I purchased Adobe Acrobat XI Pro several years ago. My old computer DIED and there is no way for me to deactivate the application on this computer. I was able to download my old Adobe Acrobat XI Pro with my serial number on my NEW computer, however, just days after doing this, I'm getting a message: "The serial number XXXXX is already in use by the maximum allowed computers. You need to deactivate another computer within 15 days to use this product." HOW DO I DO THIS? I don't want to purchase another adobe product as I had no problems with the Acrobat XI Pro -- I didn't need any updates to that program. I signed into my Adobe account and tried to deactivate my old computer but it is not even listed. If this is a way for Adobe to make me purchase another program...I'm not happy! I
I have signed up for a free trial of Adobe Acrobat Pro.I am trying to turn my PDFs into a fillable form that anyone with access can download and simply fill in text fields with their answers. However, it seems that there is no option under "tools" to prepare a form. I've looked up multiple tutorials, and all of them tell me to look under tools, then choose "Prepare Form". Yet that option or nothing similar even appears. The closest thing I have to creating a form is a web form, which is not what I want. Is anyone aware on how to find this option or if there is a new way to add fillable text to your PDF for others to fill out?
Help! There is no way for me to biew any files that are opwned anymore. There is no menu bar, no controls, only an arrow and a tiny sliver of a box that if I click it wants to close pdfs.pdfs say they are open but I can't view any of them. Clicking the dots opens the Customise toolbar window, but o access to any other options at all.See screenshot. Running a laptop, Lenovo, windows, all new & work fine for every other piece of software except adobe.
Our agendas are formatted as lists, which often span multiple pages. I've found that when exporting from Word to PDF, any list that spans multiple pages will be split into multiple <L> tags. This is non-compliant with accessibility standards. I'm looking for a way to get the whole list, regardless of how many pages it spans, to export inside of one <L> tag. I'm able to remediate the tag structure after the fact, but it adds a lot of seemingly unnecessary steps and I'm not typically the one generating these documents.
I have a 4 pager document that outlines a partnership proposition. I would like to convert this 4 pager into a professional presentation with a corporate feel. Is this something adobe express can do?
I have unclicked the "show comments pane when a PDF with comments is opened" every time I use acrobat. I always click ok afterward. I close the program, restart my computer, yet the box is checked again. What is the fix for this?
My stamp palette doesn't open in Acrobat. How can I fix it?

Hi, I 'd like to give a try to this Acrobat version. Where could I find the download link? I mean Pro edition.
We are trying to use the sign feature in adobe but what we are finding is that once we sign locally, when the file is sent to a higher level, they are not able to add their own signature flow to the document. We thought of adding the entire flow at this level, however that will not work as their flow can change based on certain criteria and we may or may not know the correct routing. Is there away we can have our signature routing for local and once completed, and the file goes up to a higher level, they can then add their routing for signatures as needed to complete?
I want to list the files in a folder in a list box that the user can select from. My trusted function code is:myListFilesInFolder = app.trustedFunction(function(cFolderPath){ app.beginPriv(); var folder = Folder(cFolderPath); var files = folder.getFiles(); var fileList = []; for (var i=0; i < files.length; i++) { if (files[i] instanceof File) { fileList.push(files[i].name); } } return fileList; app.endPriv();}); The code to be run with a button in the PDF is: var folderPath = "/c/temp/my_files";var filesArray = myListFilesInFolder(folderPath);if(filesArray && filesArray.length > 0) { app.alert("Files found:\n" + filesArray.join("\n"));} else { app.alert("No files found or an error occurred.");} I get an error in the trusted function saying Folder not defined. Need help on the button code too to show the files listed in a drop down or list box that my user can select from too. I’m trying to cut an
I saw some threads never resolved about this.
Back in August of 2024, Patrick39031314z52u asked this very same question with a poor response from an Adobe community manager. Here is Patrick’s text, which matches my issue exactly:“I wrote my thesis on Overleaf using LaTeX and then downloaded the final document as a PDF. In order to submit it, I need to add certain accessibility features to the document using Acrobat, including language, title, and alt text for the figures. The first two of these went fine, but when I clicked Prepare for accessibility > Add alternate text, Adobe told me that there were no figures in the document. Then, when I clicked Autotag Document and let it tag everything in the document including figures and paragraphs, it found the figures but added a bunch of unwanted dashes between words, which I take to be space characters that have for some reason been unhidden (see attachment). How can I1. Eliminate all of the space characters/dashes from the document[second question deleted because it doesn’t match my
I purchased Adobe Acrobat X Pro many years ago and it has been working terrific for the entire time. Quite suddenly and with no changes a Trial Version screen started to appear and asked for a serial number to activate. I tried to enter the serial number that I had on the original packaging but to no avail. Needless to say the “trial period” ended and I now have no access to the product. Itried all of the suggestions on the help center (Uninstall, reinstall, install trial version, delete certain files) to no avail. How can a product that I purchased just stop working and how can I get it to start working again?!
