH projects that cover a lot of topics. I want to create an automatic index, but in the latest version, I was unable to find the smart indexing option that was available in RoboHelp 2017. Manually indexing these topics is a cumbersome task. Any help is highly appreciated.

Has anyone had a play with the scripting for RH2019 New? I'm just having a look with the idea of upgrading a bunch of ExtendScript scripts I wrote, but I'm somewhat lost.   The scripting guide says: "Debugging ScriptsYou can open the debug window by pressing 'Ctrl+Alt+D' to debug your scripts " And it does open a debug window, but it seems to be debugging the RH application, rather than the script I want to debug? I tried the VariableConverter.js as a test.   Any tips for transitioning from ExtendScript to Javascript?   How does the Post Generation Script stuff work? The scripting guide all deals with RH interface stuff as far as I can tell, and I'm only familiar with javascript ephemerally modifying online html pages. Can it be run locally to make permanent file changes? Is there are good resource somewhere? Am I misreading the scripting guide?

RH 2022.3.93Frameless---I'm well aware that the RH commandline tool is wonky, but I haven't encountered this kind of problem before and wanted to check if I'm the only one who gets this. ContextIn our project, we have 12 Frameless output presets that we generate on a daily basis with batch scripts and upload to a file server.As has been brought up before, the commandline tool tends to get stuck (rh-render-process-gone) if you generate multiple presets. Our dubious 'workaround' for this is to have 12 consecutive batch scripts, one for each output preset (which is a bootleg method to sort of force the RH application to restart each time). Each batch script gets run at a specific time with Windows task scheduler. ProblemThe output generation works fine save for one big issue. For reasons I cannot pinpoint, the variables sometimes fail to get published:There does not seem to be a consistent trend I can discover.This missing variable problem usually happens to about half of the pu

I am using ROboHelp 2022 version for creating help pages. My pages are having lots of images, i need to name as per the topic in that specific page.Please let me know how to name the images and once we have added names to all the images if i publish again for adding new content, will the image names remain the same or will it get modified like image1, image2..?