Acrobat crashes immediatiely when reading checkboxes and radio buttons with NVDA. This has been ocurring for at least two days as of August 20, 2025.For NVDA users, this means they cannot read or fillout accessible PDF forms. For me, this means I cannot test the accessible PDF forms I am creating. This is critical to debug.
The PDFs are generated automatically by our server and contain multiple editable form fields that must remain interactive. We need to reduce the file size because the documents must be transmitted through an API gateway with a strict size limit.Standard compression tools often flatten or remove the form fields, which is not acceptable. We are looking for a way in Adobe Acrobat Pro 2015 to optimize/compress the PDF while fully preserving form fields, layout, and visual quality.
Cannot even edit a 3 page resume with a modern supercomputer without getting screen jitter and lag. Clicking on a text box to edit text requires waiting 8 to 10 seconds from the time that I type until the text is rendered on a screen .... I am trying to simply copy and paste a color of crimson from one text box to another and there is no mechanism for me to apply the same text color .. I have to open up Microsoft Paint to get the correct RGB Code. Resizing a text box causes flashing and lagging ... Over 10 years ago this is why I chose to use Microsoft Word and Power Point rather than Adobe. Same problems persist today. AWFUL ... I ask Chat GPT how to overcome the lag. It tells me Adobe is known as LAG CITY and advises me to use Microsoft Word. FIX YOUR PRODUCT!!!!
In the web version of Acrobat I’m unable to find or enable the bookmarks tab in the sidebar on the right side of the screen. Is there a setting I’m missing somewhere? This tab is present on the desktop version of Acrobat.
I know this has been asked before here: But no explanation was given about why it works in a browser or what the solution is in Acrobat (without using destinations).
So, I have had about 100 chats with tech support. None of them seems to know what to do. I have gone through all the posts in the community. NONE of the steps suggested work. Every time I open a document, a pop-up window appears, displaying "Preparing document for reading" with a progress bar. The progress bar freezes about 1/3 of the way, and I then have to close the window manually. This occurs 50-60 times a day and is VERY disruptive to my workflow. Sometimes, I'm able to close it with no further interruptions; other times, it repeatedly pops up in the same document. Someone please help, I have tried every .pdf program out there and all of them absolutely SUCK.
I REFUSE to accept the answer tht PDFs were never meant to be edited. In Adobe's eyes, maybe. But, there is absolutely no reason that a comprehensive file format such as PDF cannot be edited in a way that is both constructive and not MADDENING! Adobe Acrobat is [cursing removed] for an editor. Just because they think it work perfectly fine does not mean that it works perfectly fine. [Branched to new thread by moderator]
Hi Team,In our environment, we encountered an issue while updating Adobe Acrobat DC to version 25.001.2047x (Optional Update, Apr 28, 2025). The update fails on certain macOS machines. We analyzed a few sample machines and observed the following (note: this may not cover all possible base versions) Successful Updates (Sample):25.001.2043824.004.20272 Failed Updates (Sample):24.005.2040024.005.20320 We primarily used the Terminal for the installation. On machines where the update failed, we also attempted installation via the standalone installer, but that too was unsuccessful. While using the installer, it prompted us to select the Adobe Acrobat application. However, even though the app was visible in Finder, it was not selectable, which resulted in the installation failing.Additionally, we attempted the troubleshooting steps suggested for error code 105 , but the issue still persists. We’ve attached some sample logs and screenshots for your reference.Looking forward to yo
I am using Adobe Acrobat Pro DC (Version 2018.009.20050) on a Mac Mini running macOS High Sierra (Version 10.13.2) and I used to be able to use the Comment tool to add shapes to drawings and reports...I used to insert the shape, and then I was able to go to properties, and when I would click on the Fill Color, there was an option/check box to make it transparent. That option is no longer there and I don't know why it just disappeared. Now when I try to insert a circle to show an area, it just covers up what I'm trying to circle and there's no way for me to remove the fill color (I can only change it to be a different color). ??? Please help! This is so irritating!!
